Lance Dewease earns record fifth Tuscarora 50 win at Port Royal Speedway in dominating fashion
PORT ROYAL, PA. (September 10, 2016) - For an unprecedented fifth time, Lance Dewease is a Tuscarora 50 champion at the Port Royal Speedway in Port Royal, Pennsylvania. The Central Pennsylvania veteran, who now owns 100 career victories at the Port Royal “Speed Palace,” as well as 31 career victories against the Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions, earned more than $12,000 for his record setting main event win, crossing under the final checkers nearly eight seconds ahead of Stevie Smith and Dale Blaney. Dewease took command officially on lap 12 and never looked back, utilizing the bottom groove of the Port Royal Speedway half-mile for the majority of his laps led.
“This feels great. It’s an honor to do it for these guys,” Dewease said on the Port Royal Speedway victory lane stage. “I think I may have won this race with five different car owners, too, so that makes it pretty special. I wanted this one so bad all year for these guys. We’ve been really good everywhere we’ve went. We had a really good race car last night, but had some mechanical problems that were nobody’s fault. I’m having a lot of fun driving for this race team. We are all really enjoying this limited schedule. We savor every one of these things.”
With a redraw setting the first five starting rows of the 50-lap, Tuscarora 50 feature finale, it was Greg Hodnett and T.J. Stutts setting the tone on the initial start. Hodnett jumped to the early advantage, leading Dale Blaney, T.J. Stutts, and Sheldon Haudenschild at the completion of lap one. Hodnett quickly opened up at the front of the field, extending his lead to a near-two second advantage by lap 10.
In the meantime, Lance Dewease, pilot of the Don Kreitz-owned/Sharman Builders/No. 69K, started to pick his way through the field. The Fayetteville, Pennsylvania, native drove forward from eighth on the grid, securing the third position by lap 10, second position by lap 11, and the top spot by lap 12, but not without help from Greg Hodnett. Hodnett, who was still controlling the point position during Dewease’s charge, slowed to a stop on lap 12, the result of mechanical woes. Dewease took advantage of Hodnett’s misfortune and quickly extended himself from his fellow front runners, chased to the lap 25 break by Stevie Smith, Dale Blaney, and Sheldon Haudenschild.
“That first 25 laps, I didn’t run that hard,” Dewease explained. “I knew we could go pretty soft on tires because I’m not that hard on tires. We came in during that red and my guys said my tires were still really good. So, I knew I could get going then. I just wanted to get inside the top-four before the break. I just found a line and was able to reel those guys in. You have to be there in the end in this deal. That’s what it’s all about. ”
The second segment of the Tuscarora 50 main event ignited with Lance Dewease returning to his place at the front of the field, followed by Stevie Smith and Dale Blaney. It would not take long for Dewease to once again open up his advantage, stretching to nearly four seconds by lap 30.
While Dewease dominated, a battle for second, third, and fourth would ensue involving Stevie Smith, Dale Blaney, and Cap Henry. Smith soon established himself in the runner-up position, followed by a lap-by-lap battle between Dale Blaney and Cap Henry. Despite all of their attempts to catch the familiar No.69K of Lance Dewease, nothing proved to be beneficial. Dewease ultimately scored the five-digit payday, followed by Stevie Smith and Dale Blaney to complete the podium.
“There are probably only a few of us here that have experience racing on the same set of tires for all 50 laps,” Lance Dewease said. “There is a little bit of a nact to it and a little bit of a patience to it. I’m happy to get it done for these guys.”
The Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions will close out the month of September with a visit to the World’s Greatest Dirt Track. The Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio, will showcase Arctic Cat All Star competition on Saturday evening, September 24, during night two of the 35th Annual Four Crown Nationals. “America’s Series” will join all three national divisions of the United States Auto Club (USAC), Midget, Sprint, and Champ, during their visit to Eldora Speedway, the first time Eldora Speedway has hosted four divisions during the Saturday night portion of the Four Crown Nationals since 2007.

Stevie Smith takes $5,000 from Port Royal Speedway during Night Before The Tuscarora 50,
Tuscarora weekend continues Saturday with Tuscarora 50 finale
PORT ROYAL, PA. (September 9, 2016) - For the first time in 2016 and for the fourth time in his career, the “Black Bandit” Stevie Smith is a main event winner against the Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions at Port Royal Speedway, this time scoring the Night Before The Tuscarora 50 victory to officially kick-off Tuscarora weekend at the “Speed Palace.” Smith, who started third on the feature grid, took command for the first time on lap 12, eventually holding back Greg Hodnett and Lucas Wolfe by nearly 2.5 seconds to score the $5,000 top prize. It was Smith’s 17th career victory with the Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions, equaling his father’s total on the all-time Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions win list.
“I am really happy to be out here tonight,” Stevie Smith said in victory lane. “I’ve always really enjoyed racing at Port Royal and I like winning at Port Royal. Although, I have to be truthful, I like winning at any track. It seems like it gets harder and harder to win every year. This track is putting on a great show for us here this weekend. I can’t thank everyone enough. They are the real reason why we are out here.”
Pole sitter Greg Hodnett took command during the initial Night Before The Tuscarora 50 main event start, leading Brock Zearfoss and Stevie Smith by the flag stand for the first time. Despite Hodnett’s ability to quickly extend his advantage at the front of the field, reaching a near-two second lead by lap 5, it was Lance Dewease who was creating the most noise.
Within two circuits, sixth starting Lance Dewease was already putting pressure on Stevie Smith, Brock Zearfoss, and Greg Hodnett, ultimately stealing third from Smith at the completion of lap two, and second from Zearfoss on lap three. The Fayetteville, Pennsylvania, native locked himself down on the bottom of the speedway, erasing Hodnett’s near-two second lead by lap eight, eventually driving under the familiar No. 27 on lap nine during a battle in traffic.
Unfortunately for the pilot of the Don Kreitz-owned/No. 69K, the dominance would soon come to an end, unexpectedly pulling to a stop on the backstretch on lap 11. This would allow Greg Hodnett to inherit the lead once again, followed by Stevie Smith and now Dale Blaney.
Greg Hodnett’s campaign at the front of the field would only last a single circuit, eventually overtaken by Stevie Smith with a textbook slide job between turns three and four on lap 12. That move would prove to be the winning move with Stevie Smith surviving the remaining 18 circuits of the 30 lap main event to earn his place on the coveted Port Royal Speedway victory lane stage, crossing under the final checkers nearly 2.5 seconds ahead of Greg Hodnett and Lucas Wolfe, who worked his way back to a podium finish by lap 13.
“We were just so tight at the beginning. It took us half of the race to really get going,” Stevie Smith explained. “Lance (Dewease) was really good tonight. I’m not sure how we would have ended up if he wouldn’t have broke. I just had to go where the car told me to go and where I thought the car was right. It hasn’t been right a lot this year, but it paid off tonight.”
The 49th running of the Tuscarora 50 will cap off a full weekend of competition for the Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions at Port Royal Speedway, awarding a minimum of $12,000 after 50 laps of green flag competition on Saturday night, September 10. The Tuscarora 50 finale, a show-up points event for the Arctic Cat All Stars during their third and final Port Royal Speedway appearance of 2016, will also award lap money on top of the five-digit payday, which will be accumulated during the entire main event.

ATTICA, Ohio (September 3, 2016) - After nearly giving it all away, spinning in front of the entire feature field after leading the first eight circuits at Attica Raceway Park, Wooster, Ohio’s Sheldon Haudenschild would recover; rigorously working back to the top spot around a pair of Ohio veterans, ultimately scoring the 40-lap, Inaugural Dirt Classic Ohio victory worth $10,000. The win was Haudenschild’s seventh of the 2016 season with the Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions, tying for the series lead with defending Arctic Cat All Star champion Dale Blaney.
2016 Attica Raceway Park track champion Byron Reed finished second during the Dirt Classic Ohio main event, followed by Blaney, Pennsylvania invader Brent Marks, and Craig Mintz.
“The big thing was keeping myself in the race during the first half,” Haudenschild explained. “After that spin, I just needed to regroup, keep my tires from spinning, and really focus on hitting my marks. I’m just really proud of my guys and what they do for this race team. We work as hard as we can to win races. That is what keeps us on the road. We had a blast tonight. Hopefully we can move to Wayne County tomorrow and create a similar outcome.”
Originally scheduled to start on the outside of row two, Sheldon Haudenschild was moved to the outside pole position, the result of a false start by Bryon Reed during the initial green flag. The pilot of the Southern Pacific Farms/Finzer Farms/Haudenschild Racing/No. 93 jumped to the early advantage using the top line of the speedway, leading lap one over Dale Blaney and Tim Shaffer.
For the first eight circuits, Haudenschild seemed invincible; leaning against Attica’s curb at the top of the speedway, now maintaining an advantage over Dale Blaney and Byron Reed, who snuck by Shaffer with just three laps in the books. On his way to completing lap nine, disaster nearly struck Sheldon Haudenschild; spinning in front of the field while attempting to negotiate traffic. Luckily for Haudenschild, he was able to maintain control of the car while staying in the throttle, eventually completing a 360-degree spin to keep his spot in the running order without bringing out a caution. Dale Blaney would inherit the top spot, followed by Byron Reed and now Haudenschild.
Despite the near-total loss, Haudenschild quickly worked his way back up the running order, driving back by Dale Blaney on the low side during a battle in traffic with 15 laps in the books to take over the runner-up position. After working beyond Blaney, Haudenschild set his focus back on the point position, returning his momentum to the very topside of the speedway. By lap 20, Haudenschild raced to the back bumper of Byron Reed, eventually driving by the eight-time Attica Raceway Park track champion with a textbook slide job between turns three and four. At that point, the race was Haudenschild’s to lose; opening to a near-straightaway advantage even during traffic. The second generation racer went on to score his 13th career Arctic Cat All Star victory
“I just pinned the throttle and kept it running!” Sheldon Haudenschild said regarding his spin while leading. “I knew at this track, even if you spin and keep your momentum, you have a good shot to recover and still get it done. The track was just awesome, ya know. Hats off to the track prep team. Everything this car makes goes right back into the crew and car. We need to win races like this to keep us going.”
Byron Reed raced inside the top-five during the entire 40-lap main event, leading seven laps before finishing second to Haudenschild at the final checkers.
“With the track having a curb, we knew going in that Sheldon (Haudenschild) was going to be good,” Byron Reed explained. “He’s really good on a racetrack like this. At least we were able to beat Blaney.”
Dale Blaney’s third place finish was just enough to put the “Low Rider” back on top in the current Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions title chase. The Hartford, Ohio, native now holds a mere six point advantage in the championship chase over Chad Kemenah entering round two of Labor Day weekend on Sunday evening.
Labor Day weekend will continue for the Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions on Sunday evening, September 4, at the Wayne County Speedway in Orrville, Ohio. The Pete Jacobs Memorial, honoring the late Wayne County Speedway founder and promoter who passed away in 1970, will award a $10,000 top prize on Sunday night at “Orrville’s Historic Oval,” the second of two, $10,000 top prizes for the Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions during the holiday weekend. The September 4 program will be the fourth and final Wayne County Speedway appearance for the Arctic Cat All Stars in 2016.
Wayne County Speedway will open Pete Jacobs Memorial pit gates at 3:00 pm on Sunday afternoon, September 4. A mandatory drivers meeting will be conducted at 5:30 pm, followed by hot laps at 6:10. FINDLAY, OH (August 28, 2016) - Despite Mother Nature’s attempt to end the evening just after qualifying time trials, Wooster, Ohio’s Sheldon Haudenschild cruised on to score his sixth Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions victory of the 2016 season on Sunday night at Millstream Speedway, leading all 30 circuits over fellow championship contenders Chad Kemenah and Dale Blaney. Haudenschild, pilot of the Southern Pacific Farms/Finzer Farms/Haudenschild Racing/No. 93, survived six cautions, including a fuel stop, to clinch his spot in victory lane, increasing his career win total to 12 with the Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions.
“This is huge, you know,” Haudenschild said. “We’ve struggled with qualifying here in the past. We never could get ourselves into a dash, so qualifying for the dash tonight was really important to us. That little bit of rain we got earlier in the night made the track pretty fast. It was definitely important to start up front. I can’t thank my guys enough for what they do. It wouldn’t be possible without all of them, as well as everyone else who is on the car.”
Sheldon Haudenschild jumped ahead during the initial start, taking advantage of his pole position to control the opening lap over a pair of fellow Ohio natives, Chad Kemenah and Dale Blaney. An early caution on lap five, as well as a pair of cautions on lap 10 and lap 13, may have stalled feature competition, but they never disturbed the top three in the running order. Haudenschild mastered his preferred line at the top of the speedway, which proved to be the dominant line around the Findlay, Ohio, half-mile. Chad Kemenah attempted to make the middle of the speedway work during segments of the main event, while Dale Blaney utilized the bottom groove; each proving to be unsuccessful against Haudenschild.

A late caution on lap 27 would force the feature field to refuel, setting up a four lap dash for Haudenschild, Kemenah, and Blaney. On the restart, Kemenah and Blaney each attempted to overtake Haudenschild from underneath, but a clear track and clean air proved to be too powerful for Haudenschild, driving away nearly unchallenged to score the $5,000 victory. The win, equaling his 15th top-five finish of the season, allowed the second generation racer to close in on the championship chase by another two markers, cutting Kemenah’s advantage to 68 points. Dale Blaney currently sits second, just eight points behind Kemenah.
“The track was just a little too fast to get by Sheldon (Haudenschild),” Kemenah explained. “The cushion was the fastest way around the race track and he’s good on the cushion.”
“I think we have a shot to catch Chad (Kemenah) and Dale (Blaney) in the championship,” Haudenschild said. “We just have to concentrate on winning these races. That’s what we come here to do. If things go our way, I think we’ll be OK.”
A pair of $10,000-to-win programs will headline Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions competition during Labor Day weekend, beginning with the Dirt Classic Ohio at Attica Raceway Park in Attica, Ohio, on Saturday night, September 3. The event was originally scheduled for early August, but later moved and reassigned as an Arctic Cat All Star program.
In addition to $10,000, the highly anticipated, highly raved, inaugural Dirt Classic Ohio program will also award a golden ticket; an automatic A-main starting position in the $20,000-to-win/$1,000-to-start Dirt Classic finale at Lincoln Speedway in Abbottstown, Pennsylvania, on Saturday, September 24.
The second $10,000-to-win showcase during Labor Day Weekend will be contested at the Wayne County Speedway in Orrville, Ohio, on Sunday night, September 4. The Pete Jacobs Memorial will highlight competition at “Orrville’s Historic Oval,” the fourth and final Arctic Cat All Star appearance at Wayne County Speedway in 2016.

BROWNSTOWN, IN (August 27, 2016) - “Downtown” Danny Holtgraver nearly dominated Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions competition on Saturday night at the Brownstown Speedway in Brownstown, Indiana, leading all 40 circuits to capture his third Arctic Cat All Star victory of the 2016 season, as well as the first Arctic Cat All Star victory at Brownstown Speedway since June of 1999. Holtgraver, pilot of Pete Grove’s Premier Motorsports/Premier Pallets/Bonnell’s Rod Shop/DKW Transport/No. 70 entry, started from the outside-pole position at the quarter-mile bullring, eventually holding off charges by Dale Blaney, Randy Hannagan, and Sheldon Haudenschild to score the $5,000 top prize.
“Man, I can’t thank my guys enough for all that they do for me,” Danny Holtgraver said in victory lane. “Pete Grove gave me a great opportunity this year. I can’t thank him enough for that. He allows me to come out here and do what I love to do each and every weekend. Cody Jacobs, my dad, Mike, Al; they all bust their butts and I truly appreciate it. We needed another one of these. The last few weeks haven’t been too great for us for a number of reasons. We’ll celebrate this one and get ready to try again tomorrow.”

Holtgraver wasted no time getting to the front of the feature field, taking control after the initial green flag to lead lap one over Kraig Kinser and Arctic Cat All Star point leader Chad Kemenah. The Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, native relied on Brownstown Speedway’s heavy curb for momentum, racing on top undistracted by a near-two second margin until traffic came into play, easing the pace for the first time on lap six.
Even as traffic intensified, Holtgraver kept his composure; using momentum to keep a lengthy advantage while negotiating lapped cars. Meanwhile, Chad Kemenah, Dale Blaney, and Sheldon Haudenschild created a three-car battle for positions two through four, a battle that would last for nearly 15 circuits. After multiple slide jobs and crossovers, Blaney eventually settled into second, followed by Sheldon Haudenschild and Chad Kemenah.
A caution on lap 18, and a late red flag incident on lap 35, proved to be no distraction for Danny Holtgraver, ultimately racing on to park himself in Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions victory lane for the 12th time in his career. Dale Blaney, aboard his familiar GoMuddy.com/Big Game Treestands/CH Motorsports/No. 1, finished second after starting fifth, followed by Randy Hannagan, who climbed from the outside of row five to earn his podium performance. The “Hurricane” made his first appearance in a podium position on lap 33, driving under the familiar No. 93 of Sheldon Haudenschild in traffic.
“I just felt really comfortable from the start. Cody and the guys had this thing exactly where it needed to be,” Holtgraver said. “The top was where I felt the strongest. It started to get pretty tricky; not a lot left toward the end of the race. You kinda had to tip-toe your way around there and make sure you didn’t get sucked over the edge. Traffic was tough at times, but we were able to get through it pretty well without too many hiccups. I’m just really happy to be back in this position. We’ll try to double-up on the weekend tomorrow night at Millstream.”
The 2016 Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions title chase continues to make headlines, as only 70 points separate the top three competitors in the current championship standings. Using his runner-up finish at Brownstown Speedway, Dale Blaney has chipped away Chad Kemenah’s advantage to just six points with only nine events remaining in 2016. Sheldon Haudenschild finds himself third in the championship standings, just 70 points out of the top spot. Cap Henry and Danny Holtgraver round-out the top-five, respectively.
The Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions will officially end the month of August with a visit to the Millstream Speedway in Findlay, Ohio, on Sunday night, August 28. It will be the second and final Millstream appearance of the 2016 season for “America’s Series,” the 55th overall appearance by the traveling circuit since their first visit in 1982. Dale Blaney is the most recent Arctic Cat All Star winner at the Findlay half-mile, holding back Chad Kemenah and Kyle Larson during Ohio Sprint Speedweek presented by Cometic Gasket on June 19. The victory, the fourth of Blaney’s Arctic Cat All Star career at Millstream Speedway, was worth $5,000.

“Double-D” Danny Dietrich Cruises to Lincoln Speedway Victory Lane for Second All Star Win of 2016,
Four-Race Weekend Swing Concludes Sunday Night at Lebanon Valley Speedway

ABBOTTSTOWN, PA (August 20, 2016) - “Double-D” Danny Dietrich used traffic to his advantage on Saturday night at Lincoln Speedway, cruising on to score his second Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions feature prize of 2016. The Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, native dominated the final 13 circuits of the 30-lap feature program, crossing under the final checkers nearly three seconds ahead of second place finisher Alan Krimes. Lucas Wolf would round out the podium finishers, completing a podium sweep for the “Pennsylvania Posse” in the Pigeon Hills.
“Man, it feels really good to be back at Lincoln Speedway,” Danny Dietrich explained, pilot of the Gary Kauffman Racing, Sandoe’s Fuit Marks, Weikert’s Livestock, No. 48. “It feels like we haven’t been here in so long, but I think we have something figured out now. I can’t thank my guys enough; Jake, Cody, Tyler - they all work hard and keep me going in the right direction. All of my major sponsors make all of this possible, also. This car was good all night long. We went back to some older notes and mixed them up with some other stuff and it all worked out.”
A pair of “Pennsylvania Posse” competitors, Lucas Wolfe and Danny Dietrich, led the 26 feature starters to green at the “Fabulous” Lincoln Speedway on Saturday night. Wolfe took command during the initial start, officially leading the first circuit ahead of Danny Dietrich, Alan Krimes, Dale Blaney, and Freddie Rahmer. Those five competitors would race in that order until the main event’s first and only caution flew on lap four, halting action for a four-car tangle in turn one.
Green flag conditions would resume with Lucas Wolfe returning to his position at the front of the field. The Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, native raced ahead of Danny Dietrich and Alan Krimes for the next several circuits, approaching lapped traffic for the first time with 12 laps recorded. Traffic allowed Dietrich and Krimes to close the gap, ultimately creating a three-car battle nearly nose-to-tail.
By lap 17, Danny Dietrich was able to work his way under Lucas Wolfe during their battle in traffic, officially leading the lap with Wolfe and Krimes still in tow. Almost immediately, Dietrich opened his advantage, navigating traffic using both grooves of the Lincoln Speedway surface. No challenges would arise for Dietrich during the closing circuits, crossing under the final checkers nearly three seconds ahead of Alan Krimes and Lucas Wolfe. Krimes, who started on the outside of the second row, raced his way to second on lap 20.
“I was just kinda working some different lines there the first part of the race. I was pretty tight during the first half, so I knew the car would eventually come to me,” Dietrich said. “I just tried to stick with Lucas (Wolfe) the best that I could at the beginning. I played my cards out right and was able to use lapped traffic to my advantage a little bit. That’s what we have to do to win these races.”
Following the “Pennsylvania Posse” podium sweep was Dale Blaney and Freddie Rahmer. Blaney’s top-five finish was solid enough to put the defending Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions titlist back on top in the 2016 championship chase, now holding a four point advantage over Chad Kemenah. Kemenah entered Lincoln Speedway as the Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions point leader.
For the first time in series history, the Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions will venture north and visit areas of West Lebanon, New York, set to tackle the high-banked half-mile of Lebanon Valley Speedway. The Upstate New York visit will conclude a four-race campaign through Central Pennsylvania and New York for Tony Stewart’s Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions, all starting at the Grandview Speedway in Bechtelsville, Pennsylvania, on Thursday night, August 18.
Lebanon Valley Speedway in West Lebanon, New York, will open pit gates at 3:00 pm on Sunday, August 21. The mandatory drivers meeting will be conducted at 5:30 with hot laps to follow at 6:15. Brian Montieth Uses Last Lap Pass to Take Down Lance Dewease during All Star Visit to Williams Grove Speedway, Four-Race Swing Continues Saturday at the "Fabulous" Lincoln Speedway
MECHANICSBURG, PA (August 19, 2016) - After what seemed to be a lock for Lance Dewease at Williams Grove Speedway on Friday night, taking command during mid-point of the Jack Gunn Memorial main event before charging ahead to a two second advantage, “The Edge” Brian Montieth used his familiar top line of the speedway to track down Dewease during the closing laps, charging under the familiar Donnie Kreitz-owned, No. 69K on the final circuit. The Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions victory was the fourth of Montieth’s career, earning $5,000 for his efforts during the non-stop 30-lapper, as well as a first-ever Jack Gunn Memorial trophy. Lance Dewease held on to finish second, followed by Tim Shaffer, Stevie Smith, and Greg Hodnett.
“I was just trying to save fuel,” said Brian Montieth in victory lane. “Once he got by me early in the race, my mentality changed to ‘hero or zero.’ Those last three or four laps, I really pushed myself. That’s what you have to do against those guys. Donnie and Lance; those guys are just so consistent during the entire race. If it wasn’t for the curb, I don’t think I would have caught them. To be here in victory lane, with the season those guys are having, feels great. We are thrilled to be here.”
Brian Montieth and Lance Dewease led the 26 feature starters to green on Friday night at Williams Grove Speedway. Montieth jumped to the early advantage, leading Lance Dewease and Tim Shaffer under the flagstand and the completion of lap one. Monteith quickly stretched his advantage, increasing his command by 1.2 seconds just before reaching traffic for the first time on lap seven.
As traffic increased, Montieth’s advantage decreased, eventually tracked down and passed by Lance Dewease at the exit of turn two on the 13th circuit. Despite Dewease extending his lead to nearly two seconds during the next 12 circuits, Montieth kept pace and relied on the topside, using the Williams Grove Speedway curb to reel in the nine-time Central Pennsylvania winner in 2016. “The Edge” drove to the tail-tank of Dewease at the white flag, setting up a slide job between turn one and turn two. The slide job attempt would stick, allowing the Phoenixville, Pennsylvania, native to drive off to score his first Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions victory of the season.
“We were just kind of hanging on there at the end,” Lance Dewease said. “We weren’t very good down the straightaways. I made a mistake there in three and four with two laps to go that kinda hurt us a little bit. I heard Brian (Montieth) behind me at the flagstand coming to the white. I was hoping to drive back underneath him, but I just wasn’t good enough to do that. Congrats to those guys. They deserved this one. We’ve been having a great year so we won’t let this get to us.”
The Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions will continue their four-day trek through the heart of Central Pennsylvania and Upstate New York with a Saturday night, August 20, visit to the “Fabulous” Lincoln Speedway in Abbottstown, Pennsylvania. Similar to the last two evenings, the Arctic Cat All Star visit to Lincoln Speedway will be a first and only for the series in 2016; the 33rd Lincoln Speedway appearance in Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions history. “The Edge” Brian Montieth is the defending Arctic Cat All Star winner in the Pigeon Hills, securing top honors on June 13, 2015.
