Danny Oakes... Died ... In the 1940s and 50s, he was one of America's leading Midget Race Car drivers winning 100s of races around the country. He won the Turkey Night Grand Prix and 3 West Coast Midget Championships in 1945. In 1947, he won the American Automobile Assn. Midget title and the United States Auto Club Pacific Coast Midget championship in 1959. At age 40, he tried to qualify for the Indianapolis 500 from 1952 to 1955, without success. But as a mechanic, he put many others into the winners circle and earned the reputation as one of the best mechanics in the Indy pits. As chief mechanic in 1963, for 1952, 500 winner Troy Ruttman, his car finished 12th and driver Johnny White, brought Oakes his best finish of 4th in 1964. He quit driving midgets in his mid-60s, but continued his racing career into his 70s as a throttle man in offshore boat racing. He was inducted into the National Midget Auto Racing Hall of Fame in 1996.

Jerry Coons Jr. was second followed by Nick Knepper, Steve Buckwalter, Shane Golobie, Jason Leffler, Levi Jones, Tracy Hines, Andrew Deal and Tim McCreadie.
Christopher Bell won the 55-lap Lucas Oil Chili Bowl Midget Nationals at the Tulsa Expo Raceway, Tulsa, OK. After swapping the lead with teammate Kyle Larson, Bell inherited the top spot for keeps on lap 41 of the 55 lap event when Larson suffered an engine failure. Rico Abreu finished second followed by Spencer Bayston,Tanner Thorson, Ryan Bernal, Brad Sweet, Justin Grant, Chase Johnson, Kevin Thomas Jr and Chad Boat.
Cannon McIntosh won the 30-lap opening night feature of the 34th Annual Lucas Oil Chili Bowl Midget Nationals at the Tulsa Expo Raceway, Tulsa, OK. Tyler Courtney finished second followed by Aaron Reutzel, Michael Pickens, Zach Daum, Paul Nienhiser, Kevin Thomas Jr. , Wesley Smith, Chase Briscoe and Kevin Bayer.
Logan Seavey won the fifth night feature of the 37th Annual Lucas Oil Chili Bowl Midget Nationals at the Tulsa Expo Raceway, Tulsa, OK. Getting the lead and never looking back, California’s Logan Seavey sailed the Swindell SpeedLab No. 39 into Victory Lane. Justin Grant finished second followed by Chase McDermand, Zeb Wise, Jason McDougal, Ace McCarthy, Jace Park, Brian Carber, Clinton Boyles and Bryant Wiedeman.
Logan Seavey went back-to-back at the 38th annual Chili Bowl Nationals powered by NOS Energy, Seavey took advantage of a restart at the opening of the 55-lap affair and led nonstop for the win. Stalked the entire race by Buddy Kofoid, the pair railed the cushion of the Tulsa Expo through the first half of the race before the line shifted low as the pair raced into traffic. Banking off the cushion and allowing Kofoid to close several times, there was never a moment where Kofoid was able to mount a charge for the lead. Corey Day finished third followed by Daison Pursley, Hank Davis, Shane Golobic, Tanner Carrick, Spencer Bayston, Michael Faccinto and Jake Swanson.
