1941
Gus Schrader won the IMCA Big Car race at the Kansas State Fairgrounds, Hutchinson, KS. Jimmy Wilburn was second followed by Bert Hellmueller, Ralph Pratt and Johnny Schackelford. Schrader was never more than 20 feet ahead of Wilburn through out this race and only beat him to the finish line by about 3 feet. One month later (October 19, 1941), Schrader was again racing with Wilburn in an I.M.C.A. Championship race at Shreveport, Louisiana when their two cars tangled on the first lap. Schrader was fatally injured in the accident.

A.J. Foyt won the Hoosier Hundred USAC Champ Car race at the 1 Mile Dirt Oval Indiana State Fairgrounds, Indianapolis, Indiana. Bobby Marshman was second followed by Jim McElreath, Len Sutton and Shorty Templeman.
Tony Bonadies won the ARDC Midget race at the Allentown Fairgrounds, Allentown,PA.
Johnny Mackison, Jr. won the Super Modified race at the Lincoln Speedway, Hanover,PA. Neil Haight was second followed by Bobby Hersh, Gene Goodling and Moe Harden.
Jerry Mattice won the Sprint Car race at the Manzanita Speedway, Phoenix, AZ.
Dick Hutcherson won the IMCA (International Motor Contest Association) Late Model Stock Car race at the Kansas State Fairgrounds, Hutchinson, Kansas. Leonard Funk was second followed by Ernie Derr, Ole Brua and Gerry Harrison.

Roger McCluskey won the 100 lap USAC Sprint Car race at the Reading Fairgrounds, Reading,PA. Parnelli Jones was second followed by Jiggs Peters, Jim McElreath and Chuck Hulse.
Dan Daniels won the URC Sprint Car race over Bobby Courtwright, Cookie Osterhout, Don Gillette and Bill Brown at the Tioga Motorsports Park, Owego,NY.
Bobby Marshman won the USAC Midget race at the Trenton International Speedway (1.0p), Trenton, NJ.
Tony Romit won the ARDC Midget race at the Utica-Rome Speedway, Vernon, NY.

1975
Jason Leffler... Born ... Jason was a USAC and NASCAR driver from Long Beach, California. Leffler began racing in the open-wheel ranks, competing in the 2000 Indianapolis 500 before moving to primarily NASCAR competition. Leffler was inducted into the National Midget Auto Racing Hall of Fame in 2003. He had 18 national championship midget car wins at that time. On June 12, 2013, Leffler was involved in a crash that took his life during a 410 sprint car heat race at the 5/8-mile Bridgeport Speedway in Logan Township, New Jersey. Running second with a few laps left, his car suffered a front suspension failure, causing it to crash into a wall and flip several times.

Gene Knaub won the Thunder on the Farm 358 Late Model race at the Trail-Way Speedway, Hanover, PA. Cam Zeigler was second followed by Bernie Beard, Bobby Beard and Mike Walls.
Woody Pitkat won the SK Modified race at the Stafford Speedway, Stafford Springs, CT. Glen Reen was second followed by Keith Rocco, Ryan Preece and Eric Berndt.
Drew Heistand won the ARDC Midget race at the Williams Grove Speedway, Mechanicsburg, PA. Tim Buckwalter was second followed by Steve Buckwalter, Dusty Heistand and Ryan Smith.
Lou Cicconi won the Open Modified Stock Car race over Brett Ballard, Neal Williams, Jesse Hill and Ron Roberts on the 1/4 mile track of the Bridgeport Speedway, Bridgeport, NJ.
Wes Bonebrake won the Late Model feature and Steve Kenawell won the 305 Sprint Car feature at the Path Valley Speedway, Spring Run, PA.
Scott Bloomquist won the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series feature at the Winchester Speedway, Winchester, VA. Dale McDowell was second followed by Ronnie DeHaven, Earl Pearson Jr., Bart Hartman and Steve Francis.
Austin Dillon won the Fast Five 225 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race at the Chicagoland Speedway in Joliet, IL. Kevin Harvick finished second followed by Nelson Piquet Jr., Parker Klingerman and Kyle Busch.
Craig Dollansky won the World of Outlaws Sprint Car race at the Clay County Fair Speedway, Spencer, IA. Sammy Swindell was second followed by Donny Schatz, Kraig Kinser and Mark Dobmeier.
Jason Johnson won the Speedway Motors ASCS Midwest Sprint Car race at the I-80 Speedway, Greenwood, NE. Jack Dover finished second followed by Jordan Boston, Danny Lasoski and Ryan Roberts.
Jon Stanbrough won the Midwest Sprint Car Series Sprint Car feature at the Bloomington Speedway, Bloomington, IN. Levi Jones was second followed by Andrew Elson, Chris Windom, Brady Short, Damion Gardner, Robert Ballou, Hunter Schuerenberg, Bobby East and Danny Holtsclaw.

Brett Tonkin won the Modified Stock Car feature over Kevin Hartnett at the Penn Can Speedway, Susquehanna, PA. Other winners were Dan Snyder in Late Models, Mike Nagel Jr. in Crate Sportsman, Shane Wolf Jr. in Street Stocks, Nick Grist in Four Cylinders and Rob Warner in Factory Stocks.
Billy Decker won the DIRTcar 358 Modified race over Stephane Lafrance, Tim O'Brien, Carey Terrance and Jimmy Phelps at the Mohawk International Raceway, Akwesasne, NY.
Jerry Higbie won the Modified Stock Car race over Danny Tyler, Bobby Hentschel, Geoff Quackenbush and Brett Graham at the Accord Speedway. Accord, NY. Other feature winners were Kevin Ward in Sportsman, Timmy Johnson in Spec Sportsman, John Woinoski in Pure Stocks and Torin Betterton in Pro Stocks.
Tim Shaffer won the All Star Circuit of Champions race over Bryan Sebetto, Rob Chaney, Dean Jacobs and Jac Haudenschild at the Fremont Speedway, Fremont, OH. Caleb Griffith won the 305 Sprint feature over John Ivy and Paul Weaver.
Don Spatorico won the 20th annual King of the Hill Sportsman race over Jesse Cotriss, James Henry, Greg Panunte and Allan Wills at the Ransomville Speedway, Ransomville, NY.
