INGRAHAM TAKES WALL STADIUM LADIES’ NIGHT MODIFIED WIN

WALL TOWNSHIP, N.J. September 17, 2016 - Shawna Ingraham was flying Saturday night and appropriately won the Downs Ford Modified stock car 40-lap main event during “Ladies’ Night” competition at Wall Stadium Speedway. It was the Brick resident’s second win of the season and the third Modified triumph of her career. She remains the only female to win in Modified competition since the speedway opened in 1950.

Ingraham wrestled Shaun Carrig of Little Falls at the opening green flag of the event before stretching a lead through the first 18 laps of the race. Four-time champion Chas Okerson of Freehold then challenged her on a restart and remained within striking distance before Anthony Sesely of Matawan advanced to second with ten laps remaining. Sesely tried to race into the lead on a restart but drifted high in turn two with point leader Steven Reed of Jackson and Okerson getting by for second and third.

Okerson was then able to get by Reed for second and chased Ingraham to the finish line. Sesely and Andrew Krause of Holmdel, who was forced to pit to change a flat tire earlier in the race, wrapped up the top five.

“I felt I couldn’t do the same thing on every restart so I tried to mix it up to keep them off guard,” Ingraham said of her restart strategy. “The car was very fast tonight and was handling well. That allowed me to change things up and stay out front.”

Howell’s Jimmy Blewett came from deep in the 19-car field to win the companion 30-lapper for the Snap On Sportsman cars. Dom Fattarusso of Brick led the first 17 laps before he and Blake Barney of Jackson touched on the front stretch with Barney taking the lead. Blewett was soon second and took over the lead with a diving pass in turn two on the 25th lap.

Blewett then fought off Tyler Truex of Mayetta on a late race restart before taking the win. Barney, Fattarusso and point leader Kevin Davison of Howell completed the top five.

The Green Flag Driving Experience Legend Cars battled in a pair of 25-lappers with “invaders” taking a win in each. In the first race Mike Alcaro of West Milford was tops over a top five of Joe McGrath of Middletown, Howell’s Robert French and Richie Davidowitz and Kevin Nowak, both of Medford, N.Y.

Davidowitz came back to win the nightcap while Nowak, Alcaro, French and point leader Louie Keraitis of Toms River wrapped up the top five.

Jerry Stanzione of Keansburg took the lead on lap 17 and went on to win a non-stop 25 lapper for the O’Shea’s Auto Repair Factory Stocks. Eatontown’s Ron Booth was providing the pressure in the closing laps with point leader Joe Mongeau of Brick, early leader Tim O’Shea of Wall and Manchester’s Scott Riggleman rounding out the top five.

Shanon Mongeau of Manchester hitched a ride in the Cole Ormsbee No. 19 and came from behind to win the Elite Maintenance Limited Late Model 25-lapper. Early leader Brian Doyle of Ronkonkoma, N.Y., Freehold’s Howie Conk, Bill Vanderveen of Beachwood and Bayville’s Mike Tillett were second through fifth.

Geoffrey Sutton of Easton, Pa. won the 25-lapper for the visiting TQ Midgets while Gabrielle Olender of Sayreville won her first ever race for the Sunday Series Champ Karts.

Stock car racing continues this Saturday night (Sept. 24) with “Fan Appreciation Night” action which features a late afternoon “On Track Party” where fans are welcome to walk the speedway, check out all the racecars and visit with the drivers starting at 4:30 p.m. In competition will be the Modifieds in a 40-lapper, the Sportsman cars in a 30-lapper and the Factory Stocks, Legend Cars, Limited Late Models and the Surfside Collision 4 Cylinder Stocks all racing in 25-lappers. Grandstand seating opens one hour earlier at 4:00 p.m. with a $3 adult ticket discount from 4:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. Qualifying starts at 5:45 p.m. and feature racing begins at 7:00 p.m.

The complete updated regular season schedule, which runs on Saturday nights through October 1, is available at wallspeedwayracing.com as are the rules and regulations for all divisions. Post-season events, the “Spooky Spectacular” on October 15 and the Thanksgiving weekend “Turkey Derby,” are also being planned.

PAUCH, JR. POWERS TO A WIN AT NEW EGYPT SPEEDWAY’S ALL STAR EVENT

New Egypt, NJ (September 18, 2016) – At New Egypt Speedway’s fourth annual All Star Cup event, Billy Pauch, Jr. powered to the win in the 358 Modified feature. Ryan Godown was the victor in the main event for the Burlington County Overhead Door NEWS Sprints. Jim Housworth topped the field in the Sportsman feature. The Crate Modified feature was won by Matt Stangle.

As the 50-lap Modified feature got underway, polesitter Jeff Strunk grabbed the lead with Billy Pauch, Jr. in second. After a side-by-side battle, Pauch, Jr. slipped by Strunk to gain the top running spot on the fifth lap. With ten circuits recorded, Pauch, Jr, had developed a comfortable lead with Strunk, John McClelland, Jimmy Horton and Ryan Godown next in line. By lap fifteen, Pauch, Jr. was knifing his way through lap traffic as McClelland was tracking down Strunk for the runner-up position. After a multi-lap tussle for the runner-up position, McClelland edged by Strunk on the twenty-first tour to assume second place. Three laps later, Strunk regained the spot. On the next circuit, the sizeable advantage that Pauch, Jr. had established was wiped out as the yellow flag waved for a halfway point fuel stop. When action resumed, Pauch, Jr. remained in control with Godown jumping into second and McClelland in third. As he did in the first half of the race, Pauch, Jr. began to pull away from the field. With ten circuits to go, Pauch, Jr was slicing his way through lap traffic with Godown narrowing the gap. On lap forty-three, the yellow lights were lit as Rick Laubach stopped on the backstretch. As the green flag waved, Pauch, Jr. repelled Godown to keep his lead with McClelland, Dominick Buffalino and Strunk in pursuit. The final caution period of the race took place on the forty-fifth revolution as PJ Oliver’s ride stopped. Following the single file restart, Pauch, Jr. maintained his position and continued to pace the field to the checkered flag. For Pauch, Jr., the victory was his fifth of the year at New Egypt Speedway and his second career All Star Cup win. Godown completed the race in second with Buffalino finishing in third. A strong run resulted in McClelland crossing the line in fourth place. Strunk came home in fifth. Buffalino, Strunk, and Danny Bouc won the 358 Modified heat races. Ryan Krachun took the checkered flag in the consolation contest.

For the fifth time in 2016, Ryan Godown was the victor in the Burlington County Overhead Door NEWS Sprint main event. Heidi Heddin led the first four circuits of the 20-lap main event before Johnny Cornell took over. Godown, who started the contest in twelfth place, charged past Cornell for the lead on the thirteenth tour. Cornell, who announced his retirement from racing, finished in second place. Third place was taken by Bobby Butler. The top five was completed by Heddin and Brian Spencer. The qualifying events in the Burlington County Overhead Door NEWS Sprints division were taken by Lee Nardelli and Butler.

In the 25-lap Sportsman feature, Jim Housworth collected his fifth career win at New Egypt Speedway. Art Liedl led the pack for the opening eleven circuits. On lap twelve, ninth place starting Steve Davis darted to the front. Following a caution period on the nineteenth revolution, Housworth outdueled Davis to gain the lead. In the final laps, Housworth kept his advantage to grab his first win at New Egypt Speedway since 2013. Second place was claimed by Bob Lineman, Jr. With Davis taking third, Brandon Grosso was fourth and Matt Stangle took fifth. Davis and Art Liedl were victors in the Sportsman heat races.

Matt Stangle, the 2015 New Egypt Speedway Rookie champion, sped to the victory in the 25-lap Crate Modified feature. Jeremy Martino started the race in front and paced the field until John Aumick took over on the twelfth lap. On the next tour, Stangle worked his way past Aumick and led the race for the remaining distance. Aumick took the runner-up spot with Ebby Ridge completing the event in third. Frank Dorry, Jr. and Ryan Simmons filled out the top five. The Crate Modified heat race winners were Stangle and Jordan Cox.

Sheppard Exercises The Demon Wins tenth Super DIRTcar Series race of the year

BREWERTON, N.Y. - Sept. 16, 2016 - Super Matt Sheppard... is there anymore I need to say? He is the man to beat this year as he captured his fourth Super DIRTcar Series victory in a row and his tenth of the season Friday night at Brewerton Speedway for the Duel at the Demon Modified 100 lap main event.

The driver of the FX Caprara No. 9s Big Block Modified is no stranger to victory lane this year. Counting Volusia and Eldora, each, as one event, Sheppard so far has maintained a 45.45% win percentage. That is a percentage unheard of in motorsports.

Coming from the 12th starting position, Sheppard was thrilled with his victory. "The car was so good. I wasn't in a hurry. That's a lot of fun when we have a racecar that good. I can't say enough about it. It's been huge. We had that big wreck there back in August but the month of September has been good for us. We're seven for seven in the month of September. I can't say enough about this car and this team. We have such a potent combination."

The start of the Duel at the Demon 100 saw front row starters Ryan Bartlett and Stewart Friesen duke it out back and forth before the first caution of the night was brought out on lap five as Danny Johnson hit the wall hard coming out of turn four, bringing out the red flag. Danny climbed out of the car and was fine.

Billy Decker took advantage of the lap six restart as he went three wide going into turns one and two splitting the two and taking over the top spot.

Seventh place starter Tim Fuller was already knocking on Friesen's doors by lap nine for the second spot. Fuller slid Friesen in turns three and four and took over the second spot on lap 11.

Twelfth place starter and point's leader Sheppard was in the top five by lap 12.

Decker was working his way around the bottom as Fuller planted his car on the topside and drove by Decker for the lead on lap 15.

Larry Wight started challenging Decker on the outside as he captured second spot on lap 17.

Sheppard took over fourth spot on lap 18 from Friesen.

Fuller had five car lengths over second place runner Wight when he caught the back of the field on lap 22.

Sheppard started challenging Decker on the bottom as Decker slid up in turns three and four allowing Sheppard to sneak by on lap 24 for the third spot.

Wight was driving hard on the outside as he was battling through heavy lapped traffic allowing Sheppard to close the gap. Sheppard dove under Wight and took over the number two spot on lap 35.

Fuller was running the top side of the track as Sheppard was digging low gaining ground on Fuller. Fuller got stuck behind a lapped car as Sheppard flew by on lap 39 to take the lead and immediately started to pull away.

Sheppard led the field at the halfway mark by a straightaway over Fuller, Wight, Decker and Friesen.

Decker took advantage of the lap 75 restart as he shot to the outside of Wight and took over the second spot on lap 76.

Sheppard was in his own league as he pulled away while Wight, Friesen and Sears Jr. battled for the third spot. Sears Jr. made a late race charge, took third spot then stalked down Decker to take the second spot with one lap to go.

As Dave Farney threw the VP Racing Fuels double checkered flags, it was clear that Sheppard and his team are one lethal combination. "I told these guys after that wreck that we needed to bounce back 100%. Within a matter of three of four days we were 100%. We got back to Lebanon Valley and it showed since then we've been on a tear. I can't thank everyone enough."

Eighth place starter Tim Sears Jr. made a late race charge as he patiently waited for the right time to make his moves and finish in the runner up spot.

"As the race went on the car kept getting better and better. It kind of just fell into place. Billy, Larry and Friesen all started sliding around so I knew I was going to be pretty good I just kept saving. All of the hard work in the shop and stuff, that's where these good runs come from. The harder you work, the better the results."

Billy Decker led early but fell two spots short once the checkered flag fell behind Sheppard and Sears Jr.

"The Page Transportation wasn't bad we just weren't good enough. So we just need to grin and bear it and claw at it and salvage a finish. I wasn't working good anywhere really. I just tried to roll and keep it straight but I didn't do a good job at that."

Race Notes:
41 modifieds attempted to qualify and 30 started the feature. Matt Sheppard received the Pole Position Raceway fast time award in time trials with a 14.105. There was one red on lap 5 and two yellows on lap 60 and lap 75 during the feature.

The Super DIRTcar Series will be in action at Weedsport Speedway, Saturday, Sept. 17th.

Accord, NY- "The Chairman Of The Board" Rich Ricci Dominates King Of The Catskills At Accord Speedway
By: Steve Pados, Accord Speedway Media

The Ulster County weather was perfectly warm and breezy, the Accord Speedway was in top form and a great roster of drivers and a standing room only crowd proved to be a win/win for Promoters Gary and Donna Palmer to host their annual King of the Catskills event at the speedway. Working right up until race time, Gary Palmer had the pristine quarter mile clay speedplant in impeccable condition and the attention to detail enabled the stout field of Modified and Sportsman competitors to race wall to wall throughout the evening of racing events. The evening of speed was headlined by sponsor Bruce Insinger and his Insinger Fuel Team. Check them out on the web at: www.insingerperformance.com

When all was said and done, Modified short track specialist "The Chairman of the Board" Rich Ricci jumped on the talented Modified field at the drop of the green flag and never looked back as he dominated the racing action in a wire to wire triumph at the speedway. The win for Ricci was his fourth King of the Catskills triumph and Ricci walked away with the $5,000.00 prize that went along with it. In the Healey Brothers Group Sportsman Joe Giachinta Memorial 30-lap shootout, Chris Stevens led only the final turn and one half to nip Corey Cormier at the finish line to capture the win and the $1,500.00 pay day that awaited him in the Lucas Oil Products Victory Lane. In the Nightcap for the Emmanuel's Marketplace Fireball Four Cylinder Enduros, George Zeininger continued his mastery over the rest of the Enduro field to go on and win his third Enduro event of the season and with the win walk away with a hefty haul of money.

Twenty-four of some of the finest Modifieds on the East Coast today took off in a run for the roses in the King of the Catskills headliner with Rich Ricci wasting no time to blast out into the lead. Pole Sitter Jeff Strunk followed and stayed close early in the event. A few early skirmishes dropped some quality talent from the field as Danny Creeden, Anthony Perrego, Joey Grammes and Mike Colsten were some of the early casualties. On each restart Ricci was able to get the great starts and by the midpoint of the event had stepped away from the field.

Things were beginning to heat up as Mike Ricci made a run for the front and Jimmy Horton was working the baseline of the speedway as if he were on rails. Mike Ricci slipped past Strunk and a few laps later Horton was able to do the same. Tommy Meier, Andy Bachetti, Brian Krummel and Nick Rochinski were in the hunt as well and after forty laps things began to change rapidly in the make-up of the event. Mike Ricci raced into second place only to lose the spot a few laps later to Jimmy Horton who had gotten past Strunk. Tommy Meier came back to life as slipped by Bachetti. Horton closed the distance on Rich Ricci quickly and they were nose to tail on lap-48. Horton slowed for a slower car in front of him and seemed to lose a bit of momentum. The final ten laps found Rich Ricci uncontested as he drove to a convincing win in a dominating effort for the New Paltz, New York resident. Jimmy Horton began his drive to the front from eleventh starting place and did a great job of mastering the baseline of the speedway for runner-up honors. Mike Ricci was third with a real strong run. Jeff Strunk, the defending champion of the event in 2015, ran a strong fourth and Tommy Meier completed the top five finishers. Brian Krummel headed up the second five with Andy Bachetti seventh, Nick Rochinski eighth, Donnie Elliott ninth and Danny Tyler completing the top ten. Ricci turned the fastest time during the event with a 13.184 second clocking and Strunk was right behind with a 13.386 time.

Aaron Doolittle and Joe Conklin made up the front row for the Sportsman main event named in honor of the late Joe Giachinta. Giachinta was a true gentleman and friend of the speedway and lost his life in an industrial accident last November. Conklin outhustled Doolittle for the point and led the first five laps until Kenny Hinsch used the bottom of the speedway to get past him. The next time around would prove the undoing of Conklin as a skirmish removed him to the sidelines. Hinsch would lead the way until lap seventeen as Corey Cormier went topside to take command of the event and Hinsch would meet the inside barrier and be done for the evening.

On the restart it would Cormier showing the way with Chris Stevens taking up the chase from 14th starting position. Cormier was back at the top of the speedway and as the leaders came upon slower traffic, Stevens was working the bottom to erase any lead Cormier had built up. Slower traffic would come into play quickly as a pack of cars were running together and Cormier went to the top to slip past them. As the white flag flew Cormier and Stevens were nose to tail and dodging traffic left and right. As they reached turn three, Cormier went to the top and Stevens went to the baseline with Stevens sliding up and Cormier driving down and the two cars touched and it would be Stevens just nipping Cormier for the win.

Joey Bruning from 13th starting position would finish third with Tyler Johnston fourth and Allison Ricci from 17th completing the top five. The second five were steady Milton Mann, Daniel Morgiewicz, Chris Lynch, Nick Plumstead and Phil Goetchius. Corey Cormier turned the fastest lap when he clocked 13.557 seconds.

The veteran campaigner George Zeininger wasted no time in charging to the front in the 50-lap Emmanuel's Marketplace Fireball Four Cylinder Enduro excursion. Zeininger, who captured two wins earlier in the 2016 season and the defending champion of the event last year, had himself a stout race car and was able to drive away from the field and go on to victory. Former Street Stock campaigner Gene Helms has found a new place to race with the Enduros as he enjoyed a solid run for runner-up honors. Johnny Bankich paced himself throughout the event and finished just behind Helms for third place money.

GEMSTONES:

The showcased event of the season at Accord for the Palmer Family was another spectacular event for the successful promotional team now in their 16th season at operating their Ulster County facility. The racing was superb as every Modified and Sportsman heat resembled a mini feature event. The standing room only crowd came from far and wide with as many as twelve states representing the statewide support of the tremendous racing activity. Parking was at a premium and the grounds were abuzz with excitement for the long awaited evening of racing at the "Gem in the Catskills". The turnstiles of fans filled the concession areas all night long as they devoured the great cuisine offered up by the speedway concessions.

41 Modifieds made their way to the pit area along with 39 sportsman and 31 Four Cylinder Enduros. Five heats were needed for the Modifieds with Joey Grammes, Ed Dachenhausen, Brian Krummel, Mike Ricci and Nick Petrilak scoring wins. The Sportsman division cars also ran five heats with Aaron Doolittle, Joe Conklin, Corey Cormier, Brandon McGill and Tyler Boniface capturing the wins. Three B-Mains were needed for the Modifieds with Danny Creeden, Brain Malcolm and Danny Tyler collecting the wins. Three Sportsman B-Mains were needed and won by Leo Fotopolous, Jimmy Johnson and Rich Ricci III.

Both divisions were in abundance with drivers on this evening and many did not make the final transfer into the feature and the speedway management would like to thank everyone for making a fine effort to get into the lineup. Brad Szulewski, Ken Ferrier, Mike Butler, Bobby Trapper, Bob Hentschel, Chris Shultz, Chuck McKee, Kurt Hundeland, Danny Kronk, Brett Graham, Ray See, Richard Smith, Ed Burgess, Brad Rothaupt and Joe Judge. Sportsman drivers included Jamie Yannone, Vinnie Gress, Stan Vishinski, Mike Murphy, Ryan McCartney, Phil Johnson, Jim Introne, Kyle Rohner, Mark Connolly, Matt Shultz, Dave Demorest and Travis Codswell.

Grandma Annies Pies were back in victory lane last evening courtesy of Liggan Insurance, Wright's Farm Market, Rosendale Farmers Market and Cousin Pete Donohue.

Condolences go out to the Tyler Racing Team as Mike Edwards, the longtime crew chief for Doug Tyler, passed away during the past week.

"Uncle" Mike Hansen from WRWD Radio 107.3 FM was back in the house and once again enjoyed the show as he helped out with commentary throughout the evening.

The Giachinta Family was at the speedway and presented the Joe Giachinta Cup to the winner Chris Stevens.

Speedway management thanks all of our drivers and fans for a great season at the speedway.

Halloween Havoc is next up on the Accord Speedway schedule. The date is October 29th with a full itinerary of racing and fun things for the families of racing to enjoy. Accord, NY- All Systems Go For The King Of The Catskills September 16th At Accord Speedway
By: Steve Pados, Accord Speedway Media

Accord Speedway is coming off a very successful last weekend in which six division champions were named for the 2016 racing season and a spectacular patriotic intermission tribute absolutely rocked the house. The Accord Speedway management team has the "House in order" in preparing for the biggest event of the season at the speedway. Promoters Gary and Donna Palmer and staff have burned the midnight oil and have been working hard to greet the participants who will be working their magic on the Accord clay. The highly anticipated evening of racing excitement and the expected huge crowd will have the opportunity to see many of their favorite stars in action on the pristine, semi-banked quarter mile speedplant on September 16th. Gary Palmer will attend to his duties with an all-out effort in giving the combatants a moist and tacky track surface they can race from wall to wall throughout the evening. The action on the speedway will be brisk and it will be thrill a second when the King of the Catskills event is unleashed. Donna Palmer and her staff will work their magic with great attention to detail from ticket sales to the food concessions as the well noted kitchen at Accord has been serving up great cuisine all season long. The weekend of racing excitement is sponsored by Bruce Insinger and his Insinger Fuel and Performance Team.

The Friday night show in 2016 will bring in three divisions of hot rod racers and all with special events to try their hand at winning some high paying dollars on the quarter mile, clay cushioned speedway. The evening will bring in the King of the Catskills 60 lap event Modified event that will pay $5,000.00 to the first driver under the checkered flag at the end of 60 laps of the hard driving excitement.

Accord Speedway offers some great in-house driving talent as the newly crowned United Pump and Tank track champion, "The Montgomery Missile" Anthony Perrego will be out to defend his turf as the 2016 speedway champion. "Iron" Mike Ricci, who scored two wins during the season and fell just a few points short of the 2016 title, is a master of the short track real estate and will be well prepared for the event. "The DC Express" Danny Creeden, has enjoyed a great season at Accord as has "Showtime" Danny Tyler. The brothers Ferrier, "Primetime" Scott Ferrier and "The KF Flyer" Kenny Ferrier, "The Iceman" Dom Roselli, "The Legend" Richie Eurich, "Double J" Joe Judge, "The Rhinebeck Rocket" Brad Rothaupt, Jesse Marks, Brett Graham, Mark Pullen, Ed Dachenhausen and Corey Lowitt and bolstered late in the season with the addition of Mike Butler, Donnie Elliott, Chuck and Tyler McKee, Bobby Hentschel, Ray See Jr and Ed Burgess.

Defending King of the Catskills winner "The Bechtelsville Bullet" Jeff Strunk has informed speedway management he will be back to defend the crown. Strunk is coming off one of his greatest triumphs in his illustrious career last Saturday night when he captured the coveted "Freedom 76" event at the Grandview Speedway to the tune of $25,000.00. Strunk will be aboard the powerful Glenn Hyneman owned 126 for the event. Jeff will face plenty of opposition as New Jersey racing legend Jimmy Horton will come into the event flying the colors of the Orange County Fair Speedway where he captured an earlier qualifier for the event. Orange County Speedway Big Block Modified and 358 Modified Champion Tommy Meier will be in competition at Accord on Friday. "The Wild Child" Andy Bachetti is coming off a superb season in which he captured the 2016 I-88 Speedway track championship and will be making a return to the speedway for the event. Bachetti is a two-time track champion at Accord and a past winner of the King of the Catskills. "Flyin" Brian Malcolm, "The Shohola Slingshot" Brad Szulweski, "The Speed Trap" Bobby Trapper, Bobby Trapper Jr, Jeff Rudalavage and many are expected in for this event.

The Healey Brothers Group Sportsman will be in action and pointing towards a $1,500.00 prize as the speedway offers a memorial event to one of the truly good guys in racing, Joe Giachinta. Joe lost his life last year in an industrial accident after the season ended but was instrumental in assisting the Accord Speedway with his innovative Redi Rock International concrete blocks that make up the speedway retaining barriers from turn three all of the way into turn one. Joe competed at Accord since 2003 and his missing name on the driving roster is heart breaking to everyone who knew him. Joe assisted with the career of "Jumpin" John McGill and followed up by helping Sportsman racer Brandon McGill and Junior Slingshot racer Jake Mason. All those who have come in contact with Joe Giachinta knew he was a great guy from the first Hello. He is truly missed by his family and his family of friends from the Accord Speedway.

The new crowned Sportsman track champion "Jammin" Jimmy Wells will head up a top flight contingent of drivers seeking to pull off the big win. Wells earned ten wins during the season in his Backwoods Blends/Rycor HVAC sponsored racer to earn his first track title at Accord. Plenty of competition will arrive to try to tip Wells off his pedestal and included in the group are track regulars Phil Goetchius, Chris Stevens, Corey Cormier, Ralph Ronk, Connor Otten, Brandon McGill, Nick Johsnon Dave Demorest and Nick Plumstead. Joey Bruning, "Mr Excitement" Kevin Ward, Milton Mann, Tyler Johnston, Jim Introne, Brad Cicio, Mike Senecal and last season's winner of the event, "The K-Man" Robbie Knipe, who has raced on a limited schedule this season. Winter Mead, who captured a win last season, has been working the gremlins out of her racer the past few weeks.

Former two-time speedway champion "The Bushkill Bullet" Kyle Rohner has signed on for the event. Rohner is coming off a season in which he captured the Five Mile Point Sportsman title.

The thrill a second Emmanuel's Marketplace Fireball Four Cylinder Enduro gang will also be on the race card. One hundred laps of racing on the Accord clay will determine the winner of the $2,000.00 prize offered up by the speedway. There have been five events in 2016 with George Zeininger winning the first two events. Dave Donovan captured the next two features and was on his way to a third win until fuel woes placed him on the sidelines. Derek Delaney would go on to win the feature and all three winners are expected back for the big money event.

Racing is on tap every Friday night from April through September. The King of the Catskills event is this week for the speedway on Friday evening, September 16th. Pit Gates will open at 5:00; Spectator Gates open at 5:30; Hot Laps are at 7:00 and the racing begins at 7:30 PM. Admission at the gate for the spectacular show is Adults $24.00 Seniors $22.00 (12+) Children $5.00 (11+ under) Reserved Indoor Seating $30.00; Family four pack special: 2 Adults + 2 Children and $20.00 in Food Vouchers for $68.00 (a savings of $10.00)

The always spectacular King of the Catskills weekend lands on Friday evening at the speedway. The date is September 16th with a rain date in place for September 23th. The multi-division show will feature the United Pump and Tank Modifieds in a 60 lap feature attraction with $5,000.00 on the line for the winner and presented by Insinger Fuel and Performance. The Joe Giachinta Memorial for the Sportsman division will offer a $1,500.00 to win prize and the Emmanuel's Markeplace Fireball Four Cylinder Enduros will duke it out for $2,000.00 for the winner.

King of The Big Blocks

BRIDGEPORT SPEEDWAY PRESENTS THE KING OF THE BIG BLOCKS

The Bridgeport Speedway will introduce The King of the Big Blocks - sponsored by K&A Excavating Company, Inc. - on Saturday, September 24th on the lightning fast 5/8th mile speedway.

The Spirit Auto Center Big Block Modifieds will be featured in qualifying events and a $12,000 to win, 50 lap feature event. The Stewart Stainless Crate/Sportsman and PennCo Tech Outlaw Stocks will complete the line-up in the tripleheader program.

With the Bridgeport Speedway being the only track in the Garden State who headlines Big Block Modifieds, the Speedway Management wanted to offer a high dollar event to feature their Big Block Division since most of the special events throughout the Tri-State area are for the Small Block Modifieds. This event promises to attract the leading names in Modified drivers throughout the area.

K&A Excavating Company, Inc. came on board as the title sponsor for the King of the Big Blocks event. K&A Excavating is a company who has built their reputation on their commitment to providing quality service - a commitment that has them many valuable customers over the years. With more than thirty years of experience, K&a Excavating is the "go to" company when you need asphalt removal, land clearing or site preparation. On the best equipment is used for each job by a skilled staff who are able to perform the tasks involved in all projects. K&A's mission statement is to provide customers with courteous and friendly service and quality workmanship.

Competing for the big prize will be Bridgeport regulars - 2016 Bridgeport Modified Champion, Ryan Watt, 2012 Champion, Rick Laubach, Sam Martz, The Watson brothers - Jordan and Joseph, Neal Williams, Richie Pratt, Jr., David Hunt, Tommy Beamer, Ron Roberts as well as both rookie Big Block Feature winners, CJ Jones and Jim Britt. Jimmy Horton - the winningest driver in Bridgeport history and multi-time track champion - will be in the field to challenge the Bridgeport regulars along with former Orange County Speedway Champion, Jerry Higbie and young driving sensations - Tyler Dippel, Billy VanInwigen and Brett Kressley who earned his first Big Block Modified win right here at Bridgeport earlier this season. Drivers like Duane Howard, Craig VonDohren, Jeff Strunk, Ryan Krachun, Ryan Godown, David VanHorn, Billy Pauch Sr., Billy Pauch Jr. and Dominick Buffalino are expected to pull double duty this weekend, racing in both the Friday and Saturday night events. Drivers like Mike Barone, Ryan Andersen, Donny Cogdill, Jamie Mills, Scott Ambruster, Mike Iles and both Jesse and Travis Hill will be returning to action for this featured event.

Racing will get underway at 6pm on Saturday, September 24th with the Big Block Modifieds, Crate/Sportsman and Outlaw stocks in action but the two-day show will start on Fridayevening, September 23rd when the Small Block Modifieds and Tri-State Race Saver Sprint cars will compete in a doubleheader show that gets underway at 7:30pm.

The track preparation has been excellent - just ask anyone who has competed on the lightning fast Bridgeport Speedway 5/8 mile track this season! Many races have been decided in the final laps and with the line-up of drivers expected for this big weekend, it should be racing action at its finest!

The final feature events of the season point chase in both the Big Blocks and Crate/Sportsman were decided in the final three laps. Ryan Watt took the lead with just three laps to go, racing ahead of CJ Jones and Tommy Beamer to capture his fourth Bridgeport Big Block win of the season. Brad Roberts raced side by side with Steve Davis in the final laps of the Crate/Sportsman main event to pick up his third win of 2016. TJ Henry has twelve wins in a row and a total of thirteen victories this season in the Outlaw Stock Division where a $200 bounty has been offered to any driver who can win a feature event with Henry still in competition. Eight different drivers have claimed victory in Tri State Race Saver Sprint Car competition at the Bridgeport Speedway with only former champion, Mike Haggenbottom able to repeat so far this season.

A special two-day pass is being offered to fans in advance of this event. For $45, fans will receive grandstand seats for both Friday and Saturday night's events AND a $10 food voucher that can be used at the Bridgeport Speedway concession stands. As always, there will be live music, basketball and volleyball, the Moon Bounce and rides on the Bandit Bus that will give you a behind the scenes view of the racing action from the pits before the night's action gets underway. Pick up a copy of the Bridgeport Bullet - the official program of the Bridgeport Speedway - and catch up on all of the racing action, filled with plenty of photos and suitable for collecting autographs throughout the weekend.

Handicapped seating is available on the homestretch.

Camping will be available starting on Thursday night at the Bridgeport Speedway.

Should it be necessary, Saturday, October 1st has been designated as a rain date for the King of the Big Blocks event.

The Bridgeport Speedway is committed to maintaining a safe, fun, family atmosphere, creating life-lasting memories of excitement.
