BIG DIAMOND SPRINT GOES TO BIASI
Pottsville, PA........Joey Biasi of Mary D, Pa. won Friday night's 25-lap USAC East Coast Sprint race at Big Diamond Speedway. He passed Steven Drevicki on lap 12 and led the rest of the way to beat Drevicki, Trevor Kobylarz, Ryan Godown and Chandler Leiby. The series now heads for Saturday's race at Path Valley Speedway in Spring Run, Pa.

Lance Dewease Becomes Winningest Driver in Williams Grove History with World of Outlaws Triumph on Night One of Summer Nationals
MECHANICSBURG, PA – July 20, 2018 – Lance Dewease got better with each restart and passed Donny Schatz on Lap 20 to win his 91st career Feature at Williams Grove Speedway and 14th World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series triumph. Schatz settled for second with Brian Montieth completing the podium.
Lucas Wolfe won the Sears Craftsman Dash, earning the pole for the 25-Lap Feature, but it was fellow front row starter, Donny Schatz that got the jump on the initial start to lead the opening lap.
Ian Madsen brought out the first caution of the evening on Lap 3. Lance Dewease, who started fourth, used the restart to move into second by Wolfe. Greg Hodnett moved by Wolfe into third a lap later.
Dewease closed in on Schatz as the duo established themselves as the class of the field. Schatz negotiated lapped traffic with ease, before a caution for Sheldon Haudenschild on Lap 16 bunched the field together.
Schatz cleared Dewease on the following double-file restart, but a caution for Jim Siegel set up a single-file restart. Dewease took a look underneath Schatz for the top spot, but couldn’t make it stick. A lap later Jacob Allen went up in smoke, setting up another double-file restart.
Once again, Schatz kept Dewease at bay on the restart. One lap later, Trey Starks was backwards, setting up the final restart with seven laps remaining.
This time, Dewease stayed right Schatz. Dewease followed Schatz on the top for a lap before making his move with a slide job in turn one to lead down the backstretch to the delight of the large Williams Grove Speedway crowd.
Dewease extended the lead and went on to win by 1.201 seconds for his 14th career Outlaw win and to become the winningest driver in Williams Grove history.
“It just feels great to be in Victory Lane and to beat Donny Schatz, he’s one of the best racers to ever drive these cars and he races you as clean as anybody. I hope my pass on him was as clean as he races all of us,” Dewease said in Victory Lane, deflecting the attention away from his record-breaking win at the facility. Dewease acknowledged his great car owners and teams that have helped him to get to this point in his career, including his current team which is assembled with 3 Hall of Famers – himself, Car Owner Don Kreitz, Jr. and Crew Chief Davey Brown.
“Every start I got a little better off of four and I finally got a big run at him,” Dewease said of his winning pass on Schatz. “For all of you fans that come out and support us every week, this is for you,” Dewease added to a chorus of “Posse” chants from the local faithful.
“If you come around here and race with Lance for the win, you’re doing something right. No excuses, he beat us,” Schatz said to track announcer Bruce Ellis. “You do the best you can and tonight was second. It was still a good night for us.”
Brian Montieth finished third and was in good spirits, “We got going a little better at the end, my guys gave me a great car. Hats off to them, we wrecked a car last week and had to build a new one and it paid off.”
Hodnett finished fourth with 11th-starting Logan Schuchart completing the top five.
Wolfe finished sixth with Outlaw Regulars 15th-starting David Gravel, Brad Sweet, Daryn Pittman and Shane Stewart completing the top ten. Aaron Reutzel passes Cole Duncan late for All Star victory at Eriez Speedway
ERIE, Pa. (July 20, 2018) - Lockbourne, Ohio’s Cole Duncan was just four circuits away from claiming a second consecutive Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions presented by Mobil 1 victory at Eriez Speedway on Friday night when Clute, Texas’ Aaron Reutzel stepped-up and stole the show. Utilizing lapped traffic during the closing circuits of the 30-lapper, Reutzel, who started fourth on the feature grid, was able to drive underneath Duncan at the exit of turn two on lap 27, ultimately ending a high paced, nose-to-tail chase around Eriez Speedway.
Still well in command of the All Star Circuit of Champions’ season win list, the I-79 Summer Shootout victory increased Reutzel’s win total to six on the year with all six occurring at different facilities. In addition, Reutzel became the fifth different driver in five All Star Circuit of Champions starts to earn a trip to Eriez Speedway victory lane.
The “Wild Child” Jac Haudenschild crossed under the final checkers just behind Duncan and Reutzel, followed by Dave Blaney and Tim Shaffer.
“For the most part, we were pretty equal tonight,” Aaron Reutzel said of Cole Duncan. “It was going to take lapped traffic for me to get around him. It just played out perfect for us. It was one of those nights where we were better off running second.”
Jumping to third after the initial green, Reutzel’s chase for the top spot commenced with just a few laps recorded, actually sneaking around Tyler Esh to take the second spot officially on lap two. Showing signs of potential early, Reutzel’s first, official bid for the top spot occurred on lap six, utilizing a slide job through turns three and four to get by Cole Duncan. Unfortunately for Reutzel, the pass was negated due to a caution just as the leaders were about to cross by the flagstand.
In clean air, Duncan was dominant, keeping a safe distance between himself and the field for the first 14 circuits, especially after caution flags reappeared on lap 11 clearing the track ahead of him. By lap 21, traffic started to become an obvious factor allowing Reutzel to cut down on Duncan’s advantage. The pair raced nearly nose-to-tail for the next six circuits before Reutzel made his winning move, capitalizing on Duncan’s failed attempt to maneuver around slower cars as the duo battled off of turn two on lap 27.
From that point forward, it was all Aaron Reutzel at the front of the field, eventually driving away from his fellow frontrunners during the final three circuits to earn a trip to the frontstretch victory lane.
The All Star Circuit of Champions will continue I-79 Summer Shootout weekend with a Saturday night visit to “Dirt’s Monster Half-Mile.”
Pittsburgh’s Pennsylvania Motor Speedway (PPMS), located just minutes from downtown Pittsburgh, will host Tony Stewart’s All Stars on just one occasion in 2018; the final Western Pennsylvania visit for the Series this season. Incidentally, All Star Circuit of Champions owner, Tony Stewart, earned the top prize at PPMS one year ago, claiming the $5,000 payday over Lemoore, California’s Carson Macedo and 1881 Racing’s Lee Jacobs on Monday, July 24.
Pittsburgh’s Pennsylvania Motor Speedway will allow pit access beginning at 12 p.m. A mandatory All Star drivers meeting will take shape at 6 p.m., followed by hot laps at 6:40 p.m. Those seeking additional news and notes should visit PPMS live on the Web at www.ppms.com.

BACON DODGES THE PLYMOUTH RAIN TO WIN ISW OPENER

Plymouth, Indiana..... July 20, 2018 - Brady Bacon actually had multiple races to contend with at Friday night's NOS Energy Drink "Indiana Sprint Week" opener at Plymouth Speedway.
First, there was the race against the persistent rain that doused the track's surface with a plethora of moisture and remained a looming threat throughout the feature event.
Secondly, the 30-lap affair consisted of two battles within one: one for the race lead and one he wasn't even aware of until he had already sewn up his third career ISW victory in his Brady Bacon Racing/Elliott's Custom Trailers & Carts - Tony Elliott Foundation/Triple X/Rider Chevy.
"We actually had a tire going down at the end," Bacon said. "It had a hole in it, but that actually helped me a little on the restart. I didn't know I had a hole in the tire until (the crew) told me after the race."
Urgency was at the forefront of matters on this night, but Bacon wasn't sweating it. It was already in the Broken Arrow, Oklahoma driver's playbook regardless of the weather.
"I was trying to go as fast as I could," Bacon said. "I thought we had a decent window there. We got pushed off pretty quickly and the track didn't take long to work in. You try to get to the front as fast as you can always because you never know when a yellow's going to fall or when the track's going to change."
At the start of the 30-lapper, outside front row starter Chase Stockon raced to the lead outside pole sitter Isaac Chapple following a side-by-side battle into turns one and two.
Chapple instantly fought back on the following lap, driving to the inside of Stockon off the exit of two before Stockon stuck the point entering turn three where he paced the field for the entirety of the first half.
By the 15th circuit, Bacon had been making substantial gains a lane higher than Stockon. Stockon managed to fend off the Bacon charge by a wheel at the line to lead the lap. Stockon hurried into turn one, sliding up in front of Bacon. Bacon hunkered down underneath Stockon's lost momentum, snaring the lead for himself on the 16th lap.
"We were good through the middle in the heat race, but I wasn't sure it was going to come in during the feature," Bacon admitted. "It was packed down so hard and it was slicker than I thought it was going to be. Finally, it got worked in enough, so I opened my entry into (turn) one and was slowing down and hitting the bottom coming off and it was getting hard to do that. He kind of slipped up enough for me to get underneath him and stay clear of him."
Bacon made like a tree and got out of there as he stretched out his lead over Stockon. On the 21st lap, Chris Windom became a player in the game as he slipped past Stockon for second and went hunting after Bacon entering lapped traffic. Windom advanced on Bacon to pull within a couple car lengths from the lead. Bacon tussled with the lapped cars of Matt Westfall and Shane Cottle for a time before clearing the airway on lap 23.
The feature's lone yellow flag flew with six to go when 2015 ISW champ Robert Ballou was turned around on the back straightaway while running ninth.

On the lap 25 restart, wide open spaces on the highway lie ahead for Bacon with traffic not playing a role in how this one would be decided. Bacon ran the middle between turns three and four and the bottom of turns one and two with Windom on the scent a few car lengths back. Though Windom appeared to cut the interval down on the entry into the corner, Bacon always was able to launch off the exits to stretch it out time and time again.
Ultimately, Bacon would be unbeatable down the stretch as he defeated Windom by seven tenths of a second. Dave Darland ran third ahead of Justin Grant and KSE Racing Products/B & W Auto Mart Hard Charger Tyler Courtney, who blitzed from 12th to a 5th place finish.

Accord Speedway Promoters Gary and Donna Palmer completed their twelfth Friday night show of the season last evening and what a show it was. The eight division event found two new winners emerging during the evening while some familiar names were again at the top of their game to come home with a victory in their respective divisions. The joy of making a trip to the WRWD Radio Victory Lane is a highlight for each driver who has done his or her homework to enjoy the sweet celebration that follows. The weather fully cooperated and the enthusiastic crowd came out to the speedway to enjoy a superb evening of speed. The evening was sponsored by the good folks at Williams Lumber who have eight locations in the greater Hudson Valley of New York and one location in Connecticut. They also brought along one of their lumber wagons for pacing the field and an abundant array of shirts, hats and carry-all bags for the fans. The Williams Lumber website is: www.williamslumber.com
When the final tallies were recorded, "Jammin Jimmy" Wells mounted a "spree to get three" as he overcame a huge lead by New Jersey star Steve Davis to go on and capture his third win of the season at Accord in the Insinger Fuel Modifieds. Veteran Accord Speedway campaigner Mike Senecal hung tough all night long and he too put together a late charge to capture the Arkel Motors Sportsman main event. Livy Johnson was on point and scored her second win of the season in the Upstate Auto Pure Stock feature attraction. "The Travelin Man" Mick D’Agostino continued his winning ways as he held off a tough Jeremy Quick to score his sixth win of the season in the WRWD Radio NEWS Sprint Car feature. Travis Green made a late charge to the front successful as he scored his second win of the season in the WRWD Radio Rookie Sportsman feature. The Emmanuel's Marketplace Fireball 4-Cylinder feature was captured by Richard Smith as he borrowed a car for the evening to grab up his third win of the season. The Northeast Vintage Modified feature was captured by Mike Houghtaling for his second Accord win of the season. Ashton DeWitt captured what was determined to be his first ever win at the speedway in a special event headlining the Junior Slingshot division..
Nick Johnson and Steve Davis brought the field down for the start of the thirty lap Insinger Fuels 30-lap headliner for the Modifieds. Davis was a rocket off of the top of the speedway and opened up a huge lead early with some 13.5 second lap times as his Premio Sausage/Bubba Burger hot rod was extremely quick from the upper channel of the speedway. Davis continued to lead in only his third appearance of the season and by the halfway point opened up a straightaway lead on the field. Past the halfway point, Davis began to encounter slower traffic and his momentum hit a snag as he drove lower on the speedway and found the sledding tougher to try to move forward at his earlier pace. Rich Ricci Jr and Jimmy Wells gobbled up the real estate quickly and moved in behind Davis but not before Wells slipped by Ricci for the runner-up slot.
By the time Davis regained top speed on his race car, Wells was knocking on the door and the pair raced hard with Wells making the winning pass off of turn two on lap-24. Wells would lead the rest of the way to capture his third win of the season in his Upstate Auto wagon. Davis would finish second in a very strong and impressive run at Accord. Rich Ricci Jr was third while Danny Creeden hustled to fourth and Jerry Higbie charging to fifth after starting eleventh. Heading up the second five was Mike Ricci with Anthony Perrego, Andy Bachetti, Joe Judge and Danny Tyler completing the top ten.
The Arkel Motors Sportsman event pole sitter Kevin Stevens sprinting into the lead at the drop of the green flag as he bested Mike Senecal for the early lead. Stevens, who has been a part-time campaigner in 2018, wasted no time as he revved up the jets on his Frank Stevens Roofing racer to open up a six car advantage on the field. Stevens was in a hurry but Senecal stayed within striking distance throughout the first half of the feature. Stevens began losing ground as the leader as Senecal, Matt Shultz and Tyler Johnston kept pace and closed in on the leader. Senecal began to stick the nose of his racer under Stevens and on lap-17 took over the lead. Senecal led but Shultz got around Stevens as did Tyler Johnston but Kyle Rohner, who recovered from a first lap tangle, was now moving forward and he would slip past Johnston and then past Stevens. Senecal would not be denied on this night as he captured the win with Shultz doing great work in second and Rohner driving to third place. Kevin Stevens and Tyler Johnston completed the top five. The second five found Leo Fotopoulos, Danny Morgiewicz, Harry Baldwin, Dave Demorest and Nick Plumstead completing the top ten.
Joe Coppola would lead from the first lap in the WRWD Rookie Sportsman headliner. Sixth starting Travis Green worked his way forward and began to put some pressure on Coppola past the halfway point. Green found the baseline to his liking and mounted a bid from there to pull even and then take over the lead from Coppola on lap-13. Green led the final laps to claim his second win of the season. Coppola earned runner-up honors while Brian Durbin, Michael Corbin, Travis Cogswell, Kyle Swart, Erin Paulison and Billy Fiske followed.
In the Upstate Auto Pure Stock event, Ray Tarantino led the first six laps. A scramble in turn three found Tarantino suffering heavy damage to his race car. On the restart, Livy Johnson took command and and led the remaining laps to claim her second win of the season. Travis Brockner would earn runner-up honors with Bob Sleight third, Emerson Cargain fourth and Kyle Welsch in the top five.
Jordan Lawrence would jump into the lead at the start in the WRWD Radio NEWS Sprint feature and would lead the first two laps before yielding to Mick D'Agostino. D'Agostino would soon find Jeremy Quick making advances for the lead. The pair raced clean and hard and Quick pulled even a few times only yo find D'Agostino rise to the occasion each time. D'Agsotino would raced to his sixth win of the season with Quick a very close second. Corey Wood was third while Andrew Davis, Jordan Lawrence, Don Smith Jr, Mike Traver, Mark Connolly and Dan Malley completed the field.
In the Fireballers feature, Willie DeGraw grabbed the lead at the start and would lead the first five laps before Richard Smith found room out by the boiler plate to slip past him. Once in front the show belonged to Smith as he led the rest of the way for the win, his third of the season. Ryan Heady ran a strong event to record runner-up honors. DeGraw was third with Jerry Kingeter and George Barringer completing the top five. Brandon Conklin, Anthony Tarantino, Ed King, Ken Barringer and Dave Bendell filled out the top ten.
In the Northeast Vintage Modifieds, Mike Houghtaling led every lap to claim his second win of the season at Accord. Mike Brown was second with Bob Harless, Ray See Sr and Jimmy Halpin rounding out the top five.
The Junior Slingshot feature found Ashton DeWitt scoring his first ever win at Accord while Brock Pinkerous, Garrett Poland and Chase Zimmer followed.
GEMSTONES:
Heat wins went to Rich Ricci Jr, Andy Bachetti and Jimmy Wells in the Modified division. Three heats were needed for the Sportsman with wins going to Matt Shultz, RJ Smith, and Danny Morgiewicz. The Rookie Sportsman heats were claimed by Brian Durbin and Joe Coppola. Mick D'Agostino and Jeremy Quick captured the sprint car heat wins. The Pure Stock heat wins went to Livy Johnson and Steve Williams.. Fireball heat winners included Jerry Kingeter and Willie DeGraw. Ashton DeWitt captured the Junior Slingshot heat. Mike Brown and Mike Houghtaling were the heat winners in the Northeast Vintage Modifieds.
New additions to the speedway included Kory Fleming in the Modifieds. Kory has moved his racing around this year to different speedways and said he had not been to Accord in ten years. A flat tire on the third lap of the feature proved to be an early dismissal for him. Kyle VanDuser was in a new mount and Mike Ricci took over the car Rich Ricci III was driving of late. Don Smith Jr was back in the sprint car that had been handled of late by Gary Huston. Kyle Welsch made a surprise appearance for the Pure Stocks. Don Smith III was a new addition to the Sportsman ranks. The four cylinder division had Robert Phillips making his first start.
The track was in excellent condition as noted by some quick times in the Modified feature event.

Freddie Rahmer Sends Lincoln Speedway into Pandemonium with First Career Outlaw Win
ABBOTTSTOWN, PA – July 19, 2018 – Freddie Rahmer got by David Gravel on a double-file restart with nine laps remaining to win the Gettysburg Clash at Lincoln Speedway for the Pennsylvania Posse. Rahmer, joining his father Fred, became the sixth father-son duo to win World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series Features. Gravel and Daryn Pittman completed the podium.
Last year’s Gettysburg Clash winner David Gravel won the Sears Craftsman Dash to earn the pole for the 35-Lap Feature. Gravel got the jump on the start while Daryn Pittman got around front row starter Alan Krimes for second down the backstretch.
Gravel reached heavy lapped traffic on Lap 8 allowing Pittman, Krimes and company to close in. Two laps later, James McFadden brought out the Yellow Flag, giving Gravel a clear track. On the restart, Krimes took second from Pittman down the backstretch briefly, only to have Pittman power back to the runner-up position coming back to the line.
Rahmer, who started sixth, worked by Krimes for third on Lap 13 with a slider and set his sets on the lead duo. As Gravel and Pittman worked through heavy traffic, Rahmer closed in and moved by Pittman for second on Lap 20.
Danny Dietrich, a five-time Lincoln winner in 2018, worked his way into third by Pittman and began reeling in Rahmer and Gravel. In heavy lapped traffic, Dietrich threw a massive slider for second on Rahmer in turn three, but lost the handle and spun, leaving fourth-place running Brad Sweet nowhere to go. Neither was able to continue, a crushing blow to Sweet’s Championship efforts.
The caution also negated Gravel’s sizable lead. The double-file restart with nine laps remaining lined up Rahmer to the outside of Gravel. Rahmer used a brilliant run, glued to the middle, to take the lead down the backstretch, sending the Pennsylvania fans into a frenzy anticipating a hometown win.
Rahmer extended the lead and was just reaching the back of the field as he took the checkered for the first time as a World of Outlaws winner and sent Lincoln Speedway into pandemonium.
After collecting his breath, Rahmer said, “We work so hard for this, I knew if we got into position, we could win one of these races. I didn’t know if they were close the last two laps, but we got it done.”
Freddie and Fred Rahmer joined racing royalty as just the sixth father-son duo to win World of Outlaws Features, joining the Kinser, Swindell, Haudenschild, Smith and Kaeding families.
“Of all the things that have happened in racing, this is the coolest,” National Sprint Car Hall of Famer member Fred Rahmer, who is the all-time leading Feature winner at Lincoln Speedway, said while holding back tears in Victory Lane. “It took me a lot damn longer to win one of these races than him,” Rahmer added with a smile.
David Gravel was understandably disappointed after leading 26 laps to come home second, but wished his best on Freddie Rahmer and congratulated him on his first victory. “I didn’t need that yellow, but that’s racing. It’s a tough one to swallow, you lead that many laps, you want to win,” Gravel said.
Daryn Pittman completed the podium after a torrid battle with Donny Schatz for third and also congratulated the Rahmer family, “Congrats to Fred and Freddie, what an amazing performance from them. We were really good in the beginning, but kind of faded at the end. The last few laps with Donny were excellent, he ran me clean as always. This is a good run for this whole team and we’ll see what we have at The Grove.”
Schatz came from 11th to finish fourth with Lucas Wolfe completing the top five.
Greg Wilson came forward to sixth with Brian Montieth finishing seventh. Brent Marks earned KSE Hard Charger honors coming from 21st to eighth, Krimes faded to ninth and 20th-starting Logan Schuchart completed the top ten.
The World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series continues its 40th Anniversary Season this weekend at Williams Grove Speedway with two increased purses. Friday, July 20th’s Feature will carry the $5,000 bonus of the Morgan Cup, meaning the winner will take home $13,000. Saturday, July 21st’s Feature will pay $20,000 to the winner.
