Babe Stapp won the 100 lap AAA sanctioned Charlotte Race 3 on the 1.25 Mile Board Oval Charlotte Speedway, Pineville, North Carolina. Cliff Woodbury was second followed by Dave Evans, Peter DePaolo and Leon Duray.
Myron Fohr won the AAA sanctioned Springfield 100 on the 1 Mile Dirt Oval Illinois State Fairgrounds in Springfield, Illinois.

Tony Stewart won the Monday rain-delayed NASCAR Sprint Cup Geico 400 over Kevin Harvick, Dale Earnhardt Jr., Carl Edwards and Brad Keselowski at the Chicagoland Speedway, Joliet, IL.
