1926
Ralph Liguori... Born ... NASCAR Grand National, USAC Midget, Sprint, Silver Crown & Indy Car Driver from the 1950's, 60's & 70's. He competed in the USAC Championship Car series from 1957 to 1971 making 61 starts. His best finish was 2nd place at the Indiana State Fairgrounds Speedway in 1970. 1966 was his most active year, when he made 7 starts and finished 28th in the National Championship. He attempted the Indianapolis 500 six times (1959, 1962, 1963, 1964, 1967, and 1968) but he failed to make the field each time. Liguori continued racing well into his 70's and won a minor race in 2000 at 73 years old.

Arnie Knepper... Born ... USAC driver 1950's to 1983. He drove Midgets, Sprints and the USAC Championship Car series, racing in the 1963-1972 seasons, with 75 career starts, including the 1965-1969 Indianapolis 500 races. He finished in the top ten 21 times, with his best finish in 3rd position twice in 1966.

1948
Ted Horn... Died ... AAA driver from the 1930's and 40's. Ted Horn has the best 9-year streak of finishes in Indianapolis 500 history. Over his Indianapolis 500 career, Ted Horn completed 1944 out of a possible 2000 laps (97%).
Bill Holland won the AAA Eastern Sprint Car race at the Williams Grove Speedway,Mechanicsburg, PA.
Johnnie Parsons won the DuQuoin 100 AAA Champ Car race at the 1 Mile Dirt Oval DuQuoin State Fairgrounds, DuQuoin,IL. Paul Russo was second followed by Bill Sheffler, Myron Fohr and Hal Cole.
Neal Carter won the AAA Midget race at the 1-mile dirt Langhorne Speedway, Langhorne, PA.

Wally Campbell won the AAA Eastern Sprint Car race at the Charlotte Speedway (3/4d), Charlotte, NC.
Vito Calia won the IMCA Sprint Car race at the Birmingham Int. Raceway, Birmingham, AL.

Johnny Thomson won the 100 lap AAA Eastern Sprint Car race at the Reading Fairgrounds (1/2d) , Reading, PA.
Duke Nalon won the 200 lap AAA Midget race over Roy Newman and Jack Turner at the Terre Haute Action Track (1/2d) , Terre Haute,IN.

Bob Pratt won the IMCA Sprint Car race over Jim McCune, Greg Weld, Don Brown and Sonny McDaniels at the Birmingham Int. Raceway, Birmingham, AL.
Allen Heath won the USAC Midget race over George Snider, Mel Kenyon, Joe Garson and Dick Atkins at the Ascot Park Speedway (1/2d), Gardena, CA.

A.J. Foyt won the Hut Hundred USAC Midget race over Bobby Grim and Chuck Rodee at the Terre Haute Action Track , Terre Haute,IN.
Johnny Rutherford won the USAC Sprint Car race at the Winchester Speedway, Winchester,IN. Roger McCluskey finished second followed by Al Smith, Bobby Unser and Arnie Knepper.
Steve Cannon won the Sprint Car race at the Springfield Speedway, Springfield,IL.

Tommy McAndrew won the ARDC Midget race at the Bloomsburg Fairgrounds, Bloomsburg,PA.
Bubby Jones won the Sprint Car race over Ray Kenens, Bob Kinser, Bob Sitz and J.D. Leas at the Kokomo Speedway, Kokomo,IN.

Donnie Allison won the NASCAR Winston Cup National 500 over Cale Yarborough at the Charlotte Motor Speedway, Concord, NC.
