Glenndon Forsythe earns $5,000 in the Pigeon Hills
ABBOTTSTOWN, PA (August 19, 2017) - York, Pennsylvania’s Glenndon Forsythe held off some of the best in the business on Saturday night in the Pigeon Hills, ultimately scoring a first-ever Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions victory in front of a packed house at the “Fabulous” Lincoln Speedway. Moving into the top spot for the first time on lap two, Forsythe led 29 of the 30 circuits to score his $5,000 payday, crossing by the flagstand for the final time with Chad Kemenah and Cory Haas in tow.
“I couldn’t be happier for this team right now,” Glenndon Forsythe said in victory lane. “Tonight was Dynatech Controls Night and they had their company picnic out in the parking lot before the races. Mark, the owner of the company, was here tonight and it was his first time so I’m glad to get this done for him.”
A pair of York natives, Cory Haas and Glenndon Forsythe, led the field to green on Saturday night at the “Fabulous” Lincoln Speedway. Haas got the early jump, soon overtaken by Forsythe as the pair raced through turns one and two on the following lap. Despite a pair of cautions during the first six circuits, Forsythe was able to maintain his command and stretch his advantage to nearly two seconds during certain segments of the first 15 laps.
Forsythe reached traffic for the first time just before the halfway point of the 30-lap main event, continuing to ring the topside of the speedway with Haas following less than one second behind. Danny Dietrich soon entered the picture after charging forward from ninth on the grid. The nearby Gettysburg native moved into third on lap 16, just before caution flags reappeared on lap 17 for Arctic Cat All Star Rookie of the Year contender, Tyler Esh. Esh, who started fourth, raced his way into third by lap seven, but during his later battle with Dietrich in traffic, lost the handle and ended his night upside-down in turn one. Esh walked away unharmed.
Green flag conditions returned to the speedway once again with Forsythe immediately returning to a commanding lead, extending his advantage to nearly two seconds by lap 24 over Haas and “Double-D” Danny Dietrich. Traffic came back into play on lap 25 setting up a three-car battle between Forsythe, Haas and Dietrich. As lapped traffic intensified, so did the battle for the lead. Forsythe continued to pound the cushion leaving the bottom open for Haas and Dietrich, soon joined by defending Arctic Cat All Star champion, Chad Kemenah.
Just as Forsythe took the white flag, caution flags appeared once again, this time setting up a green-white-checkered restart attempt. The first attempt failed as Danny Dietrich spun between turns one and two. The second green-white-checkered restart was a success for Glenndon Forsythe, holding back a final corner lunge by Chad Kemenah and Cory Haas.
“I looked up at the scoreboard at one point and saw that the ‘48’ and the ‘39’ were up there. The ‘39’ was up there the whole time, so I knew he wasn’t a slouch,” Forsythe explained. “To be honest, I was happy to see that yellow come out with just a few laps remaining. Traffic was getting intense and I was starting to fall out of the seat. But this is Lincoln; if you get going well, you’re going to hit traffic. That yellow gave me the break that I needed.”
A visit to Susquehanna Speedway near York Haven on Sunday, August 20, will conclude the Arctic Cat All Star swing through The Keystone State. Honoring the late Justin Snyder, Tony Stewart’s All Stars will take part in the Salute to the Troops program during their visit to the 4/10-mile oval, awarding a $5,000 top prize, as well as $500 to the evening’s fastest qualifier on behalf of Emory Transmissions, and $200 to the evening’s main event hard charger on behalf of Brown & Miller Racing Solutions.
Susquehanna Speedway will open pit gates at 4:30pm on Sunday, August 20. A mandatory drivers meeting will be held at 5:45pm, followed by hot laps at 6:15pm, sharp. Those seeking additional news and notes should visit the speedway live on the Web at www.susquehannaspeedway.net.

PFEIL, DEGLAS, PETERS AND MA NATURE ARE WINNERS IN HATIELD MEATS NIGHT NASCAR ACTION AT GRANDVIEW SPEEDWAY SATURDAY
RAINED OUT FEATURES RESCHEDULED FOR AUGUST 26TH AND SEPTEMBER 2ND
BECHTELSVILLE, PA. August 20, 2017 . . . Wayne Pfeil won his second 20-lap BRC NASCAR Late Model Feature of the season on Saturday night at Grandview Speedway by holding off the challenges of runner-up Steve Todorow in the activities sponsored by Hatfield Quality Meats.
Dominique Deglas won the 15-lap Blast From The Past Vintage Class feature while Brett Peters was the victor in the 15-lap Vintage Modified Division feature.
Before the sportsman consolation race, the 358 T.P. Trailers 30-lap NASCAS Modified feature and the 25-lap NASCAR Sportsman feature could be completed, rain postponed the conclusion of the show. This is the eighth event of the season impacted by rain.
Saturday, August 26 the show will start at 7:30 p.m. with the Sportsman consi, the 25-lap Sportsman feature and a complete triple header event topped off with a Late Model, Modified and Sportsman qualifying events and features. All will be part of the BRC Superior Products with Late Models topping the show with a 30-lap feature. Thousands of dollars in product and merchandise awards will be available to Late Model racers displaying BRC decals on both sides of their race car.
The 30-lap rained out Modified feature will kick off the September 2 show followed by qualifying events and features for the Late Models, Modified and Sportsman.
In the 20-lap BRC NASCAR Late Model feature Kyle Merkel led four laps before Pfeil made an outside pass to become the new leader on the fifth circuit.
A second turn spin by Shawn Horning brought out the yellow on the sixth lap. Before action resumed, Merkel went pit side with mechanical problems. Pfeil maintained the lead on the restart with Todorow, Bryon Sipe, Chuck Schutz and Steve Wilson in tow.
Todorow made several runs on Pfeil, who developed a bad push in the turns, but couldn’t make the pass to overtake first.
Pfeil managed to keep the competition behind despite his handling issues and pulled into Victory Lane for his 11th career win trailed by Todorow, Sipe, Schutz and Wilson.
In the Vintage feature Deglas passed leader bobby Hall on the sixth lap and went on to claim the win followed by Andy Cassel, Hall, Bill Gerhart and Rick Mutter.
Todd Lapp set the pace in the Modified Vintage feature for four laps until Peters got past him and went on to claim the win followed by Randy Bailey, Doug Stepanchuk, Ron Myers and Mike Kelly.
Modified heat winners were Brett Kressley, Steve Swinehart and Clay Butler. Mike Mahaney won the consi.
Heat winners in the Sportsman were Andrew Kreis, Jack Butler and Steve Young.

410 SPRINTS & MODIFIEDS IN ‘THE ULTIMATE DOUBLE HEADER’ AT NEW EGYPT WEDNESDAY AUGUST 23
NEW EGYPT, NJ (August 19, 2017) – After a drenching rain halted the original run of the Pioneer Pole Buildings Jersey Rush VII, the event will go on Wednesday night, August 23 at the New Egypt Speedway. The most popular racing divisions in the area – the 410 Sprint Cars and the Modifieds – combine for an all-out battle of the best racers around. This thrilling double division main event will kick off with an exclusive pre-race pit party for all race fans from 5 to 6 PM. Come out early and meet the drivers before the racing event gets underway at 7:30 PM.
The 410 Sprint Cars will race for a $5,000 pay day with $1,000 going to the tenth place finisher and $300 to start the A-main. The area’s fastest Sprint Car drivers will compete in 10 lap heat races – set from time trials, and a 12 lap B-Main before the 30 lap main event. Only approved Hoosier H-Series tires will be eligible for competition.
Previous Jersey Rush winners Ryan Smith and JJ Grasso are among the stars looking to score wins in the Garden State. While fan favorites like Danny Dietrich and Lucas Wolfe are chasing their first victories at the Jersey dirt track.
A Big-Block vs. Small-Block Modifieds challenge will offer a $3,000 top prize with $1,000 going to the fifth-place finisher and $250 to start the feature event. The top-12 heat race finishers will redraw for feature starting positions. Modifieds MUST use American Racer tires with a left rear 44 compound and a right rear 48 compound. Competitors have the option of running a Big-Block with windows or a spec Small-Block with Sail Panels. Big-Blocks must weigh a minimum of 2,500 lbs.; Open Small Blocks must weigh a minimum of 2,450 lbs. and use windows; Spec Small Blocks on alcohol must weigh a minimum of 2,350 lbs. and on gas a minimum of 2,275 lbs. and have the option to run sail panels.
Modified competitors like Billy Pauch Jr, Ryan Godown, Danny Bouc, Duane Howard, Rick Laubach and Jeff Strunk are all expected to be in attendance

Before the racing action, fans will be treated to a special pre-race Meet and Greet from 5:00-6:00 PM. All race fans are welcome to visit the pit area and get an up-close look at the stars and cars competing in the JERSEY RUSH VII. Spectators can enter the pit area from the gate behind the fourth turn grandstands.
Adult Admission for Jersey Rush VII is $30, Children (6-11): $10 and Children 5 and under are FREE! Pit admission is $35 with no license required.

MECHANICSBURG, PA (August 18, 2017) - Taking advantage of Rico Abreu’s misfortune, “Double-D” Danny Dietrich earned his way back to Williams Grove Speedway victory lane against the Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions, this time claiming the 35th Annual Jack Gunn Memorial worth $5,000. After starting third on the feature grid, the Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, native led the final 12 laps of the 30-lap program to claim his second Arctic Cat All Star victory of the 2017 season; his ninth career appearance in victory lane with “America’s Series.”
Sammy Swindell, aboard the Mark Coldren-owned No. 07, finished second on Friday night at “The Grove,” followed by Greg Hodnett, Lance Dewease and Lucas Wolfe.
“I can’t say enough about these guys who are standing behind me,” Danny Dietrich said. “They work hard and it really shows. We’re starting to get this season really turned around. We have two more races this weekend with Lincoln tomorrow and Susquehanna on Sunday. Those are tracks we are really comfortable with. Our goal is to get one or two more wins this weekend. That is the plan, anyhow.”
Lucas Wolfe and Rico Abreu led the 25 starters to green on Friday night at Williams Grove Speedway. Abreu earned the early jump and raced to the front of the running order ahead of Lucas Wolfe and Danny Dietrich. Those three battled in the same order for the first nine circuits, reaching the tail end of the field for the first time with just seven laps in the books.
Despite Abreu’s advantage stretching to nearly two seconds in clean air, heavy traffic eventually negated all of his earned momentum allowing Wolfe and Dietrich to close the gap in a hurry. By lap ten, Dietrich, who mastered the bottom groove of the speedway to navigate through traffic, was able to make a bid for second over Wolfe and succeeded, ultimately moving his focus ahead to the Abreu Vineyards/Priority Aviation/No. 24.
Fortunately for Dietrich, his hunt for the front flourished easier than predicted, as Abreu became victim of a flat left rear tire, turning the St. Helena, California, native completely around near the exit of turn two. Dietrich was able to avoid Abreu’s spin and inherit the lead with 18 circuits in the books.
After a failed attempt to resume action on the lap 19 restart, and open red conditions taking over the speedway as the result of a spectator injury in the infield, Dietrich led the field back to green now with Sammy Swindell and Greg Hodnett in tow. The trio raced in clean air until traffic reappeared on lap 27, allowing Swindell to close in on Dietrich for one final lunge. “Double-D” proved to be too strong in traffic, eventually separating himself from Swindell with two lapped cars just before the final checkers. The final margin of victory was nearly two seconds.
“We love when guys like Rico [Abreu] and Tony [Stewart] come to race with us in Central PA. It is good for the sport and it is good for the tracks in this area,” Dietrich explained, pilot of the Gary Kauffman Racing/Weikert’s Livestock/Sandoe’s Fruit Market/Pace Performance/Gsell’s Whitetails/Hickory Run Orchards/Carlisle Auto Salvage/CATS Used Truck Parts/Drop Of Ink Tattoo/Bowman Block & Head Repair/Sweeney Cars/Self Made/No. 48. “I knew Rico was going to be good, but we were really good around the bottom. Lucky for me, I have a lot of experience at this place and know what I have to do to get around it. This isn’t my kind of track surface tonight, but we were pretty fast all night. We’ll take this and move forward.”
Arctic Cat All Star action will move to the “Fabulous” Lincoln Speedway in Abbottstown on Saturday, August 19. Much like Grandview, Lincoln Speedway will host the Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions on one occasion in 2017. The last time the Tony Stewart-owned organization invaded the Pigeon Hills, it was “Double-D” Danny Dietrich scoring the victory, beating Alan Krimes and Lucas Wolfe to the final checkers.

Donny Schatz Doubles Up at River Cities
Schatz scores 17th WoO win of season and NLRA Late Model win in home state
Grand Forks, ND - August 18, 2017 - Six days after winning sprint car's biggest prize - the 5-Hour ENERGY Knoxville Nationals - for the 10th time, Donny Schatz landed in Victory Lane in his home state, twice. Schatz outdueled Brad Sweet to win his 17th feature of the 2017 season at River Cities. To make things sweeter, Schatz also picked up the NLRA Late Model feature earlier in the night.
When asked if he learned anything from winning the 25-lap Late Model feature, Schatz said with a smile, "I learned that I am not in as good of shape as I think I am."
Sheldon Haudenschild led the first eight laps, in search of his first career World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series victory, before getting loose off of turn two and losing the lead to Brad Sweet. Schatz worked underneath Haudenschild shortly after and was second when the red flag flew for Canadian driver Thomas Kennedy, who was uninjured in the accident, on lap 12.
Sweet led the next three laps before Schatz pulled ahead with grip on the bottom on the 16th circuit. A lap 17 yellow for sixth place running Dominic Scelzi was the final stoppage of the event. Following the caution, Schatz and Sweet continued their duel and were side by side for multiple laps with Sweet being scored as the leader on the 18th lap. Schatz regained the lead on lap 19 and never looked back masterfully maneuvering through lapped traffic.
"It's a huge weekend for this race team. Speaking of this race team...it is incredible what they do and an honor to drive their race car," Schatz said.
Sweet settled for second. "The Ollie's Bargain Outlet car was fast all night. I probably should have ran the bottom, but it's hard to judge traffic when you are the leader. Donny's always the guy to beat here, we'll take our second and move on," the Grass Valley, CA native said.
Australian Kerry Madsen finished on the podium, thanked his GoMuddy.com team and Guy Forbook for a great race car and praised River Cities Speedway with the statement, "Grand Forks never disappoints."
Daryn Pittman and Jason Johnson completed the top five. Mark Dobmeier was the KSE Hard Charger coming from 21st to finish sixth.
Saturday night the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series returns to the Red River Valley Speedway in West Fargo, ND. The race was originally scheduled for June 17th, but Mother Nature postponed it. For more information on Saturday's event at Red River Valley Speedway click here.

BOAT SINKS PA MIDGET WEEK VICTORY NO. 2 IN LINDA'S USAC MIDGET DEBUT

Jonestown, Pennsylvania..... August 17, 2017 - The Keystone state suited Chad Boat like a glove during "Pennsylvania Midget Week" as the Phoenix, Arizona native capped the four-race series with his second victory of the week in the USAC Midget National Championship's debut at Linda's Speedway.
Like last year, Boat got into the flow when the calendar flipped to the month of August. In 2016, he won three of four to begin the month while this year, it was three of six with a "Belleville Midget Nationals" prelim win serving as a prelude to his two wins in Pennsylvania.

Boat's ownership of the month of August over the past two seasons may seem like a strange, coincidental anomaly, but to him, it makes perfect sense considering their racing schedule.
"Obviously, you'd like to start the season out faster," Boat acknowledges. "We were trying some different things at the beginning of the year, but now we've figured out what we like. I think a lot of it is because we run so few times a year. A lot of these guys will race 60 times this year while this is only our 21st race. That puts us at a little bit of a disadvantage and it takes us a little while to catch up."
From the get-go, Boat was silky smooth through the middle in his Tucker-Boat Motorsports/PristineAuction.com - K & C Drywall/Spike/Speedway Toyota as he powered away to an eventual one-and-a-half second lead by the 11th lap over Shane Golobic and Tyler Courtney as the front of the field began to wade into lapped traffic. Every car on the track ahead of Boat seemed to be involved in a furious, side-by-side battle for position, making navigating inside, outside or between them a treacherous chore that allowed Golobic to get close enough to stick his foot in the door.
However, a substantial break came to Boat just prior to the halfway point in the form of two simultaneous spins involving teammates Alex Bright and Andrew Layser at opposite ends of the racetrack to bring out the yellow. That instantly cleared out the traffic for Boat to provide him clear sailing ahead.
"Traffic was tricky," Boat admits. "I got to traffic and I wasn't that much better than them. They were kind of holding me up, so when that caution came, it fell at the right time."
Cautions inherently bring restarts and nobody was in the same zip code as Boat when it came to that category. Time-and-time again, Boat used a monstrous surge when the green flag dropped to capture a healthy advantage.
"It goes back to our engines that make us take off so well," Boat praised. "I definitely wanted to find the grip and I knew if I put my car where the grip was, I'd have a great restart. Usually, you can tell if you're having a good restart or not. I also tried to change it up as much as I could to keep Shane guessing on what I was going to do. I felt comfortable with Shane behind me. He's one of the cleanest drivers in the field. If he was better than me, he'd get by me. If he wasn't better than me, we'd race it out to the end."

On a lap 20 restart following a yellow brought about for a flat left rear tire on the car of ninth-place-running/ARDC point leader Ryan Greth, Golobic was able to stay within shirt-tugging distance of Boat for the first lap. Gradually, Boat got away, this time to a seven-tenths of a second clip two laps following the restart until action relented again when Eric Heydenreich flipped on the back straight entering turn three. He would walk away.
On the final restart with nine to go, Golobic was able to stick a nose underneath and pull even with Boat entering turn one. Boat was unfazed and remained on his line through the middle to inch ahead by the time the pair exited the second turn.
"I knew I could run as hard as I possibly could for nine laps, just like a heat race," Boat relayed. "I felt really good, especially in the first two laps after a restart. I started getting a little bit loose on entry and then slid up. I didn't know exactly where I wanted to be. I just knew if I kept running it hard and he showed me a nose, I could move down. He showed me a little bit of nose, so I moved down slightly in (turns) one and two."
Yet, in the final three laps, Golobic found new life as Boat's line began to fade slightly. Golobic dug out two-tenths per lap on the interval between he and Boat and, on the final lap, entering turn three for the final time, was able pull side-by-side briefly with Boat through the middle of the corner. Boat had the momentum higher up on the surface to clear Golobic and win his third of the month over Golobic, Spencer Bayston, Courtney and Justin Grant.
While many of the ARDC regulars have extensive experience at Linda's with it being a regular stop on their season schedule, it was the first appearance by USAC's National Midget contingent. You often hear a driver explain the difficulties of leading, which creates a situation behind them where they are not fully aware of how their closest competition is running and how they are adapting to the changes in the track.
That becomes doubly complicated when competing on a track for the initial time, yet it also evens the playing field when the track is an unknown quantity to everyone, as was the case Thursday night at Linda's.
"I just tried to stay aggressive, run it as hard as I could and not let the car slip," Boat explained. "I knew if I was driving forward, I had good bite and I could keep running there. I tried to move around; there was a hole in turn three that made it a little bit tricky. Shane (Golobic) was running below it and I was running above it. My line started wearing out a little bit in the end. I could feel myself getting looser and sliding up more on entry, so I was definitely glad to see the race coming to an end."

BECHTESLVILLE, PA (August 17, 2017) – In front of a jam-packed NAPA Auto Parts Thunder on the Hill Racing Series crowd, Freddie Rahmer of Salfordville, PA became a third-generation winner at Grandview Speedway collecting the victory in the 3rd Annual Thunder Cup presented by Levan Machine and Truck Equipment.
“My Dad won here, My Grandfather won here, I can’t begin to tell you how much it means to win here,” an elated Freddie Rahmer said in victory lane.
Mark Smith of Sunbury, PA and Ryan Smith of Kunkletown, PA led the 26 car field to the green flag. Mark Smith pulled to the lead quickly with Ryan Smith close in tow, and Freddie Rahmer powering past Swindell into the third spot.
The leaders hit heavy lapped traffic on the sixth circuit around the one-third mile – with Mark Smith weaving in and out of cars, extending his lead over the pack. Smith’s sizable lead was short lived as traffic closed the gap between the top runners giving Ryan Smith the opportunity to pounce on Mark Smith.
A Lap 13 red flag flew for Hunter Mackison, who got upside down in turn 2, clearing the boiler plate and landing off the race track. The incident that retired Mackison and Brandon Rahmer.
Mark Smith charged back to the top spot when the race resumed, while Ryan Smith fought hard for the second spot with Freddie Rahmer. Rahmer dove to the inside of the race track crossing under Ryan Smith, but Smith battled back on the inside.
The yellow flag flew on lap 21 for Brandon Spithaler. During the yellow flag, the right rear tire of leader, Mark Smith’s machine went flat sending the No. M1 pit side. Fortunately for Smith, a caution on the restart allowed him to change the tire and rejoin the field.
Ryan Smith inherited the lead and charged to the top side of turn one on the restart, maintaining control on the top side of the one-third-mile speedway. Smith held the top spot for four circuits before Rahmer was able to shoot toward the inside of the race track completing the pass on lap 25.
It was all Rahmer for the balance of the 35-lap feature event, maintaining a lead of five-car-lengths when the checkered flag flew.
Ryan Smith would settle for the second position, Spring Grove, PA’s Greg Hodnett in the third spot, St. Helena, CA’s Rico Abreu in fourth, and Phoenixville, PA’s Brian Montieth rounding out the top five.
Alan Krimes of Denver, PA took home a $150 hard-charger bonus. Chad Kemenah set Quick time of the evening with a lap of 11.545. Heat races were won by Sammy Swindell, Dale Blaney, Ryan Smith, and Mark Smith.
Minersville, PA’s Mike Lisowski scored a hard fought victory in the 25-lap Sportsman feature, collecting a $1,300 winner’s share.
Nathan Mohr and Jack Butler led the 24-car field to the green flag with Butler jumping out to the early lead and dominating the first-half of the racing event. Lisowski – from a fifth place starting position – moved into third in the early stages of the event, and despite multi-car battles took the lead just passed the halfway point.
Lisowski’s main challenge came mid-way through the race when Jordan Henn powered from a 12th place starting position to battle for the top spot. No one could dethrone Lisowski, who claimed the victory.
Ryan Higgs came home in the second position, Louden Reimert in third, Joe Funk in fourth, and current Grandview weekly point leader, Brian Hirthler.
The NAPA Auto Parts Thunder on the Hill Racing Series returns on Saturday, October 14 for Mods at the Madhouse. A Big-Block vs. Small-Block challenge event that also includes Sportsman, and MASS 305 Sprint Cars.
