SUNOCO RACE FUELS/INSINGER PERFORMANCE, A MAJOR SPONSOR, WILL OFFER AN ATTENTION GRABBING DISPLAY AT THE PPB MOTORSPORTS 2019 RACECAR AND TRADE SHOW
OAKS, PA January 9, 2019 . . . For the seventh year in a row Sunoco Race Fuels and Insinger Performance, major sponsors of the annual Pioneer Pole Buildings Motorsports 2019 Racecar & Trade Show will be showing off with one of the real attention grabber displays during the three day, January 18-20, show taking place at the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center in Oaks, PA.
Insinger Performance is a master distributor of Sunoco Race Fuels. They offer all products from Sunoco found at www.racegas.com. They also are the number 1 supplier of 99.9% Methanol in the northeast US. They service the Racing Industries as well as the Oil & Gas Industry with the purest methanol available.
Insinger Performance was started in 1987 by Bruce Insinger as the Owner and CEO of the company. Bruce has grown the business by creating a network of dealers that extend from Maryland into Canada. Through hard work and customer satisfaction the business, headquartered in Dushore, PA, has grown steadily every year.
Four of their sponsored racing vehicles will be on display during the show that has more than 200 race vehicles filling the more than 200,000 square feet of show space offering just about everything imaginable in motorsports.
Boyertown, PA’s Mike Gular, the T.P.Trailers NASCAR 358 Modified champion at Grandview Speedway will have his race car on display. He also won the prestigious STSS Hard Clay finale. Overall, he finished 4th in the North region Short Track Super Series standings, just 18 points off the lead. Mike took these checkered flags while burning Sunoco Race Fuel supplied by Insinger Performance.
Harry Gerb will have his Bristol, PA based H&J Motorsports 1968 Pontiac Firebird 8.50 Index Drag Racer on display. Harry Gerb and his family have been campaigning this championship winning car for years and over that time have earned top notch honors. This undeniable success can be attributed to the Sunoco Fuel they use and the support received by Insinger Performance to keep the team running consistent. H & J have tallied up 4 track championships, collected 3 NHRA "Wallys", 16 overall wins and multiple #1 qualifying efforts.
The third race car in the display will be the BBY Racing Ford Mustang Boss 302R Endurance car based in Colts Neck, NJ. BBY Racing is a winning endurance race team that fields cars in American Endurance Racing, NASA, SCCA and Champ Car Endurance events. These events are a test of man and machine as they range from 9 to 24 Hours of competition. The team relies on Sunoco Race fuels because of their consistency, extreme performance and quality in these harsh racing conditions. And they rely on Insinger Performance to supply all the teams' fuel needs across their entire east coast schedule. Team owners Alex and son Eric Rockwell had a very successful 2018. The Mustang on display at Motorsports this year participated in 10 races. The Boss finished with an astonishing record of 6 Wins, 2 - 2nd places, 1 - 3rd place, 5 track records and 3 pole positions.
And the fourth car in the Sunoco Race Fuels/Insinger Performance display area will be the Flying Lizard Racing Team Porsche 997 GT3 RSR #55693062 Vintage Road Race car out of Sonoma, California. They were selected by Porsche Motorsport North America to be their development partner for the 997 GT3 RSR with which they were victorious several times in the American Le Mans Series. The Porsche 997 on display at Motorsports debuted at Sebring in March 2005 running Sunoco Fuel in the tank. In ALMS competition over the next several years, the car never finishing out of the top ten in class and posted a 4th in class-18th overall performance during the 2006 season in France while at the 24hr Le Mans. The car now participates in vintage races still with Sunoco Race Fuel on board. Most recently in September 2018, it ran at the RennSport Reunion at Mazda Raceway in Laguna Seca, CA.
The three day Pioneer Pole Buildings Motorsports 2019 show will have NASCAR Hall of Famers Darrell Waltrip and Ray Evernham appearing along with NASCAR Monster Energy Cup Rookie of the Year contender Ryan Preece.
There will be a large number of displays with speedways offering information on their 2019 seasons. Hardcore racing vendors will be a big part of the show and fans will have the opportunity to gain some bargains from vendors offering collectible items. A number of free industry seminars will be offered.
Also sure to be a crowd pleaser will be the “Reading Speedway Reunion.” That event will be dedicated to the memory of the great racing action THAT took place at Pa.’s Reading Fairgrounds Speedway before it closed 40 years ago. Drivers and team members who competed at that track will attend to meet the fans, and there will be a large display of vintage race cars that ran at Reading.
One of the most popular events during the three day show will be and has been the Ms. Motorsports Pageant sponsored by Aqua Duck Water Transport that will see one woman walk off with a $1,500 cash prize along with a poster deal.
PPB Motorsports 2019 opens on Friday, January 18 at 2 p.m., then at 11 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday. The show closes at 9 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and at 4 p.m. on Sunday. On Sunday, all children 12 and under are FREE with a parent.

SPRINT CAR CHAMPION BRIAN MONTIETH TEAMS WITH CAR OWNER JOE MICHALSKI FOR NAPA RACING WEEKEND ASSAULT IN ATLANTIC CITY INDOOR AUTO RACING SERIES JANUARY 24-26; EYES GAMBLERS CLASSIC VICTORY
ATLANTIC CITY, NJ January 8, 2019 . . . Lincoln Speedway's reigning 410 Sprint champion Brian Montieth of Phoenixville, PA, and the Langhorne, PA-based Michalski Racing Team will join forces for an assault on the NAPA Know How Racing Weekend inside Atlantic City's famed Boardwalk Hall. The team, sponsored by JR Heating & Air Conditioning has an eye on taking the top prize in the 17th annual Gamblers Classic, the climactic event of the January 25th and 26th competition.
Brett Michalski, 25, whose father Joe owns the team Montieth will drive for, recently completed his first year of 410 Sprint racing in Central Pennsylvania. Brett finished 11th in Lincoln Speedway season standings, earning the Rookie Of The Year award for his achievements.
It was at Lincoln where a friendship was forged between rookie Michalski and veteran Montieth, who is one of Lincoln Speedway's all-time winningest 410 Sprint drivers. The union to race together in Atlantic City was facilitated by Tom Fraschetta, King Of Prussia, PA, for whom Montieth recently raced in the East Coast Indoor Dirt Nationals in Trenton, NJ last month. Michalski and Fraschetta had known one another through their days in Quarter Midgets.
“Tom has done a lot of the welding on our Sprint cars with the new safety bars that are required,” Joe Michalski shared. “We have known one another for a long time.”
Michalski explained his decision to contact Montieth about going to the Gamblers Classic instead of his son driving the car as he has done in past Indoor Auto Racing seasons.
“Brett and I had decided not to run the Indoor Series this winter so we could concentrate on the 410 Sprint season. Brett wanted to dedicate all of his focus to that,” said Joe Michalski.
“I had talked to Brian during the season and he and Tom (Fraschetta) at the dirt indoor race in Trenton. It all just kind of worked out for Brian to drive for us in Atlantic City. The car was just going to be sitting in the shop.”
The Micro is a top piece, a three year old Hyper Hugger that has been racing sparingly. The car, which has been modified extensively by Lou Cicconi, is now being referred to as a “Cicconi Cougar”. The powerplant is a PR2 636 Kawasaki, uses ARS shocks and a braking system built by Dimension Design.
“Brett has been fast in our car indoors and we most always made the A-Main,” said Joe Michalski. “I know from being there with Brett that the outdoor ambient temperature has huge effects on the track and influences how the cars need to be set up. Some of that favors the 600s, Anthony Sesely has won the race three times with a similar chassis. If it does, Brian will have one of the best Micros in the field to take advantage of it.”
One place Michalski doesn't want to see Montieth in Atlantic City is in the 'Cool Down Zone'. The 'Zone' is an ingenious penalty box that has been sponsored by Michalski’s company and York Heating and Air Conditioning for the past two years.
“It's a pretty neat idea and the fans really get into it,” Michalski said. “Building the crowd reaction makes the races more interesting. As long as long as my No. 73B isn't in the Cool Down Zone, I'm all for it,” he said with a laugh.
Once the outdoor 410 Sprint season opens, Brett Michalski will be racing principally at Lincoln Speedway. The team has two Maxim chassis, and two engines, one built by Kriner, the other by Ott. They use Penske Shocks, DMI rears and components and Keizer wheels.
At the East Coast Indoor Dirt Nationals, Montieth and his Tom Fraschetta-owned car were fast, but unable to advance through the C-Main. Erick Rudolph, who is among the favorites on the Atlantic City concrete based on past performances, won the Dirt Nationals in a Fraschetta team car to Montieth's.
Montieth's entry in the Michalski TQ Midget at Boardwalk Hall for NAPA Racing Weekend is one of an anticipated 70 for the running of the prestigious 17th Annual NAPA AUTO PARTS Racing Weekend on January 25-26, 2019. Champ Karts and Slingshots will serve as the two support classes.
Information, including ticket and hotel links, is available at indoorautoracing.com. Tickets are also available daily and the day of the events at the Boardwalk Hall box office. Other information is available by calling the series office during regular working hours at 609-888-3618.

ALLENTOWN THREE QUARTER (TQ) MIDGET ENTRIES RISE DRAMATICALLY IN DAYS LEADING UP TO IRONTON TELEPHONE INDOOR RACING EVENTS PRESENTED BY BELFOR THIS FRIDAY AND SATURDAY, JANUARY 4-5
ALLENTOWN, PA January 2, 2019 . . . A rush of last minute TQ Midget entries over the Holiday Weekend has swelled the field for the PPL Center Allentown Indoor Race to four dozen – and counting – for this coming Friday and Saturday's Ironton Telephone Indoor Races Presented By BELFOR.
TQ Midgets are the headline attraction of a two-day racing spectacular inside the center city Allentown, PA facility on Friday and Saturday January 4-5, 2019 with two complete racing programs, back-to-back, including qualifying and feature events.
Doors open at 6:00PM with racing getting underway at 7:30 PM on Friday. On Saturday, doors open at 5:00PM with racing beginning at 7:00PM sharp.
The TQs will be joined Friday by Champ Karts, the lightweight, lightning fast, supremely agile vehicles that have always performed in crowd pleasing fashion in Allentown.
On Saturday, Slingshots will be the co-feature, the same Slingshots that race at the nearby Kutztown Fairgrounds and at other speedways during the outdoor season. A Fan Fest begins Saturday’s program for ticket holders who chose the free option to meet drivers and see the cars up close before the racing begins.
Recent TQ Midget filings include that of Fremont, OH Sprint Car ace John Ivy, who last weekend in a two-day Indoor 600 Micro Sprint race meet in Fort Wayne, IN, won an unprecedented four straight feature races. Ivy has raced in the past with the Indoor Auto Racing Series Presented By VP Race Fuels will be driving a potent Laffler Chassis owned by Timex Morgan.
Also filing a late TQ entry for the Ironton Telephone Indoor Races was Andy Jankowiak of North Tonawanda, NY, a perennial contender who is coming off a successful 2018 season on the Race Of Champions Asphalt Modified Tour. Jankowiak won the Indoor Series finale last year in Albany, N.Y.
Former Albany-Saratoga Speedway Dirt Modified track champion Marc Johnson of Guilderland, NY is also a late entrant driving the Ken Sebring No. 21.
The father-and-son racing team of Ronnie and Cole Mullen of Brick, NJ have filed entries. Ronnie is a veteran of the sport and his teenage son Cole was named ATQMRA Rookie Of The Year for the 2018 outdoor season. Young Mullen won his first TQ feature last July 7 at Wall (NJ) Stadium, outrunning, among others, his father.
One driver who bears watching above others is Bobby Butler, the Milford, NJ Dirt Track Stock Car driver who was among the contenders to win last December's East Coast Indoor Dirt Nationals 600 Micro feature in Trenton, NJ.
Butler came from the last row in that race after fighting his way through four preliminary races to even qualify, then earned a solid finish. He will drive the same 600 Micro Sprint he used in that race to run in the Ironton Telephone Indoor Races, the only car-driver combination to attempt such a feat.
Tim Nye from Troutman, NC was also in the Trenton Indoor Dirt Nationals field but failed to qualify for that race. He has entered the Allentown race but will drive a purpose-built concrete track 600 Micro this weekend.
Past Allentown TQ A Main winners in the field for this weekend include Erick Rudolph, Ransomville, NY, a three time Series champion and second in 2018 Super DIRT Series standings. Rudolph won the December Dirt Indoor race. Justin Bonsignore, Holtsville, NY, who parlayed victory in last year's Friday night Allentown feature to the 2018 Indoor Series championship, then went on to win the 2018 NASCAR Whelen Modified Touring Series title and eight of the 16 races; NASCAR Cup crewman Ryan Flores, Cornelius, NC, who won the 2017 Indoor Series title and Sprint Car driver Scott Kreutter, Buffalo, NY, who was the Saturday Allentown 2018 race winner.
Though past TQ Midget race winners have been from outside the Lehigh Valley, PA area, a strong contingent of Eastern PA drivers have filed entries for this year's race.
Among them are rising star Briggs Danner, Allentown, PA; reigning ATQMRA Midget outdoor champion Matt Janisch, Nazareth, PA; multi-time past ATQMRA outdoor champion Ryan Tidman, Holland, PA; perennial Indoor contender Tim Buckwalter, Douglassville, PA; and TQ veteran Matt Roselli, Brodheadsville, PA.
Other Eastern Pennsylvania drivers who have entered are Pat Bealer, Lehighton, PA; Steve Craig, Levittown, PA; Chad Jones, Quakertown, PA; Kyle Lick, Lehighton, PA; and TQ Rookie Joe Toth, Upper Makefield, PA, an experienced Slingshot driver who will be making his first TQ Midget start in this race.
Champ Kart entries are approaching 30 for the Friday night race, hailing from eight states. Todd Crenshaw, Winchester, VA, and Mike Perry, Dighton, MA, and Zach Asklar of Newtown, CT are among those from the most distant locales.
Craig Whitmoyer, Hamburg, PA, winner of the recent East Coast Indoor Dirt Nationals in Trenton, NJ on dirt, will be among those to beat in the Saturday Slingshot events. Jared Silfee, Saylorsborg, PA, Anthony Raisner and Kurt Bettler, both of Hellertown, PA, Cody Kline, Bangor, PA, Dylan Hoch, Mertztown, PA, and Adam and Steve Svanda, both of Allentown, are among the prominent greater Lehigh Valley area entrants.
The Allentown races are the first of a three race 2019 ‘concrete track’ series that make up the Indoor Auto Racing Series Fueled By VP Race Fuels season.
Following the Ironton Telephone Presented By BELFOR Allentown Indoor weekend, racing shifts to Atlantic City for the 17th running of NAPA Auto Parts Weekend, highlighted by the running of the prestigious TQ Midget Gamblers Classic. Event dates are Friday and Saturday, January 25-26, 2019.
The final event of the series takes place at a new venue, the New York State Fairgrounds Exhibition Center in Syracuse, NY. on Friday and Saturday, March 8-9, 2019.
Information for all Indoor Auto Racing Series events including a link for tickets, is available at www.indoorautoracing.com.
Tickets for Allentown Indoor race are available daily and on the day of the events the PPL Center box office. Tickets are also available by calling 610-347-TIXX.

GARY BALOUGH TO MEET FANS AT MOTORSPORTS 2019; HIS BOOK ‘HOT SHOE! A CHECKERED PAST: MY STORY’ WILL BE AVAILABLE; RESTORED ‘BATMOBILE’ TO BE ON DISPLAY
OAKS, PA December 28, 2018 . . . With more than 1,000 race wins to his credit, it is easy to understand how Gary Balough earned the nickname ‘Hot Shoe’. The veteran racer, still recovering from a stairway fall, will be spending the weekend with attendees at the 34th edition of the Pioneer Pole Buildings Motorsports Racecar & Trade Show Fueled by Sunoco Race Fuels Distributed by Insinger Performance.
The three day show will run from January 18 through January 20 and takes place at the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center in Oaks, Pa.
Balough will be offering his new book “Hot Shoe! A Checkered Past: My Story” for sale. The tell-all book, written with well-known author Bones Bourcier, has proven to be a big hit as it tells the story of Balough’s outstanding racing career and the dark times spent in prison.
One of the most well-known victories for the Florida-based racer came when he drove the famous “Batmobile” to victory in the 1980 edition of the Syracuse 300 run as part of the Super Dirt Week in Syracuse, N.Y. And just one year after that Balough made his best showing in NASCAR Winston Cup in 1981 at Talladega Superspeedway before his legal issues ended plans to join an elite team the following season.
The “Batmobile” was a feat of racing engineering, created by Balough and car builder Kenny Weld. The pair and their team built one of the most advanced dirt Modified race cars ever developed. It had so dominant a win that year on the mile at Syracuse that it was made illegal and rule books were rewritten to outlaw such ideas in the future.
The 66-year-old Balough is still active as an innovator, acting as a mentor and driving coach for Stewart Friesen and Halmar Racing. This past year he directed an effort to restore the “Batmobile” back to its original form and that black No. 112 will be on display at the show.
Balough will be at Motorsports all three days to talk with fans alongside the car. Show attendees will be able to purchase a copy of his book and have it autographed by Balough.
More than 200 racecars will be on display during the three day show with many top racers and motorsports personalities appearing at the show. As usual, all autographs will be free.
More than 200 other racing vehicles representing many different segments of the sport will also be on view throughout the more than 200,000 square feet of display space.
Headlining Motorsports 2019 will be NASCAR Hall of Famers Darrell Waltrip and Ray Evernham along with Ryan Preece who will be looking to capture NASCAR Monster Energy Cup Series Rookie of the Year honors.
There will be a large number of displays with speedways offering information on their 2019 seasons. Hardcore racing vendors will be a big part of the show and fans will have the opportunity to gain some bargains from vendors offering collectible items. A number of free industry seminars will be offered.

Nearly 40 TQ Midget drivers and teams have already entered the two day race weekend, including past event winners Erick Rudolph, Ransomville, NY; Justin Bonsignore, Holtsville, NY; Ryan Flores, Cornelius, NC; and Scott Kreutter, Buffalo, NY.
Rudolph, Bonsignore and Flores will be driving cars built by Mark Lafler, Ransomville, NY, while Kreutter will wheel the same Trey Hoddick-built car in which he scored a popular win last year.
Bonsignore and Kreutter were the 2018 Allentown race winners. Bonsignore parlayed his PPL Center win into a successful run at the lucrative The Indoor Auto Racing Series Fueled By VP Race Fuels championship. Bonsignore then went outdoors and won of eight of 16 NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour races and that championship as well.
Though past TQ Midget race winners have been from outside the Lehigh Valley, PA area, a strong contingent of Eastern PA drivers have filed entries for this year's race.
Among them are rising star Briggs Danner, Allentown, PA; reigning ATQMRA Midget outdoor champion Matt Janisch, Nazareth, PA; multi-time past ATQMRA outdoor champion Ryan Tidman, Holland, PA; perennial Indoor contender Tim Buckwalter, Douglassville, PA; and TQ veteran Matt Roselli, Brodheadsville, PA.
Other Eastern Pennsylvania drivers who have entered The Ironton Telephone Indoor Race Presented By BELFOR events are Pat Bealer, Lehighton, PA; Steve Craig, Levittown, PA; Chad Jones, Quakertown, PA; and Kyle Lick, Lehighton, PA.
Joe Toth, Upper Makefield, PA, who won several outdoor dirt Sportsman features this past season, will be making his first TQ Midget start in this race as a teammate to former winner Mike Iles.
Dirt Sportsman racer Craig Whitmoyer, Hamburg, PA, is one of the local pre-race favorites in the Slingshot event. Whitmoyer, the winner of the recent East Coast Indoor Dirt Nationals in Trenton, NJ on dirt in a Slingshot, hopes to add a win on the concrete floor in Allentown to his growing resume.
Jared Silfee, Saylorsborg, PA, Anthony Raisner and Kurt Bettler, both of Hellertown, PA, Cody Kline, Bangor, PA, Dylan Hoch, Mertztown, PA, and Adam and Steve Svanda, both of Allentown, are among other prominent greater Lehigh Valley area entrants in the Slingshot division. Brian DeCosta, Lehighton, PA, and Matt Andrews, Woodlyn, PA, are among the regional favorites in the Champ Kart event.
The Allentown races are the first of a three state 2019 ‘concrete track’ Indoor Auto Racing Series Fueled By VP Race Fuels season. Following the Ironton Telephone Presented By BELFOR Allentown Indoor weekend, racing shifts to N.J.’s Atlantic City for the 17th running of NAPA Auto Parts Weekend, highlighted by the running of the prestigious TQ Midget Gamblers Classic. Event dates are Friday and Saturday, January 25-26, 2019. The final event of the series takes place at a new venue, the New York State Fairgrounds Exhibition Center in Syracuse, NY. on Friday and Saturday, March 8-9, 2019.
The Allentown event is supported by Ironton Telephone Company, BELFOR Property Restoration, Doggy Style Hot Dogs & More, Future Homes, Ironton Auto Body, Leindecker Racing Engines, Action Track USA, Precision Concrete Coatings, Bob Hilbert Sportswear, Pocono Raceway, All American Property Maintenance, Pioneer Pole Buildings, S&S Speedways and Star Auto Mall.
