WAYNE PFEIL WINS CHAPMAN AUTO GROUP OF HORSHAM FIRECRACKER 40 BRC LATE MODEL RACE, KYLE WEISS AND BRIAN PAPIEZ ALSO VISIT VICTORY LANE AT GRANDVIEW SPEEDWAY
21 DIFFERENT FEATURE WINNERS SO FAR THIS SEASON
BECHTELSVILLE, PA. July 17,2016 . . . Wayne Pfeil, behind the wheel of his own/J & H Automotive & Custom Exhaust No. 72, scored the biggest win of his career when he took home the $2,000 first prize money in the Chapman Auto Group Firecracker 40 NASCAR BRC Late Model feature on Saturday night at Grandview Speedway. He dedicated his first win of the season to his dad, a former racer, who was at home with some health issues. “The car has been good all season, but we just had bad luck.” He gave a lot of credit to his crew because they stick by him and continue to try to make improvements to the car. He collected the Dan’s Deli ½-way hoagie bonus in addition to $100 from T. P. Trailers, Limerick.
The 30-Lap T.P. Trailers NASCAR 358 Modified All-American Racing Series 30-Lap was up for grabs right until the wave of the checkered and it was Kyle Weiss, the “Jalapa Jet” standing in victory lane for the first time of the season. He was happy how good the car was working since he and the crew spent several hours preparing the Blue Knob Auto No. 21K. In addition to the top prize, he also received $250 from T.P. Trailers.
Brian Papiez, a rookie this season in the NASCAR Sportsman division, held off the challenges of another rookie Andrew Kreis, who destroyed his car a few weeks ago, but had rebuilt the car and returned to the racing wars, to win his second 25-Lap feature. Papiez also received the $100 T.P. Trailers monetary award and the Dan’s Deli ½-way hoagie bonus.
Twenty one different drivers have visited victory lane this season in the three divisions of NASCAR stock car racing.
Coming up on Saturday, July 23rd is the always popular Hatfield Quality Meats Night featuring a visit by Smiley, their famous mascot; plus t-shirts and hot dogs being shot into the grandstands. And they will have product samples in the first turn grandstand area early in the evening. Featured will be the TP Trailers NASCAR 358 Modifieds, BRC Late Models and Sportsman. The weekly Meet and Greet featuring drivers and cars near the main gate entrance starts at 5 p.m. Spectator gates open at 5:30 p.m. with actual racing competition starts at 7:30 p.m. Adults are admitted for $15 while youngsters under 12 enter free.
Then on Sunday, July 24th, 1 p.m. the Outlaw Enduro racers will be in action along with Blast from the Past Vintage Car racing events. Adult admission is just $10.
Devin Frey took the early lead in the Late Model main event with Steve Todorow, who returned to action four weeks ago; Ron Kline, the 2009 and 2011 winner; Drew Weisser, a 2016 feature winner and Pfeil in tow.
It didn’t take Frey long to build up a commanding lead and encounter lap traffic by the eighth lap.
Dan Green regrouped the pack when he stopped in the fourth turn with tire issues. It was still Frey in command when action resumed, but by this time Pfeil advanced to second putting his bids in for the lead.
The lead changed hands on the 14th lap when Pfeil motored to the front of the pack.
Frey’s second place run ended abruptly when a puff of smoked poured from his car causing him to stop in turn two and the yellow out. Pfeil continued his dominance of the event on the restart.
Behind Pfeil, a four-way battle for second ensued between Todorow, Dave Ogin, Randy Stoudt and Sean Merkel. With Chuck Schutz trying to join in the mix.
Ogin moved into second on the 29th lap and within no time he erased the gap Pfeil built up to challenge for the lead.
Pfeil held the high line while Ogin was working the low groove trying to overtake him. Waiting in the wins for a miscue were last years’ winner S. Merkel, Schutz, who won the race two times and six-time race winner Randy Stoudt.
Pfeil really worked to stay in front and the determination paid off when he pulled into the winner’s circle 0.406 second ahead of Ogin who was followed by S. Merkel, Schutz and R. Stoudt. Sixth through tenth were Todorow, Cory Merkel, Weisser, Lou Egrie and Dean Stoudt.
Heats were won by Pfeil and Kline.
Polesitter Justin Grim motored into the early lead on the onset of the Modified feature followed by Chris Esposito, John Willman, Steve Swinehart and Brian Houseknecht.
By the Dan’s Deli ½-way hoagie mark, Justin Grim was still first, but a five-way heated battle for second continued between S. Swinehart, Willman, Kenny Gilmore, Weiss and Jordan Umbenhauer and neither was ready to give an inch.
Weiss made it a three-wide battle for the lead between Grim and Swinehart by the 23rd lap, one lap later he was second and with five laps to go Weiss dove underneath Grim coming off the fourth turn and was the new leader.
Weiss never relinquished first and went on to score his third career win at the 1/3-mile, banked clay oval. Second through fourth place finishers S. Swinehart, J. Grim and Umbenhauer scored their best runs of the season with Gilmore claiming fifth.
Mike Gular, S. Swinehart and Jeff Strunk won the heats. The consi went to Ryan Grim.
In the Sportsman feature polesitter Kreis led for two laps before Papiez got around him on the outside for the top spot. Kreis didn’t give in easily and stuck right with him trying to regain control. Behind these two rookies, Dylan Swinehart, another rookie, held down third with Brandon Whitmoyer and Jesse Landis, also a rookie completing the top five.
Papiez did manage to open daylight between himself and the others, but that was erased when Mark Kemmerer and Chad Kohler tangled between the first and second turn bringing out the caution on the 19th lap. The restart was void for a fourth turn multi-car tangle. Papiez and Kreis stayed one and two on the restart, but Swinehart got shuffled back to sixth as Ryan Lilick, Ken Eckert Jr. and Brad Arnold moved by.
Papiez was having handling problems coming off the fourth turn as the car was tight and numerous times it looked like Kreis would overtake him, but to no avail.
The lead never changed and Papiez scored his second win of the year. Second through fifth were Kreis, R. Lilick, Arnold and Eckert Jr.
Kreis, Papiez and Brian Hirthler won the heats. The consi was won by Steve Young.

COZZE, SCHUTZ AND KLINE EACH BECOME REPEAT WINNERS IN WHELEN NIGHT NASCAR STOCK CAR RACING AT GRANDVIEW SPEEDWAY
EIGHT YOUNGSTERS GO HOME WITH BIKES THANKS TO KORY FLEMING’S SLEEPY HOLLOW RACING
BECHTELSVILLE, PA. JULY 2, 2016 – Ray Swinehart and Frank Cozze, two of the elder statesmen in Modified action at Grandview Speedway battled for several laps with Swinehart on the high groove and Cozze down low. On the 26th lap coming off turn four, Cozze took Swinehart to the limit and was able to put the Tom Umbenhauer-owned/Harry’s U-Pull-It No. 4 into the top spot. At the same time Jeff Strunk, one of the younger veterans took over second to challenge. Cozze, a DIRT Hall of Famer, never let up and went on to score his second T.P. Trailers NASCAR 358 Modified All-American Racing Series 30-lap feature sponsored by Whelen Engineering. He also received $250 from T.P. Trailers.
Chuck Schutz scored his third 25-lap BRC NASCAR Late Model feature win by holding off runner-up Wayne Pfeil’s bids for first. Schutz picked up an additional $100 from T.P. Trailers.
Paul “The Dude” Kline took home the checkered in the 25-lap Sportsman feature to become the first repeat winner in the division and earned an extra $100 bonus from T.P. Trailers.
Eight lucky youngsters went home with new bicycles courtesy of Kory Fleming and Sleepy Hollow Racing. The bike giveaway has become a great tradition.
Next on the schedule will be the big event of the season for the BRC Late Models as they take part in the Firecracker 40 being sponsored by Chapman Ford Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram dealership in Horsham, PA. They are the No. 1 Volume Dealer in the Philadelphia Region. In addition to the Late Models racing for increased prize money the TP Trailers NASCAR 358 Modifieds will be in action along with the Sportsman stock cars. Topping off the night will be the annual FIREWORKS display.
All the activities on this night, Saturday, July 9th, get underway at 7:30 p.m. Adult admission is $25 with kids 6 thru 11 admitted for $5 while children under six admitted for free.
Blaine Bracelin Jr. was the early leader in the Modified feature until Swinehart overtook him on the third lap.
While Swinehart showed the way for the 28-car starting grid, behind him dicing for posi9tions were Bracelin Jr., Cozze, Danny Erb and Ryan Grim.
Erb, while running fourth, spun in turn four bringing out the caution on the ninth lap. Cars behind him scrambled and also caught up in the melee was Craig VonDohren as he pitted before the restart. VonDohren returned to action, but his 17th place finish was hit in the points as Strunk is now the current point leader by a narrow margin as he seeks his 11th NASCAR track title. When racing resumed Swinehart remained first, but now Cozze was on his bumper putting heavy pressure on him. Third through fifth waiting for their turn at the leader were Ryan Grim, Kevin Hirthler and Doug Manmiller. Waiting in the wings was Strunk for a shot at advancement.
With ten laps remaining Strunk joined the Swinehart and Cozze battle. Not only did Cozze have to deal with Swinehart for the lead, he had to be sure Strunk didn’t get past the two of them.
Lap after lap Swinehart and Cozze continued to run their same lines with Cozze moving Swinehart up higher each time off of four hoping to catch him off guard.
With four laps to go Cozze made his move stick and was now first with Strunk coming along for second to attempt to put another win in the books.
Cozze was determined to keep everyone behind him and that’s just what he did as he scored his third career victory at the 1/3-mile oval with Strunk second, for the third time this year. Swinehart hung on for third followed by Brett Kressley, already a feature winner this season and Kenny Gilmore, driving his own car.
Strunk, Kressley and Hirthler were the heat winners. The consi was won by Duane Howard.
In Late Model action Bryon Sipe overtook Shawn Horning on the second lap to see if he could muster up another win.
Sipe had command of the race until the tenth lap when Schutz charged to the front with Pfeil moving into second at the same time.
Pfeil made several bids for first, but in a few laps Schutz checked out and increased the distance each lap around.
Horning brought out the last yellow on the 12th lap when he spun in the fourth turn regrouping the field. Before action continued, Bill Henning, who was running a solid fourth, went pit side with a flat tire and was out of competition. Schutz was still the leader on the restart.
No one was able to get the lead away from Schutz and he went on to claim his 43rd career win. Finishing second was Pfeil trailed by Sipe, Devin Frey and Dan Green.
Drew Weisser and Sipe won the qualifying heats.
Rookie racer Kenny Bock led the Sportsman feature for six laps before Kline put his Precision Landscaping No. 1 into the lead.
Behind Kline jockeying for positions were Bock, Steve Searock, Brad Brightbill and Ryan Beltz.
A multi-car accident in the fourth turn brought out the final yellow on the 12th lap. Brightbill, who was right in the thick of the mix, was out of action for the night since he pitted before the restart and never rejoined the field.
The order behind Kline was constantly changing and at the Dan’s Deli ½-way hoagie mark second through fifth now consisted of Searock, Beltz, Ken Eckert Jr. and Brandon Whitmoyer.
Once Kline advanced to first he stayed there the rest of the laps to pull into the winner’s circle once again. Placing second for his best season finish was Searock followed by Beltz, Eckert and Jordan Henn, the current point leader.
Heats were won by Chris Jenkins, Kline and Searock. Brian Papiez won the consi.

VONDOHREN CAPTURES 3RD MODIFIED WIN OF THE SEASON USING A BACK-UP CAR AND INCREASES POINT LEAD; BRAD ARNOLD BECOMES NINTH SPORTSMAN FEATURE WINNER OF THE SEASON AND DAVE BROWN JR WINS CLOSE TSRS SPRINT FEATURE RACE
BECHTELSVILLE, PA. June 26, 2016 . . . Defending Grandview Speedway Modified point champion and current point leader Craig VonDohren damaged his primary car in his qualifying event forcing him to go to a back-up car in the consolation race. The multi-time track champion was able to win the consolation and then started 22nd in the T.P. Trailers NASCAR 358 Modified All-American Racing Series 30-Lap feature sponsored by Bechtelsville Car Wash on Saturday night at Grandview Speedway. By the 14th lap he was in a three-way battle for first with Kenny Gilmore and Kyle Weiss. VonDohren overtook second on the 22nd lap to pressure Gilmore as the pair approached lap traffic. The lead changed with two laps left with VonDohren now in front and he went on to capture his third win of the season and Grandview career win number 98. He also received $250 from T.P. Trailers, Limerick and $150 worth of products from V.P. Racing Fuels for running their gas and carrying the proper decals.
Brad Arnold put a crate engine in the WEEU 830 AM Radio sponsored mount and won his first 25-lap Sportsman feature of the season and his second career win – the last one being July 11, 2015. He was also awarded an extra $100 from T.P. Trailers.
The 25-Lap TSRS Sprint feature winner was Dave Brown by a narrow margin over runner-up Tim Tanner Jr.
Tuesday, June 28th, 7:30 p.m. will see the Pennsylvania Sprint Speed Week 410 Sprints in action along with the 358 Modifieds.
The TP Trailers NASCAR 358 Modifieds will head up the tripleheader show set for Saturday, July2nd at 7:30 p.m. Whelen Engineering will sponsor the night of racing that will also include the BRC Late Models and Sportsman. Gates open at 5:30 p.m. And again on Saturday there will be a Low Down and Dirty Radio Meet & Greet featuring racers and their race cars. It all takes place near the main gate at 5 p.m. and gives fans a chance to meet drivers, collect autographs and take photos.
Brian Houseknecht put the Bechtelsville Car Wash No. 323 ahead of the 28-car starting grid and set the pace for six laps before Ryan Grim charged past both Gilmore and Houseknecht to become the new pacesetter.
Grim immediately checked out, but his lead only lasted three laps as he came to a stop in the first turn bringing out the yellow and relinquishing the top spot to Gilmore,.
Weiss, Houseknecht, Tim Buckwalter, Jared Umbenhauer and VonDohren diced for positions behind Gilmore.
Gilmore ran the high groove in the Breitenstein No. 14 while Weiss made several runs trying to dive underneath him to try to take away first, but each attempt was futile.
VonDohren soon made it a three-way tryst for first with neither one giving in. Anticipating a false move by either one in hopes to advance were Mike Gular and Umbenhauer.
The front runners had to use heads up driving tactics when they approached the slower moving cars racing for positions also.
After battling with Weiss for eight laps, Von Dohren was finally able to get around him and set his sights on Gilmore.
VonDohren missed the five lap to go sign since he said it was “dusty” since the week-long head didn’t help matters and also the two to go, but it was on lap 28 that he passed Gilmore.
Once VonDohren took control he held the spot and was “thankful to be in victory lane because of the way the night started.” Having his season best finish in second was Gilmore followed by Gular, Jeff Strunk, last week’s feature winner and Weiss.
Heats were won by Gilmore, Tim Buckwalter and Gular. The 3-lap Bechtelsville Car Wash Cash Dash worth $300 was won by Gilmore.
After three tries to complete a lap in the Sportsman feature, rookie Jesse Landis led the way and held onto first for seven laps when Arnold emerged as the new pacesetter.
Within no time Arnold out-distanced himself from the rest of the competition leaving Landis, Ken Eckert Jr., Kyle Lilick and Joe Funk III dice for the remaining top five spots.
Arnold’s comfortable lead was erased on the 22nd lap when Craig Whitmoyer, who was working his way to the front after being involved in the opening lap mishap, slowed along the backstretch with Mark Kemmerer also involved. It was still Arnold first on the restart.
Arnold never relinquished the lead and went on to the winner’s circle being chased by Landis, Eckert Jr., Lilick and Funk III.
Dean Bachman, Rich Jones and Kyle Lilick won the heats. The consi was won by Ryan Lilick.
In the third heat, rookie Andrew Kreis did a barrel roll several times along the backstretch. He got out of the car and into the ambulance under his own power, but was taken to Reading Hospital as a precautionary measure to be checked out.
Kody Kinser was the early leader in the TSRS feature until Jon Haegele assumed the lead on the fourth circuit.
The red had to be thrown for a multi-car homestretch incident in which all drivers were uninjured. Haegele held the lead on the restart with Kinser trying to regain the top spot.
Scott Frack brought out the yellow on the 14th lap when he slowed his pace. On this restart Brown in third, charged into the lead with Tim Tanner Jr. following for second.
Brown held onto first the remaining laps to take home the win with Tanner Jr., Mike Haggenbottom, Jeff Geiges and Austin Burke behind.
Brown, Haggenbottom and Jason Rochelle won the heats.

PAUL KLINE WINS 40-LAP SUMMER SPLASH SPORTSMAN FEATURE, SCHUTZ GETS HIS SECOND BRC LATE MODEL WIN OF THE SEASON AND JEFF STRUNK BECOMES A FIRST TIME WINNER THIS SEASON AT GRANDVIEW IN TP TRAILERS NASCAR 358 MODIFIED FEATURE ALL PART OF BASHORE TRUCKING/BFP SPECIALTIES NIGHT
BECHTELSVILLE, PA. June 19, 2016 . . . When Paul “The Dude” Kline finally wins a NASCAR Sportsman feature at Grandview Speedway, he picks a big payday since it was the Summer Splash 40-lap feature sponsored by Bashore Trucking/BFP Specialty that was worth #$1,500 plus $100 from T.P. Trailers, Limerick.
Kline, the eighth different winner in the division, started his season late and it wasn’t easy since he experienced carburetor problems and other issues and since the crew just consists of himself and his wife Jenifer, that makes it even more challenging. He inherited the lead when race leader Kenny Bock spun between turns and four which brought out the red for a blocked track since several other cars tangled behind him on lap four.
Since numerous restarts were needed in the early stages, after six laps all restarts went single-file. Kline held off numerous challenges with current point leader Jordan Henn all over him with five laps remaining. Kline hung on to capture the victory.
Jeff Strunk, a ten-time Modified point champion, who reunited with former owner Glenn Hyneman and the No. 126 team, finished second two weeks in a row and he decided it was time to change the status. After a seven lap battle with Mike Kellner he finally got even enough and was able to move underneath Kellner off four with five laps to go and made the move stick as he was now first. Strunk continued the momentum and went on to score his first win of the season in the T.P. Trailers NASCAR 358 Modified All-American Racing Series 30-Lap
Defending Late Model point champion Chuck Schutz has had his share of ups and downs since the season began and he finally got a break and pulled the Ty Zeigler-owned/PPB No. ONE into victory lane for the second time in the 25-lap BRC NASCAR Late Model feature.
The TSRS 305 Sprint cars will headline the racing action on Saturday, June 25th, when Bechtelsville Car Wash presents a tripleheader show of racing action that will also include the TP Trailers NASCAR 358 Modifieds and Sportsman stock cars. Admission for this special event is just $18 for adults. Spectator gates open at 5:30 p.m. with racing getting underway at 7:30 p.m.
Sportsman action saw rookie Bock take the early lead for four laps before he spun and the red was thrown. After things cleared Kline was first trailed by Derrick Smith, another rookie; Brad Arnold, Craig Whitmoyer and Henn.
Whitmoyer overtook second on the 11th lap and set his sights on Kline who encountered lap traffic. He reeled Kline in by the 17th lap and made several attempts to dive underneath him, but to no avail.
It wasn’t long before a four-car dual emerged for first between Kline, Whitmoyer, Arnold and Henn.
Henn moved into second on the 34th lap and he was all over Kline putting his bids in for first.
Kline kept everyone behind him to pull the Precision Landscaping/Searock Fabrication No. 1 into victory lane. Finishing a close second was Henn followed by Whitmoyer, Arnold and Brian Hirthler, who had their best finishes for a change of luck. Last year’s winner Mike Lisowski was sixth. Rookies Smith, Dylan Swinehart and last week’s winner Brian Papiez were seventh through ninth with Ryan Lilick tenth.
Kline, Bock and Dean Bachman won the heats. The consi went to Kyle Lilick.
Mike Kellner put the Power Washers No. 57 into the lead at the onset of the Modified with pressure from Eric Biehn, Steve Swinehart, John Willman and Ray Swinehart.
It didn’t take long for the Lansdale leadfoot to increase the distance between himself and now Steve and Ray Swinehart, Biehn and Willman.
The first caution was when Ryan Grim spun along the homestretch on the 17th lap when last week’s feature winner Brett Kressley was clipped, did a 360 and continued, but later pulled in before action resumed. The restart was void since Frank Cozze failed to get away. Kellner continued his pace when action resumed, but by this time Strunk was second giving him a run for the top spot. Kellner held his outside line while Strunk tried feverishly to get underneath and advance.
Kellner held off Strunk’s moves until coming off four on lap 25. The bid held and Strunk was now ahead.
Strunk never surrendered first and pulled into the winner’s circle for the first time this year with Kellner a disappointing second trailed by R. Swinehart, Craig Von Dohren, Kyle Weiss, Duane Howard, S. Swinehart, Tim Buckwalter, Danny Erb and Jared Umbenhauer.
Heat winners were Strunk, Howard and R. Swinehart. Kressley won the consi.
Once again Joe “Geezer” Fanelli led the way in the Late Model feature until Schutz passed him on the fourth lap.
While Schutz showed the way and built up a healthy margin, Bill Henning, Lou Egrie, Brian Shuey and Bryon Sipe diced for positions.
By the Dan’s Deli half-way hoagie marker the order behind Schutz was now comprised of Bill Henning, Egrie, Wayne Pfeil and Cory Merkel.
Despite more caution periods needed once Schutz took control, he never looked back and went on to score another win. Chasing him across the line for his season best run was Henning followed by Pfeil, Egrie and Merkel. Rounding out the top ten were Randy Stoudt, Dave Ogin, Shuey, Dan Green and Drew Weisser.
Sipe and Fanelli were the heat winners.

KRESSLEY, PAPIEZ AND WEISSER FIRST TIME WINNERS AT GRANDVIEW SPEEDWAY ON SATURDAY
PECK AND SMITH WIN VINTAGE RACER FEATURES
BECHTELSVILLE, PA June 12, 1016 . . . Three new names were added to the winner’s list on Saturday night at Grandview Speedway and all three feature winners captured their first career NASCAR divisonal triumphs at the 1/3-mile clay oval in the racing action sponsored by T.P. Trailers, Limerick and broadcast by RCN-TV, Allentown.
Brett “The Threat” Kressley, a rookie this season after graduating from being the Sportsman point champion, who was shut out of victory lane a few weeks ago, put the Norm Hansell-owned Norm’s Save Station No. 357 into the lead on the ninth lap and went on to score the win in the T.P. Trailers NASCAR 358 Modified All-American Racing Series 30-Lap feature with Jeff Strunk chasing him across the line. Kressley commented that his first win in the division at Grandview was special adding a notch in his belt and gave a “hats off” to Norm and crew for an awesome car. He said he made some rookie mistakes early in the season and is getting adjusted to things.
In the 25-lap BRC NASCAR Late Model feature Drew Weisser, who has been close on occasions to winning only to be defeated in the later stages, scored his first career win.
There have now been five different winners in seven Modified races this season. In Late Models four drivers have visited victory lane and in the Sportsman seven different winners. Seven nights of racing have been completed for the NASCAR sanctioned divisions.
Brian Papiez, a graduate from the crate division at New Eqypt Speedway, who didn’t run the early part of the year, led from start to finish in the 25-lap NASCAR Sportsman event. He dedicated the win to his grandmother who recently passed away and especially thanked Ray Carroll and driver Jeff Strunk for helping him set up the car.
All three drivers received monetary awards from T.P. Trailers. $250, Modified and $100 for both the Late Model and Sportsman and the Dan’s Deli ½-way Hoagie award.
Racing will return to the Bechtelsville, PA racing facility on Saturday, June 18th at 7:30 p.m. when the NASCAR Sportsman stock cars will be featured in a 40-lap feature race. In addition there will be racing for the T.P.Trailers NASCAR 358 Modifieds along with the BRC Late Models. The night will be sponsored by BFP Specialties and Bashore Trucking.
Ron Haring Jr. set the pace for eight laps of the Modified feature before Kressley, who started fifth, and chasing him since the green motored into the lead.
Behind Kressley dicing for positions were Mike Kellner, Haring Jr., Ray Swinehart and John Willman.
The half of straightaway lead Kressley built up was erased when Kellner, running a solid second, had a left rear tire go flat causing him to spin in turn four and the caution to come out on lap 17. Kressley held his ground when action resumed, but now the competition was from Willman, Kenny Gilmore, Swinehart and Kevin Hirthler.
On the 20th lap Tim Buckwalter and Craig Von Dohren made contact with Buckwalter spinning. Frank Cozze had nowhere to go and was involved in the mishap. It was still Kressley first.
The caution was out again on lap 21 after Don Norris Jr. and Von Dohren collided with Norris Jr. spinning in turn two. Defending champion Von Dohren was put to the rear for a rule infraction. The leader continued to be Kressley being chased by Willman, Strunk, Gilmore and Danny Erb with Mike Gular soon in the mix.
Strunk advanced to second with five to go to see if he had anything for Kressley.
This time Kressley was determined to grab the win and did just that followed by Strunk, for the second week in a row, Willman, for his season best finish; Gular and Gilmore. Rounding out the top ten were Erb, Buckwalter, Kyle Borror, last week’s feature winner; Hirthler and Ryan Grim.
Willman, Chris Gambler and Haring Jr. won the heats.
For the second consecutive week, Joe “Geezer” Fanelli was the early race leader in the Late Model feature, a position he held for five laps before Lou Egrie became the new pacesetter.
Weisser overtook Fanelli for second on the seventh lap and five laps later he was in control of the race.
The action for the spots behind Weisser developed between Egrie, Dave Ogin, Brian Shuey, last week’s feature winner and Cory Merkel and it didn’t take Chuck Schutz long to get into the shuffle.
Positions changed behind Weisser, but he never surrendered the top spot and claimed a well-deserved victory trailed by Egrie, Shuey, Merkel and Schutz. Ogin, Dan Green, Bryon Sipe, Wayne Pfeil and Dean Stoudt were sixth through tenth.
Heats were won by Sipe and Shuey.
Papiez was off and running at the onset of the Sportsman feature being challenged by Kyle Lilick, Ryan Beltz, Mark Kemmerer and Jack Butler. Joe Funk III moved into second on the third lap to put his bids in for first.
The field regrouped on lap 11 after Craig Whitmoyer slowed his pace in turn two when he glanced off the homestretch wall. Papiez remained in front but now Beltz, who recently captured his first win and was in the hunt for another, was in the runner-up spot.
Papiez never looked back once he was ahead and went on to score the win chassed across by Beltz. Funk III, Kemmerer and Brad Brightbill were third through fifth for their season best finishes. Sixth through tenth were Brian Hirthler, Paul Kline, Jordan Henn, Brett Gilmore and Kyle Lilick.
Dean Bachman, Ryan Lilick, Papiez and Hirthler won the heats. Consies went to Derrick Smith and Craig Whitmoyer.
Dave Smith and former Grandview standout Ronnie Peck were the winners in the two 15-lap Blast from the Past features.

BORROR, SHUEY AND RYAN LILICK WIN NASCAR STOCK CAR FEATURES AT GRANDVIEW SPEEDWAY ON SATURDAY NIGHT
BECHTELSVILLE, PA June 5, 2016 . . . Kyle Borror came close to winning a Modified feature at Grandview Speedway last year, but couldn’t accomplish the feat. Saturday night the 2015 Hard Luck recipient started seventh in the 28-car starting grid, took over the lead on the sixth lap restart and later held off the challenges of 10-time point champion Jeff Strunk and defending champion Craig Von Dohren to capture his first ever career victory in the T.P. Trailers NASCAR 358 Modified All-American Racing Series 30-Lap feature. “I was wore out at the finish said an elated Borror and on the second last caution restart I thought I would be a sitting duck seeing Strunk and VonDohren right behind me, but I wasn’t about to give up and I kept riding the cushion.” The decision paid off for the Peach Bottom, Pa. resident as he came out on top.
Brian Shuey collected his third BRC NASCAR 25-lap Late Model feature winner by holding off the challenges of defending point champion Chuck Schutz. “I knew Schutz was behind me and I tried to mix-up the lanes and just kept trying to hit my marks.” Shuey thanked Scott and Sue Lee and the crew for all their efforts and countless hours plus he sent out special get well wishes to his dad and mom.
The 25-lap NASCAR Sportsman feature was filled with numerous accidents, but when everything was all set and done Ryan Lilick was the sixth different winner and he claimed his first win of the year.
All three winners received monetary awards from T.P. Trailers. $250, Modifieds; and $100 to both the Late Model and Sportsman division. They also were awarded the Dan’s Deli ½-way hoagie award.
NASCAR stock car racing action returns to Grandview Speedway on Saturday, June 11th, 7:30 p.m. when T.P. Trailers of Limerick, PA sponsors the tripleheader card of racing featuring the 358 Modifieds, BRC Late Models and Sportsman stock cars. Spectator gates open at 5:30 p.m.
Modified action saw polesitter Justin Grim set the pace for five laps before the caution was needed when Brett Kressley spun in the fourth turn causing a multi-car accident. Everyone continued but Kressley had to be towed in. Chris Esposito, who was second at the time, pitted relinquishing the spot, but rejoined the pack in time.
When action resumed Borror put the Wide Open engine powered No. B4 into the top spot trailed by Ron Haring Jr., J. Grim, Danny Erb and Ryan Grim.
Borror’s ¼-way track advantage was erased when Mike Kellner stopped in turn four. The restart was void when Haring Jr., second-place runner, spun in the fourth turn. Borror maintained the lead on the restart, but by this time Strunk, Von Dohren, Erb and R. Grim were bumper-to-bumper waiting for an error.
Strunk made several challenges, but each one was null and Borror remained the leader.
The caution Borror didn’t want to see was on the 22nd lap when Grim hit the wall between turns one and two. Kevin Hirthler was placed to rear for a rule infraction. Borror wasted no time pulling away since he knew who was behind him. Strunk was still second, but now Erb and Mike Gular were third and fourth as VonDohren fell to fifth.
It was a hard-fought battle and at the wave of the checkered Borror claimed a well-deserved victory. Strunk was second with VonDohren battling back for a close third followed by Erb for his season best finish and Gular, who came from deep in the pack from 23rd. Tyler Dippel, made a rare appearance was sixth with Jared Umbenhauer, Frank Cozze, Tim Buckwalter and Doug Manmiller rounding out the top ten.
Strunk, Ron Seltmann Jr. and Kory Fleming won the heats. The consi was won by Don Norris Jr.
In Late Model action Joe “Geezer” Fanelli set the early pace with Shuey, Drew Weisser, Schutz and Wayne Pfeil on his bumper.
Shuey tried several times to dive underneath Fanelli, but Fanelli kept him behind.
On the 12th lap Fanelli went too high off turn four and Shuey became the new leader. Schutz also succeeded in passing him to challenge Shuey.
While running third, Fanelli had a tough break and spun in the fourth turn. Left with no place to go, Dave Ogin and Randy Stoudt were also involved. After three tries, the next lap was finally completed with Shuey setting the pace.
Schutz almost became the new leader many times, but Shuey held off his challenges.
Shuey was able to withstand Schutz’s efforts to go on to collect his 18th career win at the track. Finishing a close second was Schutz followed by Pfeil, who returned after being off last week since he destroyed his car racing elsewhere; Bryon Sipe, last week’s feature winner and Ogin. Sixth through tenth were Dan Green, Fanelli, Cory Merkel, Dean Stoudt and Randy Stoudt.
Weisser and Sipe won the heats.
Before the first lap of the Sportsman feature could be recorded, last week’s feature winner Ryan Beltz slowed in the second turn. On the restart Josh Adams took control.
Runner-up Ken Bock brought out the next caution after a first turn spin on lap three. The restart was void after Dylan Swinehart was spun in turn four. Because several caution were needed before the next lap could be completed all restarts went single file. Adams led the way on the fourth lap restart, but one lap later R. Lilick was at the head of the pack.
Brian Hirthler advanced to second on the sixth circuit to pressure Lilick, but five laps later Butler was challenging Lilick.
The halfway straightaway lead Lilick built up was erased for a multi-car fourth turn incident. This put everyone nose-to-tail on the restart and Lilick moved away quickly leaving Butler, Hirthler, Bachman and Jordan Henn right behind.
Lilick kept the competition behind him to claim his fourth career win. Second went to rookie Butler with Hirthler, Dean Bachman and Henn third through fifth. Jim Housworth, Craig Whitmoyer, Ryan Higgs, Brett Gilmore and Mike Lisowski rounded out the top ten.
Hirthler, R. Lilick, Craig Whitmoyer and Beltz were the heat winners. The consies were won by Steve Searock and Mark Kemmerer.

AFTER THREE STRAIGHT RAINOUTS NASCAR STOCK CAR RACING RETURNED TO GRANDVIEW ON SATURDAY NIGHT WITH WINS GOING TO VONDOHREN, SIPE AND BELTZ IN FRONT OF STRONG CROWD
BECHTELSVILLE, PA May 29, 2016 . . . Paint swapping, racing action finally returned to the 1/3-mile high banks of Grandview Speedway on Saturday night following a three-week vacation courtesy of Mother Nature.
T.P.Trailers NASCAR 358 Modified action saw rookie Modified racer and 2015 Sportsman point champion Brett Kressley squeezed out of the lead by defending point champion Craig VonDohren on the white flag lap in the 30-Lap feature. VonDohren went on to score his second win of the season in which he also received $250 from T.P. Trailers and a $150 bonus in products from VP Racing Fuel for running their gasoline. VonDohren gave credit to Kressley on the battle the two ensued and also to Brad Missimer and the entire track crew for the preparation prior to the event.
Bryon Sipe became the fourth different BRC NASCAR 25-lap Late Model feature winner as he led from start to finish to stand in victory lane for the first time since his last win June 23, 2007. Sipe left for a few years and figured he’d return to the only track where he won a feature. He also garnered $100 from T.P. Trailers and also the Dan’s Deli ½-way hoagie award.
A new name entered the winner’s circle in the NASCAR Sportsman feature when Ryan Beltz, who has been competing for several years but never quite able to win, finally got the monkey off his back to win his first 25-lap NASCAR feature. An elated Beltz commented that the crew only consists of himself and his father and thanked his wife Stephanie for putting up with his racing career.
Twelve different drivers have now made it to victory lane in feature races in all three divisions after five weeks of racing.
NASCAR stock car racing action returns to Grandview Speedway on Saturday, June 4 with another great tripleheader card featuring the T.P.Trailers NASCAR 358 Modifieds, BRC Late Models and Sportsman with racing starting at 7:30 p.m. Spectator gates open at 5:30 p.m.
Ron Seltmann Jr., who won his first Modified feature last season, set the pace for four laps before Steve Swinehart, returning to action this year behind the wheel of the Ron Krex No. 9K, took over the lead.
The yellow was displayed on the seventh lap when Chris Esposito stopped in the second turn. S. Swinehart held his own on the restart, but now he had to contend with his day Ray in second trailed by Jared Umbenhauer, Mike Kellner and Doug Manmiller.
Charging towards the front on the outside was Kressley and by the 13th lap he held down the runner-up position. Behind them, R. Swinehart, VonDohren and Manmiller diced for third through fifth.
Kellner brought out the final caution on the 16th lap when he spun in the fourth turn. This time Kressley shot into first with R. Swinehart, S. Swinehart, VonDohren and Mike Gular in pursuit. It didn’t take Kressley long to outdistance himself from the rest. VonDohren regained second on lap 22 and set sail after Kressley who began to encounter lap traffic.
VonDohren closed the gap and made several advances, but to no avail since Kressley held his challenges off. Von Dohren ran Kressley up high numerous times trying to dive under, but couldn’t capitalize on it.
Coming out of turn four for the one to go signal VonDohren took Kressley up a little higher and was able to squeeze him back to second.
The lead never changed and VonDohren chalked up his second with Kressley a well-deserved disappointing second trailed by R. Swinehart, Gular and St. Swinehart, who posted his best finish. Sixth through tenth were Kenny Gilmore, Umbenhauer, Jeff Strunk, Duane Howard and Manmiller.
Seltmann Jr., R. Swinehart and Eric Biehn were the heat winners. The consi was won by Esposito.
Before the first lap of the Late Model feature could be completed the red was thrown when Lou Egrie Jr. hit the first turn wall with heavy impact coming to a rest in the infield between one and two. He got out of the car under his own power, but was shaken up a bit.
When action resumed Sipe was the leader trailed by Devin Frey, Chuck Schutz, driving Buddy Mertz’s No. 00; Drew Weisser and Randy Stoudt.
Weisser found himself in the second turn wall after contact with Stoudt and the yellow was out on lap four. Stoudt was put to the rear for the infraction.
Sipe was still the leader on the restart with Frey, Schutz, Ron Kline and Dave Ogin in tow.
The final caution was on the 14th lap after Ogin and Cory Merkel got together on the backstretch with Merkel spinning. Also involved having nowhere to go were Brian Shuey and Lou Egrie Sr. Only Egrie Sr. could continue. Sipe motored away quickly on the restart.
No one was able to pass Sipe and he went on to claim a well-deserved win trailed by Frey, Schutz, Kline and Ogin. Rounding out the top ten were Bill Henning, Dan Green, Joe Fanelli, Shawn Horning and Egrie Sr.
C. Merkel and Shuey won the qualifying heats.
In Sportsman competition John McGovern took the early lead at the onset of the Sportsman feature.
Battling for positions behind him were rookie Dylan Swinehart, Beltz, Nathan Mohr and Brandon Whitmoyer.
Beltz moved into second on the sixth lap restart needed when Kenny Bock spun in the fourth turn and began to pressure McGovern.
The lead was swapped on the 14th lap just after McGovern picked up the Dan’s Deli ½-way hoagie award as now Beltz was at the front of the pack.
With five laps to go Swinehart overtook second and took chase after Beltz.
The long wait was finally over for Beltz as he pulled into victory lane for a long overdue triumph. Finishing an impressive second was Swinehart, who showed sportsmanship and went over to congratulate Beltz, followed by McGovern, for his best finish; B. Whitmoyer and Mohr, who also turned in his best run ever. Completing the top ten were Jim Housworth, Craig Whitmoyer, who came from deep in the pack after taking a provisional and starting 27th; Mike Lisowski, Brian Hirthler and Ryan Lilick.
