T-MEZ TOWERS ON NIGHT ONE AT LAKE OZARK
ELDON, MO. (August 31, 2019) - Capitalizing on Cannon McIntosh's late-race misfortune, Thomas Meseraull of San Jose, Calif. assumed the race lead with five laps remaining on Saturday night at Lake Ozark Speedway and held on for his fourth-career POWRi Lucas Oil National Midget League victory.
With 24 cars in attendance for the POWRi National / West Midget show, a trio of heat races were presented to the enticed Labor Day weekend crowd. Meseraull topped the opening Auto Meter heat race and rocketed to second in points, while Zach Daum of Pocahontas, Ill. won KSE Racing Products heat two from fifth to earn PAC Racing Springs High Point Man honors, who was followed by Chance Morton claiming the third Advanced Racing Suspensions heat.
As Daum and Meseraull brought the 24-car field to life in the main event, it was T-Mez powering his Matt Estep owned, Envirofab, Spike/Toyota No. 7X to the point. Commanding the opening six laps, Meseraull was quickly chased by fourth-starter Cannon McIntosh, who maneuvered by Daum and set his sights on the race lead.
Taking the top spot on lap seven, McIntosh wheeled his Dave Mac Motorsports, Drive WFX, Spike/Toyota No. 08 to the front and looked to cash in for his first-career POWRi National Midget triumph.
Driving away and holding a tight grasp on P1, it looked as if McIntosh was finally due to break his spell of bad luck and strike gold with that elusive victory. However, heartbreak soon ensued, as mechanical issues on lap 25 saw the Bixby, Okla. 16-year old retire from the lead in devastating fashion.
Assuming the lead in the midst of McIntosh's woes, Meseraull was back at the point and had only five laps separating himself from the checkered flag. The San Jose, Calif. native survived the final restart with ease and ran away to score his fourth-career POWRi Lucas Oil National Midget League win.
Rounding out the top five behind Meseraull was Zach Daum in second, Jesse Colwell in third, Tucker Klaasmeyer in fourth and Michael Pickens in fifth. Closing out the top ten was Holley Hollan in sixth, Tyler Thomas in seventh, Trey Marcham in eighth, Jesse Love in ninth, Hank Davis in tenth.
The POWRi Lucas Oil National Midget League will be right back at it tomorrow night Sunday, September 1 with another appearance at Lake Ozark Speedway in Eldon, Mo. alongside POWRi West.

TWO FOR ONE: Logan Schuchart sweeps Skagit Speedway doubleheader
Shark Racing’s Schuchart pockets $15,000 payday with sixth win of the season
ALGER, WAS – Aug. 31, 2019 – A small fire lit underneath Logan Schuchart’s car.
There were three laps go. Schuchart the leader – looking to win back to back World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series races at Skagit Speedway Saturday night. He had led all 37 laps, fending off constant attacks by Brad Sweet.
The yellow and orange flame illuminated the gap under the tail tank.
Schuchart had already dealt with overheating issues, leaking copious amounts of liquid onto the track during an earlier red flag. Luck was trying its best to keep him from winning his sixth race of the year.
The Pennsylvanian didn’t need luck, though. He had speed. Plenty of it.
With a few quick jabs to the throttle the rear end fire was out. The worry of overheating, none existent. When the green flag flew for the final time Schuchart saw nothing in front of him expect the checkered flag three laps later.
He swept the weekend doubleheader at the 3/10-mile. Won the $15,000 payday – $23,000 in total between the two days. Won his sixth race of the season – further surpassing his previous single season win record of four. And broke his grandfather, and car owner, Bobby Allen’s record for most wins in a single season – five.
“If you would’ve told me a couple of years ago or at the beginning of this year you’re going to be winning a couple of races in-a-row and have six wins on the season... you know, I knew it was something we were capable of doing,” Schuchart said. “I’m just really proud of this team. It’s awesome to get big wins like this.”
Friday night he led all 30 laps en route to the victory. Saturday night he did the same, but with 10 more laps. Unlike Friday night, though, where Schuchart stretched his lead throughout the race, Sweet made Schuchart work for his second win at Skagit Speedway.
The start of Saturday's 40-lap Feature was almost a mirror image of Friday night’s race. Schuchart drag raced side by side with polesitter Tim Kaeding down the front stretch on the initial start. The two stayed that way into the corner, but Schuchart, riding the high line, had the better grip. He rocketed by Kaeding for the lead down the backstretch.
While Schuchart pulled away, catching lap traffic on Lap six for the second night in-a-row, Californians Kaeding and Sweet were the show for the opening eight laps. The two raced side by side, lap after lap, corner after corner. Kaeding ran high, while Sweet threw dive bombs to the bottom each lap.
Kaeding eventually put distance between he and Sweet, but a lapped car hindered his run off turn two, allowing Sweet to stay in the throttle and dive underneath him again in turn three. This time it worked for the “Big Cat.” Sweet cleared Kaeding off turn four on Lap eight and began to hunt Schuchart.
It wasn’t much longer before Sweet was to Schuchart’s bumper with the help of a caution on Lap 12 for Kraig Kinser spinning in turn two. However, the Drydene No. 1s car accelerated better than Sweet on the restart and pulled away with the lead by several car lengths. Once Schuchart hit lapped traffic again a few laps later, Sweet was able to make up ground.
On Lap 23 Sweet was close enough to throw a Hail Mary slide job into turn one, sliding up in front of Schuchart by turn two. The Shark Racing driver was ready for it, though. He held his line and charged underneath Sweet on the exit of the corner, making slight contact with the NAPA Auto Parts No. 49 car before reclaiming the lead.
“I tried to cross back underneath him and he kind of blocked me a little bit and we kind of touched,” Schuchart said. “I was just happy to get back by him. As the race went on I felt like I had a line that felt good to me that I could make moves but also defend myself.”
Sweet tried the same move again four laps later, but didn’t have enough of a run this time to put his car in front of Schuchart. He slid up next to the No. 1s car and then watched it drive away down the backstretch. It was the closest he was going to get to trying to pass Schuchart, even with several late cautions.
“We sure did try,” Sweet said. “Every time we timed it pretty good in traffic Logan was able to counter. We made a little contact that one time, but it was all hard racing. I knew I needed to get the lead and kind of went a little too hard and burned up my tire. The track was really aggressive when you’re running high.”
Behind Schuchart and Sweet, Kaeding, Donny Schatz and Daryn Pittman had a fierce battle for third-place. The three drivers traded slide jobs, dive bombs and dueled all race long for the position. Schatz eventually bested the two with aggressive maneuvers to take the spot. Those moves further paid off on a late restart with three laps to go. Schatz snuck his way by Sweet to end the race in second.
“It’s (the season) winding down,” Schatz said. “You want to get the best finishes you can when you can’t win. Logan was obviously really good and set a pretty good pace. I pretty much used everything up getting to that point. It was pretty aggressive up there (on the high side) on the tires. I tried to save as much as I could, but at the end I was sliding and moving around a bit and that’s what got us the spots we got.”
Schuchart had more than a second gap between he and the 10-time Series champion when he passed the flag stand for the final time to pick up his sixth win of the season. His goal at the beginning of the year was to tie his grandfather’s record for most wins in a year. In one weekend he did that and then beat it.
“That’s pretty good,” Bobby Allen said with a grin. “I’m glad for him. He’s doing good. He’s doing a good job of setting the car up. He’s thinking good. Driving good. We had a little trouble at Eldora with the motor stumbling. We think we got that cured and I think that’s helping us because I noticed he took off hard on the restarts and that made it hard for Sweet to slide him on the start. So, I’m happy about everything right now.”
He’s especially happy about winning $8,000 Friday night and $15,000 Saturday night. It goes a long way for the two-car operation.
“It definitely helps,” Allen said. “What we do is we go into the hole pretty deep, Drydene is a big help, but we go into a hole pretty deep, after Knoxville we start paying our bills off. We’re getting close to getting them all paid off and start working on next year.”
To Schuchart, having his grandfather by his side while he accomplishes his goal means a lot to him, he said. The performance he and his Shark Racing team have had this year is exciting, too.
“To say I’m proud of them is an understatement,” Schuchart said. “Everybody from the top down that’s a part of this, that’s helped from the beginning, I know they’re all smiling in Pennsylvania. It’s pretty cool.
“We just want to keep the momentum going. We want to build with it. Keep building this team up to where it can be the best and eventually win a championship. The last couple weeks showed we’re working toward that goal.”
A fire has been lit underneath the Shark Racing team and they want to keep it burning.

JEFF STRUNK, BRAD ARNOLD AND ANDY RESSLER WIN FEATURES AT GRANDVIEW SATURDAY
BECHTELSVILLE, PA. September 1, 2019 . . . Jeff Strunk, ten-time Grandview Speedway Modified point champion, came through the pack from his 11th starting berth in the TP Trailers NASCAR 358 Modified 30-lap feature on Saturday night and was able to catch up to first and second place runners Ron Kline and John Willman, somewhat hindered by lapped traffic, by the 22nd lap to make it a three-way battle for the lead.
Strunk finally cleared Willman with three laps to go. Seeing the white flag in starter Ray Kemp’s hand, Strunk passed Kline and went on to chalk up his fourth win of the season. Strunk was pleased with the track preparation and commented the victory was for No. 126 car owner Glenn Hyneman, who was not in attendance since he was not feeling well.
Brad Arnold overtook rookie leader Scott Kohler on the 15th lap of the 25-lap TP Truck Equipment NASCAR Sportsman feature and went on to become the 13th different winner in the division when he claimed his first win of the season over runner-up Jack Butler in the caution-filled event.
Former late model driver Andy Ressler, now competing in the X-cel 600 Modified class, “finally found a division he could win in at the track.” He passed leader Matt Warner with two laps to go in the 20-lap feature and went on to score the win.
The popular Blast from the Past Vintage racers are part of another tripleheader show on Saturday, September 7 along with the T.P.Trailers NASCAR 358 Modifieds and T.P.Trucks NASCAR Sportsman racers at Grandview Speedway. Racing gets the green at 7:30 p.m. Spectator gates open at 5:30 p.m.
Providing the feature winners met the necessary requirements, they received monetary awards from T.P. Trailers and a certificate from VP Fuels for product awards. The Dan’s Deli ½-way hoagie award recipients were Kline and Kohler. Wyatt Harrar, a rookie who just recently started in the division and placed 12th, received an extra $100 for being the highest finishing crate engine driver.
As usual it was Willman taking the early lead at the start of the Modified feature with pressure from Kline, Jesse Leiby, Mike Lisowski and Briggs Danner.
Kevin Hirthler spun in the second turn to bring out the yellow with four laps completed. A two-car second turn incident voided the restart. On the next attempt Kline charged past Willman to become the new pacesetter.
While Kline showed the way Willman and Ray Swinehart engaged in a side-by-side dual for second occasionally swapping paint.
By the ½-way marker the front runners now comprised of Kline, Willman, Strunk, Swinehart and Lisowski encountered lap traffic.
At the conclusion of the 22nd lap Kline, Willman and Strunk were all vying for the lead with neither one giving in.
Strunk overtook second on the 27th lap and set his sights on Kline, who was in search of his first career win in the division gathering many wins and even a championship in the Late Model division before making the switch to the Modified ranks.
Kline’s hopes of victory were erased by Strunk with one lap remaining. After several tries Strunk finally succeeded to pass him to claim his 73rd Saturday night career win. Posting his best finish was Kline trailed by Willman. Swinehart and Lisowski, fourth and fifth place finishers finally had a changed of luck to have their season best run.
Brett Gilmore, Brett Kressley, Jesse Leiby and Duane Howard won the four qualifying heats. The consies were won by Danny Erb and Kory Fleming.
Kohler took the early lead in the Sportsman feature with challenges coming from Steve Young, Kenny Bock, Nathan Mohr and Jimmy Leiby.
The red was thrown on the fifth lap after Mark Kemmerer was got into the first turn infield track tire which in turn caused him to make contact with the tire sending it onto the track and then he flipped up and over it. He was uninjured. Management deemed Andrew Kreis responsible for the incident and sent him pit side out of competition for the remainder of the race. Kohler resumed the lead on the restart with Beck, Arnold, Jesse Landis and Mike Mammana in pursuit.
Arnold moved into second to challenge Kohler on the seventh lap restart needed when Mohr was spun along the backstretch.
Within a few laps Kohler and Arnold were in a door handle to door handle battle for first and no matter how many bids Arnold made to get by him, they were unsuccessful.
The final caution period, in which there were several, was on the 15th lap when Lex Shive stopped in the fourth turn. At the same time Keith Brightbill, the current point leader went pit side with a flat tire while running fifth and never returned to competition. When action resumed Arnold charged into the lead.
In a few laps Arnold had a comfortable lead built up and was now being chased by Butler, Kohler, Landis and Ryan Beltz.
Arnold never looked back and went on to tally up his fifth career win followed by Butler, Kohler, Landis and Beltz.
Jimmy Leiby, Mammana and Bock were the heat winners.
In the X-cel 600 Modified feature Matt Warner was the early leader at the drop of the green with Ressler righty on his bumper along with Hunter Deihl, Brianna James and Jeff Sechrist.
Warner maintained the top spot until Ressler passed him with two laps remaining when lapped traffic slowed the front runners pace.
Ressler led the way for the final laps to claim the win. Finishing second was Warner followed by Korey Inglin, Jeromy Guistwite and Jon Josko.
Heat winners were Warner, Diehl and Sam Sciccihitano.
The final NASCAR point races of the season are set for Saturday, September 14 as WNPV-AM Radio Champion’s Night is presented. The T.P.Trailers NASCAR 358 Modifieds and T.P.Trucks Equipment Sportsman will battle it out for the lucrative championships and top point finishing positions.

ANDRETTA, KILMER AND MARTINO ARE FIRST TIME WALL WINNERS SATURDAY
WALL TOWNSHIP, N.J. ~ Chris Andretta of Neptune, Nick Kilmer of Howell and Farmingdale's Tommy Martino were all first time winners in their divisions during Labor Day weekend Saturday night stock car competition at Wall Stadium Speedway. Limited Late Model winner and point leader Chris Silvestri of Hazlet enjoyed his second career victory.
Kenny Van Wickle of Manasquan was the first leader of the All American Auto Group Modified 40-lap race as a mid-pack battle for position raged during the first ten laps. Andretta was in third behind Jackson's Jason Treat by lap ten before Treat suffered big trouble with the front stretch guardrail just before halfway. Point leader Steven Reed was involved in the scramble but continued on. Brick's Dom Fattaruso and Boonton's Tom Catanzaro were also involved in the tangle.
Van Wickle and Andretta then battled side-by-side for the lead on the restart before Andretta took command near halfway. Holmdel's Andrew Krause saw his run to the front spoiled by a tire rub and Brick's Eric Mauriello arrived in second before mechanical woes knocked him from the race.
Andretta then raced on to the landmark win over Van Wickle, Derek Hopkinson of Toms River, Reed and Eddie McCarthy of Brick.
“To return to this track and to win a Modified race is like a dream come true,” Andretta, who won nine times here in the old Pro Stock division between 2003 and 2006, said. 'To win here in a Modified No. 25 is great! I thank my father and Pete and Elda's Bar/Carmen's Pizzeria for all of it.”
After finishing second to Scott Riggleman of Manchester the previous week Kilmer charged back to take his first ever win in the O'Shea's Auto Repair 25-lapper. Kilmer led this race from the start but was forced to fight off title race leader Elliot Wohl of Beachwood and Neptune City's Bryan O'Shea in the closing laps. Kevin Flores and Joe Mongeau, both of Brick, were fourth and fifth.
After Michael Rising of Little Egg Harbor led early before crashing on a lap five restart, Martino charged to the front of the 25-lap Center State Engineering Sportsman race and drove on to his first win over Jarret DiGiantomasso and Kyle Scisco, both of Jackson. Edison's Neil Rutt III and Carsten DiGiantomasso of Jackson wrapped up the top five.
When early front runner Mike Tillett of Bayville spun from the lead in the Mike's Performance Center Limited Late Model 25-lapper, point leader Chris Silvestri raced on to a convincing win. Joe Mongeau was second and Jackson's Shanon Mongeau, the defending division champion, was third. Michelle Moorman and Andy Gamble were fourth and fifth.
Auto racing continues at Wall Stadium Speedway this Saturday (Sept. 7) night with the All American Auto Group Modified stock cars, the Center State Engineering Sportsman cars, Green Flag Driving Experience Legend Cars and twin main events for the Surfside Collision 4 Cylinder Stocks on tap. Grandstand gates open at 5:00 p.m., qualifying begins at 5:45 p.m. and features start at 7:00 p.m.

Blake Hahn Captures 34 Raceway Triumph With The Lucas Oil American Sprint Car Series
Bryan Hulbert - WEST BURLINGTON, Iowa (August 30, 2019) Holding on through heavy lapped traffic and letting the DriveWFX.com No. 52 eat the cushion of the 34 Raceway on Friday night, Blake Hahn's inaugural trip to the Iowa oval ended with his seventh career victory with the Lucas Oil American Sprint Car Series presented by the MAVTV Motorsports Network, and first with the Sprint Invaders.

"I just have to say, this is one of the best tracks in Iowa. We don't normally get to race short tracks here, it's usually all big tracks and this place is high banks and slick to a curb; you couldn't ask for better," stated Hahn.
Coming down to the final two turns with Seth Bergman nearly taking the win away, Hahn had to duck under a slower car and was able to use the slower machine as a pick to hold off the Mud Slingers Coffee No. 23.
On having to hold off the No. 23, Hahn said, "I saw on the scoreboard at the Aussie [Scott Bogucki] was in second, then after the restart that Seth had gotten by him and I knew he to be rolling good, but I knew if I could stay on the cushion, especially on the restarts, I could get good momentum, but he did scare on one. I thought he had me slid, but we were able to get by him and at the finish, I just had to go where the lapped car wasn't and hoped he didn't change his line."
Taking off with the lead from the pole, Hahn slid in front of Austin McCarl as the pair raced into the first two turns. Getting several car lengths over the No. 99x, that advantage disappeared as lapped traffic came into play on Lap 5. Blocked for a couple of laps, the race for second between McCarl and the Sawblade.com No. 28 of Scott Bogucki morphed into a race for the lead with the trio in a high-speed game of Chess.
Making a small mistake on Lap 12, Hahn was wheel to wheel with Austin McCarl off the second turn. Able to keep the No. 99x at bay, McCarl was slid by Bogucki for the runner-up spot. Racing into a group of slower cars, the top three again went at each other's throats before the caution flew working Lap 14 for Dustin Selvage.
Back to the last fully completed lap, McCarl moved back to second and immediately threw a slide job for the lead. Unable to head off the No. 52, the momentum sent McCarl over the cushion and allowed Bogucki to advance once again, with Seth Bergman also taking advantage for third.
Shot sliding each other as Hahn built his lead, Bergman and Bogucki traded blows before the caution lights came on again for Harli White on Lap 16.
Diving the hub on the restart, Bergman went after the lead, but to no avail, as the caution slowed action again with 17 laps complete. Sliding for the lead again, the results were the same with Hahn railing the cushion to hold the top spot. Keeping pace with the No. 52 in clean air, Bergman closed but his run was hauled on Lap 22 with the race's final caution for Alex Hill.
Putting a half dozen car lengths on Bergman on the restart, Hahn was not out of the woods as the No. 52 found traffic with two laps to go. Bringing Seth right back into the fight, it was down to a car length on the final lap.
Sprinting into the final two turns, Hahn dove low on the lapped car who slid just high enough to keep the No. 23 from making the final lap pass.
Ending up third was the No. 28 of Scott Bogucki for his ninth top five of the season. Running up from 10th, Robbie Price landed in fourth with Sam Hafertepe, Jr. making up 12 spots after transferring out of the first BMRS B-Feature to complete the top five.
Making an equally impressive run, Terry McCarl came from 16th to sixth with Matt Covington seventh. Austin McCarl slipped to eighth with Kaley Gharst ninth. Making to the most of a night plagued with mechanical issues, John Carney II was forced to use a provisional in the MVT No. J2 and clawed from 23rd to 10th.
Combined with the Sprint Invaders and ASCS Warrior Region, a stout field of 37 drivers was on hand Friday night. Five SCE Gaskets Heat Races went to Alex Hill, Scott Bogucki, Cody Wehrle, Blake Hahn, and Robbie Price. BMRS B-Features were topped by Sam Hafertepe, Jr. and Bryden Gaylord. The only provisional was used by John Carney II.
The next event for the Lucas Oil American Sprint Car Series presented by the MAVTV Motorsports Network is the Champion Brands Lake Ozark Speedway 360 Nationals on Saturday, August 31 and Sunday, September 1.
Saturday, August 31 and Sunday, September 1 at Lake Ozark Speedway opens at 5:00 P.M. with racing getting underway at 7:30 P.M. (CT). Saturday's gate is $20 for adults, $17 for Senior and Military, $5 for youth 7-13, and free for kids six and under. BECHTELSVILLE, PA August 29, 2019 . . . With just three weeks to go before the 49th Annual Freedom 76 race teams are reminded to get their entries in and fans are reminded to take advantage of the discount ticket opportunity offered for the biggest event of the season at Grandview Speedway.
The richest 358 Modified race in the area, paying $25,000 to win, draws a large field of entries and a huge number of spectators.
Saturday, September 21st is the date for the rich event which will carry a September 28th rain date.
The race attracts a stellar field of competition with racers from as far away as Canada traveling to Bechtelsville to participate.
Fans can take advantage of a discount on admission prices with tickets purchased in advance of race day priced at $35 while on race day the price will be $40. Youngsters 6-11 will pay $10 and under 6 are admitted FREE.
Advance tickets can be picked up at the track or by mail to Grandview Speedway with a self-addressed stamped envelope to 87 Wilt Rd. Bechtelsville, Pa. 19505 Attn: Freedom 76. No tickets will be mailed after Sept, 7th to allow enough delivery time.
Advanced entry is $100 while waiting until race day will cost $115. Each paid entry includes one pit pass. Pit admission is $45 and no NASCAR license is required. For rule information racers can telephone Ed Scott at 484-239-7583.
And the night before adults will be admitted for $12, youngsters (6-11) pay $5 and under 6 are admitted free.
There is free parking available on the speedway grounds and there will be areas that have a fee for parking.
Racers getting their entries in early for the big race will benefit from possible publicity opportunities and gain exposure for their sponsors.

Campers should be aware of a new rule that will require campers be removed from the speedway grounds no later than the day following the race. If not removed the owners will be responsible for the cost involved in removing their camper.
