Mauri Rose won the AAA sanctioned Syracuse 100 on the 1 Mile Dirt Oval New York State Fairgrounds, Syracuse, New York. George Connor was second followed by Ted Horn, Floyd Davis and George Barringer.
Rex Mays won the AAA sanctioned Syracuse 100 on the 1 Mile Dirt Oval New York State Fairgrounds, Syracuse, New York. George Robson was second followed by Tommy Hinnershitz, George Connor and Shorty Cantlon.
George Robson... Died ... AAA driver 1938 to 1946. Had 3 Indy 500 starts with a win in 1946. Robson died with George Barringer in an accident at the Lakewood Speedway in Atlanta, Georgia.
George Barringer ... Died ... AAA driver from the 1930's and 40's. He ran the Indy 500 six times with a best finish of 6th in 1939. He and George Robson were killed in same multi-car pile-up at the Lakewood Speedway in Atlanta, Georgia.
George Connor won the AAA sanctioned Atlanta 100 on the 1 Mile Dirt Oval Lakewood Speedway, Atlanta, Georgia.
Bill Holland , driving the Malamud #29, won the 20-lap AAA Eastern Sprint Car race at the Flemington Speedway in Flemington, NJ.
Shorty Templeman won the AAA Midget race at the Flat Rock Speedway,Flat Rock, MI.
Bobby Grim won the IMCA Sprint Car race at the Iowa State Fair Speedway,Des Moines, IA.
Bert Brooks, the 1954 URC Sprint Car champion, won the 25-lap NASCAR Stock Car race at the Morristown Speedway,Morristown, NJ. Brooks driving the Calder-Delroy stock car won over Russ Meyer, Joe Rosko, Ray Brown and Tommy Elliott.
Jud Larson won the Ted Horn 100 USAC Champ Car race at the DuQuoin State Fairgrounds, DuQuoin,IL. Johnny Thomson was second followed by Rodger Ward, Elmer George and Bob Veith.
Johnny Pouelson won the IMCA Sprint Car race at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds, St. Paul, MN.
Allen Heath won both of the Twin 50's CRA Sprint Car races at the Ascot Park Speedway (1/2d) , Gardena, CA.
Ernie McCoy won the ARDC Midget race at the Flemington Fair Speedway, Flemington, NJ.
Hank Rogers won the URC Sprint Car race over Ed Terry, Eddie Gallione, Earl Halaquist and Dan Daniels at the Champlain Valley Fairgrounds, Essex Junction,VT.
Elmer George won the USAC Sprint Car race over Parnelli Jones, Jim Hurtubise, Al Keller and A.J. Foyt at the DuQuoin State Fairgrounds, DuQuoin,IL.
Red Riegel won the ARDC Midget race at the Hatfield Speedway, Hatfield, PA.
Jerry Richert won the IMCA Sprint Car race at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds (1/2d), St. Paul, MN.
A.J. Foyt won the Ted Horn Memorial 100 mile Champ Car race at the DuQuoin State Fairgrounds, DuQuoin, IL. Rodger Ward was second followed by Chuck Hulse, Bobby Marshman, Don Branson, Parnelli Jones, Jim McElreath, Jim Hurtubise, Johnny White and Johnny Rutherford.
Bert Brooks... Died ... Eastern midget and sprint car driver from the 1940's, 50's and 60's. He was the United Racing Club (URC) Sprint car champion in 1954, 1956, 1957 and 1958. He died in an ARDC midget race at the Hershey Stadium in Hershey, PA.
Mario Andretti won the Ted Horn Memorial 100 mile USAC Indy Car race at the 1-Mile dirt oval DuQuoin State Fairgrounds, DuQuoin, IL. A.J. Foyt was second followed by Billy Vukovich, Jr., Gary Bettenhausen, Roger McCluskey, Tom Bigelow, Al Unser, Jerry Daniels, George Benson and George Snider.
Buck Buckley won the URC Sprint Car race over Leroy Felty, Bing Metz, Mike Grbac and Leigh Earnshaw at the Flemington Fair Speedway, Flemington,NJ.
Hank Rogers, Jr. won the ARDC Midget race at the Grandview Speedway, Bechtelsville,PA. Leigh Earnshaw finished second followed by Doug Craig, Jim Hettinger and Billy Hughes.
