Junior Johnson ... Born ... Junior was a legendary moonshiner in the rural South who became one of the early superstars of NASCAR in the 1950s and 1960s. He won 50 NASCAR races in his career before retiring in 1966. In the 1970s and 1980s he became a highly successful NASCAR racing team owner; he sponsored such NASCAR champions as Cale Yarborough and Darrell Waltrip. He is credited with discovering drafting.

Pat Ward won the 35-lap DIRTcar Modified race at the Brewerton Speedway, Brewerton, NY. Larry Wight finished second followed by Jimmy Phelps, Billy Decker and Ron Davis III. The (2) 25-lap DIRTcar Sportsman features were won by Billy Clark Jr. and Corey Barker.
PJ Williams won the 600cc Micro Sprint race over Luke Thomas, Steve Bracall, Whitey Kidd and Mike Rutherford at the Spirit Speedway Quarter Mile track at the Bridgeport Speedway, Swedesboro, NJ . The first of (2) 270cc Micro Sprint features was won by Lee Reinhardt over Alex Swift, Ken Andreas, Nick Walton and Steve Coslop. The second 270cc feature went to Alex Swift followed by Nick Walton, Mike Rutherford, Luke Fogg and Lee Reinhardt.
Matt DeLorenzo won the 35-lap Modified feature at the Albany-Saratoga Speedway, Malta, NY. Marc Johnson was second followed by Rocky Warner, Mike Mahaney and Peter Britten.
Zack Curren won the 40-lap Modified race at the Chemung Speedrome, Chemung, NY.
