BECHTELSVILLE, PA (September 16, 2018) . . . . Trick or Treat, Halloween Ghostly Ghouls, and a witches cauldron will hover under a full moon on Saturday night, October 13 when the NAPA Auto Parts Thunder on the Hill Racing Series presents the House of Thunder Halloween Party at the Grandview Speedway. A Spooktacular event returns to the "haunted hill" with the 21st running of the Modified Traffic Jam, a 40 lap feature event paying $5,000 to win, $1,000 for tenth-place and $500 to start the twenty-four car starting field for all who pre-enter. The Sportsman and MASS Sprint Cars will also be a part of this Triple Thunder Thriller event with pit gates opening at 2:30 PM, general admission tickets go on sale at 4 PM with cars taking the green flag at 6 PM.
Fans interested in advance tickets may order them by calling 443-513-4456. Please speak clearly and leave your name and the number of tickets you would like. Tickets may be paid for and picked up at the Will Call Window on race night after 3:00 PM. Advance ticket holders may enter the grandstands at 3:30 PM, one-half hour before general admission tickets going on sale at 4 PM. Advance tickets orders will be available until 9 AM on race day, Saturday, October 13, then general admission tickets go on sale at 4 PM.
This haunting Halloween trick-or-treat celebration will spotlight the Modified Traffic JAM -- a race rich in history, having started in 1998 when Brett Hearn took the inaugural win. In the twenty year history of the Traffic Jam, Hearn is a four-time winner. Duane Howard, recent winner of the 2018 Freedom 76, is the first pre-entry driving the Norm Hansell #357.
A special rules package is offered as a 'treat' to the region's competitors, with both American Racer and Hoosier tires allowed for competition, and either Big-Block or Spec Small-Block engines permitted. An event sheet with the complete payoff, rules, and details is available at www.thunderonthehillracingseries.com
There is no entry fee but drivers must pre-enter to be eligible for the posted payoff. Drivers may pre-enter by calling 443 513 4456.
The popular Sportsman division is also on the card, competing for a $1,300 top prize for 25-laps of competition on 'the hill.' The same tire rule is in effect for the Sportsman - competitors are allowed to compete on Hoosier or American Racer rubber. Grandview Sportsman rules are in effect and competitors are allowed to run sail panels. Full rules are available on the Grandview Speedway website.
The MASS Sprint Cars will compete in heat race qualifying action and a 25-lap A-Main. Standard MASS club rules apply to competitors.
Fans are invited to come dressed for the occasion, Halloween costumes will be popular attire for the night with awards going out to best dressed for children and adults. Please expect some Halloween candy and of course, this night always provides some tricks and treats along the way.
The NAPA Auto Parts Thunder on the Hill Racing Series Halloween Party has been a staple of the Grandview Speedway schedule for over 15 years and will once again include the fan Costume parade. Race fans young and old are encouraged to dress in costume to be eligible for special Halloween prizes.
'Joe the Pizza Dude' will offer up hot, delicious, and FREE pizzas to the rowdiest of race fans before the action kicks off. Make some noise when 'The Pizza Dude' comes around, to earn yourself a free pizza!.

REED GRABS MODIFIED WIN, MONGEAU AND ALCARO SWEEP TWINS AT WALL SATURDAY
WALL TOWNSHIP, N.J. ~ Two-time former driving champion Steven Reed of Jackson turned around a season of bad fortunes to win the 40-lap Pete and Elda's Bar/Carmen's Pizzeria Modified stock car race at Wall Stadium Speedway Saturday night. It was Reed's 30th career win in the All American Auto Group Racing Series.
Young Joey Merlino of Pine Hill was the first leader of the contest as Reed and a host of others charged to the front from mid-pack. Jason Treat of Jackson was the first to arrive and took the lead with an outside lane pass on lap nine. Treat's strong Run only lasted four laps, however, as his race car suddenly shut off on the front stretch sending his competitors scrambling to avoid him. Merlino then regained the lead, but that lasted only moments as he was forced to pit with a flat tire.
By this time Holmdel's Andrew Krause and Reed had completed their runs to the front and lined up side-by-side for the restart. Using the outside lane Reed was able to power to the front and then raced home to win. Krause was the runner-up, while point leader Jimmy Blewett of Howell was third. Freehold's Chas Okerson and Roger Coss wrapped up the top five.
“Finally,” Reed said upon exiting his car in the winner's circle. “You know, I really have to thank my grandmother for her support. Even when we were having all that trouble, she is here every race and always offering support. Have to thank my wife, my mother, my father and everyone who helps! This is a real team sport and family sport. Dennis Freese and George Andretta were also big in getting this new car together.”
Shanon Mongeau of Manchester continued his perfect season with two victories in twin Mike's Performance Center Limited Late Model main events. In the first 25-lapper Joe Mongeau of Brick was the runner-up, while Bayville's Mike Tillett, Dom Casola of Holmdel and Harry Schaeffer of Carteret wrapped up the top five. In the second 25-lapper Shanon Mongeau made it eight wins in eight starts, while Tillett, Schaeffer, Jackson's Greg Gastelu and Casola completed the top five.
Mike Alcaro of West Milford also earned two sets of trophies as he swept 25-lappers for the Green Flag Driving Experience Legend Cars. Point leader Nick Van Wickle was the runner-up in race number one, while Rob Silver of Wall, Peter Bruno of Little Silver and Chris Hammett were third through fifth. In the second 25-lapper Alcaro was the winner with Van Wickle, Hammett, Bruno and Eugene Drew of Oakland wrapping the top five.
Kyle Scisco of Jackson tasted victory for the third time this year in a caution plagued 25-lap race for the Center State Engineering Sportsman cars. Scisco took the lead with an outside lane pass at the halfway mark and earned the win over Howell's Kevin Davison, Mike Brennan of Morristown, Jackson's Jarret DiGiantomasso and Michael Rising of Red Bank.
The All American Auto Group Racing Series continues this Saturday evening (Sept. 22) on “Pack the Track Night.” The O'Shea's Auto Repair Factory Stocks will return for twin 25-lap main events, while the Surfside Collision 4 cylinder Stocks, Sportsman cars and Legend Cars will all compete in a 25-lappers. Two Demolition Derby events will cap off the evening. Adults in the grandstand will enjoy a discounted $10 admission ticket, kids 6 to 12 are $5 and five and under are free! Parking is also free of charge. Grandstands open at 5:00 p.m., with qualifying set for 5:45 p.m. and feature race action set for 7:00 p.m.
Saturday night racing action continues through the October 6 “Champion's Night” with schedule details at www.wallspeedwayracing.com. The Halloween themed “Spooky Spectacular” racing event is set for October 20 and the annual Turkey Derby is set for Friday, Saturday and Sunday of Thanksgiving weekend. The post-season racing cards start during the afternoon.

THOMAS EMERGES FROM THE WRECKAGE TO CELEBRATE 3RD HAUBSTADT HUSTLER WIN

Haubstadt, Indiana......September 15, 2018 - An unprecedented accomplishment deserves an unprecedented celebration in Kevin Thomas, Jr.'s book.
Just moments after taking the checkered flag to become the first three-time winner of the "Haubstadt Hustler" at Tri-State Speedway, Thomas found himself sandwiched between a pile of racecars in turn one with heavy damage to the front end of his Dynamics, Inc./Mean Green - Jonathan Byrd/DRC/Speedway Chevy.
If it had been one lap earlier, it would've been a devastating heartbreaker for the Cullman, Alabama driver. Instead, it created a memorable celebration from the makeshift turn one junkyard as he emerged from the top of the roll cage to high-five his roommate and third-place finisher Jason McDougal who stacked his ride alongside that of Thomas.
"I've never had that happen. That was something special," Thomas exclaimed. "Immediately, I was kind of pissed off because I probably tore some crap up. But, at the end of the day, I'm the only person to win this race three times. I instantly went from a little frustrated to super pumped. When I got out, it was just a front end. We just won $10,000; we'll put another front end on it."
"Standing up in the middle of the corner on a wrecked racecar and doing a cage stand, it's not normal, but we got the job done," Thomas reflected. "Standing up on the four-wheeler with the crowd going nuts, that's something that'll definitely go down as something special in my memory, something that we'll still be talking about 10 years from now with our friends."
Thomas' voyage to get there began from the third spot behind front row starters Kent Schmidt and C.J. Leary. Schmidt sprinted to the lead on the opening lap, narrowly eclipsing Leary at the line by a foot. However, Leary took sole ownership of the lead entering turn one and would have a Master Lock on the spot for the bulk of the 40-lapper.
As Leary shined through much of the early stages, the night's most gnarly incident occurred on the 13th lap when third-running Schmidt's machine broke entering the third turn. Fourth-running and previous night's Terre Haute winner Brady Bacon was trailing just behind, but with nowhere to go, ramped over Schmidt's left rear wheel, snapped around backwards and flipped over. He was okay and, miraculously, restarted the race from the tail, ultimately finishing 14th.
Throughout the middle stages and within ten to go, Leary was in control, upping his lead to more than a second and a half while Thomas and McDougal duked it out for second. However, as can and will happen often in racing, lapped traffic came into play, at moments being a benefit to Leary and other times, ehh, not so much.
With four laps remaining, as soon as Leary's pace was stifled in traffic, it was almost as if you could hear the theme from the movie Jaws playing in the distance. As Leary drifted just a tad high off turn four, Thomas stuck his ride underneath Leary's, pulling side-by-side along each other in a drag race to the line to snare the lead, one in which he would not relinquish.
Thomas got a bit sideways between turns three and four coming to the checkered, but it was no harm, no foul, as he straightened it out, stood on the gas and finished out his fifth win of the year, followed by Leary, McDougal in his first ever visit to Tri-State, while Dave Darland and Carson Short rounded out the top-five.

"I've been in the same situation the past couple of weeks," Thomas admitted. "Leading is not necessarily the best place to be. C.J. skated up just a little bit off four and kind of got caught behind a lapped car. We were able to get up underneath him and beat him to one. As narrow as the track was, it wasn't necessarily blocking, but you could run a safe line where you don't have to run balls out and you can still make your car work and it makes it really hard to pass you. It's just one of those mind games. We were just trying to figure out the racetrack and it all played out in our favor tonight. We could do it all over again tomorrow and C.J. probably wins this race. We had a good racecar and luck on our side, finally."
Though he carried the USAC AMSOIL National Sprint Car point lead coming into Tri-State, Thomas' name was MIA on the winners' list for quite a while. He was certainly well aware that it had been just a few days shy of three months since his last triumph. He's had many a good run, qualified well - 14 fast times, in fact - but just wasn't able to get over the hump. Now with a win under his belt and a 21-point advantage in the standings, he's now back at the top of his game heading to next Saturday's "4-Crown Nationals" at Eldora Speedway where he knows the gameplan.
"You have to win races in order to win this deal," Thomas point blanked. "Sunshine (Tyler Courtney) is right behind and he wins every three races it seems like. If you're not winning races, eventually those third places aren't going to do the job. With the way this championship is going, the consistency is what's got us back to the lead, but if you want to secure that lead, you're going to have to win. You have to score the most points every single night and you have to run away with it. As good as they are, when you have one bad night, have one flat tire, or have one little thing go wrong, there's 30 points. You have to give yourself a cushion. You can't bank on a 10-point cushion getting you through the year because it ain't."

Ryan Smith wins thriller at Selinsgrove Speedway for $10,000 payday
SELINSGROVE, Pa. (September 15, 2018) - Holding off a hard charging Freddie Rahmer, the ‘Kunkletown Kid’ Ryan Smith put fans on their feet on Saturday night in Central Pennsylvania, ultimately earning a first-ever Jim Nace Memorial/National Open victory at Selinsgrove Speedway.
For Smith, the route to Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions presented by Mobil 1 victory lane was not only challenging for the driver, but also challenging for the crew, as the team discovered a hole in the right-rear tire during an open red just before the midpoint of the 30-lap main event. Despite the setback, Smith and his team prevailed, eventually leading every lap to score the $10,000 payday.
The All Star victory, aboard the Mike McGhee & Associates No. 11, was Smith’s second of the 2018 season and his eighth overall with the Series. Freddie Rahmer held on to finish, just ahead of Brian Brown, Lucas Wolfe and TJ Stutts.
“This is all because of the crew guys standing behind me,” an elated Ryan Smith said in victory lane. “We started on this thing in May. We struggled some at first, but we kept getting faster and faster and now here we are in September with a big win. They work their butts off, that’s for sure. I definitely wouldn’t be standing here without their hard work and support.”
Ryan Smith and TJ Stutts led the field to green on Saturday night at Selinsgrove Speedway. Although Smith was able to get the initial jump, it was Salfordville, Pennsylvania’s Freddie Rahmer who was making the early moves, actually advancing from eighth to fifth by the time the leaders crossed under the flagstand to complete the first circuit.
The top-five remained unchanged until the main event’s first caution appeared on lap six for a slowing Michael Walter. When green flag action returned, Freddie Rahmer made another move toward the front, this time driving around Lucas Wolfe to take the fourth spot. Just three circuits later, Rahmer pounced again, this time taking the third position from TJ Stutts.
Traffic came into play for the first time on lap 13 which slowed Smith’s pace at the front of the field, ultimately allowing Brian Brown, who raced in the runner-up spot the entire distance, and Rahmer to catch Smith in a hurry. The very next circuit, Rahmer advanced in the running order yet again, this time beating Brian Brown in a drag race off of turn four to complete lap 14. A caution on lap 15 for a slowing Tyler Esh halted the feature field yet again allowing Rahmer to catch his breath. Due to the number of combined laps completed, the main event’s second caution resulted in a fuel stop.
During the five minute open red stop, Ryan Smith’s team noticed a hole in their right-rear tire. Instead of replacing the tire and forfeiting the lead, the team decided to plug the hole and attempt to finish the final 16 circuits. The decision proved to be worth $10,000, but not without a fight from Freddie Rahmer.
The field returned to green with Ryan Smith in control once again over Rahmer, Brown, Wolfe and Stutts. Although the action was limited for the next few circuits, it was what happened after the feature’s third and final caution on lap 23 that created the stir at the front of the field. When the green lights kicked back on, so did Freddie Rahmer, instantly applying pressure on Smith as the pair completed lap 23. By lap 24, Rahmer was all over the ‘Kunkletown Kid,’ actually pulling even with Smith to create a side-by-side battle for the lead.
Although the wheel-to-wheel battle ended in Smith’s favor, Rahmer was far from raising the white flag. The recent All Star winner at Port Royal Speedway threw everything he had at Smith for the next three circuits, pounding the cushion as Smith ran the bottom, nearly driving around Smith in turn four on three consecutive occasions. Despite Rahmer’s mad attempts, Smith prevailed, eventually pulling away to a 1.3 second advantage at the final checkers.
“I really wasn’t sure where to go there after that last restart,” Ryan Smith explained. “During the fuel stop, my crew was actually telling me to run the bottom, but I was so comfortable running the top. I knew Freddie [Rahmer] was going to be good, but if he was that good, he was going to have to drive around me.”
Only two events remain on the 2018 Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions presented by Mobil 1 schedule including a stop at the legendary Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio, on Saturday, September 22. Joining all three divisions of USAC, Tony Stewart’s All Stars will help headline the 37th running of the 4-Crown Nationals which will also feature the USAC National Midgets, USAC National Sprint Cars and the USAC Silver Crown Series. The 4-Crown Nationals weekend at The Big E will actually begin on Friday, September 21, with World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series competition.

Shaffer wins $10K Jim & Joanne Ford Classic at Fremont

FREMONT, Ohio - Tim Shaffer dominated the last half of the 11th Annual Jim and Joanne Ford Classic at Fremont Speedway on JLH General Contractor Night to take home the $10,000 payday to wrap up the 67th season of racing at "Track That Action Built."
It was Shaffer's fourth win in the event that is held in honor of the husband and wife team and their family who saved Fremont Speedway and brought it back to life in 2000. Shaffer, who finished second the previous night at Fremont Speedway, now has 18 career wins at the track.
"Cody (Jacobs) and my guys keep giving me a great car. Tonight I could maneuver around and that was huge in lapped traffic. I haven't been here all year and to come in and be good tonight...that's just hats off to Cody and we had Ricky come on board and it seemed to up our game and it's a lot of fun," said Shaffer beside his Rudzik Excavating, FK Rod Ends, Smith Titanium, VRP Shocks backed machine.
Shaffer grabbed the lead from Penngrove, California's Buddy Kofoid on lap 16 of the 40-lap affair and Kofoid held off Cole Duncan to finish in the runner-up spot in his Fremont Speedway debut weekend.
"To finish second to Tim Shaffer is definitely not something to hang your head about. I feel like we got way better once the race went on. I got the wing back and the restarts were killing me. I'd wheelie up so I had to put the wing forward and put it back again. I can't thank Ed Neumeister enough for the opportunity and the Linders and the whole crew that makes this car go fast," Kofoid said beside the Dough Si Dough Bake Shoppe, Linder's Speed Equipment, Fisher Engines backed machine.
"This is probably one of the most fun times I've had in a long time. Just coming to new places is definitely makes you feel good. We were good both nights and picked up from last night. Two top fives...I'll take it," Kofoid added.
Grove City, Ohio's Cole Duncan, who has won a pair of big $10,000 shows this season, settled for third.
"Tim was better, especially earlier. But then it kind of evened out there and the top three cars were pretty similar. He would just stick better. That's all we had. I can't thank my guys enough. We over came a bad starting spot yesterday and put ourselves in a good position today but just came up a little bit short," said Duncan of his Helms Construction, Ohio Heating, Motor City Transport, Eco Mend backed machine.
Fremont's Jamie Miller dominated the Fremont Federal Credit Union 305 Sprint A-main, leading all 25 laps for his sixth division win of the year at the track. He also has a late model and dirt truck victory in 2018 and now has 20 career wins at Fremont Speedway. It is Miller's 11th overall victory in 2018 in the 305 sprint class. Miller was also crowned the champion of the JLH General Contractor FAST 305 Championship Series Presented by Engine Pro.
"I was actually a little freeier than I'd have like to have been but we got it done. Thirteen wins in a year was my best and we have 11 this year. It's nothing to complain about. This division is tough to get one win let alone 11," said Miller of his Sonic Hauling, Fostoria Mod Shop, Phil Rister Racing, NAPA of Attica, Reedtown Tavern, Branham Builders, Crown Battery, Avon by Angie, Sparting Underground backed #26.
The Burmeister Trophy Dirt Trucks competed for a $1,000 pay day and the 20-lap feature came down to the last 100 yards. Miller threw a huge slider on Fostoria, Ohio's Shawn Valenti in the final two corners and the duo banged wheels all the way to the checkers with Valenti taking the narrow victory.
It's the fifth truck win of the year at Fremont for Valenti who now has 46 career victories at the track placing him eighth on the all-time win list.
"I know Jamie and that 88 truck is fast and they won here the last time. I got lucky and threw a slider on him on that restart and I figured he was going to be throwing one back. I just hope the fans enjoyed that race because it doesn't get any closer than that," said Valenti. "Hat's off to Rich Farmer (promoter) and everything he has done for the race track. Hope to see him around more years to come. It's sad this is his last night. I have to thank the Babcocks for everything they do for me, Gressman Powersports, APlus Auto Center, Craig Miller Trucking and Pagliai's Pizza...without them this wouldn't be possible."
Shaffer and Kofoid brought the field to green for the 40-lap Fort Ball Pizza Palace 410 Sprint A-main with Kofoid gaining the advantage. With two laps scored the caution flew for Chance Morton who spun with DJ Foos spinning to avoid him. When the green reappeared Kofoid drove away from Shaffer with Andrew Palker trying to hold off Duncan and Adam Kekich for third.
Morton brought out the caution again on lap eight and on the ensuing restart Shaffer made a bid for the lead but Kofoid fought back the challenge. Duncan soon began pressuring Shaffer with Dale Blaney, Palker and Haudenschild in tow. Foos and Dan McCarron tangled in turn two on lap 13 and this time on the restart Shaffer hung tight with Kofoid and powered under him on lap 16 exiting turn four for the lead.
Travis Philo spun on lap 17 necessitating a fuel stoppage. When the race resumed Shaffer used the clear track to build a lead of over two seconds while Kofoid now had to fend off the challenges of Duncan. Philo would spin again due to steering component issues on lap 22 wiping out Shaffer's big lead.
On the ensuing restart Shaffer powered away from Kofoid, Duncan, Blaney, Palker and Hunter Scherenberg. Shaffer finally encountered lapped traffic with 11 laps to go but was able to maneuver through to maintain his advantage over Kofoid, Duncan, Blaney and Palker.
Shaffer was not to be denied as he drove to the checkers over Kofoid, Duncan, Blaney and Palker rounding out the top five.
In the 25-lap 305 A-main, Tyler Street and Miller brought the field to green but Kyle Peters would spin necessitating another start. The second start saw Miller bolt into the lead over Street, John Ivy, Ricky Peterson, Jimmy McGrath, Seth Schneider and Alvin Roepke.
Miller built a substantial lead until he caught the back of the pack on lap eight. Street was occupied trying to hold off Ivy though with Ivy taking the runner-up spot on lap with McGrath taking third two circuits later. Just as Ivy was reeling in Miller Peterson stopped to bring out the caution with 11 laps to go.
With a clear track Miller began to drive away once again as Ivy, McGrath, Roepke and Schneider gave chase. Roepke drove into third on lap 18 but could not make up ground on the lead duo of Miller and Ivy.
Miller sliced his way through traffic and took the checkers over Ivy, Roepke, Schneider and McGrath.
Fifth starting Kent Brewer drove into the lead of the 20-lap dirt truck A-main at the drop of the green with Miller, Jeff Ward and Brad Keckler giving chase. Within two laps 11th starting Valenti drove up to fifth before the caution for an Eric Devanna spin. On the restart Miller pounced into he lead with Brewer having to fend off Valenti and Ward. A caution for debris on lap five followed a crash involving Brewer and Ward a lap later. Another caution on lap seven for a crash involving four trucks slowed the action on lap seven.
When the green flew again Miller and Valenti began their battle with Cory McCaughey, Keith Sorg and Matt Foos giving chase. Another caution on lap 12 for Kyle Lagrou gave Valenti the opportunity he had been searching for. When the green flew Valenti executed a perfect slider on miller for the lead with McCaughey, Foos, Keckler and Sorg in tow.
Ward brought out the caution with five laps remaining and another involving Ward and Noah Wagner with two laps to go kept the race interesting and setting up the final lap excitement that saw Valenti hold off Miller with McCaughey, Foos and Sorg rounding out the top five.
Sorg was also honored for taking the 2018 Fremont Speedway title, his second in the division in the past three years.
JLH General Contractor gave out lots of bonuses throughout the evening including to the non-transfer cars, feature winners, hard luck driver, best wheelie and three lucky fans who caught Frisbees with the feature winning drivers names on them.

Eliason Gets Second Career Outlaw Win at Calistoga
CALISTOGA, CA – September 15, 2018 – An opportune Yellow Flag allowed Cory Eliason to officially lead all 25 laps Saturday night at Calistoga Speedway for his second career World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series victory. Donny Schatz took the lead off of turn four coming to the White Flag, but the caution negated the pass, forcing Schatz to be relegated back to second, where he finished. Logan Schuchart finished third, his second podium in as many nights at Calistoga.
Eliason won the Sears Craftsman Dash, earning the pole for 25-Lap Feature alongside his good friend and fellow California native Giovanni Scelzi. Eliason and Scelzi waged war on the opening lap, with Eliason turning under a Scelzi slide job to lead Lap 1.
Eliason, who scored his first career Outlaw win earlier this year at Stockton, powered away from the field as Scelzi, Schatz and Schuchart captivated the large Calistoga Speedway audience with their battle for second.
Schatz, who won the Wine Country Outlaw Showdown last year, moved by Schuchart into third on Lap 10 and set his eyes on young Scelzi, who was in search of his first career Outlaw triumph. Schatz edged in front of the youngster on Lap 11, but the Fresno, CA teenager battled back underneath the nine-time Series Champion to grab the runner-up position back.
Despite Scelzi’s resilience, Schatz wrestled the position away for good on Lap 14 as the Fargo, ND native focused his sights on Eliason. Schatz gradually cut into Eliason’s lead, setting up some potential late race fireworks. With five to go, Schuchart got by Scelzi for third as Schatz had all but erased Eliason’s lead.
Coming to the White Flag, Eliason slipped out of the rubber in turn three, opening the door for Schatz. Schatz got underneath Eliason, who was desperately trying to get back into the groove and the two made slight contact, resulting with Schatz having the advantage coming to the White Flag.
It was all for nothing as the caution flew for Brent Marks who came to a stop atop turn two, ending his charge forward.
The caution set up a Green-White-Checkered finish, and after getting a second chance at it, Eliason wasn’t going to make a mistake this time. The Visalia, CA native went on to win his second World of Outlaws Feature of the year and his career.
“I got out of the rubber and saw [Schatz] underneath me and thought was it, I’m going to finish second,” a jubilant Eliason said.
Eliason, who was making his 43rd Outlaw start of the season, has spent the majority of the 2018 season in the Midwest and East Coast and has valued his time at new race tracks. “I can’t thank Dennis and Theresa Roth enough, it’s absolutely been beneficial to be out on the road this year and I think our speed these few weeks at home show that,” Eliason added.
Donny Schatz was understandably disappointed to see the Yellow Flag fly, preventing his 20th win of the year. “That’s part of racing. Sometimes the Yellows fall your way, sometimes they don’t. We’ll take second and move on to Eldora on Friday,” Schatz said.
Logan Schuchart was pleased to be on the podium once again and gain momentum heading back East, “Being out here all the way from Pennsylvania, it’s great to finish on the podium back-to-back nights here, it says a lot about this team and how hard they work. Hopefully we can pick up some more wins to finish off the season,” Schuchart said positively.
Brad Sweet got by Gio Scelzi on the late restart to finish fourth with Scelzi matching his career-best Outlaw finish in fifth. Greg Wilson earned KSE Hard Charger honors.
