PIONEER POLE BUILDINGS JERSEY RUSH VIII AT NEW EGYPT SPEEDWAY TUESDAY, JULY 24, 410 SPRINTS, MODIFIEDS & SPORTSMAN ON BIG RACE CARD
NEW EGYPT, NJ (JULY 20, 2018) – Greg Hodnett, Lucas Wolfe, JJ Grasso, Ryan Smith, some of the top 410 Sprint Car drivers in the region come to New Egypt Speedway on Tuesday, July 24 for the only New Jersey 410 Sprint Car race of the season.
Pioneer Pole Buildings presents Jersey Rush VIII – a tripleheader event that includes the 410 Sprint Cars, Big-Block vs. Small-Block Modifieds, and the Sportsman – in a one-time-this-season racing mega-show.
The 410 sprints will compete in time trials and a series of qualifying events all leading up to the 30 lap, $5,000 to win Jersey Rush VIII. Tenth will pay an attractive $1,000 and $300 is being offered just to start the main event. Oliver Construction has sweetened the pot posting $200 to win each of the sprint heat race events and CNB Chubby has added $200 in cash as the Fast Time Award.
JJ Grasso dominated the 2017 iteration of the event claiming his third Jersey Rush victory.
The Big Block vs Small Block Modifieds will take part in timed warm-ups, a series of heat race events also paying $200 to win courtesy of Oliver Construction and a 30 lap $3,000 to win feature event. Fifth-place will pay $1,000, with $250 being paid to start the main event.
Billy Pauch, Jr is the defending winner of the Modified event – but invaders like Jeff Strunk, Duane Howard, Wade Hendrickson, and Jimmy Horton are looking to thwart Pauch’s efforts.
A welcome addition to the Jersey Rush VIII is the Open Sportsman vs Crate Sportsman Challenge, a 20 lap feature that will pay $1,000 to the winner. The Sportsman will compete in timed warm-ups and a consolation leading up to the main event.
Before the racing action, fans will be treated to a special pre-race Meet and Greet from 5:00-6:15 PM. All race fans are welcome to visit the pit area and get an up-close look at the stars and cars competing in the JERSEY RUSH VIII. Spectators can enter the pit area from the gate behind the fourth turn grandstands.

The Jersey Rush VIII is a co-promotion between Lenny, Danny and Davey Sammons and special events organizer Bob Miller. The promotional team is pleased to have Pioneer Pole Buildings back as the event sponsor.
General admission for the Jersey Rush VIII is $30 for adults, $10 for children 6-11 and children five and under will be admitted FREE. The pit fee is $35 and a track license is not required.
Pit Gates open at 3:30 PM, Grandstands open at 5:00 PM, the Driver’s Meeting will be at 6:15 PM, Warm-Ups at 7:00 PM, Sprint Car Time Trials at 7:15 PM and racing at 7:30 PM.

Kyle Larson Dominates Silver Cup at Lernerville for $25,000 Payday
SARVER, PA – July 17, 2018 – Kyle Larson started fourth and worked his way by Ian Madsen on Lap 9 and never looked back to win his first World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series Feature of the year and sixth in his career. Larson also set Quick Time over the 37-car field and won his Heat Race. Brad Sweet finished second with Donny Schatz coming from ninth to complete the podium at the Don Martin Memorial Silver Cup at Lernerville Speedway.
Western Pennsylvania’s own Tim Shaffer won the Sears Craftsman Dash to earn the pole for the 40-lap Feature. Shaffer, the 1993 Lernerville Track Champion and two-time Silver Cup winner, led the opening four laps before Brandon Spithaler spun off the track, bringing out the only caution of the event.
World of Outlaws rookie Ian Madsen took advantage of the double-file restart to take the lead from Shaffer down the backstretch. Madsen led lap five and Larson took second from Shaffer a lap later.
Larson slid Madsen for the lead on Lap 8, but the Australian turned back underneath Larson’s No.57 to lead into turn three. It was short-lived, however, as Larson pounded the cushion and blasted around Madsen to lead the ninth circuit.
Larson established he was the class of the field and quickly built up a lead as the field stretched out around the 4/10th oval.
Brad Sweet, fresh off his runner-up finish at the Kings Royal, began making the top work and moved by Shaffer for third on Lap 26 and then used the same line to move by Madsen for second a lap later. Simultaneously, Donny Schatz began making the bottom work. Schatz worked his way into third on Lap 31.
As Larson diced through heavy traffic, Sweet began to close in on Larson as the large crowd at Lernerville Speedway watched closely to see if the driver referred to as ‘The Big Cat’ could make a move. Larson was flawless through traffic, re-extending his lead and going on to win by 1.893 seconds over his brother-in-law, Sweet.
“I was able to get through traffic pretty well. There was a strip of moisture in turns three and four. I was trying to check the board because I knew if [Schatz] was coming, I was going to have to do some searching,” Larson said in Victory Lane.
Larson was making his first start at Lernerville in five years, he came from 24th to second in the 2013 Silver Cup. “I didn’t think we were that great in the Dash, but Paul Silva was able to tune it up and I knew right away in the Feature I had a good shot of winning this one.”
“These Outlaw races are so hard to win. I was able to get an Outlaw win for Ricky [Stenhouse] last year, but it has been a couple years since I got an Outlaw win in the No.57,” Larson added.
"It’s great to see a packed house, I was only able to get here five minutes before engine heat because of plane troubles, but I’m glad we made it. We couldn’t be out here without all you fans,” Larson, who won everything but the Sears Craftsman Dash, said to a loud applause.
Brad Sweet settled for second and referenced how similar tonight was to Saturday’s Kings Royal, where he was trying to chase down Schatz on the cushion.
“You know [Larson] is going to be tough to beat out front, I wasn’t making as much speed once the top in turns one and two went away. I kind of saw Donny coming at the end so I moved down on the race track,” Sweet said in good spirits.
"The past few races the tracks have been slick and technical with a lot of Green Flag laps, it’s been a lot of fun. We’ve been right in the hunt throughout this Month of Money and hopefully we can pick up some more wins here soon,” Sweet added.
Schatz came from ninth to complete the podium and referenced his slow start, “We were a little better at the end than at the beginning, but we’ve got to be better earlier. It wasn’t a bad night or a bad finish, it was just one of those nights,” Schatz, who had won three of the last four races prior to tonight, said.
David Gravel came from 10th to finish fourth with Ian Madsen fading to fifth. Kasey Kahne made a last-lap pass in the Last Chance Showdown to make the Feature and earned KSE Hard Charger honors coming to 17th at the Checkered Flag.

DEMO DERBY, SIX MAIN EVENTS AND DISCOUNT ADMISSION ON “PACK THE TRACK NIGHT” AT WALL STADIUM THIS SATURDAY (JULY 21)
WALL TOWNSHIP, N.J. ~ Auto racing fans have a big event slated for this Saturday (July 21) at Wall Stadium Speedway with a Demolition Derby and six All American Auto Group Racing Series main events during “Pack the Track Night” action. A special discounted admission price of just $10 for adults and $5 for students aged 7 to 17 will be offered. Kids 6 and under and parking are always free. Spectator seating will open at 5:00 p.m., with qualifying slated for 5:45 p.m. Main event action will follow at around 7:00 p.m. This “Carnival Night” themed event will feature free games on the midway area.
On the famous high banked third mile paved oval six feature races will be presented with the Center State Engineering Sportsman cars, the O'Shea's Auto Repair Factory Stocks and the Surfside Collision 4 Cylinder Stocks all competing in two 25-lap main events.
The Sportsman races will see former champion Kevin Davison and Eric Lane, both of Howell, lead the way with plenty of competition from young guns Eddie McCarthy of Pt. Pleasant and brothers Jarret and Carsten DiGiantomasso, both of Jackson, just to name a few. In addition division sponsor Center State Engineering is posting a $250 bonus for each Sportsman race.
Top racers in the Factory Stock twin races will include point leader Mike Montano of Freeport, N.Y. former champ Scot Riggleman of Manchester and Beachwood's Elliot Wohl. Defending champ Brian Osborn of Howell, Sal Liguori of Union Beach and Wall's TJ Graves are expected to lead the 4 Cylinders into twin main event action.
Once the races are complete, the action will turn destructive when the Demolition Derby action is presented.
The grandstand midway will be festive during the “Carnival Night” event as plenty of games of chance for both young and old will be offered with prizes going to the winners.
Saturday’s schedule will see the competitor pit area open at 1:00 p.m. Regular practice will start at 3:00 p.m., while spectator seating will open at 5:00 p.m. Qualifying will then begin at 5:45 p.m. and feature race action for all divisions is slated for 7:00 p.m.

Bridgeport Utilizes Wednesday Rain Date for “Three for All”
Bridgeport, NJ - Bridgeport Speedway has decided to push back Tuesday’s racing program to their original scheduled rain date of Wednesday, July 18. The Super Late Models, 358 small blocks, and USAC East Coast wingless 360 sprint cars will now thrill the crowd a day later on the all new Design for Vision/Sunglass Central 3/8 mile.
“And the trend continues here for us,” offered general manager Danny Serrano. “We were off this weekend and it was gorgeous weather of course....come back Tuesday and the forecast says 100% chance of thunderstorms. However, the silver lining in all of this is that Wednesdaylooks picture perfect for racing. It’s gonna be a hell of show and we’ve got tons of drivers that can’t wait to try out the new 3/8. We’ve been out there prepping it all day and this way we’ll be ready for Wednesday now,” Serrano added. “It’s not often you can see guys like Austin Hubbard, Billy Pauch, Eddie Strada, Kyle Hardy, Jeff Strunk, Mike Gular, Mark Bitner, Ryan Godown, Amanda Whaley, Coleby Frye, and Bernheisel all in one night!”

BLEWETT WINS WALL'S MODIFIED 100-LAPPER
WALL TOWNSHIP, N.J. ~ Defending Pete and Elda's Bar/Carmen's Pizzeria Modified driving champion Jimmy Blewett continued his impressive season on Saturday night by winning the 100-lap “Summer Scorcher” at Wall Stadium Speedway. The All American Auto Group Racing Series victory, Blewett's seventh on the season, was worth $4,000.
Tyler Truex of Mayetta jumped to the lead at the outset while Blewett began his march to the front from the eighth starting slot. A couple of cautions slowed the early action and by lap 30 Blewett had advanced to third behind Truex and Jackson's Steven Reed. Blewett then slipped into second on lap 46 before powering to the front in the outside lane on a lap 51 restart.
Blewett led the second half of the race but held off constant pressure from Truex who lurked in his shadow very lap. Holmdel's Andrew Krause was third and Chas Okerson of Freehold was forth. In addition to the posted purse division sponsor Pete and Elda's Bar/Carmen's Pizzeria posted bonus money to the fifth through ninth place finishers. Reed earned purse money and a $500 bonus for fifth, while Shaun Carrig of Little Falls pocketed a $300 bonus for sixth. Seventh place finishing Jason Treat of Jackson earned a $200 bonus, while Zack Alspach of Willingboro and Adam LaCicero of Lavallette each earned a $100 bonus for their eighth and ninth place finishes, respectively.
“I know I say it over and over, but this all comes down to hard work,” Blewett said after the win. “Last night we were in the shop until 2 a.m. The night before until 1 a.m. My guys work real hard and give up a lot for the race team. I have to thank their families and my wife and family for there support. Tomorrow it is all about family time for me.”
John Carpenter of Howell took the lead early and fought off late race challenges to win the companion 25-lapper for the O'Shea's Auto Repair Factory Stocks. Elliot Wohl of Beachwood and John Bowers of Pt. Pleasant both attacked the first time winner before settling for second and third, respectively. Point leader Mike Montano of Freeport, N.Y. and Ron Booth wrapped up the top five.
TJ Graves of Wall won his second straight Surfside Collision 4 Cylinder Stock 25-lap main event over Chris Silvestri of Hazlet. Neptune's Jeff Loesch, Sal Liguori of Union Beach and Wall's Rob Longo were third through fifth.
Howell's Rob Silver won his first ever main event at the speedway taking to honors in the 25-lap main for the Green Flag Driving Experience Legend Cars. Nick Van Wickle of Edgewater Park, Little Silver's Peter Bruno, James Van Wickle and Art Marrero wrapped up the top five.
The All American Auto Group Racing Series continues this Saturday evening (July 21) with another “Pack the Track Night” that features a discounted $10 adult grandstand admission. A Demolition Derby will be the finale of the program which also features double main events for the Center State Engineering Sportsman cars, the Factory Stocks and the 4 Cylinder Stocks. Grandstands open at 5:00 p.m., with qualifying set for 5:45 p.m. and feature race action set for 7:00 p.m.
