HOWARD, KLINE, LILICK, SMITH AND MYERS GARNER GRANDVIEW FEATURE VICTORIES ON A.D.MOYER NIGHT AT GRANDVIEW SPEEDWAY
BECHTELSVILLE, PA AUGUST 28, 2016 . . . The previous Saturday night, Duane Howard’s car sat in the Grandview Speedway pits destroyed due to an on track accident. The Norm Hansell owned No. 357H team worked diligently during the week and had another car prepared for the five-time track Modified point champion and the effort paid off. This Saturday night Howard started 14th in the 28-car starting grid and with three laps to go in the 30-Lap T.P. Trailers NASCAR 358 Modified All-American Racing Series feature sponsored by A.D. Moyer Hardware & Lumber, he managed to wrestle the lead away from DIRT Hall of Famer Frank Cozze on a restart. He never gave up the lead and this time he parked the car in victory lane for his third win of the season. He was thankful that Hansell put him in his second car to teammate Brett Kressley to give him the opportunity to compete at the 1/3-mile oval after losing his regular ride a few weeks prior. In addition to the top prize he also pocketed $250 from T.P. Trailers.
Ron Kline posted his third 25-Lap BRC NASCAR Late Model feature since getting behind the wheel of the Jr. Grebe/Wanda Brown No. 3X. This time he had to hold off the late race challenges of Randy Stoudt, who was in search of his 67th career win. He also earned an additional $100 from T.P. Trailers and the ½-way Dan’s Deli hoagie award.
In the caution filled 25-lap NASCAR Sportsman feature Ryan Lilick was victorious for the second time of the year. T.P. Trailers also awarded Lilick $100.
The two 15-Lap Blast From The Past Vintage car features were won by Dave Smith and Ron Myers.
The battle for the championships in all three divisions of NASCAR sanctioned stock car racing comes to an end next Saturday. The WNPV-1440AM Radio sponsored night of racing will feature the T.P.Trailers 358 Modifieds, BRC Late Models and Sportsman stock cars starting at 7:30 p.m.
This will be the final point races of the season at the Bechtelsville track. The top spot in the season long chase for the title in each division will earn the top finisher a healthy payoff from both NASCAR and the track.
Many of the Modified racers will also be using the night to get some additional track time as they prepare for the Granddaddy of area classics, the 46th Annual Freedom 76 paying $25,000 to win and taking place on Saturday, September 10th. Many of the top names in Modified racing will be taking part.
Bobby Gunther-Walsh took the early lead at the onset of the Modified feature and held that position until Justin Grim, who was having a solid fourth place run, stopped in turn four bringing out the caution with nine laps completed. On the restart, rookie Brett Kressley charged to the front trying to capture his second win leaving Gunther-Walsh, Brian Krummel, Cozze and Howard to dice for the remaining positions.
With 18 laps in the books Kressley had an enormous lead built up and encountered numerous lap cars.
At one point Kressley went between Carroll Hine III and Chris Gambler. Both Hine III and Gambler spun in turn two creating a lap 22 caution. Hine III and Gambler continued, but before action resumed Kressley pulled into the infield with ignition problems. The turn of events put Gunther-Walsh back in front for the restart with Cozze alongside. When action went green, Cozze and Gunther-Walsh traded paint and Cozze emerged as the new leader. Howard, Craig VonDohren and Krummel followed through as Gunther-Walsh got shuffled back to fourth with Doug Manmiller fifth.
Hine III regrouped the pack when he stopped in the third turn on the 27th lap. This restart saw Howard become the new pacesetter.
Krummel, running a strong fifth, lost a left rear wheel for the final yellow with two to go. Howard wasted no time since he knew Cozze, VonDohren, Mike Gular, who started 22nd after winning the consolation and Manmiller were right on his bumper waiting to make their move.
Howard kept the momentum going and was able to keep his fellow competitors behind him to pull into the winner’s circle for his 71st career win. Finishing second was Cozze followed by VonDohren, Gular and Manmiller, who finally had a change of luck for a decent finish.
Mike Kellner, Ryan Grim and Gunther-Walsh won the heats. The consolation race went to Gular.
In Late Model action Joe “Geezer” Fanelli led for two laps before Kline overtook him.
While Kline showed the way, Fanelli, Bryon Sipe, Steve Todorow and Dan Green jockeyed for second through fifth.
Sean Merkel stopped in the second turn with smoke coming out of the car for the lap 11 caution. Kline held his spot on the restart, but by now Stoudt, a two-time point champion, was in the runner-up spot in pursuit of the former point champion, who was already outdistancing himself.
By the 17th lap Stoudt, running the high groove, reeled in Kline, who took the inside lane. Stoudt made several challenges, but to no avail.
Kline didn’t give anyone an opportunity to overtake him and scored another win trailed by Stoudt, Wayne Pfeil, Chuck Schutz and Sipe.
After three tries to complete one lap in the Sportsman feature, rookie Andrew Kreis was at the head of the pack with Pat Conrad, Brandon Whitmoyer, Dylan Swinehart and Ryan Lilick pressuring him.
Brandon Whitmoyer became the new leader on the 10th lap.
Lady Luck certainly wasn’t with the Whitmoyer’s for this event as Craig, Brandon’s brother, started the night first in points but was eliminated earlier which dropped him to third in the point standings and now Brandon’s car had a huge bellow of smoke which caused him to stop in turns three and four on lap 17. Whitmoyer’s misfortune put Kreis back in first again on the restart with Ryan Lilick on his tailpipe.
Lilick passed Kreis for the lead one lap later and was able to hold off the challenges of Joe Funk III for the win.
Following Lilick and Funk III across the line were Jordan Henn, who regained the point lead with this finish; Kreis and Brad Arnold.
B. Whitmoyer, Funk III and Dylan Swinehart were the heat winners. The consolation race was won by Mike Lisowski.

CRAIG VONDOHREN EARNS 100TH MODIFIED VICTORY AT GRANDVIEW; BRIAN SHUEY TOPS IN LATE MODELS AND PAUL KLINE WINS SPORTSMAN MAIN EVENT ON SATURDAY NIGHT
BECHTELSVILLE, PA. August 21, 2016 . . . It all began in 1981 when Craig VonDohren won his first modified feature at Grandview Speedway. As time went on the defending point champion continued to rack up the wins driving for either the family or other car owners. Saturday night, 35 years later, the Oley leadfoot and current point leader, scored his 100th win in the division the post back-to-back victorious and his fifth of the season in the 35-Lap T.P. Trailers NASCAR 358 Modified All-American Racing Series feature event. In addition to the top prize he also pocketed $250 from T.P. Trailers plus $150 in product contingency awards from VP Fuels for running gas.
Brian Shuey also scored his fifth win of the season by a 0.607 margin over runner-up Dan Green in the 25-Lap BRC NASCAR Late Model feature to be the seventh different winner. He also earned an additional $100 from T.P. Trailers and the ½-way Dan’s Deli hoagie award.
The caution riddled 25-lap NASCAR Sportsman feature winner for the third time was Paul Kline as time ran short for runner-up Craig Whitmoyer to catch him. Whitmoyer’s second place finish put him on top of the point standings ahead of Jordan Henn and Mike Lisowski. T.P. Trailers also awarded Kline $100.
NASCAR stock car racing action returns to Grandview Speedway on Saturday, August 27th, featuring the T.P.Trailers 358 Modifieds, BRC Late Models and Sportsman along with Blast from the Past Vintage racers. The night of racing is sponsored by A.D.Moyer Lumber and gets started at 7:30 p.m. Just two nights of point racing remain in the 2016 season.
Polesitter Blaine Bracelin Jr. set the pace for ten laps of the Modified feature before Steve Swinehart spun in the fourth turn for the first yellow. On the restart Don Norris Jr. charged to the head of the pack with Mike Kellner, Bracelin Jr., John Willman and Bobby Gunther Walsh in tow.
Bracelin’s fine third place run went up in smoke bringing out the 14th lap caution. This time when the raced went green again Kellner stormed into first leaving Norris Jr., Brett Kressley, Ryan Grim and Jeff Strunk dice for the remaining top five positions.
By the 21st lap, Kellner, Norris Jr. and Kressley were in a three-way battle for the lead while VonDohren and Strunk waited in the wings for the right opportunity to advance.
Frank Cozze and Eric Biehn tangled in the fourth turn using the 23rd lap caution period. Kellner motored away quickly, but VonDohren made some bold moves as he found the right lanes and went from fourth to the lead as they crossed the line to complete the next lap.
With five laps to go the order behind VonDohren consisted of Strunk, Mike Gular, Kressley and Norris Jr.
After the white flag unfurled coming down the homeshute, Norris Jr. and Duane Howard, driving Norm Hansell’s second No. 357H, made contact. Howard hit the wall with heavy impact, bounced off the wall and into traffic in turn one. The cars were coming full speed and Tim Buckwalter had nowhere to go and hit the motionless car of Howard. Danny Erb hit the pair full force as he too had no room to maneuver and took a violent flip. Nate Christman was also involved. Buckwalter and Erb were shaken up and taken for observation. Norris Jr. was penalized to the back of the field for initializing the incident, but he decided to go pit side instead. VonDohren stayed in front to become the seventh different winner on the final lap, but coming in for the checkered flag Gular shot past Strunk for second with Strunk dropping to third followed by Kressley and Kenny Gilmore.
VonDohren, Strunk and Willman were the heat winners. The consi went to Cozze.
In BRC Late Model action Shuey led from the drop of the green until the wave of the checkered to win his 20th career victory and fifth of the season.
Throughout the course of the event Joe Fanelli, Bryon Sipe, Dan Green and Bill Henning swapped positions.
Sean Merkel and Randy Stoudt spun in the fourth turn for the ninth lap caution. It was still Shuey at the head of the pack.
The next caution was when Cory Merkel, running seventh, stopped in the first turn. Shuey held his position on the restart, but by this time was being chased down by Green, Wayne Pfeil, Chuck Schutz and last week’s feature winner Ron Kline.
The lead never changed and it was Shuey in the winner’s circle once again. Chasing him across were Green, Pfeil, Schutz and Kline.
Kline and Fanelli won the heats.
Derrick Smith showed the way for six laps in the Sportsman feature before Ryan Higgs took over first on the seventh lap restart needed when Henn spun along the backstretch.
The lead changed once again on the eighth lap when Kline moved into the top spot.
Dicing for second through fifth were Higgs, Craig Whitmoyer, Brad Arnold and Steve Young.
Whitmoyer overtook second on the 14th lap and set sail after Kline, but at the same time he had to deal with Arnold. As these two diced for the position, it gave Kline some breathing room.
Kline never relinquished first and pulled into victory lane for his sixth career win followed by Whitmoyer, Arnold, Jordan Umbenhauer and Higgs.
Heat winners were Dylan Swinehart, last week’s feature winner, Ryan Beltz and Young. Brian Papiez was the consi winner.

DALE BLANEY FINDS $5,000 PAYOFF AND FIRST CAREER THUNDER ON THE HILL VICTORY THURSDAY NIGHT AT GRANDVIEW
BECHTELSVILLE, PA (August 18, 2016) – Hartford, OH’s Dale Blaney claimed his first Grandview Speedway win when Tony Stewart’s Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions 410 Sprint Car Series returned to the Grandview Speedway for the first time in sixteen years this past Thursday night for the NAPA Auto Parts Thunder on the Hill Racing Series. This event was presented by Pioneer Pole Buildings and represented the 123rd Thunder Series event since it started in 1990.
Blaney netted himself a cool $5,000 for his efforts in a thrilling 35 lap A-Main that included plenty of side-by-side racing action.

Lucas Wolfe, aboard the Zemco No. 1z car, bolted from the front row starting position with the pair of black-and-orange No. 1 machines of Dale Blaney and Sammy Swindell following close behind. Wolfe set a rapid pace from the get go – so rapid that the leaders hit lapped traffic at their fifth circuit around the one-third-mile track.
Blaney powered outside Wolfe as the two split lapped cars and swapped the lead just inching passed each other as the laps seven and eight clicked away. Blaney overtook the top spot on the 10th lap.
The first caution of the evening flew on the 11th circuit when Stevie Smith – running in the third position – clipped the lapped car of Kenny Jacobs sending both machines spinning. Smith was able to recover unscathed and unstopped, continuing after doing a complete 360-degree spin with the rest of the field dodging him.
Blaney charged away on the restart followed by Wolfe, Smith, and Swindell.
The action slowed for the second time on the 15th lap for Freddie Rahmer, with a right-rear flat tire while running within the top 10.
On the restart, Blaney raced away as Stevie Smith shot outside Wolfe claiming the second spot.
The red flag flew on lap 17 after the cars of Greg Hodnett, Danny Dietrich, and Kraig Kinser – all running just outside the top five – made contact on the front stretch sending all three machines upside-down. The drivers walked away unscathed.
Blaney dominated the restart with Smith right on his tail. Smith, the 2016 Thunder Cup Champion, took the lead on the 23rd lap, with Blaney claiming the top spot on the next go-around.
The two leaders hit lapped traffic with three laps remaining closing the battle for the top position and allowing a four-car battle for the victory with Stevie Smith, Sammy Swindell, and Ryan Smith all challenging for the $5,000 winner’s share.
Blaney would go on to claim the victory, Swindell moved inside Smith for the second position, The Leffler Energy No. 51s machine of Stevie Smith finished in third, followed by Ryan Smith in the Warko Group No.94 and Sheldon Haudenschild in the fifth position.
This marks Blaney’s seventh All Star Circuit of Champions win of the season, and his first Thunder on the Hill victory.
Blaney also claimed the $100 Quick Time Award. Heat Races were won by Lucas Wolfe, Ryan Smith and Sheldon Haudenschild. Wolfe grabbed the top spot in the Dash, and Tim Shaffer won the B-Main.

John Barnett claimed his first TSRS victory after starting on the front row of the 25-lap feature event. A multi-car incident brought out the red on the initial start retiring four cars – including that of current TSRS point leader, Mike Haggenbottom. Barnett took over on the restart holding off a hard charging Dave Brown and leading all of the 25-laps. Brown – who has won the past three TSRS feature events at Grandview – settled for second place, but certainly didn’t make it easy for Barnett. Tim Tanner Jr. came home in the third position, Tommy Carberry in fourth and Jon Haegele in the fifth spot.
The NAPA Auto Parts Thunder on the Racing Series returns to Grandview Speedway on Saturday, October 15 for the 2nd Annual Mods at the Madhouse event featuring the Big-Block and Small-Block Modifieds, Sportsman and TSRS Sprint Cars.

BECHTELSVILLE, PA (AUGUST 17, 2016) – Excitement builds as Tony Stewart’s Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions prepare to descend upon the third-mile bullring of Grandview Speedway in Bechtelsville, PA. NAPA Auto Parts Thunder on the Hill Racing Series brings the All Stars to the Berks County dirt track this Thursday, August 18, as the nationally touring 410 Sprint Car racing series battles the Pennsylvania Posse, with a $5,000 payday on the line. This popular event is being presented by Pioneer Pole Buildings.
A full program of 410 racing action including Time Trials, Qualifying Heat Races, a Dash to determine the A-Main starting order, and a 35-lap main event paying $5,000 to the winner, $1,000 to the 10th place finisher, and $500 to start rounds out the thrilling evening.
A quick time bonus of $100 will be awarded to the fastest competitor in Time Trials. 358/360 Sprint Car drivers are eligible to participate with $200 going to the highest finisher and $100 going to the second highest finisher.
Findlay, OH’s Chad Kemenah – the current series point leader and 4-time Series Champion -- will lead the All Stars into Grandview Speedway. Piloting the beautiful No. 10H machine, Kemenah proves to be consistent scoring 19 top-5 finishes in 30 races with just a single win throughout the 2016 season. Kemenah is a previous Thunder on the Hill Racing Series winner, claiming a victory in 1999.
Defending All Star series champion Dale Blaney sits second in the chase for the championship with six wins this season – more than any driver on the tour. Blaney is trailed by 22-year-old third generation driver Sheldon Haudenschild, aboard the No. 93 machine. Haudenschild has claimed five victories in 2016 in 26 feature events.
While the All Stars bring an elite group of drivers from the mid-west, a battalion of Central Pennsylvania’s top stars are prepared to defend their home turf – and when the greatest Sprint Car drivers in the world do battle it is sure to be unpredictable.
Thomasville, PA’s Greg Hodnett is a 9-time winner at Grandview Speedway – including a 410 Sprint Car victory earlier this season. Hodnett is an easy favorite heading into this Thursday’s event, having claimed five the past seven races on ‘the Hill.’
PA Posse fans can rest assured a strong contingent of drivers are defending the Commonwealth including previous All Star Winner Danny Dietrich, Ryan Smith and Brent Marks.
In their only Pennsylvania appearances, surprise entrants to this Thursday’s All Star event at Grandview include 20-time Outlaw Champion Steve Kinser aboard the No. 11, 3-time Outlaw Champion Sammy Swindell steering the CJB Motorsports No. 1 machine, and 4-time All Star Champion Kenny Jacobs piloting his son Lee Jacobs’ No. 81 machine.
The winged action doesn’t stop there as competitors from New Jersey and Pennsylvania’s 305 Sprint Car division – namely the Tri-State Racesaver Series – also take to Grandview Speedway. A fan-favorite among area race fans the TSRS Sprint Cars always put on a thrilling event on the third-mile. While many would pick 4-time Series Champion Mike Haggenbottom as a favorite heading into the 25-lap main event, it’s Aston, PA’s Dave Brown who has claimed the past three Grandview TSRS victories
Previous All Star winners at Grandview include Cris Eash (2000), Jeff Sheppard (1999), Fred Rahmer (1999), Billy Pauch (May 1998, August 1998), Donnie Kreitz (1997, 1986), Jimmy Horton (1982), and Steve Smith Sr. (1982).
The 410 Sprint Car competitors chase a $5,000 winner’s share for 35 laps of action on the famed 1/3 mile Grandview Speedway. The tenth position pays $1,000 with $500 to start the A-Main. A $100 Quick Time bonus is up for grabs, along with a $200 bonus to the first 360/358 Sprint Car and a $100 bonus to the second 360/358 Sprint Car.
Also on the card is the TSRS Sprint Car Series, competing in a 25 lap feature event.

BECHTELSVILLE, PA. August 14, 2016 . . . Current T.P.Trailers NASCAR 358 Modified point leader Craig VonDohren, the defending Pioneer Pole Building/Forrest Rogers Memorial race winner, gave himself a hefty birthday present when he scored the win in the 50-Lap NASCAR Whelen 358 Modified All-American Racing Series feature event Saturday night at Grandview Speedway. It was the seventh time he claimed victory in the event. VonDohren may have had a comfortable margin over runner-up Mike Gular, but his fourth feature win of the season didn’t come easy for the defending point champion, since he had to deal with heavy lapped traffic on numerous occasions. In addition to the $10,000 top prize he also pocketed $250 in bonus bucks from T.P. Trailers plus $150 in product contingency awards from VP Fuels for running gas along with the Dan’s Deli ½-way hoagie award. The racing activities were sponsored by Pioneer Pole Building and the 46th running of the event was in honor of race founder Forrest Rogers, the late father of current promoter and track owner Bruce Rogers.
Dylan Swinehart, a rookie this season in the Sportsman division and also a third generation of racing Swinehart’s – his grandfather Ray, uncle Steve and now himself, became the tenth different winner when he scored his first 25-lap NASCAR Sportsman feature career win by defeating Ryan Higgs. Swinehart also has another famous racing grandfather ‑ Dennis Bailey. Both Ray and Dennis were previous point champions. Throughout the season the youngster has endured so many obstacles and he finally was glad to get the monkey off his back. Last week he had failed to qualify for the race. He also picked up an additional $100 from T.P. Trailers and the ½-way Dan’s Deli hoagie award.
In BRC Late Model action Ron Kline overtook leader Brian Shuey on the 19th lap and went on to claim back to back feature wins in the 25-Lap race. T.P. Trailers also awarded him $100.
There have now been 24 different feature winners in the Saturday night NASCAR sanctioned events presented this season.
Tony Stewart’s All Star Circuit of Champions 410 Sprint racers will be in action on Thursday, August 18th at 7:30 p.m. and will feature some of the best Sprint car talents in the nation. The TSRS 305 Sprints will also be part of the Thunder on the Hill event.
Henning’s Trains of Lansdale will have some Lionel trains to give away to lucky youngsters on Saturday, August 20th. Racing will feature the NASCAR T.P.Trailers 358 Modifieds, BRC Late Models and Sportsman. Only three nights of point racing remain in the chase for the lucrative track and NASCAR championships.
Bobby Gunther-Walsh led the first lap of the Modified feature before the red was thrown on the second lap when Tyler Dippel found himself in the backstretch wall with heavy impact. He was shaken up a bit, but walked to the ambulance under his own power. It was still Gunther-Walsh in command on the restart with pressure coming from Brett Kressley, Nate Christman, Ray Swinehart and Justin Grim.
Kressley put the Norm Hansell-owned No. 357 into the lead on the 11th lap restart needed for a multi-car fourth turn tangle. By this time VonDohren, who started 14th, had piloted the PPB/Keith Harring Transportation No. 1C mount to second to challenge the Modified rookie.
By the 18th lap the front five consisting of Kressley, VonDohren, Christman, Mike Gular and Kyle Weiss encountered the back markers that were also racing for positions and did heed the move over flag.
VonDohren used the lap cars to his advantage and took over first on the 19th lap, but one lap later Kressley was back in front as the pair swapped the lead back and forth.
Lap 21 VonDohren moved ahead once again and immediately opened up daylight leaving Kressley, Christman, Gular and Weiss giving chase.
With ten laps to go debris in the first turn brought out the final yellow. VonDohren was still in command when action resumed, but Gular quickly motored past Christman and Kressley and was now second in pursuit of the leader.
It looked like VonDohren was on a rail as the laps wound down and he raced to his 99th career win. Chasing him across the finish line were Gular, Kressley, Ray Swinehart and Jeff Strunk. Rounding out the top ten were Christman, Jared Umbenhauer, Kenny Gilmore, Duane Howard and Weiss.
2014 race winner Dr. Danny Johnson, a New York standout racing talent, made a rare appearance, but could only muster a 14th-place finish.
Justin Grim, Gunther-Walsh and R. Swinehart won the heats with Mike Kellner winning the consi.
Sportsman action saw rookie Ken Bock show the way for two laps before Steve Young forged ahead.
The lead changed for the third time on lap six when young Swinehart took the lead.
Behind Swinehart, Young and Derrick Smith, Ryan Higgs and Andrew Kreis, all rookies, diced for second through fifth.
Smith overtook second on the ninth circuit and set his signs on Swinehart.
The front runners soon encountered lapped traffic which they had to use hands-up driving tactics.
Brad Arnold brought out the only yellow with three laps to go when he stopped in the third turn. Before the restart, Smith, who was running second since lap nine, pitted after he made contact with the wall earlier and suffered damage. This put Higgs, Craig Whitmoyer, Young and Kreis, nose-to-tail, but Swinehart wasted no time staying ahead.
Swinehart kept all challengers at bay and went on to claim a well-deserved triumph followed by Higgs, Whitmoyer, Jim Housworth and Young.
Heats were won by Kreis, Bock and Young. The consi went to Brandon Whitmoyer.
Devin Frey took the early lead in the Late Model feature before Shawn Horning slowed along the homestretch. Rain was soon approaching, but not falling on the track and as the cars restarted and headed into turns one and two, a heavy downpour broke loose with Frey and a few others to hit the wall. Eliminated were Frey, Drew Weisser, Lou Egrie and Sean Merkel. As quick as the rain started, it stopped. Since so many cars were damaged, management decided to run the modified and sportsman consolation races, then their features and conclude with the remainder of the Late Model feature allowing them time to repair their cars.
When the race resumed, four-time feature winner and two-time point champion Brian Shuey was the race leader followed by Wayne Pfeil, Kline, Corey Merkel and Chuck Schutz.
Pfeil and Kline battled several laps before Kline advanced to second, but Pfeil didn’t give up easily and challenged him. This gave Shuey some breathing room.
Once Kline broke free of Pfeil he reeled Shuey in and passed him on the 19th lap.
Once in front Kline never relinquished first and went on to chalk up his 35th career win followed by Shuey, Pfeil, C. Merkel and current point leader and defending champion Schutz.
Frey and Egrie won the heats.

BECHTELSVILLE, PA (AUGUST 10, 2016) – It’s been 20 years since Sammy Swindell – one of the most recognized names in American motorsports history – claimed a checkered flag at Grandview Speedway. That could all change on Thursday, August 18 when the NAPA Auto Parts Thunder on the Hill Racing Series brings Tony Stewart’s Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions 410 Sprint Car touring series to the Berks County dirt track. This big night of racing is brought to you by Pioneer Pole Buildings.
The year is 1996, the car sitting in Victory Lane is a familiar light blue machine emblazoned with a number one, and the man holding the checkered flag is the heart-and-soul of Germantown, TN -- Sammy Swindell. Swindell, a three-time Outlaw Champion and a five-time winner of the prominent Chili Bowl Midget event, has claimed two 410 Sprint Car victories this season at the famed Knoxville Raceway.
Victory will be no easy task for the 60-year-old racer. Along with the Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champion mainstays like Chad Kemenah, Dale Blaney, Sheldon Haudenschild, Cap Henry and Danny Holtgraver; the stars of the Pennsylvania Posse: Greg Hodnett, Stevie Smith, Danny Dietrich, Brent Marks, Lucas Wolfe and Ryan Smith will all be in attendance.
Also among the entrants is 20-time Outlaw Series Champion, four-time Thunder on the Hill Racer Series winner and National Sprint Car Hall of Fame driver ‘The King’ Steve Kinser – making his only Pennsylvania racing appearance in two full years!

About the Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions:
All Star Enterprises, LLC, wholly owned by Tony Stewart, d/b/a the All Star Circuit of Champions, is a winged sprint car series. The All-Star Circuit of Champions Sprint Car Series is one of the oldest traveling 410 sprint car organizations and is a staple of grassroots, open-wheel racing. Formed in 1970 by Bud Miller, the series has largely been considered the first 'outlaw' Sprint Car organization of the modern era. After a 10 year stint as owner of the All Stars, Miller passed control of the series to Bert Emick in 1980; a reign that would continue through 2002. Guy Webb then purchased the series from Emick in the summer of 2002 and served as the series President for the next 12 years. Motorsports entrepreneur Tony Stewart agreed to terms with Guy Webb to become the sole owner of the original winged sprint car tour in January of 2015.

JEFF STRUNK, RON KLINE AND BRIAN PAPIEZ TOOK HOME THE BIG BUCKS AS NASCAR FEATURE WINNERS ON SATURDAY NIGHT AT GRANDVIEW SPEEDWAY
BECHTELSVILLE, PA. August 7, 2016 – After three separate showers went through the Grandview Speedway grounds late Saturday afternoon racing was delayed for an hour until the track was race ready for an action-packed night of three division NASCAR stock car racing in the activities sponsored by Bernheisel Race Cars.
The last time the Modifieds were in action, Jeff Strunk finished third, but was disqualified due to an illegal carburetor placing him last. He redeemed himself Saturday night when a restart work3ed to his advantage, he moved into second and became the new leader on lap 24. The ten-time champion went on to score his second 30-Lap T.P. Trailers NASCAR 358 Modified All-American Racing Series feature of the season. Strunk also received $250 from T.P. Trailers and $150 worth of product from VP Racing Fuels provided he was carrying the proper decals.
Ron Kline was contacted by Junior Grebe and Wanda Brown on Thursday to see if he wanted to take over the Late Model ride normally driven by Dave Ogin. He accepted the offer, relettered the car to his familiar No. 3 and was back in action for the BRC Late Model feature. He led all 30 laps of the event and finished by a considerable margin over runner-up Bryon Sipe. Kline had not been in the winner’s circle since June 7, 2014. He also picked up an additional $100 from T.P. Trailers.
Rookie racer Brian Papiez collected his third 25-lap NASCAR Sportsman feature after a close battle with second-place finisher Brett Gilmore. His efforts earned him $100 from T.P. Trailers.
Coming up on Saturday, August 13th is one of the biggest and most prestigious events of the season for the T.P.Trailers NASCAR 358 Modifieds when the annual Pioneer Pole Buildings Forrest Rogers Memorial is presented. The 50-lap race for the Modifieds offers $10,000 and often attract some outsiders to test their skills against the outstanding talents that regularly race at Grandview Speedway. In addition there will be racing for the BRC Late Models and Sportsman stock cars. Adult admission is $25 for this special race that honors the memory of the founder of the Bechtelsville auto racing facility.
In the Modified feature Eric Biehn led for two laps before Ron Haring Jr. became the new pacesetter on the third circuit.
Behind Haring Jr. jockeying for positions were Kevin Hirthler, Biehn, Danny Erb and Duane Howard, who returned to the oval most likely to fine tune the car for the Forrest Rogers Memorial on Saturday.
Biehn’s third place run ended when he stopped on the backstretch out of contention bring out the yellow with eight laps completed. On the restart Howard, who advanced to third on the sixth lap, made a daring move to the inside of Hirthler and Haring Jr. heading into turn one and emerged as the new leader.
While Howard showed the way Hirthler, Mike Gular, Erb and Craig Von Dohren raced nose to tail, then side by side trying to gain on Howard. It didn’t take Strunk long to get into the mix as he was fifth on lap 20.
The red was thrown on the 22nd lap when Nate Christman and Bobby Gunther-Walsh tangled on the backstretch which blocked the track. Christman was able to return to racing, but Gunther-Walsh was unable to rejoin the action. On the restart Hirthler and Strunk got the jump on Howard as they were one and two with Howard third.
The lead changed for the fifth time when Strunk put a move on Hirthler and succeeded in putting the Glenn Hyneman-owned mount in first on the 24th lap. Strunk stayed there until the drop of the checkered to rack up his 64th Saturday night career win. Following him across were Hirthler, VonDohren, Howard and Gular.
Heats were won by Biehn, Haring Jr. and Chris Esposito while Doug Manmiller was the consi winner.
Kline wasted no time staying in front from his pole starting position in the BRC Late Model feature while Drew Weiser, Bryon Sipe, Dan Green and Steve Todorow diced for positions.
While in second Weiser spun in turn four bringing out the yellow on the fifth lap. On the next attempt the red was thrown when rookie Eric Hoch hit the backstretch wall with heavy impact. He was shaken up a bit and taken to the hospital for observation. Kline held his position on the restart while Sipe, Green, Sean Merkel and Chuck Schutz dueled for second through fifth.
It didn’t take Kline long to outdistance himself from the field as he went on to win his first feature of the season. Positions were constantly changing and chasing him across the line were Sipe, Sean Merkel, who recently returned to the racing wars, Schutz and Brian Shuey.
Shuey and Kline were the heat winners.
In Sportsman action Steve Young led the event for eight laps before Papiez moved to the head of the pack.
Ryan Higgs, another rookie, overtook second on the 14th lap and began to reel Papiez in.
Mechanical problems ended Higgs’ fine second-place run when he stopped along the backstretch with five laps to go. Papiez was still the leader, but now Brett Gilmore, who started 21st, was pressuring him for first as the laps wound down. Gilmore made several runs on the inside to try to get past Papiez, but to no avail.
Papiez never relinquished first and was in the winner’s circle once again trailed by Gilmore, Craig Whitmoyer, Dean Bachman and Brad Arnold.
Higgs, Young and Jesse Landis won the heats. The consi went to Brian Hirthler.
