Danny Holtgraver Scores $10,000 during 8th Annual Lou Blaney Memorial
First ever Arctic Cat All Star victory at Sharon Speedway

HARTFORD, Ohio (July 9, 2016) - “Downtown” Danny Holtgraver scored the largest Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions victory of his career on Saturday night at Sharon Speedway, claiming the eighth annual Lou Blaney Memorial worth $10,000. The Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, native led all 30 circuits at the Hartford, Ohio, oval, surviving a last restart bobble to eventually hold back fourth row starter Sheldon Haudenschild and Ohio veteran Dean Jacobs at the final checkers. Holtgraver now owns two Arctic Cat All Star wins in 2016, raising his career win total to 11.

“I had to keep things exciting I guess,” explained Danny Holtgraver regarding the main event’s last restart. “I didn’t quite get the restart that I wanted. I’m not sure if I was nervous, or just excited, but all that matters is we made it through it and got this one. This means so much to this team. I can’t thank everyone enough. These guys have been giving me some awesome race cars lately. I’m having so much fun.”

Danny Holtgraver started second on the main event grid, jumping to an early advantage over Josh Baughman and Caleb Griffith. After two cautions on lap two, one of which involving Josh Baughman with nose wing damage, green flag competition resumed with Holtgraver holding the point. The pilot of Pete Grove’s Premier Motorsports/No. 70 reached the tail of the field by lap five, navigating safely on the topside of the speedway before approaching even heavier traffic by lap ten. In the meantime, Dean Jacobs, who started fifth on the feature grid, worked his way into second on lap four, setting chase on Holtgraver’s Premier Motorsports entry. Despite the traffic, Jacobs never lost sight of the leader, keeping Holtgraver within a few car lengths until caution lights reappeared on lap 19.

Competition resumed with Holtgraver maintaining his position at the front of the field, flanked by Dean Jacobs and now Sheldon Haudenschild. Six more laps would be completed with the same running order, only to be stopped by caution lights on lap 25, setting up a clear track and clean air once again for Danny Holtgraver.

Not without a restart hiccup, nearly making contact with the front stretch wall, Holtgraver brought the field back to green for the final time of the night. Sheldon Haudenschild made a surge to second on lap 25, driving by Dean Jacobs who started to feel the effects of a damaged nose wing. Even after the stumble, clean air and a clear track proved to be an advantage for Holtgraver, driving on to secure $10,000 by nearly two seconds. It was his first ever Lou Blaney Memorial title and his first ever Arctic Cat All Star victory at Sharon Speedway.

“It was just a great night all together,” Holtgraver explained. “This team has been on a pretty good streak lately. Everything is really clicking and we’ve been getting more and more comfortable with each other. We’re having so much fun. That’s probably the most important part. The stress is gone and the pressure is gone. We can get to the track and just enjoy what we are doing. I can’t wait to try to do it again next weekend.”

The Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions will continue their 2016 campaign with an appearance at the Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio. “America’s Series” will join the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series during their appearance at the World’s Greatest Dirt Track, taking part in the 33rd annual Kings Royal. The Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions will officially join the Kings Royal agenda during the $50,000-to-win finale on Saturday night, July 16. The appearance will be worth show up points only. Shane Stewart is the defending event winner, scoring the $50,000 top prize over Jason Johnson and Rico Abreu a year ago.

Sheldon Haudenschild Sweeps Independence Day Weekend Swing by Claiming Inaugural Dirty 30 at I-96 Speedway

LAKE ODESSA, Michigan (July 3, 2016) - For the second time in as many days, Sheldon Haudenschild is a main event winner with the Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions, this time claiming the Inaugural Dirty 30 at I-96 Speedway in Lake Odessa, Michigan. Much like Saturday night at Hartford Speedway, Haudenschild dominated the Dirty 30 main event, leading all 30 laps from the front row to score his fifth Arctic Cat All Star victory of the 2016 season. The Wooster, Ohio, native is now tied with Dale Blaney for the most feature wins on the Arctic Cat All Star tour in 2016, raising his career bar to 11.

“Once again, Bonzai and Zach had this car right where it needed to be. They are really making my job easy,” Sheldon Haudenschild explained. “We’ve never had a weekend like this. This is just awesome. To get two All Star wins is really special. It definitely helps our point situation. I feel like we are just now getting going. We have some bigger events coming up so we’re just gonna keep working.”

Sheldon Haudenschild started second on the feature grid alongside Cap Henry. After a red on the initial start, the Inaugural Dirty 30 main event would officially get underway with Haudenschild earning the early advantage. By lap five, the pilot of the familiar Southern Pacific Farms/No. 93 stretched his advantage to nearly a straightaway, utilizing his preferred line at the top of the speedway, even maintaining that advantage while negotiating traffic.

After the red on the initial start, three additional cautions halted the 30-lap main event, each erasing a near half-track advantage for Sheldon Haudenschild. The momentum pause never created a problem for Haudenschild, returning to a lengthy lead after each restart. The evening’s final caution appeared on lap 28, setting up a green-white-checkered restart. Even then, Haudenschild was unchallenged, racing ahead to score a second consecutive Arctic Cat All Star victory. On a special note, Haudenschild led every main event lap of Independence Day weekend, a grand total of 55 circuits.

“Downtown” Danny Holtgraver finished second after starting fifth on the feature grid. The Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, native made his way to second by lap six, maintaining that position for the remaining distance. Kraig Kinser finished third, climbing ahead from the outside of row six.

“We got a great start there. I just focused on hitting my lines,” Haudenschild said. “The track was perfect. I’m not sure where second and third were behind me, but I feel like they could have kept up with me on the bottom if they had to. I felt like I could get through lappers really well once we got to them because they were all kinda stuck on the bottom. I just cruised around there. I don’t even know what to say.”

The Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions will continue their 2016 campaign on Saturday evening, July 9, back at the Sharon Speedway in Hartford, Ohio. The 8th annual Lou Blaney Memorial will headline competition at the state-of-the-art racing facility, awarding a $10,000 top prize to the main event winner. It will be the second and final Sharon Speedway appearance for the Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions in 2016. “BC” Bryan Clauson is the most recent Sharon Speedway feature winner during Arctic Cat All Star competition, scoring an Ohio Sprint Speedweek presented by Cometic Gasket victory on Tuesday evening, June 21.

Sharon Speedway will open Lou Blaney Memorial gates at 1:00 pm on Saturday afternoon, July 9. Formed in 1970 by Bud Miller, the series has largely been considered the first 'outlaw' Sprint Car organization of the modern era. After a 10 year stint as owner of the All Stars, Miller passed control of the series to Bert Emick in 1980; a reign that would continue through 2002. Guy Webb then purchased the series from Emick in the summer of 2002 and served as the series President for the next 12 years. Motorsports entrepreneur Tony Stewart agreed to terms with Guy Webb to become the sole owner of the original winged sprint car tour in January of 2015.

Sheldon Haudenschild Holds Off Dale Blaney for Arctic Cat All Star Victory at Hartford Speedway,
Inaugural Dirty 30 On Deck

HARTFORD, Michigan (July 2, 2016) - Wooster, Ohio’s Sheldon Haudenschild held off one of the best in the business for 25 laps on Saturday night, July 2, at Hartford Speedway, clinching a tenth career Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions victory and his first ever at the Hartford, Michigan, half-mile. The pilot of the Southern Pacific Farms/No. 93 started from the pole position and led every lap of the “King of Michigan” program, holding off fellow front row starter Dale Blaney and recently crowned Ohio Sprint Speedweek presented by Cometic Gasket champion Chad Kemenah at the final checkers. Haudenschild’s Arctic Cat All Star victory, the fourth of his 2016 campaign, was worth $5,000.

“Bonzai Bruns and Zach Ames have this car rolling right now,” Haudenschild explained. “That makes my job a lot easier. That track was awesome tonight. It feels really good to have four wins in one season. I don’t think we’ve ever done that before. We’ll take this one and move on from here.”

Clean air and momentum were key elements in Haudenschild’s dominate performance at the front of the field. A perfect jump during the opening green flag allowed Haudenschild to establish both, all while utilizing the very topside of the speedway. Dale Blaney would settle into second, followed by Bloomington, Indiana’s Kraig Kinser at the completion of lap one.

By lap five, Haudenschild worked to a sizeable lead over Dale Blaney and Kraig Kinser, only to lose that advantage due to a caution on lap six. Green flag conditions resumed with Haudenschild returning to the topside of the speedway. The distance separating Haudenschild and Blaney returned to a half-straightaway, only to be halted once more for a caution on lap ten.

Dale Blaney’s strongest challenge to overtake the top spot occurred during the lap ten restart when the defending Arctic Cat All Star champion dived to the bottom of turn one in an attempt to slide in front of Haudenschild. Haudenschild used momentum to power back around Blaney at the exit of turn two, ultimately resetting his familiar pace at the front of the running order.

Haudenschild and Blaney reached traffic for the first and only time on lap 15, each having to negotiate slower cars for three circuits before caution conditions appeared again on lap 18. In the meantime, Danny Holtgraver worked his way to third in the running order from fifth, tracked by sixth row starter Chad Kemenah.

One last caution halted the feature field on lap 21, resulting in a last-ditch effort for Dale Blaney. Unfortunately for Blaney, his efforts were not threatening, maintaining second at the exit of turn two. Sheldon Haudenschild went on to win the “King of Michigan” program featuring the Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions. Dale Blaney finished second, followed by Chad Kemenah from 12th, Randy Hannagan, and Danny Holtgraver.

“I saw Dale (Blaney) get below me there in one and two,” Haudenschild said. “I knew I would have to get to the top a little quicker during any other restarts. I think clean air really helped us, but I wasn’t afraid of the slower cars. I feel like I would have worked through them, maybe even a little bit better than Dale. I had a really good car and I feel like I could have raced it anywhere. I just never had to go to the bottom. We’re excited to try again tomorrow.”

Tony Stewart Presents the Inaugural Dirty 30 at I-96 Speedway in Lake Odessa, Michigan, will wrap up Independence Day weekend for the Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions. It will be the final Michigan appearance of the 2016 season for the Arctic Cat All Stars, awarding a $5,000 winner’s share after 30 laps of green flag competition. In addition, the UMP super late models will also be on the Dirty 30 agenda competing for a $1,500 top prize. The evening will conclude with a holiday fireworks display.

Dirty 30 at I-96 Speedway pit gates are scheduled to swing open at 2:00 pm on Sunday afternoon, July 3. Main stands will open at 3, with the Tony Stewart autograph session beginning at 4:30. ROSSBURG, Ohio (June 25, 2016) - The “Wild Child” Jac Haudenschild certainly lived up to his label on Saturday night at Eldora Speedway, earning the Ohio Sprint Speedweek presented by Cometic Gasket finale worth $10,000 with the Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions. Haudenschild, pilot of the familiar Phoenix Racing/No. 59, took command of the 30-lap feature program on lap 17, surviving traffic and constant pressure from Chad Kemenah and Tim Shaffer on the very topside of the speedway. The Wooster, Ohio, native now owns 30 career victories with the Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions, two of which occurring during the 2016 season. Tim Shaffer would cross under the final checkers second, followed by Chad Kemenah, Randy Hannagan, and Danny Holtgraver.

“The car was just really good all night long,” said Jac Haudenschild in victory lane. “Feels good to be back with this team. This is a big win for us. We’ll be back at Eldora Speedway next month, so we’ll try to keep this going and get another one.”

Jac Haudenschild won the battle, but Chad Kemenah won the war, claiming the 2016 Ohio Sprint Speedweek presented by Cometic Gasket title worth $1,000. It is a second ever Ohio Sprint Speedweek championship for the Alvada, Ohio, native and a first ever title for car owner Rob Hunter. Sheldon Haudenschild finished second in the overall Ohio Sprint Speedweek presented by Cometic Gasket title chase, followed by Tim Shaffer, Dean Jacobs, and Kraig Kinser.

“This is a really big deal for our team,” explained Chad Kemenah regarding his Ohio Sprint Speedweek presented by Cometic Gasket title. “My car owner (Rob Hunter) has never won an Ohio Sprint Speedweek title. It’s especially special for us because some of our biggest supporters are here tonight at Eldora Speedway with us. This is a really big momentum boost for our team. Rob and Rita Hunter consistently give us great race cars and great equipment to work with. We’re racing good and that allows us to have a lot of fun.”

With the runner-up finish during the Ohio Sprint Speedweek presented by Cometic Gasket finale, Chad Kemenah officially takes control of the Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions title chase, holding a mere 14 point advantage over defending champion Dale Blaney leading into Independence Day weekend.

Randy Hannagan Tames Limaland for Arctic Cat All Star Victory,
Steals Ohio Sprint Speedweek presented by Cometic Gasket win from Jamie Veal

LIMA, Ohio (June 24, 2016) - Randy Hannagan became the sixth different Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions main event winner in the last seven races on Friday night, taming Limaland Motorsports Park in Lima, Ohio, during night seven of Ohio Sprint Speedweek presented by Cometic Gasket. “The Hurricane” charged ahead from row six on the main event starting grid, ultimately climbing 11 positions in 40 laps, not taking command officially until lap 38 and stealing the show from pole sitter Jamie Veal. The Arctic Cat All Star victory was the first of the 2016 season for Randy Hannagan.

“I’m getting too old to run the top,” Randy Hannagan said in victory lane. “I knew guys were going to run the very top and run the very bottom, so I decided to try the middle. I can’t thank my guys enough for their hard work and support. We’ve got a lot of laps at this track. Feels good to get back to victory lane.”

Randy Hannagan patiently worked his way forward from 12th on the feature grid, utilizing the middle of Limaland’s high banked quarter-mile for most of the distance. The San Jose, California, native, now residing in Pittsboro, Indiana, cracked the top-three by lap 19, igniting a four lap battle with Wooster, Ohio’s Sheldon Haudenschild for second and third in the running order. The pilot of the Ed Neumeister-owned/NAPA Upper Auto/No. 11N worked his way into second permanently by lap 26, resetting his focus on race leader Jamie Veal.

A late race caution on lap 34 stacked the field back together for a final time, putting Hannagan on the back bumper of Veal. Hannagan, still utilizing the middle of the speedway, made his bid for the top spot on lap 38, driving under Veal, who led every lap until that point, just before the flagstand. “The Hurricane” went on to separate himself from the field during the closing circuits, eventually followed by Jamie Veal and Travis Philo at the final checkers. It was Hannagan’s ninth career victory with the Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions.

“I want to thank all of the fans for coming out tonight and supporting this race,” said Hannagan. “The All Star officials did a fantastic job keeping this show organized. My team and I are very happy to be here. We’ll head down to Eldora Speedway tomorrow and try this again.”

The final night of the 34th annual Ohio Sprint Speedweek presented by Cometic Gasket will take shape at none other than the World’s Greatest Dirt Track. Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio, will welcome the Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions on Saturday night, June 25, for the eighth and final round of Ohio Sprint Speedweek presented by Cometic Gasket, ending a nine day stretch of competition across much of the Buckeye State. The 2016 speedweek finale will award $10,000 to the main event winner, the largest payday of the week. An Ohio Sprint Speedweek presented by Cometic Gasket champion will also be crowned on Saturday night at the “Big E,” a title worth $1,000 for a second consecutive season.

Sheldon Haudenschild is currently on top of the Ohio Sprint Speedweek presented by Cometic Gasket point standings entering the Eldora Speedway finale. Chad Kemenah only trails by two points. A 2016 champion will be decided at the “Big E.”

Kyle Larson Earns Ohio Sprint Speedweek presented by Cometic Gasket Victory at Atomic Speedway,
First repeat winner of the week

CHILLICOTHE, Ohio (June 22, 2016) - Kyle Larson earned his second Ohio Sprint Speedweek presented by Cometic Gasket victory of 2016 during round six on Wednesday evening, June 22, at Atomic Speedway. Larson used traffic to his advantage to garner the win, taking command over race leader Sheldon Haudenschild on lap 21. From there, the Elk Grove, California, native cruised ahead and led the last ten circuits to score the $5,000 top prize. It was a fourth career Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions victory for the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series star, his first at Atomic Speedway. Larson is the first repeat winner of the 34th edition of Ohio Sprint Speedweek presented by Cometic Gasket.

“My crew has been working their tails off all week,” said Kyle Larson. “Paul Silva actually found some things wrong with our car and fixed them overnight. It really made a world of difference. I can’t thank him enough for allowing me to come out here and have some fun this week. It’s pretty cool to come out here and be competitive against a field like this.”

Kyle Larson started third on the feature grid, maintaining third in the running order at the completion of lap one. After surviving a four lap battle with Tim Shaffer for the third spot, Larson moved on and started his chase toward the front.

By lap 14, Larson worked around Cole Duncan for second, utilizing the high side of turns one and turn and the low side of turns three and four. Heavy traffic started to come into play for race leader Sheldon Haudenschild by lap 18, allowing Larson to close a near two second gap. Larson made his winning move on lap 21, driving under the Wooster, Ohio, native near the apron of turn three. Despite heavy pressure by Cole Duncan, Sheldon Haudenschild held on to finish second, followed by Duncan, Tim Shaffer, and Randy Hannagan.

“I honestly didn’t think I’d be up here as a winner tonight” explained Kyle Larson in victory lane. “I can’t thank you fans enough for coming out tonight. That race was a lot of fun. We were really fast all night long and the track really gets good when it widens out and slicks off like that. I was able to get by Sheldon there in traffic. The track was starting to take a little bit of rubber. I was able to find it before Sheldon (Haudenschild). Happy to be back here in victory lane. Already excited to return.”

Ohio Sprint Speedweek presented by Cometic Gasket will continue with round seven on Friday evening, June 24, at the Limaland Motorsports Park in Lima, Ohio. The high paced quarter-mile will kick off the final weekend of Ohio Sprint Speedweek competition for the Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions, ending officially on Saturday night, June 25, at the Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio. Limaland did not host an Ohio Sprint Speedweek event during the 2015 season, losing a battle to Mother Nature.

Bryan Clauson Scores First Ever Arctic Cat All Star Win During Ohio Sprint Speedweek presented by Cometic Gasket Visit to Sharon Speedway

HARTFORD, Ohio (June 21, 2016) - For the first time in his career, Bryan Clauson earned top honors during Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions competition, scoring round five of Ohio Sprint Speedweek presented by Cometic Gasket at Sharon Speedway in Hartford, Ohio. The Noblesville, Indiana, native is the fifth different feature winner during Ohio Sprint Speedweek thus far, leading the last 24 circuits to score the $5,000 top prize. Cap Henry followed Clauson to the finish, followed by Danny Holtgraver, Dale Blaney, and Dean Jacobs.

“We were really good last year when we were here, so I knew we had a really good baseline to start with,” explained Clauson, pilot of the Cancer Treatment Centers of America/Elk Grove Ford/No. 17W. “My guys worked hard on this thing all night. Sometimes we aren’t where we need to be every night, but we keep getting better and better. I just tried to get out front and run as fast as I could.”

Bryan Clauson started fourth on the main event grid and raced his way to third after the initial start. Fortunately for Clauson, bad luck struck early leader Chad Kemenah on lap six, resulting in the Hunter Racing entry nearly spinning to the infield in turn four, collecting second place running Caleb Griffith in the process. Clauson inherited the point, followed by Cap Henry and Dean Jacobs.

Green flag action resumed with Bryan Clauson showing the way. The recent Indianapolis 500 starter set the pace at the top of the speedway, racing nearly unpressured for the remaining distance. Traffic came into play by the midpoint of the race, allowing Cap Henry and Dean Jacobs to close the gap. Despite heavy traffic increasing by lap 25 of 30, Clauson kept his distance, ultimately becoming the 205th different Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions feature winner in series history.

“I didn’t think I’d win a race during Ohio Sprint Speedweek, so this is pretty cool,” said Bryan Clauson. “This is really special. You look at what we did a few nights ago and you’d think we would never be up here. My guys just keep digging and keep working hard. I’m glad to put 30 solid laps together for them tonight and get a win during Ohio Sprint Speedweek.”

The Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions will continue the 34th edition of Ohio Sprint Speedweek presented by Cometic Gasket with round six on Wednesday evening, June 22, at the Atomic Speedway in Chillicothe, Ohio. The Arctic Cat All Stars made three attempts to host competition at the Atomic highbanks in 2016, with all three losing to Mother Nature. Dale Blaney earned the 2015 Ohio Sprint Speedweek victory at Atomic Speedway, holding back Cole Duncan and eventual speedweek champion Greg Wilson.

Atomic Speedway will open pit gates at 4:00 pm on Wednesday afternoon, June 22. The Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions drivers meeting will be conducted at 5:30, followed by warm ups at 6:15.
