Will Kreitzer ... Died ... Wilbert A. Kreitzer passed away at the age of 59 from cancer. Will built, managed and promoted the famous Silver Spring Speedway in Mechanicsburg, PA. for a quarter of a century before turning the reins over to his son Alan Kreitzer in 1980.
Billy Wease won the opening night of the 12th annual Rumble in Fort Wayne Midget race at the Memorial Coliseum Expo Center, Fort Wayne, IN. Bryan Nuckles was second followed by David Gough, Mike Fedorcak, Joe Liguori and Mel Kenyon.
