Dick Tobias won the Super Sprint Car race over Lynn Paxton, Smokey Snellbaker, Van May and Lee Osborne at the Reading Fairgrounds, Reading,PA.
Buddy Baker won the NASCAR Winston Cup Dixie 500 over Dave Marcis at the Atlanta Motor Speedway, Hampton, GA.

Jimmy Horton and Kenny Brightbill shared the victories in the twin 50's Modified Stock Car features at the U.S. 13 Speedway, Delmar, DE. Following Horton in the first race was Ken Brenn Jr., Harold Bunting, Hal Browning, Paul Lotier, Walt Breeding, Jimmy Brenn, Glenn Fitzcharles, Kenny Brightbill and Bobby Walls. The second race was cut short at the 20-lap mark because of rain with Kenny Brightbill declared the winner. Brightbill was followed by Walt Breeding, Frank Cozze, Paul Lotier, Jimmy Horton, Richard Jarvis, Billy Towers, Hal Browing, Frankie Kerr and Jimmy Brenn.
