1910
Lew Volk ... Born ... A former NASCAR driver from Patterson, NJ. He competed in two Nextel Cup Series events in his career, earning one top-ten. He debuted in 1949, running in the inagural event at Langhorne. Starting 34th in the field of forty-five, Volk completed all but eighteen laps in route to a solid 10th place effort. He returned to the track in 1951, racing at Morristown. Though he wasn't able to match his Langhorne finish, Volk still drove his Henry J to a respectable 17th place showing.

Jimmy Bryan won the AAA Eastern Sprint Car race over Mike Nazaruk at the South Florida Fairgrounds, West Palm Beach, FL.

Jim Childers won the PRO Sprint Car race at the Volusia County Speedway ,Barberville, FL.
Martin Truex won the 16th annual Turkey Derby 150 race at Wall Stadium ,Wall Township, NJ. ( Click here for the race report. )
Dick Anderson won the FASCAR late model race over Pete Orr at the New Smyrna Speedway ,New Smyrna Beach, FL.
Mike Borghi won the late model race over Eddie Miller at the Hialeah Speedway ,Hialeah, FL.

Taylor Andrews won the TBARA Sprint Car race at the East Bay Raceway Park, Tampa,FL.
