Dana Carter ... Born ... USAC and CART driver from the 1970's & 80's. Son of Duane Carter, brother of Pancho Carter and half brother of Johnnie Parsons Jr. Dana died on May 5th in 1983 of a heart attack after finishing second in a midget race in Indianapolis .
Gene Force won the AAA Midwest Sprint Car race at the Dayton Speedway,Dayton, OH.
Andy Linden won the USAC Sprint Car race at the Montgomery Motor Speedway, Montgomery,AL. Eddie Sachs was second followed by Don Branson and Elmer George.
Art Bisch ... Died ... Bisch started racing midgets in 1948 before moving on to Sprint Cars in California, dominating the 1956 season, winning 10 of the 27 races. He moved up to Champ cars in 1958 and won his first race in the Rex Mays 100. Sadly his career was cut short when he crashed at the Lakewood Speedway in Atlanta, Georgia and succumbed to his injuries.

Ray Brown won the ARDC Midget race at the Hatfield Speedway, Hatfield,PA.
Jim Maguire won the URC Sprint Car race at the Glen Aubrey Raceway, Glen Aubrey,NY. Chuck Yost was second followed by Don Gillette, Wimpy Ervin and Lou Johnson.
Larry Dickson won the Sprint Car race over Dean Mast and Bobbie Adamson at the Debo Speedway, Steubenville,OH.
Jud Larson won the Sprint Car race over Don Elliott, Lloyd Beckman, Jerry Weld and RayLee Goodwin at the Topeka Fairgrounds, Topeka,KS.
Tommy Copp won the 100 lap USAC Midget race at the Fairgrounds Speedway, Oklahoma City, OK.
Gordon Johncock won the Rocky Mountain 150 USAC Championship race on the 2.66 Mile Road Course Continental Divide Raceway, Castle Rock, CO. Dan Gurney was second followed by A.J. Foyt, Jerry Grant and Roger McCluskey.
Pancho Carter won the USAC Midget race at the Santa Fe Speedway, Chicago,IL.
Rick Schmelyun won the Super Sprint Car race at the Williams Grove Speedway, Williams Grove,PA. Mike Lloyd was second followed by Johnny Grum, Ed Zirkle and Kenny Weld.
Bruce Walkup won the Ted Horn/Bill Schindler Memorial USAC Sprint Car race at the Williams Grove Speedway, Williams Grove,PA. Pancho Carter, Lee Osborne, Bill Puterbaugh and Chuck Gurney.
Lee Osborne won the 40 lap USAC Sprint Car race at the Reading Fairgrounds Speedway, Reading, PA. George Snider was second followed by Bruce Walkup, Tom Bigelow and Billy Cassella.
Garry Gollub won the URC Super Sprint Car race at the Lakeville Speedway, Lakeville,MA.
Sleepy Tripp won the USAC Midget race at the Merrittville Speedway, Thorold, ONT. Canada
Smokey Snellbaker won the KARS Super Sprint Car race at the Penn National Speedway, Grantville,PA. Jimmy Boyd was second followed by Kramer Williamson, Lynn Paxton and Johnny Mickle.
