Mid-Atlantic Sprint Series End of The Season Banquet

DIEVA IS THE 'MAN OF THE HOUR' EARNING MULTIPLE AWARDS INCLUDING 2019 MID-ATLANTIC SPRINT SERIES CHAMPIONSHIP TITLE; MCVAY WINS ENGLER MACHINE AND TOOL INJECTION SYSTEM AT END OF THE SEASON BANQUET
CHERRY HILL, NJ

In the Grand Rivera Ballroom at the Crowne Plaza Philadelphia-Cherry Hill Hotel in front of 125 attendees this past Saturday night and mastered by well-known announcer Pete Wortman, Ricky DiEva, driver of the Body Shop by DiEva No. 85, was honored for his very successful rookie season with the Delaware Auto Exchange Mid-Atlantic Sprint Series in which he claimed the championship over veteran driver and last years champ, Tim Tanner Jr. by just one point!

DiEva also collected the JLD Graphics Rookie of the Year honors, as well as the Snow's Sealcoating LLC. NJ State Championship title, and took home the Diversified Machine, Inc. / DMI / BullDog Rears front end assembly set up after his name was randomly picked along with others during the contingency raffle.

Finishing in the runner up spot, just one point behind DiEva, was 2018 Mid-Atlantic Sprint Series Champion, Tim Tanner Jr., was was also crowned the 2019 Bethman's Auto Pennsylvania State Champion, taking home $500 for that. Tanner and his team were honored with the annual "Founder's Cup", for his dedication and determination as a competitor while attending every MASS event since the series became to be in 2017. Tanner also won multiple contingency drawings including a Wings Unlimited gift certificate for a BOGO front nose wing deal a Newlin Bar Service, LLC Gift Certificate.

Rounding out the top five was 2017 Series Champ - Eddie Wagner, Larry McVay - who went home with the main raffle item - the Engler Machine and Tool Fuel Injection System, and Tom Carberry who was also named the "Thayer Performance Hard Charger of the Year" recipient, after passing a total of 61 cars in total in the A-Main events!

Jeff Geiges, a "part timer" this past season, took home the Delaware Auto Exchange sponsored Delaware State Points Title, and also was credited with winning the most feature wins in 2019, visiting victory lane FOUR times. His crew chief - John Webster, who is also Geiges' father in law, took home the Mechanic of the Year award for his dedication to the Yardbirds Racing No. 77J for a number of years.

Felton, DE resident Andy Best was acknowledged for his outstanding heat race win accumulation, FIVE total, after entering eight out of fifteen events in 2019. Best started the year off racing the Delaware Auto Exchange No. 2, taking home a feature win at Bridgeport Speedway and then after switching rides later in the season, won in his home state of Delaware at Delaware International Speedway in September.

A number of additional door prizes were raffled off after the awards ceremony and dancing and cocktails rounded out the evening!

This weekend, focus is shifted on the 2020 season, with the Pioneer Pole Buildings Motorsports Racecar & Trade Show event kicking off the season this Friday, Saturday and Sunday! Be sure to stop by the Mid-Atlantic Sprint Series booth and grab a 2020 schedule, and see the cars of 2020 JLD Graphics Rookie of the Year Contender Jenna Shotz and 2019 Champion Ricky DiEva.
