Fred Rahmer Promotions to Award $10,000 at Path Valley for PA Speedweek
Mandee Pauch Relations - Spring Run, P.A. – June 25, 2018 - Fred Rahmer Promotions brought to you by Leffler Energy and Pioneer Pole Buildings returns to Path Valley Speedway Park during Pennsylvania Speedweek on Sunday, July 1stfor the fifth annual Fred Rahmer Promotions event showcasing the heart pounding, breathtaking, 410 sprint cars.
“I feel very fortunate that we’re able to be a part of Pennsylvania Speedweek,” said promoter Fred Rahmer. “We only get to do one race a year. We thought a great way to give back to the racers would be to pay a bigger purse for this year’s event. It’s $7,000 to win at most shows that week but it was a no brainer for me to go to $10,000. Last year we had such a great show and turnout so we’re looking to make this year’s bigger and better for both the drivers and fans.”
After a successful career as a driver, Fred Rahmer hung up his helmet and pursued his career as a race promoter. After landing a date during Pennsylvania Sprint Car Speedweek back in 2014, one of the biggest events of the year, the 13x Pennsylvania Speedweek Champion’s business as a promoter skyrocketed.
This year’s fifth annual Fred Rahmer Promotions event of the Pennsylvania Sprint Car Speedweek swing is paying one of the highest purses of the week which is sure to attract some of the biggest names in sprint car racing to the fast ¼-mile, banked clay oval.
“We’re looking to give back to the racers with a better payout than years before and make sure the fans get what they want.”
The 2018 Pennsylvania Sprint Car Speedweek will feature ten straight nights of racing at seven different speedways beginning at Williams Grove on Friday, June 29thwith the Fred Rahmer Promotions event at Path Valley Speedway being stop no.3 on Sunday, July 1stof the very popular summer tradition.
The ¼-mile dirt track, known for its high speed, multi-groove, racing will once again feature a spectacle with the fastest cars on dirt.
Headlining the night will be the 410 sprint cars in a full program of qualifying time trials, heat races, and a 50-lap main event.
“This year we’re going to have the sprint cars be the only division,” added Rahmer. “I’d like to try and get everyone in and out in a decent amount of time, so everyone can get home early enough to get to the next speed week show.”
The 50-lap main event will pay a hefty $10,000 to win, $3,500 for second and $400 to take the green.
Courtesy of Emory’s Transmission (Camp Hill, PA), there will be $500 up for grabs for the driver who sets quick time as well as a $500 bonus to the hard charger in the 50-lap feature event courtesy of Wayne S. Corini, Certified Public Accountant.
Last year saw the Elk Grove, C.A. native, Kyle Larson, cross a victory off of his bucket list against 43 other drivers by capturing the 40-lap main event in front of a standing room only crowd. Who will stand on top of the podium and take the checkers this year?
Both pit and grand stand gates will open for the Pennsylvania Speedweek show at 2pm. Time trials will get underway at 7:30pm.
Overnight camping will be available for those that would like the full experience.
The 1/4-mile, banked clay oval in Spring Run, PA may be small, but it is mighty. All fans will be guaranteed some of the tightest wheel-to-wheel action you’ll see during Pennsylvania Sprint Car Speedweek.
