MODIFIEDS AND TWIN LEGEND RACES HEADLINE AT WALL STADIUM THIS SATURDAY (AUG 4)
WALL TOWNSHIP, N.J. ~ The Pete and Elda's Bar/Carmen's Pizzeria Modified stock cars and the Green Flag Driving Experience Legend Cars will take center stage at Wall Stadium this Saturday night (Aug. 4) as they compete in headlining main events. The Modifieds will race in a 40-lapper while double duty action will be offered for the Legend Cars with Twin 25-lappers. The Center State Engineering Sportsman cars and the Surfside Collision 4 Cylinder Stocks will full out the All American Auto Group Racing Series card in 25-lap main events. Grandstand seating will open at 5:00 p.m. and qualifying is set for 5:45 p.m. The evening’s main event action will follow around 7:00 p.m.
This “Kids Sports Night” event will offer free admission to youngsters up to 17 years old when they wear their team sports uniform jersey or shirt to the track.
On the third mile high-banked paved oval defending Modified champion Jimmy Blewett of Howell will lead the way with expected competition coming from Andrew Krause of Holmdel, Steven Reed of Jackson, Derek Hopkinson of Toms River and Jackson's Jason Treat, just to name a few.
The Legend Cars will be led into their twin main events by local racers Nick and Jim Van Wickle of Edgewater Park, Peter Bruno of Little Silver and Roger Nickerson of Brick. Several outside invaders are also expected for the twin feature races.
Saturday’s schedule will see the competitor pit area open at 1:00 p.m. Regular practice will start at 3:00 p.m., while spectator seating will open at 5:00 p.m. Qualifying for the night’s program starts at 5:45 p.m. and main events will follow at 7:00 p.m.
Wall Stadium presents professional motorsports events on Saturdays and Sundays during the summer months. Special events are also featured in the fall including the “Spooky Spectacular” in October and the season ending Turkey Derby on Friday, Saturday and Sunday of Thanksgiving weekend. The speedway is located on Route 34 in Wall Township, N.J., just one mile north of Garden State Parkway exit 98 and Interstate 195 exit 35B. NATIONAL PARTS SUPPLY'S SCOUT NIGHT IS READY TO SETTLE INTO NEW EGYPT
SPEEDWAY ON SATURDAY AUGUST 4
New Egypt, NJ (July 31, 2018) - Scout Night, presented by National Parts
Supply, settles into New Egypt Speedway on Saturday, August 4. All scouts in
uniform will be admitted to the grandstand for free. On the track, the
Modifieds return to Saturday night action after a rainout on July 21 and a
scheduled evening off on July 28.
The chase for the 2018 Modified title at New Egypt Speedway is very tight
and probably will be not be decided until Modified Championship Night on
September 8. David VanHorn leads the 2017 champion Billy Pauch Jr. by a mere
four points. The top two will be joined by expected entrants John
McClelland, Danny Bouc, Brandon Grosso, Kevin Vaclavicek, Ryan Krachun, Ryan
Godown, JR Fulper, Davey Sammons, Rich Rutski and others. The three division
card will be rounded out by the Hammer Sportsman and Larry's Hot Rods &
Harley's Northeast Wingless Sprint Cars.
On Saturday, August 4, the pit gates unlock at 4:00 p.m. and the grandstand
ticket windows open at 5:00 p.m. Hot laps crank up at 6:00 p.m. with the
first green flag waving at 7:00 p.m. Admission to the grandstand is $20 for
adults, $18 for seniors 65 and older, $10 for teens 12-15, $10 for military
personal and their spouses with ID, and Kids 11 & under are FREE. Pit
admission is $30 with a New Egypt Speedway license and $40 with no license.
New Egypt Speedway is located on Route 539 just minutes from Six Flags Great
Adventure and the New Jersey Turnpike. A racy 7/16-mile D-shaped dirt
oval, New Egypt Speedway serves Garden State race fans with some of the best

Brent Marks Gets Second Career Outlaw Victory in Non-Stop Weedsport Feature
WEEDSPORT, NY – July 29, 2018 – Brent Marks led all 35 laps en route to his second career World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series Feature at Weedsport Speedway. Despite Marks lapping up to eighth in the non-stop Feature, it was far from easy as he fended off Sheldon Haudenschild and Jacob Allen who completed the podium.
Brent Marks won the Sears Craftsman Dash, earning the pole for the 35-lap event along with fellow Pennsylvania native Jacob Allen. Marks got the jump on the opening lap and paced the field down the backstretch as Allen fended off New York native Chuck Hebing, who had a 360ci engine under the hood, for second.
Marks reached lapped traffic within five laps around the slicked off 3/8th oval. Allen, in search of his first career Outlaw victory, closed in on Marks through the middle of the racing surface with 10 laps complete.
As lapped traffic intensified, Sheldon Haudenschild got around Hebing for third on Lap 12 and set his sights on the lead duo. Marks and Allen continued to negotiate traffic efficiently as Haudenschild attempted to close in.
By Lap 20, Marks was held up behind a pair of lapped cars racing for position allowing Allen and Haudenschild to close in.
Lap 23 had the Weedsport Speedway crowd on their feet, with Haudenschild pounding the cushion, Allen glued to the bottom and Marks trying to navigate traffic. Haudenschild got around Allen on Lap 24 on the cushion and chased Marks down the backstretch. Haudenschild ducked low in turn three and four, searching for a way by Marks, who stayed committed to the top. Marks powered his way around the Stenhouse Jr.-Marshall No.17 to remain out front.
Marks continued to lead and remained aggressive through traffic. Sheldon remained within striking distance, but Marks was flawless through traffic, collecting his second career victory.
“That was a lot of fun with the track being so technical, getting through turn one and two was so tricky. I can’t thank everyone who helps out with this team enough. Last time we were in Victory Lane it was just me and Jesse and now we’ve added Dallas. This is his first Outlaw win, so that’s pretty special for him,” a jubilated Marks said.
“We’ve been working hard this year and passing all the cars we have this year, it really helps in lapped traffic. I can’t believe I’m a two-time World of Outlaws winner,” Marks added with excitement.
Haudenschild was pleased with his second and talked about his attempt for the lead, “I got a run but I was so low on the backstretch, I couldn’t really do much into turn three.”
"I kind of had to regroup after I hit the wall in turn one. This Stenhouse Jr.-Marshall team has worked hard and we’ve got a lot of big races coming up that we’re looking forward to,” the 2017 World of Outlaws Rookie of the Year added.
Jacob Allen had high praise for his fellow statesman. “Brent was really good in traffic, he raced hard and ran good laps. This track is really slick and unique. I’m really happy with the night, but obviously I’m still looking for that first win,” Allen added with a smile.
Brad Sweet finished fourth with David Gravel completing the top five.
Donny Schatz crashed in Qualifying, forcing him to start last in his Heat Race. The nine-time Series Champion and Series Points Leader started 15th in the Feature and picked up KSE Hard Charger honors finishing sixth. Chuck Hebing finished an impressive seventh with his 360 motor and Ian Madsen was the last car on the lead lap in eighth.
The World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series returns to action next weekend with double Ironman 55 Features at Federated Auto Parts Raceway at I-55. Both Friday and Saturday at Pevely will pay $20,000 to win and $1000 just to take the Green. The Greatest Show on Dirt will return to the Empire State on October 6 to Fulton Speedway as a part of NAPA Super DIRT Week!

Sammy Swindell beats Eliason and Macedo at 34 Raceway for 27th career All Star victory
WEST BURLINGTON, Iowa (July 29, 2018) - Sammy Swindell is 62-years-old and still winning.
Exactly one year after earning his last Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions presented by Mobil 1 victory in West Lebanon, N.Y., “Slammin’” Sammy Swindell wins again with America’s Series, this time earning a $5,000 payday during action at 34 Raceway in West Burlington, Iowa. For Swindell, the All Star victory bumps his career total to 27 with the Series, forced to outduel Fresno, California’s Cory Eliason during the later stages of the 30-lap program to do so. The 34 Raceway victory was a first-ever for the Germantown, Tenn., native during All Star competition.
Cory Eliason held on to finish second with the All Stars to earn a first-ever podium finish with the Series, followed by Carson Macedo, Cale Conley, and Kerry Madsen.
“I think I’m the oldest person to ever win one of these races,” an elated Sammy Swindell said in victory lane, driver of the Thones Utility Construction/No. 59 sprint car. “We pulled this car out of the trailer tonight and didn’t touch a bolt on it. We won one now. We’ll work to improve from here.”
Sammy Swindell’s march to the front took patience and persistence. Starting from the outside of row two, Swindell completed the first eight circuits in the exact same position as he started. Traffic came into play quickly around the 3/8-mile, high banked oval which allowed Swindell to close the gap on the top three. Utilizing lapped cars, the former World of Outlaws champion was able to battle by Jackson and Knoxville winner, Kerry Madsen, to take the third spot officially on lap nine. Just one circuit later, the main event’s first caution appeared forcing the field to mold back together.
It was not until when caution flags reappeared that Swindell was able to make a bid for the second spot, ultimately driving by the familiar No. 7K of Cale Conley as the pair raced down the backstretch on lap 17. Halting Swindell’s obvious momentum in traffic, caution flags reappeared on lap 18, once again forcing the field to bunch back together.
Now on the tailtank of the Roth Motorsports entry of Cory Eliason, green flag conditions returned with Swindell now in hot pursuit of the top spot. The pair raced one-two for the next eight circuits in clear air, but traffic came into the picture soon thereafter. As Eliason reached the tail of the field to complete lap 26, Swindell made his move, actually peeking underneath the No. 83 as the pair battled into turn one. A drag race down the back straightaway resulted in Swindell’s favor, taking the lead officially with a slider between turns three and four on lap 27.
Although one last caution appeared with two circuits remaining setting up a green-white-checkered restart, Swindell was untouchable, sailing off to score the All Star victory in front of a packed-house by 1.25 seconds.
“We were kinda tight at the beginning, so as the laps continued to go down, the car was getting better,” Swindell continued. “We still have a few kinks that we need to work out.”
The Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions presented by Mobil 1 will enjoy a pair of off-weekends before returning to competition on Friday evening, August 17, at the Utica-Rome Speedway in Vernon, New York; the first of three consecutive events in the Empire State. Action will continue on Saturday evening, August 18, at the Orange County Fair Speedway in Middletown, followed by a stop at the Lebanon Valley Speedway in West Lebanon on Sunday, August 19. The trio of New York stops will open an August schedule that includes eight events across three states, four of which in Pennsylvania on August 23-26.

Bryan Hulbert - MASON CITY, Iowa (July 29, 2018) Drawing the No. 72 pill to start the night didn't stop Sam Hafertepe, Jr. at Mason City Motor Speedway as the Heidbreder Foundation No. 15h captured his fifth win of the 2018 season with the Lucas Oil American Sprint Car Series presented by Sawblade.com.
"I felt like we were pretty good," stated Sam. "I just felt like if we hit our marks and run a straight line around here, we could get in done and we did."
All in preparation for the Knoxville Nationals, the team has been doing several different things to the car with positive results.
"This was all test stuff that we've been trying for the past three to four weeks to get ready for Knoxville. We ran a different wing, different engine, just a lot of different things going on right now, so it feels really good to get the win and hopefully we can bring this momentum into Knoxville. I've never won at Knoxville and I feel like I'm due."
Drawing the pole for the 25 lap affair, the start would have to repeat as contact through the first two turns sent the Sawblade.com No. 28 spinning heavy damage to the front axle.
Underway with Hafertepe out running Chris Martin into the first turn, Hafertepe was set on cruise as the No. 44 held second over Skylar Gee. With multiple lines to choose from, the leaders raced top to bottom past the race's half-way point with Hafertepe gapping the field by a half straightaway.
Moving through some light slower traffic, the change in pace allowed Chris Martin to begin reeling in the No. 15h. Inching closer to Sam, the dynamic of the Global Ag No. 44 began to change. Losing the time he'd made up, Chris was suddenly under fire from Skylar Gee. Racing back and forth for the runner-up spot for a couple laps, the Strongs Crane Service No. 99 took over the position on Lap 16.
Racing to hold onto the third spot, Chris saw his night end abruptly as the car lurched violently into the wall through the fourth turn. Caused by a cut tire, Chris was okay.
Restarting with one lapped car between himself and second running Skylar Gee, the final eight laps again saw Sam race away from the field with Hafertepe winning by 2.999 seconds. Challenged by Wayne Johnson in the final laps, Skylar Gee held on for silver with Johnson in the show position after starting seventh. Blake Hahn crossed fourth with Matt Covington rounding out the top-five.
Getting out on top of a four-car race on the Lap 17 restart, Seth Bergman held onto sixth with Tasker Phillips in seventh. Moving up eight spots, Johnny Herrera was eighth with Harli White and Travis Rilat to make up the top-ten.
Up next for the Lucas Oil American Sprint Car Series presented by Sawblade.com is the 28th running of the 360 Knoxville Nationals presented by Great Southern Bank at Knoxville Raceway. BLEWETT (MODS), WOHL, BYRNE AND BOWERS (FACTORY STOCKS) EARN WALL WINS SATURDAY
WALL TOWNSHIP, N.J. ~ One of the largest crowds of the 2018 All American Auto Group Racing Series witnessed seven feature races at Wall Stadium Speedway Saturday night with Howell's Jimmy Blewett taking his eighth Modified win of the year. With three main events on the schedule for the Factory Stocks Beachwood's Elliot Wohl, Howell's Richie Byrne and John Bowers of Pt. Pleasant were all winners on Snap On Tools Night.
Blewett started deep in the field in the Pete and Elda's Bar/Carmen's Pizzeria Modified 40-lapper and immediately started his run to the front. An early race scramble then claimed Blewett who was forced to duck into the pit area for repairs. Derek Hopkinson of Toms River and Manasquan's Kenny Van Wickle then wrestled for the top spot before Blewett completed his run to the front and took over the top spot on lap eight. Blewett then led the rest of the way but was forced to fight off several attacks from Hopkinson. Howell's Eric Mauriello and Steven Reed and Jason Treat, both of Jackson, wrapped up the top five.
“Tonight was for everyone who says we can't pass on the outside,” Blewett said after the race. “Derek (Hopkinson) has a team on a budget and they do a great job. He gave me a lot of pressure.”
Elliot Wohl came from deep in the field to win the first of three 25-lappers for the O'Shea's Auto Repair Factory Stocks. He finally powered to the top spot for good on lap 21 and was chased across the finish line by point leader Mike Montano of Freeport, N.Y., Howell's Steve West, Byrne and Tom Rajkowski of Fords.
After a season of bad fortunes third generation driver Byrne also passed a lot of cars to grab his victory in the second Factory Stock feature. Byrne took the lead on lap seven and was chased across the line by Manchester's Scott Riggleman, Wohl, Montano and West.
Bowers jumped to the lead early and never looked back to claim his first win on five years in the Factory Stock nightcap. Wohl, Riggleman, Ron Booth of Eatontown and Montano were second through fifth in this one.
Kyle Scisco of Jackson raced to his first victory of the year in the 25-lap Center State Engineering Sportsman feature event. Louie Keraitis of Toms River led early before spinning from the top spot near halfway. Scisco then raced into the lead and on to the win followed by a top five of Jake Nelke of Manahawkin, Farmingdale's John McCormick, Mike Brennan of Morristown and Jackson's Carsten DiGiantomasso.
Shannon Mongeau of Manchester beat his uncle Joe Mongeau of Brick to the finish line after a torrid battle to win the Mike's Performance Center Limited Late Model 25-lap main event. Holmdel's Dom Casola, Mike Tillett of Bayville and Jackson's Greg Gastelu wrapped up the top five.
Nick Van Wickle of Edgewater Park won his third Green Flag Driving Experience Legend Cars 25-lapper Saturday night over Chris Gall of Brick and Peter Bruno of Little Silver.
The All American Auto Group Racing Series continues this Saturday evening (Aug. 4) on “Kids Sports Night” where any child up to 17 years old wearing their youth sports jersey or shirt will be admitted free of charge. Modified, Sportsman and Surfside Collision 4 Cylinder Stocks competitors are all slated for main event action, while the Legend Cars will race in twin features. Grandstands open at 5:00 p.m., with qualifying set for 5:45 p.m. and feature race action set for 7:00 p.m.
