Rodger Ward drove his Watson-Offy roadster to victory in the USAC Championship race on the 1 mile paved Trenton Speedway in Trenton, New Jersey. The race was stopped after 142 of the scheduled 150 laps due to rain. Don Branson was second followed by Don Davis, Parnelli Jones and Jim Hurtubise.
