CHAMPIONSHIPS WILL BE DECIDED AT GRANDVIEW SPEEDWAY SATURDAY NIGHT
The Championship Chase comes to an end on Saturday night, September 8th, at Grandview Speedway. The WNPV1440 Championship Night will feature an action packed night of stock car racing that will see racers battling for the championships and for many the opportunity to improve their final standings so they get a bigger share of the NASCAR/track point money. Racing will see the first heat having a 7:30 p.m. starting time.
Mike Gular has been the point leader in the T.P.Trailers 358 Modifieds most of the season and he is looking to wrap up his first championship. Perhaps he will even win that elusive first feature of the season.
Sophomore standout Louden Reimert has not won a feature in the Sportsman division but like Gular he has used consistent performance to tally 2684 points to hold a 135 point edge over Brad Grim and 236 counters more than Mike Lisowski.
And in the Late Models, much like Gular and Reimert, Danny Snyder has set the pace in the point battle for the season and looks to take his first title. Defending champion Chuck Schutz has been making a late season charge to win another title.
All three divisions will be in action on Saturday night. And there is a great Low Down and Dirty Internet Radio Meet & Greet featuring Forrest Rogers Memorial winner Ray Swinehart, 10 time champion Jeff Strunk and Modified talent Jared Umbenhauer. It gets underway at the main gate area at 5 p.m.
This will be the final night of racing for the Late Models while the Sportsman return on Friday night, September 14th in a doubleheader Freedom 38 show that will also feature the exciting Mid Atlantic Sprint Series in a 7:30 p.m. show. The Sportsman will run in a non-points race. Adult admission is $12, youngsters 6 thru 11 pay $5 and under 6 are admitted free.
Modified racers will be looking forward to the $25,000 to win 48th Annual Freedom 76 set for 7 p.m. on Saturday, September 15th. Many will be using this night as an opportunity to test and tune for the big money event.
Advance tickets are available at the track prior to September 15th for the Freedom 76 and are priced at $35 while on race day they are priced at $40.
Admission for the Saturday night September 8th WNPV Radio tripleheader is $15 for adults, youngsters under 12 are admitted free.
This will be the last chance to sponsor a lap for the Freedom 76. The laps are priced at $20 and can be purchased from Tina Rogers or Tommy Kramer at the track.

BACON BANKS $15,000 BC39 VICTORY AT IMS

Speedway, Indiana....September 6, 2018 - Brady Bacon has won quite a few big races thus far in his racing career, but Thursday night, he put himself into a stratosphere unclaimed by any other: feature winner on the dirt track at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
The Broken Arrow, Okla. native made his winning move in traffic with just eight laps remaining to score the Driven2SaveLives "BC39" presented by NOS Energy Drink victory worth $15,000, his first series win of 2018.
But if you're going to win one, and only one, all year, make it one to remember. Bacon relishes that fact for not only himself, but for his FMR Racing crew who've been through the battlefields with him for four years now, a group of individuals he doesn't take for granted.
"This is definitely up at the top," Bacon exclaimed. "It's a first-year event, but it's the first win on the dirt track at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway and no one can ever take that away. Obviously, there's a lot of things that make it special for me, the team, Bob (East), Brad (Noffsinger) and Frank (Manafort). As many years as those guys have been together and to still be winning, it's an honor to work with guys like that. To still want to work this hard takes a lot to be at the top. They've done all the work, made the investment in me and still think I'm at the top. This one's probably going to take a while to sink in."
After a lengthy rain delay that pushed the evening's event back several hours, the A-Main pushed off just after midnight for the Inaugural 39-lap race where Bacon set forth all the way back in the seventh position.
Pole sitter Kevin Thomas, Jr. was masterful early, spurting out front from the drop of the green to lead the first baker's dozen of laps, working the bottom as Tyler Courtney blitzed the top just about one to two car lengths behind Thomas in a lap-after-lap battle for supremacy.
Thomas created some separation between he and Courtney in the first-third of the event until a six-car melee ensued between turns three and four on the 14th lap, resulting in Tucker Klaasmeyer toppling over on the 14th lap. He was uninjured and did not restart.

Once racing resumed, second-place Bacon made his presence felt as a contender, serving as Thomas' largest foil thus far, putting pressure on the Alabama driver as the two gapped the field.
On the 20th lap, Bacon fired his first shot across the bow, going stride-to-stride with Thomas into turn three, but Thomas was able to muscle his way back to the bottom to secure the line and the position. Bacon's move for the lead seemed imminent and, a lap later, he took another jab at Thomas off turn two, this time pulling the wheels off the ground, with a tad too much tightness at the moment, as his Brown & Miller Racing Solutions - Black Watch Farms - Mobil 1/Beast/Toyota roared to life.
The pressure was on Thomas as the pair hit lapped traffic. Thomas' line swung a little wider off the bottom as time wore on while Bacon's arching line stuck him to the bottom on exit like glue. Thomas' lead clung to life as he ripped from the high side of four off exit, swinging low like a sweet chariot across the nose of Bacon into turn one on lap 24 to retain the lead.
Traffic was plentiful on the bottom, forcing Thomas and Bacon to occupy the unclaimed high side nearing ten to go as Chad Boat suddenly entered the fray in third. Thomas slid out in turn four on lap 31 as Bacon tethered himself to the bottom and powered to the lead by a car length at the start/finish line. Thomas immediately darted to the bottom entering turn one as both he and Bacon put on a dueling Tokyo drift display through the corner while Boat emerged on the bottom to make it three-wide for the race lead down the back straight entering turn three.
"He wasn't leaving the door open for me until it got a little slicker," Bacon recalled. "He kept opening it wider and wider, and I was getting a better run. I just had to time it right. I got under him once and I thought I might've given it away by not staying in front of him. We were able to put enough pressure on him and made him think and move around a little bit, which allowed me to sneak underneath him. It was not over by any means because he had a really good racecar too and traffic could've gone in a number of ways."

Indeed, it did, as Bacon remained on the high side and established some personal space, climbing the ladder to the top and ever-so-slightly, subtly pinning Thomas and Boat behind the lappers between turns one and two.
Boat's attack was relentless, and Bacon had to be as suave as possible down the stretch. The veteran two-time USAC AMSOIL National Sprint Car champ was unflappable, keeping Boat at bay in the final laps to win by a half-second over Boat, Thomas, Courtney and KSE Racing Products/ProSource Hard Charger Christopher Bell from 17th.
"I thought we had a really good car from the start," Bacon explained. "I knew I was going to be a little tight at the beginning. We had some wheelies going on, but I knew it was going to come to me. I could see some black come in on the track. We had a really good line where we could throw it sideways and come off straight on the bottom."
Bacon, who is expecting to become a father once again in the coming weeks with baby number three on the way, is eager to look at the big picture of things through what has been a tumultuous season in some ways with switching Sprint Car teams in the middle of the season and a series of misfortunes in the Silver Crown car despite being strong the majority of time, but without the results to show for. The results came through Thursday at IMS as he and his crew came to the forefront to notch down a prestigious victory.
"It's been a season of adversity and overcoming obstacles," Bacon detailed. "Having a solid deal here in the midget helps a lot. Everyone who's involved has pitched in and done their part above and beyond what anyone should expect anyone to do.
Driver Robert Dalby of Anaheim, Calif. was transported to IU Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis for non-life-threatening injuries following his accident during the fourth qualifying race.

WISE WINS PURSUIT, BRIGHT HIGH POINT MAN IN BC39 OPENER

Speedway, Indiana.........Wednesday's opening night of the Driven2SaveLives "BC39" presented by NOS Energy Drink began a new era of racing at the Dirt Track at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, set inside turn three of the surrounding world-famous 2.5-mile paved oval.
15-year-old Zeb Wise captured the victory in the Stoops Pursuit, a 20-lap elimination race in which you would be eliminated if you were passed. Coming to the white flag, the Angola, Ind. native went on the offense, sliding by Alex Bright in turn four on the penultimate lap to win the $1500 payday. In doing so, he put the 39BC in victory lane at the BC39, a fitting tribute to the late, great USAC champ in which the event is named for.
In preliminary action, Tyler Courtney completed an IMS Dirt Track version of a spin and win to become the first official winner of a race at the quarter-mile dirt oval, sliding to halt midway through the ten-lapper while leading, but the Indianapolis, Ind. driver got up on the wheel and drove it back to the front to capture the win in heat race one. Meanwhile, David Prickett and Tyler Nelson were involved in a tangle that resulted in a double-flip. Both walked away.
In heat race two, Macdoel, California's Maria Cofer, subbing for the injured Spencer Bayston, became the first female winner in the history of the Dirt Track at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, getting to the point on the second lap from her outside front row starting spot.
Cullman, Alabama's Kevin Thomas, Jr. shot from fifth to first by lap two and never looked back, dominating heat race three to take the victory.
Shane Cottle of Kansas, Ill. wired the field in heat race four, leading all 10 laps to score the victory. Behind him, a torrid battle ensued as Dillon Welch ripped the fence lap after lap alongside Brian Karraker, but Karraker was able to get the spot to finish second on the final lap behind Cottle.
Tucker Klaasmeyer drove from seventh to first by halfway as the Paola, Kansas driver cruised to a two-second victory in heat race five.
An enthralling heat six saw USAC Triple Crown champ J.J. Yeley and Shane Golobic dip and dive, exchanging the front spot numerous times, with Yeley spraying the concrete with soil as he flirted with the turn two concrete each time he exited turn two in his journey to victory lane.
Jason McDougal and Steve Buckwalter banged wheels, nerf bars, you name it, in their torrid battle for the lead for the majority of heat race seven. A wheel-to-wheel, slider fest raged on until McDougal slipped on the berm near the end. Buckwalter, of Royersford, Pa. took control and raced on to victory. Zach Daum walked away from a turn two flip during the heat.
When Norman, Oklahoma's Christopher Bell starts from the pole, it's trouble for pretty much everyone else. The 2013 USAC National Midget champ put it to the competition, winning heat race eight handily.
It was a tale of two different lines in heat nine between Chad Boat and Tyler Thomas. But, the difference in this one was the two repeatedly swapped the lead back and forth, exchanging slider after slider after slider before Collinsville, Oklahoma's Thomas rode the rim in turn four to nip Boat at the line for the victory.
Foresthill, California's Ryan Robinson controlled heat race 10 from the outset, leading every lap despite starting fifth. Brayton Lynch followed suit, advancing from eighth to a second-place finish, rapidly closing on Robinson during the final laps as Robinson biked it on the cushion and motored on.
Alex Bright of Collegeville, Pa. was the lone winner from the back row, taking heat race 11 from the ninth starting spot after engaging in a furious battle with Davey Ray in the early going. Bright became the night's high-point man heading into Thursday's finale.
Ricky Stenhouse, Jr. made a late rally to challenge Brady Bacon on the final lap, but Bacon, the two-time USAC AMSOIL National Sprint Car champ out of Broken Arrow, Okla. was perfect, leading the final nine laps to win heat race 12.
The "BC39" continues Thursday night, September 6 at IMS with the final events taking place, beginning with the eight qualifying races before moving into the main events and concluding with the 39-lap A-Main. The pits open at 8am, drivers meeting in the pagoda at 3pm and cars hitting the track at 5pm. All times Eastern.

Donny Schatz Does It Again at Willamette Speedway
LEBANON, OR – September 5, 2018 – Donny Schatz won for the second time in 48 hours, passing Logan Schuchart on Lap 14 to win his 19th World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series Feature of 2018 Wednesday at Willamette Speedway in the Series lone visit to Oregon. Schuchart, who passed Schatz on Lap 4 and led 10 laps, settled for second with David Gravel completing the podium.
Overcoming a mediocre Qualifying effort, Schatz was able to come from fourth to second in his Heat Race to earn a spot in the Sears Craftsman Dash. Schatz drew the one for the Dash and won it to earn the pole for the 30-Lap Feature, alongside David Gravel.
Schatz got the jump on the initial start and led the opening lap. Logan Schuchart and Shane Stewart fought their way to second and third, with Gravel getting shuffled back to fourth. Brent Marks came to a stop on Lap 2, bringing out the caution and setting up a double-file restart.
Schatz chose the bottom and stayed committed down there as Schuchart got a run to his outside. Schuchart used a big surge off the cushion of turn four to lead the fourth circuit.
Schuchart reached lapped traffic on Lap 9 and negotiated it well, but Schatz stayed right with him. Schatz continued to stalk Schuchart through traffic.
Schuchart followed the slower car of Willie Croft on the bottom into turn one on Lap 13 and then slipped up on the bottom off of turn four and that was all the nine-time Series Champion needed to steal the top spot back and lead Lap 14.
A long Green Flag run allowed Schatz to show his prowess in lapped traffic as he built a sizable advantage over Schuchart. Behind Schuchart a slew of cars were littered across the racing surface, waging war for third through sixth.
Ian Madsen brought out the Yellow Flag with 26 laps complete and four laps to run, giving Schuchart and company one last chance to get Schatz for the win. Schuchart followed Schatz into turn one on the bottom and tried to get a run off of turn four to no avail, as Schatz powered away and won by 1.804 seconds for the 19th time in 2018.
“I was a little evil early, I was trying to burn off the fuel and the more I did, the better I got. My car was really good, hats off to my guys, they are the ones that should be standing here,” Schatz said of his Tony Stewart Racing No.15 crew.
When asked about the long Green Flag run, Schatz said, “That’s what you live for when you are running second, or when you are leading. If you can get out front and you do the right things in lapped traffic, you know it.”
“There were a lot of grooves out there, a top, a bottom and a middle sometimes. Hats off to the track crew for providing an excellent race track,” Schatz, who also won at Willamette in 2016, said of the racing surface.
Schuchart settled for second and wasted no time complimenting Schatz. “Props to the 15 team, they do a great job every night and Donny drove a great race. Second-place is still pretty good and this Team Drydene, Shark Racing No.1S is really fast right now. I’m proud of where we are at,” Schuchart said with confidence.
After starting on the front row David Gravel fell as far back as sixth before finding speed on the top side of the racing surface to surge back to third. “We tried to run the bottom early and I went backwards so I had to move up and make some of that ground back up. It’s good to be on the podium, but when you start up front you want to get some wins. Hopefully we can keep this momentum going,” Gravel said next to his CJB Motorsports No.5 machine.
2014 Willamette winner Shane Stewart finished fourth with Sheldon Haudenschild rim-riding his way to fifth.
13th-starting Kyle Larson, in his 8th Outlaw start of the year, came forward to sixth with his brother-in-law Brad Sweet finishing seventh. Daryn Pittman, Joey Saldana, who set Quick Time to open the evening, and 20th-starting Rico Abreu completed the top-ten. Abreu’s efforts were good enough to garner KSE Hard Charger honors in his first visit to Willamette Speedway.
The World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series will return to California this weekend at Silver Dollar Speedway in Chico, CA with the running of the Gold Cup Race of Champions. Saturday’s Feature will pay $15,000 to win. Wednesday, September 12 the Outlaws stop at Placerville Speedway for the 49er Gold Rush Classic, which will pay $20,000 to win and $1,000 to take the Green. All Star Circuit of Champions to invade the ‘Speed Palace’ for historic Tuscarora 50 weekend
MAVTV Motorsports Network will be on hand to capture both days of Tuscarora weekend for future broadcast
BROWNSBURG, Ind. (September 5, 2018) - The Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions presented by Mobil 1 and the world-renown Pennsylvania Posse will face-off yet again in the heart of the Keystone State, but this time battling head-to-head for one of sprint car racing’s most sought-after prizes; the Tuscarora 50.
Awarding a grand prize equaling $51,000 in 2018, the 51st running of the Tuscarora 50 will takeover Port Royal Speedway headlines on Friday and Saturday, September 7 & 8, and will be complete with two, full programs. Friday’s Night Before The Tuscarora 50 main event will award a $5,000 top prize and will utilize a standard All Star Circuit of Champions format. The Saturday night finale, capped-off with a 50-lap main event awarding the coveted $51,000 payday, will feature a unique format, but will still award All Star championship points. Saturday’s total purse stretches to a staggering $106,000.
Lance Dewease is on a roll at Port Royal Speedway during All Star Circuit of Champions competition and will enter the weekend as a heavy favorite. Full-time All Star competitors, including recent Labor Day Classic champion and Texas native Aaron Reutzel, will attempt to end Dewease’s winning streak of five straight All Star victories at the ‘Speed Palace’ including the Keith Kauffman Classic in April, as well as the 2017 Tuscarora 50 and the Night Before The Tuscarora 50. The $50,000 winner’s share in 2017 was the richest payday in Port Royal Speedway history, that until the 2018 winner’s share was announced.
Shining on home dirt, Kunkletown’s Ryan Smith, who eventually finished second in the 2017 All Star championship standings, finished second during Tuscarora 50 main event action a year ago. Recently appointed wheelman for Destiny Motorsports, Brock Zearfoss, finished third, followed by Lucas Wolfe and the ‘Madman’ Kerry Madsen. There were 66 entrants signed-in for competition.
Ahead by a mere 14 markers in the current All Star driver championship standings, Clute, Texas’ Aaron Reutzel will lead the All Star charge into Central Pennsylvania on Friday and Saturday. The former ASCS national champion turned All Star owns eight victories on the season, accompanied by 19 top-five finishes in 37 feature starts. Incidentally, Reutzel’s most recent trip to victory lane occurred in the Keystone State, earning the $5,000 top prize during Thunder Cup competition at Grandview Speedway on Thursday, August 23.
With only 94 points separating the top three in the driver championship, the race for the title is far from over. Lemoore, California’s Carson Macedo will enter Port Royal Speedway’s gates second in the title chase, followed by six-time and defending Series champion, Chad Kemenah. Despite each driver trailing Reutzel in the win column, Macedo with four and Kemenah with two, the consistency is comparable. To date, Macedo and the Gaerte/Norman No. 3G entry have amassed 19 top-ten finishes, most recently earning a victory during the Dirt Classic Ohio finale at Attica Raceway Park on September 1. Kemenah, driver of the familiar Hunter Racing No. 10H, owns a Series-leading 21 top-five finishes and kicked-off the year by earning the All Star opener at Bubba Raceway Park on February 1.
Nashville’s Paul McMahan and High Point, North Carolina’s Dave Blaney currently sit third and fourth in the All Star driver championship, respectively, and own a combined total of three All Star Circuit of Champions victories on the year, McMahan leading the pair with two.
Port Royal Speedway in Port Royal, Pa., will open pit gates at 4 p.m. on Friday, September 7. The All Star drivers meeting, as well as hot laps, will share identical times on Friday and Saturday, September 7 & 8; 5:30 p.m. drivers meeting and 6:30 p.m. hot laps. LADIES NIGHT AT WALL STADIUM THIS SATURDAY (SEPT 8)
WALL TOWNSHIP, N.J. ~ Female fans of the All American Auto Group Racing Series stock car competition at Wall Stadium Speedway will be honored this Saturday night (Sept 8) as the shore speedway offers a discounted admission price for all ladies of just $10. All fans who attend Saturday night's racing program will also get to meet the female racing stars of the speedway in a special autograph session. Lady racers Nancy Riggleman and Theresa Collins from the Factory Stocks and Darianne McLaren, Nicole Razzano and Jennifer Schultz, all from the 4 Cylinder Stocks, are among the ladies expected to participate in the meet and greet gathering.
The Pete and Elda's Bar/Carmen's Pizzeria Modified stock cars will take center stage on the third mile paved oval as they compete in a 40 lap main event. Also seeing action will be the Center State Engineering Sportsman cars, the O'Shea's Auto Repair Factory Stocks, the Surfside Collision 4 Cylinder Stocks and the Green Flag Driving Experience Legend Cars all in 25-lap main events. As a bonus, several pit crew members will compete in a mechanic's race.
Grandstand seating will open at 5:00 p.m. and qualifying is set for 5:45 p.m. The evening’s main event action will follow around 7:00 p.m.
Recent winners Tyler Truex of Mayetta, Andrew Krause of Holmdel, Chas Okerson of Freehold and point leader Jimmy Blewett of Howell will lead the way in the Modified division with expected competition coming from Jackson's Steven Reed, Howell's Eric Mauriello, Kenny Van Wickle of Manasquan, Shaun Carrig of Little Falls and Jackson's Jason Treat, just to name a few.
Saturday’s schedule will see the competitor pit area open at 1:00 p.m. Regular practice will start at 3:00 p.m., while spectator seating will open at 5:00 p.m. Qualifying for the night’s program starts at 5:45 p.m. and main events will follow at 7:00 p.m.
Wall Stadium presents professional motorsports events on Saturdays and Sundays through October 6. Special events are also featured in the fall including the “Spooky Spectacular” in October and the season ending Turkey Derby on Friday, Saturday and Sunday of Thanksgiving weekend.

The Catskills Mountains of New York State will provide the backdrop for a spectacular Friday evening on Spetember 7th as the Accord Speedway presents it's third annual First Responders Night at the "Gem in the Catskills" facility. The plans have been in place for the past year as the First Responders is headed up by the great efforts of Jim Slinsky and the Ulster County Sheriff's Office K9 Team. An over the top presentation featuring music, bag pipes, 21 gun salute, narration, echoing bugles and a tremendous number of fire trucks and emergency equipment will capture the attention of a standing room only crowd expected in for the event. The show will be brought to a climactic conclusion with a fireworks/skyworks extravaganza from Santore's Famous Fireworks. The speedway events will begin with heat racing for the six divisions scheduled for the evening. Depending on time, a couple of the feature events may also take place as darkness looms in on the speedway. At that point in time an extended intermission period will pay tribute to all of the First Responders who work so diligently to keep our home security safe. The spirit of the salute to the First Responders event is just a small way to thank and honor them for the job and services they do as they deal with unimaginable circumstances each day they report for duty. They see first hand, death, destruction and place their lives on the line for the people they are serving to protect. For many of us, honoring our flag and our country remain sacred to our way of life and liberty.
Headed up by Jim Slinsky and the Ulster County Sheriff's Office K9 Team, many pieces of safety and response equipment will be brought onto the speedway in darkness and will create a tribute to our First Responders and our freedom. The organizers will hoist a 70 foot US Flag through the use of ladder trucks and at the designated moment all lights from the equipment will come on and put up an amazing display that will cover the speedway and the entire infield area. Santore's Famous Fireworks, as they did in June, will once again light up the skies above the speedway with their over the top fireworks extravaganza. Racing is on tap every Friday evening at Accord Speedway from April through September. Please make note of the new starting times: Pit Gates open at 5:00; Spectator Gates open at 5:30; Hot Laps begin at 7:00 and the racing begins at 7:30 PM. Admission for Adults $14.00; Seniors (65+) $12.00; Children $3.00 (11+ under) Indoor Seating $20.00; Family four pack special: 2 Adults + 2 Children and $20.00 in Accord Bucks for $44.00 (a savings of $10.00)
Special event shows do have an increase in admission.
The following Friday, September 14th, brings the fine folks from the Orange County Fair Speedway and Taylor Rental to the Accord Speedway with all divisions in action. The event will serve as the "Night of Champions" as all of the division champions will be named and interviewed in the WRWD Radio Victory Lane after the events are completed. The night will also serve as the Big Block Qualifier for the the annual Eastern States Weekend to be held at Orange County in October.
