Art Bisch ... Born ... Bisch started racing midgets in 1948 before moving on to Sprint Cars in California, dominating the 1956 season, winning 10 of the 27 races. He moved up to Champ cars in 1958 and won his first race in the Rex Mays 100. Sadly his career was cut short when he crashed at the Lakewood Speedway in Atlanta, Georgia and succumbed to his injuries.
Bruce Walkup won the USAC Sprint Car race at the Clovis Fairgrounds, Clovis,CA. Carl Williams was second followed by Sammy Sessions, George Snider and Jimmy Oskie.
Kenny Weld, in the Bob Weikert # 29, won the Super Sprint Car race over Rick Ferkel, Lynn Paxton, Bobby Allen and Paul Pitzer at the Reading Fairgrounds, Reading,PA.
Sammy Swindell won the USA Sprint Car race at the Devil's Bowl Speedway, Dallas,TX. Doug Wolfgang finished second followed by Steve Kinser, Dave Blaney and Bobby Allen.
Brad Noffsinger won the CRA Sprint Car race over Rip Williams, Cary Faas, Tim Green and Clark Drake at the Ascot Park Speedway,Gardena,CA.
Frank Riddle won the PRO 360 Sprint Car race over Stan Butler, Todd Schmidt and Bill Roynon at the Columbia Motorsports Park,Ellisville, FL.
P.J. Jones won the USAC Midget race over Jeff Gordon, Mike Streicher, Frank Pedregon and Stan Fox at the Ventura Raceway,Ventura, CA.
Steve Kinser won the Western World Winged Sprint Car race over Sammy Swindell, Bobby David Jr, Johnny Herrera and Brent Keading at the Manzanita Speedway (1/2d) ,Phoenix, AZ
Sammy Swindell won the World of Outlaws Sprint Car race over Joey Allen, Mark Kinser, Dave Blaney and Frankie Ferr at the New Lakeside Speedway (1/2p) ,Kansas City, KS
Bobby Labonte won the NASCAR Winston Cup NAPA 500 over Dale Jarrett at the Atlanta Motor Speedway, Hampton, GA.
Don Kreitz, Jr. won the Octoberfest Winged Sprint Car race over Lance Dewease, Billy Pauch, Ed Lynch Jr and Keith Kauffman at the Hagerstown Speedway ,Hagerstown, MD
Tim Shaffer won the Cotton Classic Winged Sprint Car race over Brent Keading, Brad Furr, Kasey Kahne and Damion Gardner at the Kings Speedway , Hanford, CA.
Rickey Hood won the Jim Edwards Memorial SCOA Winged Sprint Car race over Tim Crawley, Johnny Herrera, Robert Hall and Danny Williams at the Central Arizona Speedway , Casa Grande, AZ.
