Hamlin, PA -Hamlin Speedway Rocks The Pocono Mountains With Another Great Show

Hamlin Speedway Promoters Randy and Denise Smith welcomed in another energetic group of racers on Saturday evening, on a day that smelled of some great racing going to take place. The racing was over the top notch all of the way in all divisions and another great crowd was on hand to witness what will be another great season at the speedway. The Hamlin driving stars used all channels of the meticulously manicured 1/5th mile clay cushioned attraction to keep the fans the fans on their feet throughout the evening of speed. They all came out to the Pocono Mountains to place their marks on the "Pearl of the Poconos" racing facility. The high flying racing action was sponsored by the good folks at S&S Speedways Indoor Go Karts located in Stroudsburg, PA. Seven happy and elated winners found their way to the Hamlin Speedway Winners Circle at the end of the evening of racing action. The seven feature show was completed at 10.32 PM.

The Saturday night action found "The Electric Man" Colin White stealing the show with a show-stopping drive from eighth starting position to seal his win over "The Big Show" Joey Amantea in the JPA Masonry Wingless 600 Feature event. The Super Slinger feature found "The Fighting Irishman" John Gilroy winning the event by a country mile. Announcer Steve Pados anounced the division roster trackside and sent the kids on their way with Kasey Hufcut capturing the Amantea Real Estate Junior Slingshot event with a great run to the checkered flag. Scott Neary wired the fiield in the All Star Slingshot match-up for his second win in succession at the speedway. Tanner Van Doren wired the field in the Hampton RV & Trailer Sales finale Deniis Chamberlain exhibited patience as well as a hot-rod racer that had more than enough for the field behind him as he captured the PA Masonry Wingless 600 Rookie Sprint event.

In the JPA Masonry sponsored Wingless 600 Main event, it would be veteran Joseph Smith rushing out front on the initial start of the event with behind him, a gagle of racers looking for the channel with which to do their magic from. Joey Amantea found it first as the young star grabbed the lead on lap seven and held it until lap twelve when Colin White went whizzing by him. White had a full head of steam at the time and took over the lead and lead until track starter Russ Furry showed him the checkered flag. Amantea held on for second place with Mick D'Agostino once again being steady in his run in third place. Paul Richards was fourth and Tyler LIndsay hustled to fifth place.Behind the top five were Cody Smith, who ran from last starting place in the feature event. Aiden Borden, Mike Myers, Doug Snyder, and Noah Zielisnki would complete the top ten running order.

The Super Slingshot feature event found John Gilroy getting a great start as he raced away from the field with impressive laps in his number 20 Gilroy Northeast racing machine sponsored race car. "The Comet" Paul Ennes took up the chase but could not catch the high flying Gilroy and then had to deal with Dale Kober coming back through the field to challenge the front runners. Gilroy was in full swing as he was hitting his speedway marks as he raced far and away from those chasing him down. Giory won the event with Ennes, Kober, steady Jimmy Conroy and Wes Hearn finish in the top five places. Greg Zellman, David Guest and Mark Exeter rounded out the field.

Kasey Hufcut raced into the lead at the start of the Amantea Real Estate Junior Slingshot event and he raced with himself for most of the evening as he left the remainder of the field in his wiake. RJ Sherman began from ninth starting position but it just made him better as he raced through the field to get into the runner-up role late in the event. James Hendricks finished third for the second week in sucession and Charlene Benz recovered from an early lap spin to come and nail down fourth spot in a great drive for the New Jersey racer. Aiden Elliot rounded out the top five. Chase Zimmer, Connor Mirabelli, Ashton DeWitt, Doug Smith and Kylie Hendricks rounded out the top ten finishers.

On the JPA Masonry Rookie 600 Sprint event it would be the newcomer Michael Nolf putting on a great show early on as he raced into the lead at the start of the event and led until lap nine when stering problems slowed his pace. That moment in time gave Dennis Strawisnsky what he was seeking as the young man assumed command of the lead as he led until lap 18 when he too was slowed by a mechanical problem. Dennis Chamberlain, who was following, took over the lead and led until the event was checkered. Newcomer Stephen Weirich did a great job in the runner-up role as he raced through the field from seventh spot. Jake Eby was also strong as he came through the pack as well. Jack Hanna was fourth in this one and Tony Parlanti finished fifth. Michael Nolf held on for sixth place while behind him were Justin Newhard, Morgan Rochelle, Rich Maguire, the returning Brandon Nicholas, Cody Powell and Carmen Leggio Sr.

In the All Star Slingshot feature event, it would be Scott Neary grabbing up the lead early on in this one and drive to a close win over a young lady who was giving him fits all night long in Shelby McLaughlin. Taylor Mills hustled to third place with Dale Kober and Austin Silfee rounding out the top five. Andrew Turpin, Paul Ennes, Ashley Kober, Amber Baccaglini and James Benz rounded out the top ten.

In the rained out event from May 11th, Taylor Mills showed his All STar Slingshot roster the fast was around the facility as he wired the field in a great run for the win. Wes Hearn chased him all through the event but could not muster a challenge for the lead. CJ Fritz was third . Scott Neary fourth and Austin Silfee rounded out the top five. Dale Kober headed up the next five with Brian Smith, Paul Ennes, Shebly McLaughlin and Andrew Turpin filling in the next spots.

In the Hampton RV & Trailer Sales Stage One Modfiieds, "TVD" Tanner Van Dohren was in command from the beginning of the event. Joel Price took up the chase from his second place start but he remained as the runner-up from start to finish. Behind the two leaders was where the action was as one by one each racer tried his best best at moving up a notch or two before it was over. Adam Buchel raced to third early with Anmthony Chrobak utilizing the top of the raceway to race into fourth. Michael Samony was fifth in this one. Evan Civisk, Jeff Hineline, Lawson Scerencitz, James Cosgrove and John Bachetti Jr rounded out the top ten in this wicked battle for positions.

Kudos to Randy Smith for an excellent track surface that once again found the drivers utilizing the many racing channels throughout the evening of competition. Additional time was taken to keep the track surface smooth and tacky throughout the evening of speed. With the new clay laid down this week, the track was mirror smooth and racy from top to bottom.

The Super Slingshot heat found John Gilroy returning to action with a victory in the heat action. Rookie 600 Sprint heats were claimed by Dennis Chamberlain and "The Whiz Kid" Jack Hannah. Kasey Hufcut and James hendricks countered with wins in the Junior Slingshots. . Adam and Amanda Buchel were the heat winners in the Stage One Modifieds. CJ Fritz and "The Ambassador" Wes Hearn captured the heat wins for the All Star Slingshots. JPA Masonry Wingless Heats were captured by Paul Richards Jr and "The Taylor Tornado" Zac Weisenfluh.
