MODIFIED AND TRIPLE FACTORY STOCK RACES AT WALL STADIUM THIS SATURDAY (JULY 28)
WALL TOWNSHIP, N.J. ~ Auto racing fans can look forward to a seven feature race program slated for this Saturday (July 28) at Wall Stadium Speedway with a Modified 40-lapper and three Factory Stock 25-lappers headlining All American Auto Group Racing Series action. Spectator seating will open at 5:00 p.m., with qualifying slated for 5:45 p.m. Main event action will follow at around 7:00 p.m.
It will be Snap On Tools Night with lots of giveaways from the well-known automotive tool company and this “Carnival Night” themed event will also feature free carnival style games for kids on the midway area.
On the famous high banked third mile paved oval seven feature races will be presented with the Pete and Elda's Bar/Carmen's Pizzeria Modifieds, Center State Engineering Sportsman cars, the O'Shea's Auto Repair Factory Stocks, the Mike's Performance Center Limited Late Models and the Green Flag Driving Experience Legend Car all competing.
Top drivers in the Modified division expected to compete in the 40-lap race include Howell's Jimmy Blewett, Andrew Krause of Holmdel, Jackson's Steven Reed and Jason Treat, Chas Okerson of Freehold and Toms River's Derek Hopkinson.
Top racers in the Factory Stock triple 25's are expected to include point leader Mike Montano of Freeport, N.Y., former champ Scott Riggleman of Manchester and Beachwood's Elliot Wohl. The Sportsman race is expected to see former champion Kevin Davison and Eric Lane, both of Howell, lead the way with plenty of competition from young guns Eddie McCarthy of Pt. Pleasant and brothers Jarret and Carsten DiGiantomasso, both of Jackson, just to name a few.
The grandstand midway will be festive during the “Carnival Night” event as plenty of games of chance for both young and old will be offered with prizes going to the winners.
Saturday’s schedule will see the competitor pit area open at 1:00 p.m. Regular practice will start at 3:00 p.m., while spectator seating will open at 5:00 p.m. Qualifying will then begin at 5:45 p.m. and feature race action for all divisions is slated for 7:00 p.m.
Wall Stadium Speedway is located on Route 34 in Wall Township, N.J., just one mile north of Garden State Parkway exit 98 and Interstate 195 exit 35B. COURTNEY CHALKS UP ISW ROUND 2 AT THE BURG

Lawrenceburg, Indiana.....July 22, 2018 - Tyler Courtney withstood racelong challenges to his throne throughout Sunday's second round NOS Energy Drink "Indiana Sprint Week" feature at Lawrenceburg Speedway as the Indianapolis, Indiana native went on to score his series-leading sixth win of the year and his second career in ISW.
On paper, Courtney's two career ISW victories appear to be in stark contrast with each other. The one in 2016 at Gas City I-69 Speedway was his first USAC AMSOIL National Sprint Car win of his career. Courtney spun on the opening lap, restarted from the tail in 24th and drove to an unexpected and spectacular victory.
Sunday night at "The Burg," a glance at the stats show that Courtney started from the front row and led all 30 laps. Some say stats don't lie, but sometimes, yeah, they don't actually tell the whole story.
"I think the box score is going to make it look a lot easier than it really was tonight," Courtney pointed out. "I would say tonight was definitely a lot tougher (than the 2016 win). At the last one, I was committed to the bottom and I wasn't going anywhere else. If it didn't work, it didn't work. Tonight, I felt like I had to earn it a lot more than my last Sprint Week win, but they're never easy. I'm not going to say that one was too easy. After all, I had to drive by a guy by the name of Bryan Clauson to do that."
On the initial green, second-starting Courtney and pole sitter Boespflug went nerf bar to nerf bar for the bulk of the first two circuits, with Courtney officially pinning the tail on the first lap by a wheel before trouble ensued on the second lap.
Bloomington 2016 ISW winner Brent Beauchamp flipped over once in turn four after Carson Short got sideways in front of him and Thomas Meseraull clipped the front end of Beauchamp's ride. Beauchamp's crew made repairs in time for him to restart while Meseraull's night was finished.
Following the restart, Dave Darland became an instant challenger, pulling off a two-for-one deal by ripping past Shane Cottle and Boespflug to move from fourth to second on the totem pole in one move on the bottom of turn three. The USAC Triple Crown champ was eager to become the successor, dipping below Courtney on both ends of the racetrack to no avail as Courtney was able to muster enough mustard around the outside to maintain the advantage.
Courtney, meanwhile, wasn't merely satisfied with standing pat. Instead, he was searching, searching, high-low-bottom, whatever he felt could do to stay a step ahead to maintain possession of the coveted lead.
And how he did. Reigning Lawrenceburg ISW winner C.J. Leary was a sparkplug in the third and final frame, rolling by Darland on the inside of the third turn for third, then around the outside, around the outside of Cottle two laps later by the mid-point of the back straightaway. With a mere six to go, Leary began peeking a nose under and above Courtney, which got his attention and the proverbial book of mental notes out for the race to the checkered.
"We had a really good car to start the race and I think we faded a little bit there," Courtney admitted. "I was just kind of running the wrong lines. I felt like I had a good enough car there and could cruise for a little while, but I kept hearing somebody get closer and closer. Then, he finally made a move on me and I got to kind of see what he was doing, so I could change my line up and try to protect as good as possible."
On the 26th lap, Leary found a big wave to ride wheel-to-wheel to the inside of Courtney entering turn one. Leary let the car ride out at the exit of two, leaving a scant amount of room for Courtney to thread the needle between Leary's right-side tires and the concrete. Yet, Courtney stood his ground and regained the upper hand for the meantime as the relentless Leary threw the kitchen sink, the kit and even the kaboodle at him, sliding across Courtney's nose on lap 26 and 27, but each time, Courtney naysayed emphatically, countering back to the lead each time.
"There for a while, I think it was more of a protective line," Courtney recalled. "Then, I figured out how to run it harder so it could become more of a line that I wanted to run. You never want to admit you're protecting, but you got to do everything you can to win these races. It was tough, but we don't do this because it's easy. If it was easy, anyone could do it. Races like that are why we keep doing this. You got to dig down deep and it brings out the competitor in us that we all have and the reason why we do this sport."

Following a red flag on the white flag lap that involved Cottle and Justin Grant colliding into the turn one wall and Isaac Chapple getting upside down, a green-white-checkered situation was at hand, pitting Leary right on Courtney's tail for the restart. Leary attempted a little mind game, tapping the back-bumper of Courtney under caution to give him a little reminder that he had company.
"I knew what he was trying to do," Courtney said. "We're professionals. We're hired to do what we do. But you got to keep those things out of your head. You got to do your job. I knew I was going to have to hit the bottom of one and two on the restart to make sure that was the only way they were going to get around me. I did my job there on the restart to protect myself and not let anybody slide me."
When the green flag fell, Courtney minded his P's and Q's, sprinting away to a healthy lead while Leary ran roughshod all the way up to the turn two wall, ultimately dropping to fifth at the end as Kevin Thomas, Jr. went on by for second.
This one would be Courtney's for the sixth time this season with the series, already equaling Kevin Thomas, Jr.'s series-leading six wins of 2017. Thomas was second ahead of Brady Bacon, Chris Windom and Leary.
Bacon remains the ISW point leader with a seven point leader over Windom, Courtney, Darland and Leary.

Aaron Reutzel sweeps I-79 Summer Shootout with victory at Pittsburgh
PITTSBURGH, Pa. (July 21, 2018) - For the fourth time in five events, Aaron Reutzel earned his way to Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions presented by Mobil 1 victory lane, this time by taming “Dirt’s Monster Half-Mile” at Pittsburgh’s Pennsylvania Motor Speedway (PPMS) during the second and final leg of the 2018 I-79 Summer Shootout.
For Reutzel, his evening in Western Pennsylvania was nearly flawless, not only leading all 25 laps of the All Star main event, but also kicking-off the evening with the fastest time during qualifying time trials, as well as earning an impressive heat race win. The victory, Reutzel’s seventh of the 2018 All Star Circuit of Champions season, concluded a model weekend for the Clute, Texas, native that also included a victory on Friday night at Eriez Speedway. Reutzel is now the owner of two perfect weekends in 2018, actually winning back-to-back events at Plymouth (Ind.) Speedway and Dirt Oval (Ill.) at Route 66 on June 29 & 30.
“We are doing one heck of a job right now,” Aaron Reutzel explained in victory lane, driver of the Baughman-Reutzel Motorsports/Folkens Bros. Trucking/Hollywood Blasting & Coating/No. 87 sprint car. “Our cars have been fantastic, as well as holding together. When nights go as smooth as this, you can’t ask for much more.”
After finishing second during the evening’s dash, his only defeat at PPMS, Aaron Reutzel lined up on the outside of row one for the start of the 25-lap main event. Although flawless for most of the program, immediately gaining the lead after the initial start, Reutzel did encounter a few hazards, mostly in the form of lapped traffic which nearly cost Reutzel his lead. Reutzel’s first, and perhaps his most challenging situation during the 25-lapper occurred on lap 8 when the driver of the Baughman-Reutzel Motorsports entry nearly made contact with a lapped car twice while trying to work around him.
Although unable to keep up with Reutzel for the first few circuits, Carson Macedo, who started from the pole position by way of dash victory, was able to chase down Reutzel as the pair encountered lapped traffic. Reutzel’s near-mishap was just what Macedo needed, using his momentum to pull even with the Texan as the duo battled through turns one and two on lap 10. Luckily for Reutzel, the potential lead change was negated after caution flags flew for a slowing Tyler Esh.
After the feature’s first and only caution appeared, action resumed with Reutzel still in command of the field over Macedo and Cole Duncan. Periods of heavy traffic came into play once again with less than ten circuits remaining thus allowing Macedo to close the gap once more. Although Macedo made a tremendous effort to track down Reutzel, the former ASCS national champion was just as strong, if not stronger in traffic.
“The top of the speedway was pretty dominant tonight. You were able to carry a lot of momentum up there,” Carson Macedo explained. “I kept trying to get closer in traffic, but (Aaron Reutzel) was really good, too. He made good, consistent laps.”
“There were a couple of guys out there that made things tricky; bottom to top then back to the bottom,” Reutzel said about traffic. “They were making me a little nervous. I really didn’t know which way to go, but luckily we got through them without getting into any trouble.”
Up next on the calendar, the Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions presented by Mobil 1 will conclude the month of July with a four-pack of events across the Midwest beginning with action at Angell Park Speedway in Sun Prairie, Wis., on Thursday, July 26. The four-day, three-state trek will continue at Jackson (Minn.) Motorplex on Friday, July 27, followed by a two-day stop in Iowa where Tony Stewart’s All Stars will invade the world-famous Knoxville Raceway on Saturday, July 28, followed by a stop at 34 Raceway on Sunday, July 29.

Sammy Swindell Wires ASCS Mid-South At Riverside International Speedway
Bryan Hulbert - WEST MEMPHIS, Ark. (July 21, 2018) Returning to the famed Riverside International Speedway on Saturday night, local racing legend Sammy Swindell led start to finish for the night's $2,000 prize with the ASCS Mid-South Region.
Wheeling the A.G. Rains owned No. 3 to Victory Lane, Swindell's win is his third overall with the ASCS Mid-South Region and fifth triumph on the season.
With as much as a straightaway on the field at times, a caution working the white flag lap still wasn't enough to give anyone a shot at the wily veteran.
Moving to second on Lap 11, Howard Moore would hold onto the silver position despite the repeated attempts by Derek Hagar who would have the settle for the bronze. Dale Howard in fourth was trailed by Ernie Ainsworth to round out the top-five. Ainsworth was also the night's Stealth Recovery Hard Charger.
Tim Crawley grabbed sixth with Justin Webb in seventh. Brandon Hinkle, Kevin Hinkle, and Rick Kahler made the top-ten.
A couple notes from the night, all driver draw fees were paid by Justin Webb and Southern Coatings. Giving back to the community, Ronnie Pitts Motorsports and Tim Crawley originally planned to raffle off two Backpacks with School Supplies at Saturday's race. With support from across the country, a total of 65 Backpacks were given away at Riverside.
The next event for the ASCS Mid-South Region is Saturday, July 28 with the American Bank of Oklahoma ASCS Red River Region presented by Smiley's Racing Products at I-30 Speedway in Little Rock, Ark.

Promoters Randy and Denise Smith put forth a valiant effort on Saturday to try get their tenth show of the season in the history books. Unfortunately, Mother Nature had her own agenda as heavy rains pounded the Pocono Mountains and the Hamlin Speedway forcing a shutdown after six features had been completed. The good news was the three postponed features from a week ago were completed along with three events from this evening's race card. The four features that were postponed will be added as time permits in the Hamlin schedule. The Smith Family would like to thank the loyal fans who came out to the speedway for the racing action and the race teams, especially the Chad Wheeler Excavating 600 Sprint teams who helped keep the racing action until safety conditions forced the teams to the pit area. Hamlin Speedway Promoter Randy Smith had the 1/5th mile clay oval in great condition despite the crazy weather that has hit the Pocono area this season.
Make-up features were the first course of action on Saturday night and Jeff Hineline was precise in carving out his first win of the season when he decided to go low when Jasper Ziegafuse went high to lead the last few laps in the held-over Hampton RV & Trailer Sales Stage One Modifed feature run. The Super Slinger feature from a week ago found Greg Zellman with a quick hot rod as he wired the field for his first feature win of the season. In the final make-up event, "Duece" Glenn Macomber was all business as he took the lead at the drop of the green flag and led all of the way to record his fourth win of the 2018 season. In the regularly scheduled events, "The Zack Attack" Zack Bealer was spot on in his Russ Thornton owned racer as wired the field to score his first win of the season in the Chad Wheeler Excavating Wingless 600 Sprint headliner. The JPA Masonry Rookie 600 Sprint division found "The Taylor Tornado" Zack Weisenfluh with the hot hand as he drove away from the field to score his first win in 2018. "The Branchburg Bandit" John Comandini celebrated his return to racing in 2018 with his first win since his return in the Hampton RV & Trailer Sales Stage One Modified nightcap. XCel Chassis Race cars were on hand testing the waters in some exhibition runs as they prepare to tackle the Hamlin Speedway on August 4th with a Tour event.
In the Hampton RV & Trailer Sales Stage One Modified run, "The J-Man" Jasper Ziegafuse took the lead at the drop of the green flag in a car he took over one week ago from John Bachetti Sr. Ziegafuse was quick but Jeff Hineline stayed with him all of the way. Ziegafuse came upon slower cars on lap-14 and decided to take the high side while Hineline quickly drove to the baseline to come out of turn two with the lead. Ziegafuse attempted to take the spot back but Hineline held him off and Ziegafuse now had Joel Smith knocking at his door. Hineline took the win with Ziegafuse in the runner-up role and Smith third. Adam Buchel in fourth and John Comandini completed the top five. Cody Motto, Evan Civick and newcomer Tommy Hildebrandt followed.
The 270 Sprint feature found Glenn Macomber at the drop of the green flag and he would check out on the field early on and would cruise to his fourth victory of the season. Alex Reinsmith would follow in second place with Kyle Ferrucci, Jenna Schostkewitz and newcomer Jacob Eby completing the field.
The Super Slingshot feature event found Greg Zellman with a front row start and he would set a torrid pace through the entire twenty lap event to claim his first win of the season at Hamlin. Dale Kober raced to second with Alan Kober third, Roger Collins fourth, Mark Exeter Fifth and David Guest in sixth.
Zack Weisenfluh put on a great show as he blitzed the speedway with some 12.7 second lap times in the JPA Masonry Rookie 600 Wingless Sprint event. Weisenfluh broke away from the field early and at one time held a near straightaway lead on the field. Coming up on slower traffic by mid-point, Wisenfluh eased his way through the traffic allowing Dennis Chamberlain and Noah Zielinski to close the gap. The race belonged to Weisenfluh as he picked up his first win of the season. Chamberlain, Noah Zielinski, Ryan Lacoe and Cory Zielinski completed the top five. Matt Zielinski, Glenn Macomber, in his first 600 ride, and Carmen Leggio Sr completed the field running at the finish.
Zack Bealer took the lead at the start of the headliner Chad Wheeler Excavating 600 Sprint event. Bealer was able to turn some 12.4 second laps early on but had the returning James Morris and Mick D'Agostino turning times just as quick. A spin by Joseph Smith past the midway point of the event brought the field back together for a restart. On the restart Bealer held tough and was able to hold off a bushel of talent behind him to score his first win of the season. Morris, who was making his first appearance of the season, was second in a great return to Hamlin and D'Agostino was third. Cody Smith and Joel Smith completed the top five. Heading up the second five was Duane White, with Pat Bealer, Tyler Lindsay, Mack Brink and Jason Rochelle following.
John Comandini blasted out of the gate in the second Hampton RV & Trailer Sales Stage One Modified finale. Joel Smith was quick to follow and a couple of laps later Anthony Recchio joined the fierce battle. The three cars moved out into their own zone as they left the field in their wake. Comandini was on the money and try as he may Joel Smith couldn't find the traction to make a move on the New Jersey driver. Comandini would earn his first win of the season with Joel Smith second, Recchio third in a great run, Jasper Ziegafuse fourth and Jeff Hineline completing the top five. Newcomer Jacob Nemeth headed up the second six with Amanda Buchel, Tanner VanDoren, Evan Civick, Joel Price and Tommy Hildebrandt completing the field
PEARL JAMS:
The hotly contested evening of racing entertainment began on time and the staff kept moving the program along swiftly and the race teams helped in keeping the speedway race worthy. Kudos to the Smith Family for refusing to yield to the weather that has plagued the number of events completed at the speedway in 2018.
The PA System was in fine working order thanks to some intense work performed by Randy Smith.
The Junior Slingshot heats were won by James Benz and Kasey Hufcut. Ryan Lacoe captured the lone heat win in JPA Masonry Rookie Wingless 600 Sprints. The 600 Sprints ran off two heats with Cody Smith and the returning Billy Koch claiming wins. CJ Fritz and the returning Danny Buccafusca captured heat wins in the All Star Slingshots.
Newcomers and returnees who made their way to the speedway last night included Danny Buccafusca and Mason Pittenger in the All Star Slingshots. Pittenger recently purchased the former John Rooks #28 race car. Amber Baccaglini and RJ Sherman made their first Junior Slingshot starts. James Morris and Macy Litchauer joined the 600 Sprints. Robbie Hocker, Justin Mills, Damon Paul and Joey Amantea all returned to action in the 600 Sprints. Jacob Eby was a newcomer for the 270 Sprints. Tommy Hildebrandt made his debut in of Tom Motto's race cars. Tommy is a fourth generation driver who is following in the footsteps of his great grandfather George Sr, grandson of George Jr and the son of current sportsman driver Kenny. Jacob Nemeth who also steered the second Motto car earlier in the season recently purchased a Stage One Modified of the Vreeland Family and the car is now the Nemeth number 78.
The Excel Modified brought four cars to test and tune for their Tour event on August 4th. Testing were Hunter Diehl and Doug Borger from Kunkletown, Kevin Van Valkenburg from Wayne, New Jersey and Travis Fichter from Lehighton. The cars looked fast and the Tour event should be a event for the speedway.
Current Hamlin driver Mick D'Agostino captured his sixth win of the season on Friday night at the Accord Speedway and is leading in the points battle.

The next event on the Hamlin Speedway schedule is set for July 28th when all Divisions will be in action on the 1/5th mile clay cushioned oval. The event will also mark the second appearance of the NASCAR Crew Challenge when the crewmen have the opportunity to buckle in to a race car and go for the bragging rights in the NASCAR Garage.
