Don Branson continued his domination of the USAC Midwest Sprint Car circuit in the Bob Estes #4 car, winning the 30 lap feature over Parnelli Jones and A.J. Foyt on the high banked 1/2 mile paved Salem Speedway in Salem, IN.
Tony Bonadies won the ARDC Midget race at the Williams Grove Speedway, Williams Grove,PA.
Hal Rettberg won the URC Sprint Car race over Al Chamberlain, Eddie Gallione and Hank Rogers at the Nazareth Raceway, Nazareth,PA.
Bobby Grim won the USAC Midget race at the Debo Speedway, Steubenville,OH.
Don Davis won the CRA Sprint Car race at the Adobe Bowl, Tucson, AZ.
A.J. Shepherd won the IMCA Sprint Car race at the Hawkeye Downs Speedway, Cedar Rapids,IA. Jerry Blundy was second followed by Pete Folse, Harold Leep and Arnie Knepper.
Mark Donohue won the Pocono 500 USAC Championship race on the 2.5 Mile Paved Oval Pocono International Raceway, Long Pond, PA. Joe Leonard was second followed by A.J. Foyt, Mario Andretti and Billy Vukovich Jr.
Pancho Carter won the 40 lap USAC Sprint Car race at the Reading Fairgrounds Speedway, Reading, PA. Johnny Parsons was second followed by Billy Cassella, Sammy Sessions and Rollie Beale.
A.J. Foyt won the Molson Diamond Indy 300 USAC Championship race on the 2.459 Mile Road Course Mosport Park, Bowmanville, Ontario. Gary Bettenhausen was second followed by Tom Sneva, Todd Gibson and Jerry Grant.
Leigh Earnshaw won the ARDC Midget car race at the Five Mile Point Speedway, Binghamton, NY. Nick Fornoro, Jr. was second followed by Hank Rogers, Jr., Doug Craig and John Heydenreich.
