The Hamlin Speedway has hit the halfway mark of the 2018 racing season and with that offered a Saturday night show people will continue to talk about for some to come. The hot, muggy air that has sweltered everyone in the Northeast of late cooled down more than a fraction on Saturday night and had fans donning jackets as the sun set on the speedway. An overflow race crowd embraced the opportunity to come out to the speedway and enjoy the very best of what Hamlin has to offer in the way of racing entertainment. The Smith Family and Staff presented a superb seven feature race card on Saturday evening with the highlight of the evening being great racing and the opportunity for the fans to give back to assist in supporting the many veterans in the Northeast who laid their lives on the line to help keep America free from oppression. Hamlin Speedway Promoter Randy Smith had the 1/5th mile clay oval in impeccable condition and the racing was spectacular. Once again, the drivers utilized every inch of the raceway to carve out some rim-riding expeditions around the speedway and the heart-stopping action was non-stop from start to finish. The Smith Family orchestrated the seven feature event program even though the main sound system was knocked out by a storm during the week and the VetStock Group was kind enough to scurry to home base and bring their portable system to the speedway.
The headline event of the evening was the VetStock Firecracker 100 All Star Slingshot feature event that went 100-grueling laps to determine the winner. When all was said and done invader "The Oley Jet" Brett Bieber was strong from start to finish to etch his name in the Hamlin record books as a winner of the event. "The Oxford Express" Dale Kober captured his second win of the season in the Super Slingers finale. "The Electric Man" Colin White only led the final few feet but that is when it counted as he came on strong late to capture his first win of the season in the Chad Wheeler Excavating Wingless 600 Sprint headliner. Alex Reinsmith was a rocket at the drop of the green flag as scored his first win of the season in the Winged 270 Sprint feature. Kasey Hufcut earned his fifth win of the season in the Junior Slingshot finale. The JPA Masonry Rookie 600 Sprint feature once again produced a great dual and Ryan Lacoe drove to his first win of the season. The Hampton RV & Trailer Sales Stage One Modified event found "The Nickel Man" Joel Smith dominating the action to score his fourth win of the season in the division.
"The Sandman" Troy Langendoerfer grabbed the lead at the start of the All Star Slingshot feature event and would set a torrid pace with lots of action scrambling around behind him. A move here and move there produced some early heartaches as Tanner VanDoren was the first to fall by the wayside after eleven laps. The restart found more jockeying for position as Langendoerfer continued on his merry way. The major players began to line-up behind Langendoerfer after a 43'rd lap scramble sent contender Mike Taylor into the frontstretch wall with heavy damage to his race car. On the restart, Langendoerfer again took the lead but Brett Bieber was now knocking on his door with the Silfee Brothers, Scott Neary and Dale Kober in hot pursuit. Bieber made his move when Langendoerfer slid high off of turn two on the 48th lap and Bieber hustled into the lead.
>From then on it was Bieber holding court the rest of the way as Jared Silfee mounted a challenge and even stuck the nose of his race alongside Bieber but could not make the pass to slip past him. Bieber would go on to capture the win with Jared and Austin Silfee second and third with Scott Neary fourth and Dale Kober completing the top five. A former winner of the event, Ben Whitaker, found a ride in Mark Exeter's hot rod and drove from 18th to head up the second five. Tanner Jones, invader Mike Lapicki, another former winner Charlie Lawrence and Jasper Ziegafuse completing the top ten.
The Super Slingers main event found Dale Kober leading the first eight laps before Wes Hearn got by him. Hearn would lead for two laps before Kober slipped past Hearn to once again command the event, The lead pair along with Mike Taylor separated from the pack and was a dogfight until the end with Kober grabbing up his second win with Hearn second, Taylor third, Paul Ennes Fourth and Jim Conroy fifth., with Doc Lapicki and Derek Deliva following.
Alex Reinsmith was all business in the 270 Sprint main. Coming out of turn at the start, Reinsmith jumped into the lead and never looked back. Clicking off laps in the 11. 7 second range, Reinsmith attacked the track with gusto and led every lap to claim his second win of the season. Reigning track champ Glenn Macomber was second while Anthony Chrobak and newcomer Dakota Missmer followed.
The Junior Slingshot feature found Shelby McLaughlin and Kasey Hufcut on the front tier of automobiles. Hufcut won the opening drag race and opened up an early lead while JJ Rice moved in to the runner-up slot. A couple of skirmishes slowed the action but the restarts found Hufcut with power enough to continue to lead the way. McLaughlin fought her way back and was able to drive by Rice to regain second place. McLaughlin raced hard and was able to stay nose to tail with Hufcut the rest of the way and mounted a couple of challenges to get by him but it would be Hufcut earning his fifth win of the season at Hamlin. McLaughlin was second with Rice third, James Benz fourth and Brian Smith completing the top five. The second five found Mikey Johannes, Aidan Donaldson, Jacob Taylor, Austin Homan and Charlene Benz following.
The start of the JPA Masonry Rookie 600 Wingless Sprint event found Bryan Zyck leading for two laps before faltering with engine woes. Ryan Lacoe inherited the lead with Zack Weisenfuh and Noah Zielinski applying the pressure. On lap eleven, Zielinski made a move to take over the lead but hopped a wheel and went flipping hard in turn one. He was unhurt in the incident. On the restart, Lacoe was still in command but Weisenfluh and Tyler Lindsay were closing in quickly. Lacoe would hang on for the win, his first of the year, with Weisenfluh and Lindsay following. Dennis Chamberlain was fourth and Tony Parlanti completed the top five. Dennis Stawinsky, Jack Hanna, Earl Rice, Carmen Leggio Sr and newcomer Joey Peters completed the top ten.
Duane White took the lead at the start of the headliner Chad Wheeler Excavating 600 Sprint event. Blasting forward from his third starting place, "Bad" Chad Sandt hoisted the top side channel and took over the top spot on lap three. Sixth starting Colin White was moving through traffic and was soon following his Dad in the White team cars. Colin would get himself into the runner-up role but Sandt was a tough customer and the pair raced hard and fast as they posting 12.2 laps times with each and every lap. Sandt seemed in command on the white flag lap but White had ideas of his own. Sandt slid a bit high in two and White pulled even down the backstretch and forged ahead with a slider but Sandt came right back off of four side by side but it would be White securing the win by a whisker. Sandt was a disappointed second with Duane White third, Joel Smith fourth and Paul Richards Jr securing fifth. The second five found Tyler Lindsay, Joe Nemeth, Mick D'Agostino, Zack Bealer and Cody Smith following.
Joel Smith took the lead at the drop of the green flag and clicked off some 12.7 second laps to move out to a big advantage. Some tangles slowed the action just a bit but the restarts allowed Amanda Buchel to make a run for the lead on those restarts but Smith was in the zone and would hustle to his fourth win of the season. Buchel ran a great race for runner-up honors. John Comandini, Adam Buchel and Jeff Hineline completed the top five. Tanner VanDoren headed up the next five with Cody Motto, newcomer Jacob Nemeth, Anthony Recchio and Joel Price completing the top ten.
PEARL JAMS:
The hotly contested evening of racing entertainment began on time despite the need for a back-up sound system. The staff kept moving the program along swiftly with a couple of breaks taken for track maintenance to keep the track racy throughout the evening. Once again Smith and Company got the job done without reservation and the fast times in all divisions shows the dedication the Smith Family puts into the facility. The good sized crowd on hand for the event witnessed a great evening of racing entertainment with all that was going on at the track.
Special awards during the evening went to JJ Rice in being selected the favorite driver. Best appearing cars honors went to Cody Motto. Ben Whitaker was the hard charger of the event advancing 12 positions at the end of 100 laps of racing. The Longest Haul Award sponsored by the Rode Family went to Cole Perry who made the tow in from Ontario, Canada.
Time trials found the Junior Slingshots taking time with Shelby McLaughlin gaining top honors with a fast time of 14.695 seconds just nipping Kasey Hufcut who timed at 14.708 seconds.. Noah Zielinski timed his hot rod in at 12.313 seconds to claim top honors for the JPA Masonry Rookie Wingless 600 Sprints.
Wes Hearn captured the Super Slinger Slingshot heat event. The 600 Sprints ran off two heats with Joel Smith and Joseph Smith the two winners. Stage One Modified heats were claimed by John Comandini and Amanda Buchel. Glenn Macomber captured the 270 Sprint heat.
Two rounds of heats were utilized to set the Firecracker 100 starting field. Dale Kober, Austin Silfee and Jared Silfee captured the first round heats while Charlie Lawrence, Adam Buchel and Troy Langerdoerfer captured heat wins in the second round.
Newcomers who made their way to the speedway last night and made their first starts in the All Star Slingshots were Ben Whitaker, Emily Fleming and Mike and Doc Lipicki. Cole Perry and Mason Trautschold were newcomers for the Junior Slingshot ranks. Kyle Rutledge and JJ Smith were new additions to the 600 Sprints. Dakota Missmer was a new face for the 270 Sprints. Jacob Nemeth and Lawson Szerencits made their first Stage One Modified starts.
The VetStock Group does a world of good for the local veterans and their families and the Hamlin Speedway is proud to do their part in helping out anyway we can. Racing action returns every Saturday evening from April through September. The next event on the Hamlin Speedway schedule is set for July 14th when all Divisions will be in action on the 1/5th mile clay cushioned oval when seven divisions resume their weekly battles. Highlighting the evening will be the introduction of all of the JPA Masonry sponsored Rookie 600 Sprint drivers to the crowd. Great racing, great food and lots of fun.

DANNY SNYDER WINS THIRD FIRECRACKER 40 LATE MODEL RACE, VONDOHREN WINS SECOND MOD FEATURE OF 2018 AND ARNOLD IS TOPS IN SPORTSMAN AT GRANDVIEW SPEEDWAY
BECHTELSVILLE, PA. July 8, 2018 . . . Craig Von Dohren collected his second T.P. Trailers 30-lap NASCAR Modified feature victory of the season by holding off the hard-charging run of Mike Gular, the current Mod point leader, who was closing in during the final stages through the aid of the lapped cars. The Saturday night win didn’t come easy for Von Dohren, the ten-time and defending champion since twice he went through the middle of lapped traffic. He commented in victory lane that he knew they were racing for positions on the track that was getting slick for them as well as the others in the final event of the night. Von Dohren also thanked his crew and many sponsors who he realizes he wouldn’t be where he is without them.
Danny Snyder won his third Firecracker 40-lap Late Model NASCAR feature with defending point champion Chuck Schutz right behind. Snyder, the current point leader won the event back-to-back in 2012 and 2013.
In the 25-lap NASCAR Sportsman feature Brad Arnold, who was a spectator last week when mechanical problems sidelined him from the feature, finally had Lady Luck on his side and claimed his second feature victory of the year.
Events were broadcast by RCN-TV, Allentown and providing feature winners met the necessary requirements, they received monetary awards from T.P. Trailers and also product certificates from VP Fuels. They also were the Dan’s Deli ½-way hoagie award winners.
Modified action saw Eric Biehn overtake Chris Gambler for the lead on the second lap to become the new pacesetter.
While Biehn showed the way around the 1/3-mile oval, Gambler and Ryan Grim put on quite a dual for second with Jared Umbenhauer, Ray Swinehart and Von Dohren in pursuit.
Once Grim moved into second and erased the margin Biehn built up, he ran the bottom lane in an attempt to pass Biehn, who chose the high lane to keep the lead.
Ron Kline stopped in the second turn to bring out the only race caution on the ninth lap. It was still Biehn first on the restart, but by this time, 12th-place starter Von Dohren was in the challenging position.
The 13th lap was a lucky one for Von Dohren when he motored his self-owned, Nick Gatto powered No. 1C into the number one spot.
Umbenhauer advanced to second on the 16th circuit and took chase after Von Dohren who had somewhat of a slight margin built up.
By the 20th lap, the front runners that consisted of Von Dohren, Umbenhauer, Gular, Biehn and Duane Howard encountered lapped traffic that were also racing for positions, but it hampered the progression of the frontrunners also.
Two times Von Dohren had some narrow misses with the slower traffic when he went through the middle, but managed to get through.
With five laps to go Gular cleared Umbenhauer and was off after Von Dohren hoping to grab the lead.
Von Dohren never gave up and went on to score his 104th career Saturday night career win trailed by Gular, Umbenhauer, Howard and Jeff Strunk, who both came on strong in the end.
Brett Gilmore, Ray Swinehart and Timmy Buckwalter were the heat winners.
Invader Sean Merkel, winner of the Late Model Firecracker 40 in 2015, wasted no time taking the early lead away from polesitter and opening night winner Snyder at the start of the event.
Merkel ran the high line and Snyder made several efforts to dive underneath him, but each attempt failed.
The lead changed the eighth time around when Snyder put the KAM Fuels No. 44 into first.
Behind Snyder the battle for positions was hot and heavy between Merkel, Schutz, Brian Shuey, making a rare appearance and Wayne Pfeil.
Merkel and Schutz diced for second many laps until Schutz got by and set sail after Snyder.
Mechanical problems continued to hinder Bryon Sipe who battled with Kyle Merkel for the sixth spot many laps until a broken axle and flat tire slowed his pace bringing out the yellow with 23 laps completed. Snyder was still first when action resumed with Schutz challenging, but Snyder kept him behind.
It seemed Schutz would gain ground on Snyder, but that quick he lost it.
Snyder kept all the competition behind him and went on to claim his 10th Grandview career win followed by Schutz, Pfeil, Merkel and Shuey.
Arnold, who chalked up his first 25-lap NASCAR Sportsman of the season May 5, 2018, finally had a change of luck when he pulled into the winner’s circle for the second time by a comfortable margin over runner-up Louden Reimert.
Kurt Bettler was the early leader after two tries to complete a lap, but the second time around Arnold put the No. 830 into tat the head of the pack.
Within no time Arnold had a sizeable lead while Kenny Bock, Bettler, Kyle Lilick and Reimert jockeyed for the remaining spots. Trying to break into the top five was Brad Brightbill.
Cale Ross spun in the fourth turn to regroup the pack on the 15th lap. Arnold maintained his pace on the restart, but four laps later Reimert put his bids in for first.
Nothing hampered Arnold for a change and he kept everyone behind him to chalk up his fourth career win. Chasing Arnold across the line were Reimert, Brightbill, Lilick and Mike Lisowski.
Heats were won by Andrew Kreis, Nathan Mohr and Arnold.
Coming up on Saturday, July 14th, 7:30 p.m. another exciting evening of NASCAR stock car racing on the high banks. Included in the Whelen Engineering sponsored tripleheader show will be the T.P.Trailers NASCAR 358 Modifieds, Sportsman and Late Models. Spectator gates open at 5 p.m.

Skylar Gee Grabs A Bear Of A Win At Montana's Gallatin Speedway
Bryan Hulbert - BELGRADE, Mont. (July 7, 2018) Becoming the second Canadian driver to score a victory with the Lucas Oil American Sprint Car Series presented by Sawblade.com, Skylar Gee picked a Bear of a night to get it done as the Strongs Crane Service No. 99 led start to finish in the finale of the NAPA Grizzly Nationals at Gallatin Speedway.
The 143rd driver to earn a victory with the Lucas Oil American Sprint Car Series presented by Sawblade.com since 1993, Gee is the 12th different winner and third first time winner on the 2018 season.
Asked what it meant to win his first National Tour event at the Gallatin Speedway and get the chance to stand with Adam the Grizzly Bear, Skylar replied, "This is awesome. I wanted to win this race so bad, I don't think I've ever driven a Racecar so hard in my life. This race is just so cool. I've wanted to do this since they first announced first started this race, so this is like a dream come true."
Joined by his Mother and Father on the front straightaway, the words were few, but Tim addressed the nearly sold-out crowd saying, "I'm struggling for words. I'm just super proud of him. It's awesome to do it here. He won his first ASCS feature here with the Frontier Region, and now he gets to win his first National Tour race here. I'm glad these fans got to see this."
Locked wheel to wheel with Friday night winner, Matt Covington, to open the 25-lap affair the two were inseparable with Gee gaining the advantage as the two cars completed the opening revolution. The race's lone caution on Lap 3 for Jordan Milne, who spun at the exit of the fourth turn, the restarts saw Covington and Wayne Johnson in pursuit. Able to fend off any challenge, Gee laid the right rear to the cushion before finding traffic four laps later.
Moving top to bottom through traffic, Gee continued to pull away from the race for second with sixth starting Blake Hahn moving to the runner-up spot just prior Lap 10. With a distinct bottom and top groove to choose from, Hahn began making up ground on Gee who was mired in lapped traffic. Pulling to within 10 car lengths with 10 laps to run, Gee finally broke into clear race track to again pull away.
Down to the final four laps, Skylar again found himself surrounded by lapped traffic. Threading the needle with inches to spare at times, Gee was able to keep his nose clean with an advantage of 3.041 seconds at the finish. Blake Hahn crossed second with Sam Hafertepe, Jr. rolling from 10th to complete the night's podium. Matt Covington would end up fourth with Wayne Johnson making the top-five.
Travis Rilat peddled his way to sixth from 13th with Kelly Miller, who transferred to the feature via the night's second BMRS B-Feature, picking up the night's CP-Carrillo Hard Charger Award with an impressive drive from 18th to seventh. Harli White ended up eighth with Seth Bergman ninth and Chris Martin tenth.
The Lucas Oil American Sprint Car Series presented by Sawblade.com moves east for their next round of action at Gillette Thunder Speedway on Wednesday, July 11 in Gillette, Wyoming. Dave Blaney wins at Sharon Speedway for second Lou Blaney Memorial title
HARTFORD, Ohio (July 7, 2018) - In appropriate fashion, the “Buckeye Bullet” Dave Blaney earned the Lou Blaney Memorial crown on Saturday night at Sharon Speedway, becoming the first repeat winner of the prestigious event in its ten year history. Blaney, son of the legendary Lou Blaney, earned his 49th career Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions presented by Mobil 1 triumph in exciting fashion, ultimately holding off Western Pennsylvania regular George Hobaugh and a fast charging Spencer Bayston in front of a packed house to claim the $5,000 winner’s share.
“This is really special for me and my entire family. I’m really happy to win this race,” Dave Blaney said in victory lane, driver of the Premier Motorsports/Mohawk Northeast/No. 70. “To be honest, the last couple of weeks we’ve been working to win this race. You kinda know what you’re going to get when you come to Sharon; it is slick and smooth and wide. We had enough for them tonight, I guess. Pete Grove, my car owner, won this race a few years back with Danny Holtgraver. I couldn’t be happier to get my first All Star win of the year here at Sharon.”
By way of dash victory, Blaney’s campaign at the front of the field started from the outside-front row, earning the initial jump over fellow front row starter Carl Bowser and fifth-starting George Hobaugh. Although he was the class of the field during the early segments of the 30-lapper, extending his lead to nearly four seconds just before the midpoint, Blaney’s stronghold over the field was soon interrupted by traffic. Hobaugh, who advanced to the runner-up spot on lap two, was able to chip away at Blaney’s advantage in traffic, cutting it down to less than two seconds by lap 18, then down to just a half-second by lap 20.
With traffic intensifying in Blaney’s preferred groove around the bottom of the speedway, the 2014 Lou Blaney Memorial champion had no choice but to shift lanes and move to the top of the speedway. The desperate lane shift would not only cost momentum, but also cost Blaney the point position, as Hobaugh was able to slip underneath Blaney to officially lead the 22nd circuit. Realizing he needed to move back to the bottom, Blaney recovered in a hurry, eventually working back by Hobaugh as the pair battled a lapped car down the back straightaway. Blaney shut the door on Hobaugh entering turn three and regained control of the field to lead lap 23.
A caution the following circuit would allow Blaney the opportunity to catch his breath. With clean air and an open track in view, Blaney cruised on to lead the remaining circuits unscathed, only encountering lapped traffic slightly before the final checkers flew. Hobaugh held on to finish second to earn his career-best finish with the All Star Circuit of Champions, followed by a cushion-pounding Spencer Bayston from eighth, Gary Taylor, and Chad Kemenah.
“I was just trying to keep myself calm. I was driving around and said ‘oh sh--, there’s (Dave Blaney),’” George Hobaugh said with a laugh, driver of the Hobaugh’s Auto Parts/Matus Motorsports/No. 40. “It’s really awesome to run with these guys. I got to watch Lou (Blaney) race as a kid, so to be out here racing with Dave is just a blast.”
“You never know what is going on behind you,” Blaney explained regarding the lead exchange. “I didn’t want to get bottled up too bad behind the lapped cars, so I decided to move up the race track. It may have worked a tiny bit, but not enough.”
With many All Star Circuit of Champions competitors planning to enter the upcoming Brad Doty Classic at Attica Raceway Park, as well as the 35th Annual Kings Royal at Eldora Speedway, the 2018 All Star calendar will take a weekend off before returning to competition on Friday and Saturday, July 20 & 21, with a pair of stops in Western Pennsylvania, this time visiting Eriez Speedway and Pittsburgh’s Pennsylvania Motor Speedway, respectively. Dubbed the I-79 Summer Shootout, the weekend double will be the final Western Pennsylvania visit for the traveling All Stars in 2018.

ARCTIC CAT ALL STAR CIRCUIT OF CHAMPIONS & NASCAR 358 MODIFIEDS INVADE “THE Hill” AT GRANDVIEW THURSDAY NIGHT, AUGUST 23
The fourth Annual Thunder Cup Championship for sprint cars will return to Grandview Speedway on Thursday night, August 23rd in an event sanctioned by the Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions. This will mark the 131st race of the NAPA Auto Parts Thunder on the Hill Racing Series and is presented by Levan Machine & Truck Equipment.
Previous Thunder Cup winners include Greg Hodnett (2015), Danny Dietrich (2016) and Dale Blaney (2017). All three drivers are expected to be in the field to chase the $5,000 to win 35 lap feature along with many others who complete on the All Star Circuit of Champions tour. The 358 NASCAR Modifieds will be on the race card as well. After a series of qualifying events, the modifieds will duke it out in a 30 lap $3,000 to win feature event.
On Thursday night, August 23, gates will open at 5 PM with race time set for 7:30 PM. Adult admission prices are $30, children 6-11 $10 and kids 5 and under will be admitted for free. The pit fee is $35 and a license is not required.
For advance tickets, please call 443-513-4456, clearly speak your first and last name and tell us the number of tickets you would like. You may pick-up an pay for your tickets on race night (Thursday, August 23) after 4 PM at the Will Call Window. All advance ticket holders may enter the grandstands at 4:30 PM, one half hour prior to general admission tickets going on sale. Advance tickets may be ordered daily until 9 AM on race day. On race day, tickets go on sale at 5 PM.
Thunder on the Hill welcomes the return of Levan Machine & Truck Equipment back to Grandview as they are the event sponsor for Thursday, August 23. Fans may camp out at the Speedway for the ultimate Thunder on the Hill experience. Campers are asked to park in the turn 4 parking area, there are no hook-ups available, and no box camping allowed. Track officials ask that all fires be contained. There is no fee for camping.

Brad Sweet Sweeps Night One of the FVP Platinum Battery Showdown at Cedar Lake
NEW RICHMOND, WI – July 6, 2018 - Brad Sweet completed a clean sweep of the opening night of the FVP Platinum Battery Showdown with his third win of the season at Cedar Lake Speedway. A late race caution took Sweet out of heavy lapped traffic and gave him a clean track and clean air with eight laps remaining. David Gravel and Brent Marks completed the podium.
Sweet started the night off right, setting fast time over the field before edging Gravel in a potential Heat Race of the year. Sweet started second in the Sears Craftsman Dash and won that to earn the pole for the 35-lap Feature.
While it may have looked easy on paper, it was far from it. Sweet, driver of the Kasey Kahne Racing No.49, grabbed the lead early and distanced himself, while Gravel and Marks battled for the runner-up position.
Sweet reached traffic by Lap 6 and negotiated the slower cars well. Marks, while running third, made contact with the slower car of Jason Tostenson and lost the third spot to Sheldon Haudenschild in the process.
As traffic intensified, Gravel and company closed in looking to steal the victory away from Sweet.
Sweet, at this point, was lapping some impressive race cars. As the Grass Valley, CA native tried to put Kerry Madsen, who swept both nights of the FVP Platinum Battery Showdown last year, and Cory Eliason, who has an Outlaw win this year, Gravel, Haudenschild and Marks closed significantly. Haudenschild bobbled on the bottom of one and two and relinquished the third spot back to Marks on Lap 22.
Just as Gravel and Marks were closing in, ready to pounce, debris in turn four forced a caution on Lap 27.
With eight laps remaining and a clean track, Sweet was never truly challenged and went on to win by .968 seconds.
“I’ve never done a clean sweep before. That’s a heck of a way to start the weekend,” Sweet said in Victory Lane before giving a shout out to Bobbi and Jaxx Johnson.
“Lapped traffic was tough tonight, but it’s what wins and loses races. We needed a win, it’s been a while. These NAPA Auto Parts guys have been working hard and they deserve more of these wins,” Sweet, who continues to sit second in the Series Point Standings added.
David Gravel finished a nose ahead of Marks for third, after getting held up with a lapped car coming to the checkered.
“I definitely didn’t want to see that yellow. My car was getting better as the race went on, luckily, tomorrow’s race is 41 laps. Hopefully we can finish one position better,” the driver of the CJB Motorsports No.5 said in good spirits.
Second-year Outlaw Brent Marks was very pleased with his evening, “I was surprised tonight, we weren’t very good here last year but we were excellent tonight. I’m really proud of my guys and I’m excited to be up here on the podium.
After not getting a Qualifying lap and starting last in his Heat Race, Donny Schatz picked up KSE Hard Charger honors, finishing fourth in the Feature from 11th. Sheldon Haudenschild completed the top-five.
