CHILLICOTHE, OH (April 9, 2017) - In dramatic fashion, Alvada, Ohio’s Chad Kemenah scored his first Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions victory of the 2017 season on Sunday night in Chillicothe, Ohio, driving around race leader Lee Jacobs on the final circuit to score $5,000 at Atomic Speedway. The five-time and defending Arctic Cat All Star champion, who started sixth on the main event grid, used a late-race caution and a wide, slicked-off racing surface to help stage his dramatic finish.

“Before heading out for the feature, my car owner, who is the greatest guy in the world, told me ‘remember, this is where we won our championship.’ That really gives you something to think about before going out to race,” Chad Kemenah explained. “I can’t say enough about Rob Hunter and this team. My brother does one heck of a job. He really makes my job easy.”

Outside pole-sitter Lee Jacobs took command during the drop of the initial green flag, soon followed by fellow full-time All Star Ryan Smith and Lockbourne, Ohio, native Cole Duncan to complete lap number one. Jacobs maintained control for the first 29 circuits, at one point separating himself from the rest of the field by nearly three seconds. Traffic came into play for the first time on lap eight, eventually allowing Armstrong, who overtook the second position just before halfway, and Duncan to close-in on the 1881 Racing/Simcox Grinding & Steel/No. 81.

Chad Kemenah, who already climbed two positions to find himself just outside of a podium spot, caught a big break on lap 20 when Duncan and Armstrong made contact with a spinning lapped car between turns one and two, also nearly collecting Lee Jacobs. Armstrong would get the worst of the incident and suffer from a flat left rear tire, forcing the New Castle, Indiana, native to restart at the rear of the field. Despite wing damage, Duncan maintained his position in the running order; keeping momentum and not stopping on the race track after making contact. With Armstrong surrendering his position, Kemenah moved into third for the restart, eventually moving by Duncan for second on lap 22.

Chasing Jacobs through traffic, Kemenah made his bid for the top spot on the 30th and final circuit, driving by Jacobs at the exit of turn two and surviving a last-ditch effort pass by the No. 81 through the final corner. Lee Jacobs would hold on to finish second, followed by Ryan Smith, Cole Duncan, and Dale Blaney.

For Kemenah, the victory was the 31st of his career during Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions competition and his second at Atomic Speedway. With his victory, equaling his third top-five finish of the 2017 Arctic Cat All Star season, the pilot of the Hunter Racing/Seneca Energy/No. 10H officially takes command of the Arctic Cat All Star championship point chase.

“The clearer the race track got, the better I got. We didn’t have a spectacular qualifying effort here tonight, but my crew kept plugging away. This is probably one of my favorite race tracks in the country. I want to thank all of you for coming out here and supporting [Brad McCown] and this race. Hopefully we put on one heck of a show for you guys,” said Chad Kemenah as he addressed the crowd.

The Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions will return to competition in less than a week, revisiting Attica Raceway Park in Attica, Ohio, on Saturday, April 15, for the 2017 HD Supply Spring Nationals. “America’s Series” last visited the home of “Ohio’s Finest Racing” on Saturday, September 3, during the inaugural Dirt Classic Ohio. Wooster, Ohio’s Sheldon Haudenschild scored the $10,000 top prize; the 13th Arctic Cat All Star victory of his career and his second-ever at Attica Raceway Park. The HD Supply Spring Nationals visit will go down in the books as the 113th total appearance at Attica Raceway Park by the Arctic Cat All Stars since their first visit on September 4, 1989.

HD Supply Spring Nationals gates are scheduled to open at 3:00pm on Saturday, April 15. Action will hit the speedway at 6:00pm, sharp, beginning with hot laps and qualifying time trials, followed by heat races and respective main events. Those who would like to learn more should visit Attica Raceway Park live on the Web at www.atticaracewaypark.com.

Abreu Closes Out Western Swing in Victory Lane Arizona Speedway

Gravel and Brown finish on the podium at Arizona Desert Shootout

QUEEN CREEK, AZ - April 8, 2017 - Coming into the Arizona stretch of the 2017 season, the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series full-time drivers scored wins in first 12 events of the season. That stat changed after Brian Brown ran away with the Yuma Valley Showdown at Cocopah Speedway on Friday Night. The outsiders were looking to make it two-for-two in Arizona when the Series visited the Arizona Speedway for the second time in their history.

For the second night in a row, Brown started from the pole position. After jumping out to an early lead, Brown opened up a half-second lead over Abreu after a pass attempt that didn't stick.

On lap 12 of the 30-lap Arizona Desert Shootout, David Gravel who was running third made a move on Jason Sides to move him inside the top three.

At the half-way point, Abreu, from St. Helena, CA closed the gap on Brown while he was dealing with lap traffic and took advantage of the opportunity and threw a perfectly executed slide-job pass on Brown in Turn 2 to vault him into the lead.

"It's so easy to slow down to someone's pass, especially when they're in traffic," said Rico Abreu. "You've got to be committed on your slide jobs - that's what I do nowadays. I got a little impatient when we got to lap traffic but once I cleared some lap cars I felt really confident and made the move. I just tried to save my tires for the end as I knew it was going to get trickier for someone to peel off and pass."

While Abreu was making his move on Brown, Gravel was also able to sneak his No. 5 GoMuddy.com machine by for second.

"[traffic] started to play an issue there but I'm happy with a second-place finish," said David Gravel. "It was a really fun race with a lot of sliders. I just wanted to thank all my guys and everyone at CJB Motorsports. We'll take a second and move onto next week."

Out front as the leader, Abreu was left to navigate his way around heavy lap traffic but Abreu made quick work and was able to grow his lead to a one-second advantage.

As the laps started to tick away, Gravel worked his way back up to the rear bumper of Abreu. With just a few laps remaining, Gravel didn't get the opportunity to get by Abreu to add to his win total, instead it was Rico Abreu playing spoiler to the Outlaw regulars as the outsiders swept the Arizona weekend.

The Outlaws will head back east after a spending a month on the west coast of the United States for a makeup race at Gator Motorplex on Thursday April 13. A trip back to the place where it all started for the Outlaws at Devil's Bowl Speedway for a doubleheader on April 14 and 15.

ASCS National Sprint Series

Hafertepe Remains Perfect With Lucas Oil ASCS Following Texas Motor Speedway Sweep

FT. WORTH, Texas (April 8, 2017)... Sam Hafertepe, Jr. continued his dominance of the 2017 season with the Lucas Oil American Sprint Car Series presented by the MAVTV Motorsports Network with his fourth win in as many nights this past Saturday to complete the weekend sweep of Tony Stewart's Texas Sprint Car Nationals presented by Machinery Auctioneers at the Texas Motor Speedway Dirt Track.
Asked about his run in Victory Lane, Sam replied, "It was predominantly top groove track, so it made it tough to get around lapped cars so we weren't going to make any dumb moves and try to force anything. We've been in that situation several times, but I knew we had a good enough car and we didn't have to flex our muscles early. At some point, we could take care of it."

On the weekend and the crowd on hand, Sam thanked Tony Stewart and the Texas Motor Speedway crew hosting the event. Setting a new series record with four consecutive victories, Hafertepe added his fourth triumph at the Texas Motor Speedway to his resume'.

Gridding the lineup on the pole, Sam would play the role of hunter as Wayne Johnson jetted off with the lead. Chasing the Outlaw Wings No. 2c down, the pair began going slide for slide around the Texas Motor Speedway Dirt Track on the third round. Showing Hafertepe leading, the slide-jobs did not stop for several laps before the No. 15h earned some breathing room. Working back to Sam's rear bumper as the pair worked slower traffic, the race was brought to a halt on Lap 10 for a crash in turn four involving Kyle Bellm and John Carney II, of which both drivers were unharmed.

Jettisoning to a sizable advantage on the restart, Hafertepe was untouchable. Through traffic, the No. 15h slid by with ease as the race from second through fifth was anyone guess.

Back and forth between Aaron Reutzel, Josh Baughman, and Christopher Bell, the battle came to a head as Bell tried to slow for a slower car while racing under Aaron Reutzel; sending his No. 88 machine up the track where both drivers would flip into the turn four catch fence. Both drivers were okay.

Moving Baughman to second and Johnson back into the top-three, there was no catching the No. 15h, who crossed the line 2.231 seconds ahead of the PPG No. 17.

Wayne Johnson brought his Oil Medics No. 2c home on the final podium step with Tony Stewart coming from 11th to fourth in the Rush Truck Centers No. 14. The top-five rounded out with the MVT No. 45x of Johnny Herrera.

From 14th, Seth Bergman raced to a sixth place finish with Blake Hahn charging from 17th to seventh. Matt Covington found the eighth position with Sammy Swindell from 18th to ninth. South Dakota's Justin Henderson completed the top-ten.

Overall, the weekend saw 40 drivers in attendance, of which 38 took part in Saturday's program. Four Heat Races went to Johnny Herrera, Tony Stewart, Chance Morton, and Christopher Bell. Qualifier wins went to Josh Baughman, Justin Henderson, and Kyle Bellm. The B-Mains were topped by Blake Hahn and Sammy Swindell. One provisional start was granted to Kade Morton through the ASCS Red River Region.

The Lucas Oil ASCS presented by the MAVTV Motorsports Network returns to action on Saturday, April 15 at the Historic Half-Mile, Missouri State Fair Speedway in Sedalia, Mo.

URC SPRINTS JOIN BIG BLOCKS, CRATE/SPORTSMAN AND ROOKIES IN BRIDGEPORT SPEEDWAY EVENT

Action returns to the Bridgeport Speedway this weekend as the winged warriors of the United Racing Club return to the 5/8th mile speedway in addition to the Spirit Auto Center Big Block Modifieds, Stewart Stainless Crate Sportsman and DA’s Auto Body & Repair Rookies.

URC welcomes title sponsor, Capitol Renegade for the 2017 season. Capitol Renegade – “The Headquarters” for all you Race Transport Needs – is a good match for the traveling sprint car club who is celebrating their 70th Anniversary season as America’s oldest traveling sprint car series. This will be the third consecutive year that URC has opened their season at the Bridgeport Speedway.

2016 URC Champion, Davie Franek picked up his first of seven wins in the Bridgeport opener on his way to his second career URC Championship.

Josh Weller is looking forward to returning to Bridgeport where he picked up one his four wins last season during Bridgeport’s Three for All event during mid-season. Weller returned to the cockpit of his family owned equipment in 2016 and had a momentous season. Weller is hoping to carry that momentum into the new season.

With nine URC titles to his credit, Curt Michael is looking forward to the season opener. Michael picked up a Brideport win last year during URC’s Big Track Classic weekend, winning the Friday night event while Lucas Wolfe earned his win on the next night. Bridgeport is special to Michael who won the 2015 season opener to celebrate his 50th win in URC competition.

There will be one URC competitor who will be very familiar to Bridgeport Speedway fans as Kris Lilick has made the switch from Crate/Sportsman competition to sprint cars for the 2017 season. Lilick tried his hand in a second Haggenbottom No. 24 during the Big Track Classic weekend and will race full time with URC this season.

Stewart Friesen was the feature winner of the only Big Block Modified race so far this season after capturing the win in the 60 Over Special/Doug Hoffman Memorial, taking the lead from Jeff Strunk in the final laps of the forty-four lap event. Strunk will be in the field Sunday, looking for his first ever Bridgeport Big Block Modified feature win but he has his work cut out for him.

Two time Bridgeport Big Block Champion, Ryan Watt had his Roberts Racing No. 14w in mid-season form during the opener but his efforts were derailed twice by flat tires. Watt had raced up to third before making his first visit to the pits. After restarting at the rear of the field, Watt had just raced back into the top five when fate struck once again.

Other Bridgeport regulars will be on hand to defend their home turf against the invaders. Sam Martz was one of the three drivers to lead laps in the season opener. Rick Laubach was sidelined with mechanical ills with the Gary & Lori Hermann No. 7 during the opener, after picking up the win in the Small Block Modifed event the night before. Dominick Buffalino made his presence known during the opening weekend and will certainly be looking for his first checkered flag of the season in addition to Neal Williams, Richie Pratt, Jr., Wade Hendrickson, Tommy Beamer, David Hunt, Jamie Mills, Ron Roberts, Jesse Hill and a host of others.

Brian Papiez picked up the Crate/Sportsman win during the 60 Over weekend and will be looking forward to continuing his winning ways. Chris Jenkins had his best ever finish during the 60 Over Weekend. After leading the first half of last week’s race, Jenkins will be looking for that first checkered flag in the races to come. Roger Manning and Kevin Belmont debuted new equipment during the first weekend of the season and will be competing for their share of the purse as will Stephen Kemery, Brad Roberts, Matt Stangle, Billy Briggs, Scott Hulmes and others.

DA’s Auto Body & Repair Rookies division is one of the biggest to date. There were three lead changes during their first eight lap feature event, promising a very exciting Rookie season in 2017. Kevin Britt, brother of Modified driver, Jim Britt, picked up the win after Eric Mattson and Tom Errico Jr. both led several laps.

The green flag will wave on the Bridgeport Speedway at 4pm on Sunday with four divisions of racing coming your way. Come early and enjoy the musical entertainment as well as the delectable offerings of the Bridgeport Speedway concession stands. Or take a ride on the Bandit Bus and view the behind the scenes action in the pit area while the competitors prepare for the racing program. Keep up to date with the latest news with the Bridgeport Bullet, the official program of the Bridgeport Speedway.

The Bridgeport Speedway is committed to maintaining a safe, fun, family atmosphere, creating life-lasting memories.

'Blackjack' Brian Brown Returns to Victory Lane at Cocopah Speedway

Browns first World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series victory in three years

SOMERTON, AZ - April 7, 2017 - Brian Brown ousted the field in the Yuma Valley Showdown at Cocopah Speedway for his first World of Outlaws Craftsman® Sprint Car Series win in over three years. It was a race where track position was key and Brown had just that by starting on the pole of the 30-lap Feature event. Donny Schatz grabbed his tenth top-five of the season with a runner-up finish.

By winning the Craftsman Club® Dash, Brian Brown was awarded the pole position - a starting position that proved to be invaluable. At the drop of the green flag, the Grain Valley, MO-driver quickly jumped out to an early lead over the 24-car field.

"This is awesome, we've had a rough couple of nights," said Brian Brown. "It's been an awesome start to the year, but the last couple of nights haven't been good. The [crew] had a talk before the race and decided to hit the reset button. We've been in position to win some of these races this year, we just haven't capitalized. To beat these guys is an honor and we're excited to get to [Arizona Speedway] tomorrow. I can't thank Casey General Stores, FVP and my crew enough for this."

With Jason Sides settling into the second position from the get go, Sheldon Haudenschild tried to strike early at advancing his position with a slide job on Sides. The aggressive move didn't stick however, proving costly as Schatz took advantage and vaulted into the fourth position.

The field started to search for more moisture on the track and eventually saw the groove move from the top of the 3/8th-mile oval down to the bottom. With leaders quickly approaching lap traffic, Schatz who was running third was able to get by Sides to move him into the runner-up position.

"We had a decent enough car to win but the way the track played out we had to be another row forward," said Donny Schatz. "Everyone's tires were bald and it was one groove in Turns 1 and 2 but Turn 3 and 4 had two grooves, we just used so much tires at the end. Just happy to salvage a second-place finish."

The only slow down on the day for World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series came on lap 25 of the 30-lap Feature event. The No. 13 of Clyde Knipp and Shane Stewart tangled in Turn 4; Stewart was able to rejoin the field, while Knipp's night was done early as he got a tow to the infield.

On the ensuing single-file restart Brown got off to a quick restart and jumped out to a five car-length lead over the No. 15 Arctic Cat machine of Donny Schatz. Making one last-ditch effort at Brown, Schatz came up unsuccessful allowing Brown to cruise to his first win of the 2017 season and his third career World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series win.

After experiencing motor issues during qualifying, Daryn Pittman and the No. 9 Great Clips Kasey Kahne Racing team changed power plants before the heat race. Pittman was able to qualify into the Feature event through the Last Chance Showdown to start 22nd on the field. The KSE Hard Charger gained positions during the feature to finish 14th.

The World of Outlaws head east for a stop at the Arizona Speedway for the Arizona Desert Showdown on Saturday, April 8th to wrap up the Western Spring swing before making their way back to Texas for a make-up show at Gator Motorplex on Thursday, April 13th and Devil's Bowl for a two-night event on April 14 and 15. ASCS National Sprint Series

From 13th, Sam Hafertepe, Jr. Wins At Texas Motor Speedway

FT. WORTH, Texas (April 7, 2017)... While several drivers have entered the season with back-to-back wins with the Lucas Oil American Sprint Car Series presented by the MAVTV Motorsports Network, Sam Hafertepe, Jr. is the first to go three-for-three right out of the gate; adding his third win in as many outings with a dominating run from 13th at the Texas Motor Speedway Dirt Track.

The opening night of Tony Stewart's Texas Sprint Car Nationals presented by Machinery Auctioneers, the win is also Hafertepe's third at the Texas Motor Speedway Dirt Track since 2014.

"My third win here, I feel like we're getting pretty comfortable here, but I have to thank these fans for coming out tonight. I tried to make it an exciting race, and I think we did coming from 13th," said Hafertepe who is also Friday's CP-Carrillo Hard Charger of the Night.

Utilizing the high side of the Texas Motor Speedway Dirt Track, Sam was all the way to fifth by the third round. Cracking the top three following a Lap 5 restart for Blake Hahn, who flipped in turn two without injury, Sam restarted third and began working a line unlike anyone on the racing surface.

Giving chase to Wayne Johnson, the Outlaw Wings No. 2c rolled the bottom while Hafertepe set a diamond through turns one and two, then low in three and four. From a half straightaway behind to Wayne's back bumper, the Hwy. 79 Collision No. 15h rolled to the race lead on Lap 10.

Finding the back of the field at the race's mid-point, Sam rolled into slower traffic with ease as the No. 15h was able to catch drivers slipping the bottom line, giving the resident of Sunnyvale a 4.852 second advantage at the checkered flag.

Wayne Johnson rolled across the line second with Aaron Reutzel third. Danny Jennings earned the final transfer into Saturday's A-Main. Dustin Morgan, while one spot shy of a transfer, picked up his first top-five of the 2017 season. Tommy Bryant sixth was trailed by Matt Covington, Danny Lasoski, Josh Baughman, and Tony Stewart who started 16th on the grid.
With 40 cars on hand, five Heat Races went to Sam Hafertepe, Jr., Danny Jennings, Wayne Johnson, James Mosher, and Tony Stewart. Qualifier wins were earned by Danny Lasoski, Dustin Morgan, and John Carney II. Two B-Feature scores went to Sammy Swindell and Alex Hill.

Tony Stewart's Texas Sprint Car Nationals presented by Machinery Auctioneers continues on Saturday, April 8, 2017 with Hot Laps getting underway at 7:00 P.M. (CDT). For more information, log onto www.texasmotorspeedway.com.

In honor of the passing of their family patriarch, the family of Craig Pellegrini Jr., who is the driver of the number 27 Mid-Atlantic Sprint Series Racesaver 305 Sprint Car, have graciously chosen to sponsor the top five finishers of the Season Opener at Bridgeport Speedway on April 30th in memory of Albert A Pellegrini, Craig’s car owner, grandfather and mentor, who passed away earlier this year.

“My grandfather was a dedicated race fan who just loved going to the races when he could,” Pellegrini Jr. noted. “As a child, I can remember spending my weekends with him and my dad at Bridgeport Speedway on Saturday nights, and also he often liked coming and watching me race go karts when we ran them before moving into a full-sized Sprint. With this being the first race of the season since his passing, and also with it being the first race for the Mid-Atlantic Sprint Series, we couldn’t have thought of a better way to remember him by then raising the ante on opening day in his name”.

Albert A Pellegrini of Buena, NJ, was a zoning officer for Buena Vista township for over twenty-five years, and also was employed by Bernal Mechanical for over thirty years as an estimator and purchasing agent. Pellegrini also owned a gas station in Vineland, NJ where he would build and work on racecars that he raced at Vineland Speedway. Dedicated to his work and family, Albert never wanted anything less for his three sons and grandchildren whom he was survived by.

“He really made me smile at the track, and he always knew what was best for me,” Craig Jr. recalls. “We were really looking forward to this upcoming season because we were finally going to be racing closer to home, but his memory will keep me going, and I will always be thinking of him and what he strived for me to be - FAST”.

On April 30th at Bridgeport Speedway, which is dubbed as the “fastest dirt track in the east”, members of the Mid-Atlantic Sprint Series will be able to race for an increased purse thanks to the Pellegrini Family. The winner of the twenty lap feature event will take home $500, with second claiming $300, third place will receive $225, fourth place will get $175, and fifth place will collect the advertized $150 plus a brand new Hoosier Racesaver Spec right rear tire. Additional bonuses, including $50 dollars to each heat race winner, and other added weekly contingency bonuses will also be up for grabs to MASS members.

Confirmed entries to the series opener on Sunday April 30th in addition to Craig Pellegrini Jr. are Tim Tanner, Tommy Carberry, Bryant Davis, Stef Carberry, Joe Kay, Eddie Wagner, Jeff Geiges, David Bonner, Logan Diehl, Rick Stief, Bryant Davis, Brendon Poff, Harris Kohen, and Dave Brown Jr. to name a few. A list of seven brand new rookie racers who will making their debut on the 30th include Patrick Compton, Austin Burke, Bobby Schreff, Dean Conk Jr., Tom Carberry, Doug Snow, and John Webster Jr.
