The always unpredictable weather pattern in the Northeast has kept the speedway promoters on their toes with mops in hand for the early part of the 2018 racing season. Accord Speedway Promoters Gary and Donna Palmer have witnessed the highs and the lows of the crazy weather for the past 18 years and have weathered those storms and gales to produce some of the most highly-spirited racing action in the Northeast. Friday found the the rare occasion when the threat of a storm wasn't present in the area and the racers put on a great show last night at the speedway. The favorable weather brought out the largest crowd of the season to enjoy a great night of entertainment. Arkel Motors was the headline sponsor for the evening of speed.(www.arkelmotors.com)
Hard working Accord promoter Gary Palmer continues to work overtime to give his driving roster the best possible racing facility he can and the race to the walls speed channels were a true testament to his dedication to his craft as the speedway offered many racing seams for the drivers to display their speed and guile.
The exciting seven feature race card found "Jammin" Jimmy Wells returning to the WRWD Radio Victory Lane for the first time in 2018 in the Insinger Fuels Modified division. "The Big D" Danny Morgiewicz scored his first ever win at Accord in the Arkel Motors Sportsman division finale. Travis Brockner was fast and then some as he top-sided his way to victory in the Upstate Auto Pure Stock Division feature event. Bob Tersillo was lightning fast as he grabbed up his third win of the season in the WRWD Radio NEWS Sprint Cars. Charles Loiodice captured the WRWD Radio Rookie Sportsman feature event. Jeff DeGroat captured the pair of Emmanuels Marketplace Fireball 4-Cylinder events held at the speedway.
Brad Rothaupt and Ray See Jr brought the Insinger Fuels Modified starting field to the line for the start of the 30-lap main grind. Rothaupt would lead the first lap before sixth starting Jimmy Wells put his Upstate Auto Wagon at the top of the staircase and assumed control of the lead. Wells, to put it bluntly, was on his own set of rails as he stretched his lead with every lap. Uncle Mike Ricci shot between a couple of cars to take over second and Anthony Perrego broke free to fall in behind Ricci. By the halfway point
Wells enjoyed more than a straightaway lead and then began to hit traffic.
Ricci closed the gap to within six car lengths with Perrego in tow. This night, however, belonged to Wells as he crossed under the checkered flag with room to spare and with it his first win of the season. Mike Ricci was a strong runner-up just nipping Anthony Perrego who finished third. Danny Creeden came on strong from eleventh to finish fourth and Tommy Johnson ran an exceptional event to claim fifth. Brad Rothaupt headed up the second five with Danny Tyler, Richard Smith, Ed Dachenhausen and Eddie Burgess completing the top ten.
The Arkel Motors Sportsman event was a true to life barnburner as a fast field of race cars highlighted another great event. It would be the youngster Ryan McCartney jumping into the lead at the start and he would lead through the first six laps. Danny Morgiewicz took over the lead on a restart on lap seven and a couple of laps later reigning track champion Kyle Rohner would begin an all out assault for the top spot. Lap after lap the duo battled it out with Morgiewicz controlling the top line and Rohner digging for all he was worth from the baseline. Rohner would pull even at times but Morgiewicz had that little extra to hold off Rohner. The event became an immediate classic as two talented drivers duked it out for the win. Morgiewicz would not be denied as he edged Rohner for his first ever win at Accord. Rohner was second with Nick Plumstead third, Matt Shultz fourth and Jamie Yannone completing the top five. Tyler Johnston headed up the second five with Hunter Lapp, Leo Fotopolous, Ryan McCartney and Chris VanDuser completing the top ten.
"The Travelin Man" Mick D'Agostino jumped out front in the WRWD Radio NEWS Sprint Car division twenty lap main and the rookie sprint driver appeared headed to victory. On lap-18 D'Agostino slid up over the cushion and allowed Bobby Tersillo and Eric Jennings to get by. Tersillo would lead the final two laps to claim his third straight win for the season. Jennings was second with the disappointed D'Agostino third Jordan Lawrence fourth and the returning Don Smith fifth. Dan Malley and Mark Conolly followed.
The Upstate Auto Pure Stock main event began with Travis Brockner grabbing the lead at the start with Ray Tarantino sliding into second and it set-up another great feature attraction. Brockner was fast on the top of the raceway and Tarantino kept hounding him lap after lap for the top spot. Brockner never waivered as he led all of the way to claim his first feature win of the season. Tarantino was the runner-up with Livy Johnson giving her Tom's Repair Shop hot rod a good work out with a third place run. Steve Williams and John Hechinger completed the top five. Steady Jay Smalley, opening night winner Emerson Cargain Jr, Chris Kanuk, newcomer Amber VanOrden and Bob Sleight completed the top ten.
The WRWD Radio Rookie Sportsman feature became a shortened event at fourteen laps due to time restraints but the racing was good throughout. Cole Stangle led the first lap and then gave way to Jared Miller. Miller would lead through lap seven when Stangle regained control of the lead. Slower traffic found the leaders trying to figure out the best way around them but Charles Loiodice found the upper reaches of the speedway open and he placed his car there and came out of turn four as the race leader. A caution on lap fourteen ended the event with Loiodice winning his first ever at the speedway with Stangle in the runner-up role and Travis Green finishing third. Jeff Higham and Joe Coppola completed the top five. Newcomer Jason Armstrong, Mike Travis, Jared Miller, Amanda Carson and Jamie Doolan finished up the top ten.
The Fireball 4-Cylinders first event was the held over event from a week ago. Willie DeGraw led the first two laps before yielding to Jeff DeGroat. DeGroat raced through the field with ease and won over Richard Smith, DeGraw, Ken Barringer and Anthony Tarantino.
The second event for the Fireballers found pretty much the same scenario as this time it would be Gary Quick leading the first two laps before DeGroat took over. DeGroat would go on to his win of the evening with Jerry Kingeter second, while Richard Smith, Ryan Heady and Gary Quick completed the top five.
Gemstones:
Heat winners for the evening included Andrew Davis and Bobby Tersillo in the Sprint heats. Travis Brockner and Ray Tarantino scored wins in the Pure Stock division. The Sportsman ranks found Harry Baldwin, Nick Plumstead and Hunter Lapp scoring victories. Enjoying wins in the Modified heats were Brad Rothaupt, Joe Judge and Tommy Johnson. Rookie heats went to Cole Stangle, Charles Loiodice and Travis Green Two heats were needed for the Fireballers and Jerry Kingeter and Jeff DeGroat were the winners.
New cars on hand included Kurt Hundeland, Jessie Marks and Mark Pullen in the Modifieds. Collin DuBois and Mike Murphy made their first starts of the season in the Sportsman. Don Smith and Rich Mellor were nice additions to the Sprint Car Ranks. Johnny Miracle, Curt Ayers and James Goetchius were first timers in the Pure Stocks. Jason Armstrong, Jamie Doolan, Keith Johannesen and Billy Fiske new new additions to the Rookies.
Bob Sleight and Steve Williams traded cars for the evening.
A tip of the fedora to Promoter Gary Palmer for having the speedway groomed to perfection for the evening of speed. The track was racy from top to bottom and three and four wide racing were commonplace
throughout the night.
Grandma Anne's fresh pies made it back to victory lane as all winners received some goodness for their quest for victory lane.

JTEE'S SIGNS ON TO BE MAY MODIFIED MADNESS TITLE SPONSOR AT NEW EGYPT SPEEDWAY
New Egypt, NJ (May 9, 2018) - The May Modified Madness Series is happy to

Danny Bouc picked up the Round of 24 this past Saturday at New Egypt
Speedway to guarantee himself a shot at the May Modified Madness
Championship, which will conclude on Saturday May 26 during the Salute to
our Veterans 40, held at the Ocean County speed plant. There will be more to
come in the coming days concerning the series.
The May Modified Madness Series is a unique bracket-type series where
drivers compete in a race within a race throughout the four Modified races
at New Egypt Speedway during the month of May culminating with the May
Modified Madness Finale on Saturday May 26th.

MOMS TO BE HONORED WITH CONE RACES AT WALL SATURDAY

WALL TOWNSHIP, N.J. ~ Mothers will be in the spotlight at Wall Stadium Speedway this Saturday (May 12) evening as moms who enter the grandstand area will be rewarded with a discount admission price of just $15 and a free flowering plant courtesy of John Gasko and Son Farm and Greenhouses in Monroe while supplies. All of the fans who attend the evening’s events will be rewarded with high-speed All American Auto Group Racing Series action from four racing divisions in “cone races” on the high-banked third mile paved oval.
Grandstand seating will open this Saturday at 5:00 p.m., qualifying is set for 5:45 p.m. and main event racing will follow at 7:00 p.m.
The Pete and Elda's Bar/Carmen's Pizzeria Modified 40-lap “cone race” main event on the night is important in the race for the season-long driving title. Three-time winner Jimmy Blewett of Howell has looked strong in early season action as has two-time champ Steven Reed of Jackson, Eric Mauriello of Howell and Andrew Krause of Holmdel.
Also on the card will be 25-lap “cone races” for the Mike's Performance Center Limited Late Models, the Green Flag Driving Experience Legend Cars and the O’Shea’s Auto Repair Factory Stocks. The restored cars of the Garden State Vintage Stock Car Club will also be on hand.
In a “Cone Race” a traffic cone is placed on the backstretch at the one-to-go sign for a restart. Any driver can choose to go inside the cone or outside the cone. If the first four drivers choose the inside, for example, the fifth place driver can choose the outside and move up to the front row. Does a driver take the preferred inside groove and restart further back on the inside, or does he or she choose the shorter line of cars on the outside and hope he or she can make it stick? That’s the issue each driver will face on each restart.
Pit gates will open at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday; with practice starting at 3:00 p.m. Grandstands will open at 5:00 p.m., qualifying is then set for 5:45 p.m. with main events for all divisions to follow.
Wall Stadium presents professional motorsports events on Saturdays and Sundays through early October with special post-season races in October and November. The speedway is located on Route 34 in Wall Township, N.J., just one mile north of Garden State Parkway exit 98 and Interstate 195 exit 35B. PAUCH TRIUMPHS FOR 60TH CAREER VICTORY AT BRIDGEPORT SPEEDWAY
After struggling through a winless season last year, Billy Pauch rallied the troops and raced to victory in the twenty-five lap Spirit Auto Center Big Block Modified feature at the Bridgeport Speedway on Saturday night.
It was an emotional win for Pauch who has accumulated more than seven hundred victories throughout his career. A wreck during a heat race in Friday night competition left Pauch's K&A Excavating No. 1 questionable for a Saturday night race. "We really wadded it up last night," the winner explained. "We even had my grandson hammering on the car. Everybody worked so hard..." Pauch credited his family, including his two year old grandson, and crew for their hard work in preparing the winning car.
Richie Pratt, Jr. took lead at the wave of the green and immediately began to distance himself from the field but multiple cautions kept the competition close. Pratt led through the first six laps before Pauch raced into the lead on lap seven. After starting twelfth, Ryan Watt raced into third on lap nine and then took over second with a pass by Neal Williams just before the half way mark. Watt was closing on the leader before a lap fourteen caution set up a restart, putting Pauch and Watt side by side.
Pauch and Watt raced side by side on lap fifteen before the caution waved again. Pauch raced to the green ahead of the field and was able to pull away as the next ten laps remained under green. Pauch led Watt to the finish line to capture the 60th Bridgeport win of career. Watt fell one spot short of setting a new Bridgeport record for six consecutive wins on the 5/8th mile track. The record stands at five and is shared by Watt, Kenny Brightbill and Wade Hendrickson. Williams finished third with Jim Britt racing to fourth after starting eleventh. Pratt rounded out the top five at the checkered.
Brad Roberts led every lap of the twenty lap Stewart Stainless 602 Crate Sportsman feature event for his first Bridgeport win of the season. Roberts is racing a throwback number and paint scheme to honor his grandfather, Ron Roberts this season, racing the Bailey's Paving No. 123, just as his grandfather did some twenty seasons ago. It was Roberts first win since the 2016 season.
Eric Kormann trailed Roberts to the checkered with Tom Moore taking over third late in the race. Jeremy Harrington finished fourth with Bobby Bracall crossing the line in fifth.
Jeramy Doerr raced to his second win of the season in the Pennco Tech Outlaw Stock feature. Doerr took the lead from Andrew Joslin on the first lap and never looked back. 2017 Outlaw Champion, Tom Wills, Jr. finished second with Brian Ludwig racing into third in the closing laps. Mike Creamer held off Lee Allen for fourth as they raced to the checkered.
Dave Hartman led every lap of the caution free DA's Auto Body & Repair Rookie feature but it was Sammy Martz Jr. who captured his first feature win with a pass by Hartman as the leaders raced out of turn four on the final lap. Martz started deep in the field. Hartman had a sizable lead by the time that Martz made his way past Parker Guildin to take over second. The third generation racer, Martz took the victory over Hartman with Guldin finishing third.
Racing action returns to the Design for Vision/Sunglass Central 3/8 mile track at Bridgeport next Sunday for the final race of the Pre-Season Points. The Big Block Modifieds, 602 Crate Sportsman, Outlaw Stocks and Rookies will be in action with racing getting underway at6pm.

NAPA AUTO PARTS OPENS THUNDER SERIES 2018 AT GRANDVIEW SPEEDWAY SUNDAY, MAY 27, $5,000 TO WIN MODIFIED TRAFFIC JAM ON TAP PLUS SPORTSMAN & SPRINT CARS
BECHTELSVILLE, PA (May 6, 2018) – Barbecues, burgers, and Big-Block vs Small-Block Modifieds highlight an exciting Memorial Day holiday weekend for Grandview Speedway race fans; with the NAPA Auto Parts Thunder on the Hill Racing Series opening its season on Sunday, May 27 with the 21st Annual Pioneer Pole Buildings TRAFFIC JAM.
With a 7:30 PM start time, the Thunder Series kick-off show includes three exciting racing divisions competing on the Berks County dirt track – with a 40-lap, $5,000-to-win, $500 to start Modified main event, a $1,300-to-win Sportsman showdown, and the MASS Sprint Car Series.
While the winner takes home the largest portion of the lucrative TRAFFIC JAM , a generous payout is available to all competitors. $1,000 will go to the 10th place finisher, and $500 to start the 40 lap feature event.
The Pioneer Pole Buildings 21st running of the TRAFFIC JAM will continue with plenty of prior prestige. Previous Traffic JAM winners include Brett Hearn a four-time winner and the inaugural victor in 1998. Other TRAFFIC JAM winners include Matt Sheppard, Jimmy Horton, Tim McCreadie, Craig VonDohren, Jeff Strunk, Alan Johnson, Frank Cozze, Rick Laubach, Danny Johnson, Tim Fuller and the youngest Traffic Jam winner, 25-year-old Brett Kressley of Orefield, PA, the 2017 defending winner of this event. Kressley would like nothing more then to make it a back-to-back victory.
There is no entry fee and no track/series license required to compete in this event. A special rules package was created to accommodate all area competitors. Both American Racer and Hoosier tires will be allowed for competition, and Big-Block or Spec Small-Block engines are permitted.

Along with the Modifieds, the Sportsman will be in action competing in a 25-lap event with $1,300 going the winner. A similar relaxed rule package is available to the Sportsman teams and, as per Grandview Sportsman rules, sail panels will be allowed during this event.
The sprint cars round out this Triple Thunder Thriller with the MASS Sprint Car series participating in qualifying events and a 25-lap feature event.
The Pioneer Pole Buildings Mobile Sales Unit will be on display in the mid-way along with all of the Thunder on the Hill Racing Series mainstay promotions including the Low Down & Dirty Radio Show pre-race Meet and Greet, pit area tours, the Inside/Out Experience – where fans can watch hot laps from the infield, Joe ‘The Pizza Dude’ offering up free pizzas to the rowdiest fans, give-a-ways, and appearances by Miss Thunder on the Hill.
Helping to celebrate the Memorial Day Weekend will be a special fireworks display before the start of the main event.
Spectator gates will open at 5 PM, with racing action set for 7:30 PM. Adult General Admission is $25, Children 6-11 are $10, and Children 5 and Under are Free of Charge. Pit Area pricing is $35, and a license is not required.
Race fans interested in early admission can take part in our Advance Ticket Reserve. Advance tickets are available by calling 443-513-4456. You can leave a message with your name, contact number, and the number of tickets you’re requesting. Tickets may be picked up and paid for at the Grandview Speedway will call window on race night after 4:00 PM. Advance ticket holders are eligible to enter the grandstands at 4:30 PM a full half-hour before General Admission tickets go on sale.

KRESSLEY, ARNOLD AND TODOROW WIN FEATURES AND BEAT MA NATURE AT GRANDVIEW SATURDAY
BECHTELSVILLE, PA. May 6, 2018 . . . Racing action on Saturday night at Grandview Speedway was interrupted by a few rain delays, but track crew and management dealt with the situation and through the cooperation of all drivers and everyone involved, a complete show was presented and Ma Nature was defeated.
Brett “The Threat” Kressley, who captured his last win at the 1/3-mile oval on September 9, 2017, jumped into the lead on the 17th lap restart and withstood runner-up Jeff Strunk’s challenges to post his first win of the season in the 30-lap T.P. Trailers NASCAR 358 Modified feature.
In the 25-lap Sportsman feature Brad Arnold inherited the lead when leader Dylan Swinehart was put back two positions prior to the fifth lap restart for aggressive driving. Arnold, who suffered a blown engine in warmups back on April 21 and couldn’t compete in the events, went on to hold off the bids of fast approaching Craig Whitmoyer for his first win of the year. Arnold last stood in the winner’s circle on June 25, 2016.
Steve Todorow scored his second career victory by taking hoe the checkered in the 25-lap Late Model feature. His last win was September 3, 2016.
All three feature winners received monetary awards courtesy of T.P. Trailers and VP Racing Fuels presented merchandise bonuses if any of the winners used their products. In order to receive the items the winners had to meet the necessary requirements. The Dan’s Deli half-way hoagie awards went to Brett Gilmore, Modified; Brad Arnold, Sportsman and Steve Todorow, Late Model.
All three feature winners along with another star studded field of Modifieds, Sportsman and Late Models will return to action on Saturday night at 7:30 p.m.
Brett Gilmore outgunned polesitter Dan Waisempacher for the early lead in the Modified main event trailed by Joe Fanelli, Mike Kellner and Ray Swinehart.
Ray Swinehart brought out the first caution on the seventh lap when he broke in the fourth turn. Doug Manmiller, who had nowhere to go, spun to avoid contact. It was still B. Gilmore showing the way when action resumed being chased by Waisempacher, Kressley, Fanelli and Strunk.
Kressley advanced to second to put his bids in for the top spot on the 11th lap restart needed when Duane Howard stopped in the fourth turn with a flat tire.
The red was thrown on lap 17 after Waisempacher, who was falling back positions as the race progressed, rode the first turn outside wall on his roof. He was uninjured. On the next attempt Kressley got a run on B. Gilmore coming off the third turn to take over first. Gilmore, trying to regain first, spun in the second turn in front of the others to regroup the field and void the restart.
Once again the restart had to be called back when a multi-car accident blocked turns one and two. Finally action resumed with Kressley at the head of the pack, but by this time Strunk, Kellner, Ryan Grim and Craig VonDohren completed the top five.
It seemed like every time Strunk had momentum going and was reeling Kressley in the yellow came out. This time it was when Kyle Weiss spun along the front chute on lap 19. Kressley wasted no time keeping Strunk at bay on the restart.
Everyone got another opportunity to overtake Kressley with five laps to go after another flat tire caused Howard to stop in turn four. Kressley was determined to keep the competition behind him and that’s what he did until the checkered fell on his third career win. Chasing him across the line were Strunk, Grim, VonDohren and Mike Gular, who started deep in the pack in the 24th spot after qualifying through the consi.
Ray Swinehart, VonDohren, B. Gilmore and Kressley were the heat winners. Consi winners were Tim Buckwalter and Jared Umbenhauer, who later scratched out of the feature before it started.
Nathan Mohr set the pace for two laps in the Sportsman feature before Louden Reimert stopped in turn three for the third lap caution. On the restart Swinehart made his way to the front from third and Mohr fell to third since Arnold followed through for second at the same time.
A fourth turn tangle on lap five that involved Mark Kemmerer, Nathan Brinker and Reimert caused another yellow. Before action resumed officials placed Swinehart back two spots for an earlier incident.
This turn of events relined the pack with Arnold the new leader followed by Mohr, Swinehart and Jack Butler.
Behind Arnold the battle for second brewed between Butler and Craig Whitmoyer. This allowed Arnold to build up a comfortable lead.
After a heated dual, Whitmoyer finally cleared Butler and took chase after Arnold.
No one could reel Arnold in to pressure him and he scored his third career win. Finishing second was Whitmoyer followed by Butler, Brad Brightbill and Brad Grim.
Heats were won by Butler, Ryan Beltz and Arnold. Mike Lisowski won the consi.
In the 25-lap Late Model feature Drew Weisser took the early lead and set the pace for seven laps until he went too high coming off the fourth turn an before he regained control, Todorow and Wayne Pfeil got past him for first and second respectively.
Behind Todorow and Pfeil, Weisser, Danny Snyder and Lou Egrie diced for positions.
Pfeil challenged Todorow on occasion, but Todorow always pulled away.
Once Todorow took control he never looked back and he was able to chalk up his second career win trailed by Pfeil, Snyder, Egrie and Chuck Schutz.
