THUNDER ON THE HILL RACING SERIES

LEVAN MACHINE & TRUCK EQUIPMENT PRESENT SMOKE ON THE HILL AT GRANDVIEW THURSDAY, AUGUST 17

RYAN SMITH STILL SEARCHING FOR FIRST THUNDER ON THE HILL WIN, JOINED BY TONY STEWART & RICO ABREU

BECTHELSVILLE, PA (August 8, 2017) – The old saying goes ‘there are plenty of fish in the sea’ – but for 29-year-old 410 Sprint Car ace, Ryan Smith, Grandview Speedway is the one that continues to get away.

Smith’s next shot comes on Thursday, August 17 when NAPA Auto Parts Thunder on the Hill Racing Series presents Tony Stewart’s Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions 410 Sprint Cars at Grandview Speedway. The nationally touring series will join Grandview’s popular Sportsman division for a full night of racing excitement at the 3rd Annual Thunder Cup presented by Levan Machine and Equipment.

“We got lucky, Ryan Smith had a better car than I did,” Speedweek event winner and NASCAR driver Kyle Larson explained in victory lane. Larson dominated the early part of Speedweek competition, but it was Smith who stole the lead – much to the delight of the jam-packed Grandview Speedway – before clipping the outside wall and violently flipping into turn 3.

The PA Speedweek event marked the third consecutive NAPA Auto Parts Thunder on the Hill event that saw Smith suffer misfortune while leading.

“The Kunkletown Kid” comes back into Grandview Speedway stronger than ever. He currently sits second in the Arctic Cat All-Star Circuit of Champions series standings and is fresh off a victory at the All Stars event at New York’s Outlaw Speedway.

The best-of-the-best of competition will be on hand on Thursday, August 17 with drivers like Greg Hodnett, Danny Dietrich, Lucas Wolfe, Dale Blaney and Freddie Rahmer – all winners at area race tracks this season; along with All Star standouts Chad Kemenah, Tim Shaffer, Cole Duncan, and Carson Macedo all expected to be on hand; throw in one of the nation’s most popular drivers with Rutherford, CA’s Rico Abreu and action from three-time NASCAR Champion Tony Stewart – and you have one of the strongest fields of the All-Star season.

Grandview’s popular Sportsman division joins the card with a 25-Lap, $1,300-to-win event that will entice racers from all over the region. Some of the pre-entries include Brad Grim, Matt Stangle, Craig Whitmoyer, Mike Lisowski, Kenny Gilmore, Brian Hirthler, TJ Lilly, Brad Arnold and Ken Eckert Jr just to name a few.

Time Trials for the 410 Sprint Cars will open the show on Thursday, August 17 at 7:30 PM. The pit gates will open at 2:30 PM and the Grandstands will open at 5:00 PM. Fans can get up-close to the drivers and their mighty machines with the Low Down and Dirty Meet and Greet kicking off at 5:00 PM.

General Admission Adult tickets are $30, Children ages 6-11 are $10, and Kids under 6 are Free of charge! Pit admission is $35, and no license is required.

Advance tickets are available until Wednesday, August 16 by calling 443-513-4456. Please provide your name, phone number and the number of tickets you will need. Tickets may be paid for and picked up on race night at the Will-Call window after 4 PM. Advance ticket holders may enter the grandstands at 4:30 PM, 30 minutes before the opening of the box office.

Fans following the All Star Circuit of Champions may camp at the Speedway. Campers are asked to park in the turn 4 parking area, there are no hook-ups available, and no box camping allowed. Track officials ask that all fires be contained. There is no fee for camping.

NAPA Auto Parts continues their long run with the Thunder on the Hill Racing Series as the title sponsor joined by Pioneer Pole Buildings, Levan Machine and Truck Equipment and GALCO Business Communications.

About the Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions

All Star Enterprises, LLC, wholly owned by Tony Stewart, d/b/a the All Star Circuit of Champions, is a winged sprint car series. The All-Star Circuit of Champions Sprint Car Series is one of the oldest traveling 410 sprint car organizations and is a staple of grassroots, open-wheel racing. Formed in 1970 by Bud Miller, the series has largely been considered the first 'outlaw' Sprint Car organization of the modern era. After a 10 year stint as owner of the All Stars, Miller passed control of the series to Bert Emick in 1980; a reign that would continue through 2002. Guy Webb then purchased the series from Emick in the summer of 2002 and served as the series President for the next 12 years. Motorsports entrepreneur Tony Stewart agreed to terms with Guy Webb to become the sole owner of the original winged sprint car tour in January of 2015. ASCS National Sprint Series

Clint Garner Finally on Top at Knoxville 360 Nationals; Eric Bridger Victorious in 305's

Bill Wright/Bryan Hulbert - KNOXVILLE, Iowa (August 5, 2017) - One of the greatest 360 sprint pilots ever at the Knoxville Raceway, and indeed, one of the best sprint car drivers at the "Sprint Car Capital of the World", finally broke through and won the 27th Annual Knoxville 360 Nationals presented by Great Southern Bank. Clint Garner, of Sioux Falls, South Dakota held off the field to win the 25-lap $15,000 event at Knoxville on Saturday night in his fourteenth try at the event.

A fairytale evening for the seven time Knoxville Raceway 360 track champion, the win is not only his first in the Knoxville 360 Nationals but first against the Lucas Oil American Sprint Car Series presented by the MAVTV Motorsports Network. With the addition of Garner to the record books, 140 drivers have taken home a win with the National Tour.

Before a lap could be completed, Friday's preliminary winner, Greg Hodnett spun, in turn, one to bring out the caution flag. He would restart at the tail, while up front, Garner took the point ahead of two-time event winner Wayne Johnson and Aaron Reutzel. Jamie Ball maneuvered by Reutzel for third on lap two.

Garner used the low side, as he and Johnson separated themselves from the field and entered lapped traffic on the tenth circuit. A lap later, Brian Brown, who started 12th, was into the top five. The last caution came with 13 laps in the books as Calvin Landis slowed to a stop without brakes.
Garner led Johnson, Ball, Reutzel, and Brown back to green flag racing. Johnson got a run under Garner at the cone but was shut down into turn one. That sent him up the track, and Ball got by him for second. Meanwhile, Brown jumped by Reutzel into fourth. Johnson would use the low side to shoot back by Ball.

Brown would slide in front of Ball on lap sixteen to take third. Garner continued his mastery up front on the cushion. Johnson would bobble in the marbles on lap 19, and Brown would reel him in. While Garner sailed away up front, Brown took second with four laps to go.
The win was Garner's 33rd career triumph here in the 360 class, second on the all-time list only to David Hesmer. Brown came home second as the hard-charger, ahead of Johnson, Reutzel, and Ball. Christopher Bell, Sam Hafertepe Jr., Jeff Swindell, Tim Shaffer and Hodnett, who recovered from the tail, rounded out the top ten.

Dusty Zomer led the way in the non-stop 15-lap B Main, while Joey Saldana had an impressive drive to win the C. Lee Grosz won the D main. The C main saw the most incidents. Scott Bogucki came to a stop, in turn, one, and collected Matt Egel, who got upside down. Cody Ledger, who had a minor fire after the D main, was also a flip victim in the C. No one was injured.

"It did get to the point where it was the 'win it or wear it' moment," said an emotional Garner in Victory Lane. "I ran the heck out of it. It's just a guessing game out front. You have no clue where everyone else is going and what's happening. I wish I could say it's easy, but it's so hard to do. This is definitely the biggest win of my career. I'm so happy, and there are so many people here. A lot of these guys race for a living and they know how hard I try to keep up with them. They know when I can beat them, it is special. I'm proud to be a working man that races on the weekend. I'm more proud that I just beat a bunch of professionals. I think we were 12th quick in hot laps and there were a lot of questions flying. There was a gear change that we had to make. I'm so proud of my guys."

"Clint has been coming here a lot of years," said Brown. "He has a true sprint car family. His brother, his Dad...I'm envious of him. That's what racing's all about. If I can't win it, I'm glad he was able to. He should have won it three times by now. It was a great effort by our team. I was hoping for one more yellow. Twelfth to second is nothing to hang our head about."

"I suckered (Garner) on the first start. I knew I wouldn't get another chance at it. Then he got the lead. He started running the top, and I felt like I was better than him on the bottom. The caution came out with twelve to go and took the lapped traffic away. I wasn't catching him late in the race, so I went to the top. I just opened the door for Brown there to slide me. We've struggled quite a bit at times in the last seven or eight months. So we can't hang our head about finishing third behind the two guys that probably have more laps here than anyone. Congratulations to Clint. Those guys work hard, and they're good friends of mine."

Eric Bridger led early in the 15-lap 305 feature. The current point leader set sail, ahead of Matthew Stelzer and Ryan Leavitt. The only caution of the event came on lap nine when the fourth place car of Joe Simbro slowed.

Bridger would lead the field back to green, dogged by Stelzer. Kade Higday quickly moved into third. Stelzer would use the cushion to work around Bridger and take the lead with two laps to go. When he missed his mark in the middle of the track on the next lap, however, Bridger would retake the point and the rookie would go on to win his second feature of the year here. Stelzer, Higday, Tyler Glass and Leavitt followed. Kelby Watt, Mike Mayberry, Evan Epperson, Chris Walraven and Rob Kubli completed out the top ten. Bridger set quick time, while Glass and Watt were heat winners.

"I about gave that one away," said Bridger in Victory Lane. "I must have gotten slower. I just got looser and looser. Luckily, we started on the front row and got the job done. That was pretty close. We were able to come out on top. He may have made a mistake in turn three and let me get back to the low side. I just have to thank my crew. I didn't do that last time."

The Lucas Oil ASCS presented by the MAVTV Motorsports Network will be off until Sunday, August 20 when the tour hits the "Historic Half-Mile" Missouri State Fair Speedway during the Missouri State Fair. The event is co-sanctioned with the Speedway Motors ASCS Warrior Region presented by Impact Signs, Awnings, and Wraps.

Hodnett Dominates Night 2 of the 27th Knoxville ASCS 360 Nationals presented by Great Southern Bank!

Bill Wright/Bryan Hulbert - KNOXVILLE, Iowa (August 4, 2017) - Greg Hodnett won a three-way battle for the lead and cruised to his first career ASCS 360 win at the Knoxville Raceway, as well as first Lucas OIl ASCS presented by the MAVTV Motorsports Network score, on night two of the Knoxville 360 Nationals presented by Great Southern Bank.

The win, aboard the Heffner Racing No. 27, was worth $3,000 for the Thomasville, Pennsylvania native. Clint Garner and Wayne Johnson emerged as the two high-point drivers heading into Saturday night's $15,000 to win finale. They'll sit on the front row, with Nate Van Haaften and Jamie Ball in row two, and Aaron Reutzel and Tim Shaffer making up the third row.

Trey Starks led Brian Brown and Jeff Swindell to start the 20-lap feature event. Brown would shoot under Starks to lead lap two. Hodnett was up to third by lap four, and shortly after, Sawyer Phillips spun in turn three.

Brown led Starks, Hodnett, Swindell and Wayne Johnson back to green flag racing. Starks shot by Brown back into the lead when the green fell, while Johnson moved into fourth. Hodnett stuck his car to the low side, taking second on lap six. Two laps later, he was by Starks into the lead and checking out.
One final caution for a stopped Parker Price-Miller at the halfway point set up a ten lap Dash. At the time, Hodnett led Starks, Brown, Johnson, and Garner. Brown moved into second, while Garner took fourth and Swindell got back into fifth.

No one had anything for Hodnett, who took off from the field like a galloping horse. Brown was second, followed by Starks, Garner, and Swindell. Dusty Zomer, Van Haaften, Wayne Johnson, hard-charger Sam Hafertepe Jr. and Christopher Bell completed the top ten. Garner set quick time over the field, while Johnny Herrera, Ryan Giles, Zomer, Scott Bogucki and Tim Kaeding won heats. Ryan Leavitt won the C main in his first ever 360 start, while Hafertepe won the B.

"Mr. Aliquippa himself (Tim Shaffer), the 'Steel City Outlaw' got 'er done last night," said Hodnett in Victory Lane. "We were fortunate enough to take advantage of a pretty decent starting spot. We had a good race car and we came out on top in this one. It's been a long time since we've been up here. I didn't even know how to get here. I'm just very fortunate and very blessed to have this car, car owner and the guys who work on it. I'm very thankful. This is really important. We come out here one time a year and get minimal laps here. We don't get as many as we used to with the Outlaws. This is hard to do. These guys are tough, and it's hard to do. We're going to keep working as a team to get better."

"I'm just a little disappointed in the driver," said Brown. "You get guys like Greg and Trey Starks, and you give them opportunities...they're going to make it count. For Greg to come back from Pennsylvania and put it on us says something about how strong his team is. Greg is a true ambassador to our sport. To run second to him isn't the end of the world. I just feel I didn't run 20 good laps. I need to make better laps and better decisions as a driver. We'll come back tomorrow and hopefully, I can do my job."

"I wish I had more laps around here and knew how to run the bottom," said Starks. "The bottom was hooked up, and good and fast. I just tried to run the top as hard as I possibly could. That was a fun one with Greg and Brian there. I can't really complain very much. Hopefully, we're set up good for tomorrow."

The 27th Annual Knoxville 360 Nationals presented by Great Southern Bank comes to a close tomorrow night, August 5! The 305 sprint car class will also be in action. For more information, visit www.KnoxvilleRaceway.com!

Pittman Scores First Win of 2017 at Federated Auto Parts Raceway at I-55

PEVELY, MO - August 5, 2017 - It's been a long time coming for Daryn Pittman, who secured his first win of the season Friday night at Federated Auto Parts Raceway at I-55. The 2014 World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series Champion has had a trying season by his standards. Friday night, he was able to fend off the eight-time and defending Series Champion Donny Schatz, including on a late-race restart with six laps to go.

"Man, I needed that. I think this team needed that," a relieved Daryn Pittman said upon exiting his Great Clips No. 9 for his first win of the 2017 season Friday night at Federated Auto Parts Raceway at I-55.

The Craftsman Club Dash draw was four putting Sheldon Haudenschild and Paul McMahan on the front row. Haudenschild and McMahan led laps in the dash before giving way to Pittman on the third circuit.

"I'm blessed to be able to drive for Kasey [Kahne]," Pittman said in Victory Lane. "I was on the phone with him all night. He worked on this thing during the week and put in a setup that I would have bet everything in the world would not have worked," Pittman said with a smile. "Thanks to DIRTVision.com for the great coverage so he could watch up in New York."

Although Pittman led all 35 laps it was far from an easy victory. Donny Schatz stalked the Owasso, Oklahoma-native for the majority of the race.

"You get nervous when you're leading, even when it is hard to pass, when that No. 15 car is behind you. He has stolen more than one rubber race away from me pretty late," Pittman said of the eight-time series champion, Schatz.

Schatz took a peak to the outside of the Kasey Kahne Racing No. 9 momentarily in turn three, "You got to try something if given the opportunity," the current Series point leader said." All around it's a decent finish. We haven't been in the top three here in a little bit, so I'm glad to get to a good finish."

Sheldon Haudenschild came home third, in what was his Federated Auto Parts Raceway at I-55 debut. "I'm happy. I feel like we haven't been on the podium since California," Haudenschild said jokingly. Although it was Sheldon's first visit to Pevely, his crew chief Bonzai and father, Jac, have many laps around the bullring. "Having Bonzai on our team for these tracks I've never been to has been huge," Sheldon, the leading contender for Kevin Gobrecht Rookie of the Year, reiterated.

Kraig Kinser and Brad Sweet completed the top five. The first twelve drivers across the finish line were World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series regulars, with last year's Ironman 55 winner, Rico Abreu, finishing 13th. Brandon Hanks was the KSE Hard Charger coming from 23rd to 16th aboard his No. 84 machine.

The World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series returns to the Federated Auto Parts Raceway at I-55 Saturday night August 5th for the running of the Ironman 55, which pays $20,000 to win. Grandstands open at 2pm.

Accord, NY- A One Night Flight Finds Andy Bachetti Sizzling Hot In Convincing Win In Exciting Accord Speedway Modified Action
By: Steve Pados, Accord Speedway Media

On a hazy but warm summer day in the Catskill Mountains of New York State that threatened to rain but didn't, the Accord Speedway swung back into race mode on Friday evening. With temperatures in the low 80's and a warm gentle breeze blowing across the speedway grounds, Promoters Gary and Donna Palmer reeled off an outstanding racing card for the large crowd on hand that witnessed the excellent racing action. The superb evening of speed was sponsored by the good folks at Emmanuel's Marketplace (www.emmanuelsmarketplace.com) and was highlighted by the running of the Ernie Beesmer Memorial event for the Modified division. Even though the racing was held up and began later due to a faulty ambulance, all of the events were completed by 11PM.

The final outcome of the great evening of racing action found "The Wild Child" Andy Bachetti returning to the Accord Speedway in a one night flight from his regular track to steer his Garrity Asphalt Reclaiming sponsored hot rod to his first Accord Speedway win in quite some time. He chose the right time to return as he garnered in a whopping $2,888.00 for his win in the Ernie Beesmer Memorial in the United Pump & Tank Modified headliner. Brandon "Juan Pablo" McGill nailed down his second win of the season in the Arkel Motors Sportsman finale. "The Highside Hustler" Eric Jennings was spot on as he recorded his fifth win of the season in the WRWD Radio NEWS Sprint Car feature event. Veteran campaigner Emerson Cargain Jr added his second win of the season as he raced to victory in the hotly contested Upstate Auto Pure Stock ranks. Ryan McCartney captured his second win of the season in the WRWD Radio Rookie Sportsman main event as he dominated the action in a wire to wire run. "The old Spring Kid" Jake Mason continues to excel at Accord as he wired the field for his seventh win at the speedway in the Want Ad Digest Junior Slingshot finale.

"The Concrete Kid" Kyle VanDuser used a front row start to kick off the United Pump and Tank Modified event and VanDuser would lead first nine laps of the 30-lap main event. "Primetime" Scott Ferrier stayed close as he quickly drove into the runner-up slot from his seventh starting position to tail VanDuser. Ferrier drove by VanDuser on lap ten and brought with him a high flying Anthony Perrego. Perrego challenged Ferrier but coming into the fight would be Andy Bachetti as he moved into third from his twelfth starting position. Bachetti was on a mission and could place his car in any channel of the speedway and be fast. He moved to the topside of the speedway on lap fourteen and passed both VanDuser and Perrego to assume command of the lead.

A restart closed the field on lap-19 but on the restart Bachetti opened up a huge lead on the field. As Bachetti got into slower traffic, Perrego was able to close the gap and make it close but Bachetti flashed under the checkered flag at the end of the thirty lap event a much richer man. Perrego was the runner-up in a solid drive from 11th starting place, Jerry Higbie came on strong at the end to finish third with Scott Ferrier and Danny Creeden completing the top five. The second five in order were Rich Ricci Jr, current point leader Danny Tyler, Mike Ricci, Richard Smith and Kyle VanDuser.

The Arkel Motors Sportsman event proved to be a great race as Chris VanDuser found the fast line at the top of the raceway and powered into the lead. Rich Ricci III followed VanDuser and the two broke away from the field early on. Some skirmishes would slow the action down on a few occasions but Brandon McGill on each restart would begin to make subtle moves on the leaders. McGill went to work on Ricci and slipped past him and then went to work on VanDuser. McGill took over the lead on lap-13 and while leading had to fight off the advances of Ricci and Kyle Rohner. The three way battle was exciting down to the last turn but McGill would not be denied on this night as he nabbed his second win of the season at Accord Speedway. Ricci III was second with a great performance while Rohner settled for third. Tony Kowlachuk and Tyler Johnston completed the top five. third. Following the top five were Corey Cormier, Dana Carey, Chris VanDuser, Shane Henion and Matt Shultz.

The WRWD Radio Rookie Sportsman feature attraction found Ryan McCartney with the hot hand as he powered into the lead at the drop of the green flag and he would open up some distance on the field with Michael Corbin in pursuit. Hunter Lapp would find his way to the front and moved past Corbin into second. McCartney would prove to be fast as he drove away from the field to secure his second win of the season. Lapp enjoyed a great run for second with Corbin third, Vinny Visconti fourth and Alex VanPelt fifth. The entire top five came through the ranks of Slingshot racing lending credence to the importance of starting out the drivers in a class where they can learn the ins and outs of racing and then be able to make a successful transition to the full-size cars. Kevin Stevens, Jeff Higham, John Miller, John Brown, John DeWitt and Keith Johannessen would complete the rest of the field.

Austin Smith grabbed the early lead in the Upstate Auto Pure Stock main event and would lead through the first three laps. Emerson Cargain Jr found the open channels of the speedway down low and powered into the lead. It proved to be the winning pass but behind Cargain four additional drivers were driving hard to find the winning move of their own. Travis Brockner pulled out all of the stops and pulled even on occasion but could not muster up a few more horsepower to unseat Cargain from the lead and he settled for second. Steve Williams was third with John Hechinger continuing to do great work with a fourth place finish while Chris Kanuk finished fifth. Austin Smith, Harry Bachman, Craig Cuneo and Ray Tarantino completed the field.

Bobby Tersillo grabbed the lead at the start of the WRWD Radio NEWS Sprint Car feature event. Tersillo was enjoying his best run of the season but jumped the cushion allowing Eric Jennings to make the winning move under him to take command of the lead. The move made the rest of the event purely academic as Jennings raced away from the field to gather in his fifth win of the season. Larry Ricci was a strong runner-up with Tersillo third, Larry McVay fourth, Andrew Davis Corey Wood, And newcomer Duane Nixon completing the field.

Jake Mason started from the inside pole position and quickly raced in to the lead at the start of the event. Mason opened up a big lead in the race and coasted to his seventh Accord Speedway win. Jaden Sleight was second with Ashton DeWitt third, Brock Pinkerous fourth and newcomer Kao DeWitt fifth.

GEMSTONES:

The good friends from Emmanuel's Marketplace were the headline sponsor for the evening.

Heat races were run off quickly and Sportsman heat wins went to Brandon McGill and Tyler Johnston. Ryan McCartney and John Miller captured the Rookie Sportsman heat events. Modified heats were claimed by Andy Bachetti, Ken Ferrier and Brian Malcolm while the B-Main for the Modifieds was claimed by Jimmy Wells. Bobby Tersillo won the Sprint heat. Steve Williams was victorious in the Pure Stock heat. Jake Mason captured the Junior Slingshot heat. .

New entries were arrived at the speedway as Tom Vasta and Anthony Recchio returned to action but both drivers stepping up to the Sportsman ranks. Duane Nixon was on hand with his Northeast Wingless Sprint Car in his debut and ran strong in his first Accord start. Kai DeWitt made his initial start in the Junior Slingshots with a K number reminiscent of a Karl Pittenger Modified.

Promoter Gary Palmer had the speedway in great racing form as the speedway again offered up to four and sometimes five distinct racing channels to the drivers to create some excellent side by side battles throughout the evening and for the most part all divisions produced some excellent racing for the fans.

A nice group of friends of Ernie Beesmer were on hand talking about Ernie and his exploits on the raceway. The photographs and trophies take one back to a more carefree time in life when things just seemed to go a lot easier than they do nowadays. Thank you to all of Ernie Beesmer's friends for a great evening at Accord.

The Gary Phillips Crew drove up from New Jersey to cheer for Kyle Rohner. Rohner steered the Phillips 600 Sprint at Hamlin a couple of seasons ago and Rohner has a lock on the one lap track record at Hamlin for the division. The car was sold by Phillips to graphic design man Adam Huff who now has placed Billy Pauch Jr in the machine at Kutztown

Best wishes go out to all of the Accord Speedway Junior Slingshot and All Star Slingshot drivers who will be taking part in the Slingshot Speedweeks racing at the various speedways on the tour schedule. The racing began this evening at Linda's Speedway and next Saturday's racing will be at the Hamlin Speedway with the final leg being hosted at Kutztown.

ASCS National Sprint Series

Tim Shaffer Tops Night 1 of the 27th Knoxville 360 Nationals presented by Great Southern Bank; Jamie Ball Leads the Points

Bill Wright/Bryan Hulbert - KNOXVILLE, Iowa (August 3, 2017) - Tim Shaffer led wire to wire to capture night #1 of the 27th Annual Knoxville 360 Nationals presented by Great Southern Bank Thursday night at Knoxville Raceway. The Aliquippa, Pennsylvania driver was paid $3,000 for his win aboard the Demyan/Rudzik Racing #49x. Jamie Ball emerged with the most points at 473, followed by Aaron Reutzel (471), Shaffer (470), Josh Baughman (467), Thomas Kennedy (467) and Seth Bergman (467).
The win is Tim Shaffer's second in Lucas Oil ASCS National competition. Keeping a theme of big event wins, the victory adds to his prelim night triumph on October 26, 2007, at I-30 Speedway's Short Track Nationals.

A surreal and ferocious accident started the 20-lap feature event. Jon Agan was tagged from behind, setting off a chain of events that sent Sammy Swindell careening into the front-stretch fence. That collected Alex Hill, Rager Phillips, Harli White and Jordyn Brazier. White and Brazier were able to make repairs under the open red, while Joe Beaver and Aaron Reutzel had to replace top wings as well. Fortunately, no one was hurt.

When the green flew again, Shaffer led Josh Baughman, Thomas Kennedy, Agan and Jamie Ball. A battle ensued for the second spot between Kennedy and Baughman. While Baughman remained true to the low side, Kennedy shot around the cushion. With six laps in the books, Jonathan Cornell's rear axle broke sending him sideways, collecting Beaver. Both would flip but were uninjured.

While Shaffer pulled away again on the restart, the battle continued for second. Baughman finally prevailed on lap 12. Agan was reeling in Kennedy as well, as those two exchanged third three times, with Agan grabbing the spot on the white flag lap. Ian Madsen went up in smoke while running tenth with two to go.

Shaffer would enter traffic late, but prevailed at the line. It was the 50th Annual Knoxville Nationals champion's first career 360 win here. Baughman followed, ahead of Agan, Kennedy, and Ball. Aaron Reutzel, Danny Lasoski, Seth Brahmer, hard-charger Seth Bergman and Matt Moro completed the top ten.

Rager Phillips set quick time at 15.826 seconds, a 360 Nationals record. Shaffer, Brazier, Skylar Prochaska, Carson McCarl and Lasoski were heat winners. Bergman claimed the B main.

"It's awesome," said Shaffer in Victory Lane. "It's about learning each other, learning the track, and doing the right things. We're here to get seat time. I've been here a lot, but you're always learning. (Crew Chief) Cody Jacobs gave me one heck of a race car tonight. At the end of the day, you have to put yourself in position for Saturday. We're here to have a good time and race."

"My guys gave me a great car and it took me a few laps to get comfortable with it," said Bergman. "We were racing with Kennedy there for eight or ten laps. I couldn't get him cleared, but once I did, we were running Shaff down. We were gaining a little bit. Maybe if we could have got to lapped traffic sooner, or had some more laps, we could have gotten to him. Congrats to him and his team."

"We were good, but yet again we weren't," said Agan. "We tried to make the best of it and do everything we could. We had a new race car here last week. We really didn't know what we had going in. I didn't rotate the center real well and Kennedy got past me. He came to the bottom, but we didn't touch. He opened up his entry a little bit and we were able to take it."

Danny Dietrich leads all 25 for $7,000 top prize at The Valley of Speed

WEST LEBANON, NY (July 30, 2017) - Wrapping up a weekend that included double round trips from Pennsylvania to New York, “Double-D” Danny Dietrich is now a two-time main event winner with the Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions in the state of New York, leading all 25 laps around the Lebanon Valley Speedway half-mile to score $7,000 for his part-time car owner, Tom Buch.

Dietrich’s dominating performance, crossing under the final checkers two seconds ahead of the running order, concluded a productive weekend in the Empire State for the Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, native; two podium finishes including a fourth place performance at Outlaw Speedway on Friday. The pilot of the Apex/Sweeney Cars/Pace Performance/DKW Transport/No. 13 is now an eight-time winner during Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions competition over the course of his young career; his first in New York since 2013.

“Man, this is such a big win for this team,” Danny Dietrich explained in victory lane. “This is Tom Buch’s first All Star win as a car owner, so this is obviously really special. It has been a long weekend; a lot of running around and covering a lot of miles. Luckily for me, I have great people who stand behind me. I can’t thank Tom enough for his opportunity. Unfortunately, I have to work tomorrow so there won’t be much celebrating tonight.”

After a caution during the opening circuit which forced a complete restart, it was “Double-D” Danny Dietrich earning the early advantage, driving by the flagstand for the first time with Caleb Armstrong and Chad Kemenah in tow. Despite an additional caution on lap three, as well as traffic coming into play as early as lap nine, Dietrich maintained a strong command, extending his advantage to nearly a half-straightaway before caution flags waved again on lap 14.

After a quick fuel stop, Dietrich brought the field back to life, quickly returning to his lengthy lead over Armstrong, Swindell and Kemenah. Dietrich’s advantage quickly grew to two seconds, but caution flags flew again on lap 18 erasing all of his momentum.

From that point forward, it was all Danny Dietrich at the front of the running order, quickly returning to his familiar half-straightaway command during the course of the final eight circuits, ultimately crossing under the final checkers two seconds ahead of Caleb Armstrong, Sammy Swindell, Chad Kemenah, and “Smoke” Tony Stewart.

“I figured we were in pretty good shape even after that fuel stop,” Dietrich said. “I felt comfortable the entire race, even after we got into some heavy traffic. Hopefully I can carry this momentum into August. We’ll be heading west in a few days.”

The Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions will not return to competition until Thursday evening, August 17, when the Series reunites with the notorious Pennsylvania Posse for a four-pack of events over four straight days. The return to Central Pennsylvania will include visits to Grandview Speedway in Bechtelsville on Thursday, August 17; Williams Grove Speedway in Mechanicsburg on Friday, August 18; Lincoln Speedway in Abbottstown on Saturday, August 19; and Susquehanna Speedway near York Haven on Sunday, August 20.

More news and notes pertaining to the Arctic Cat All Star weekend in Central Pennsylvania will be posted in the near future. Fans are encouraged to stay tuned online at www.allstarsprint.com.

About the Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions:
