410 SPRINTS & MODIFIEDS IN 4 FEATURE PROGRAM ON TUESDAY NIGHT AT GRANDVIEW SPEEDWAY
A big night of racing is set for Grandview Speedway on Tuesday night, July 26 for the second Annual 410 Sprint Thunder Cup & Modified double header. As a result of the June28 rain out, the remaining twenty laps of 410 sprint feature and a 30 lap modified feature will be added to the Tuesday night, July 26 racing program. With a big night of racing planned, the starting time will be moved to 7PM for time trials.
The first feature of the night will find Greg Hodnett in the lead position to restart the remaining twenty laps of the 410 sprint feature. Following Hodnett will be Brent Marks, Lucas Wolfe, Stevie Smith, Doug Esh, TJ Stutts and a cast of stars to include Danny Dietrich, Alan Krimes and don’t forget, Ryan Smith who will restart at the back of field. Smith was leading the event, then tangled with another car, displaying the yellow flag when the rain began to fall on June 28. Smith will be on a mission to get to the front of the field.
This events pays $5,000 to the winner, $1,000 for tenth and $400 to take the green. The 30 lap modified feature is next on the order of events followed by some track prep before starting a complete program of qualifying for both the 410 sprints and modifieds all leading up to the 35 lap 410 Sprint Thunder Cup and the 30 lap modified feature.
Advance tickets may be reserved by calling 443 513 4456. Be sure to leave your name and number of tickets. You may pay for and pick up your tickets on race night at 4 PM. Advance ticket holders may enter the grandstand at 4:30 PM, one-half hour prior to general admission tickets going on sale.
Gates will open at 5 PM with race time set to get underway at 7 PM.
General admissions tickets are $25 for adults, $10 for children 6-11 and children five and under will be admitted Free. The pit fee is $35 and a license is not required.

Rico Abreu Scores $12,500 for Dirt Classic Indiana Victory at Kokomo Speedway!
KOKOMO, IN (July 23, 2016) - Rico Abreu scored big on Saturday night at Kokomo Speedway in Kokomo, Indiana, earning the inaugural Dirt Classic Indiana title worth $12,500 against Tony Stewart’s Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions. Abreu took command officially on lap 24 of the 40-lap main event, using a textbook slide job to work beyond Wooster, Ohio’s Sheldon Haudenschild. The victory, earned from the inside of row three, gives Abreu three on the season with the Arctic Cat All Stars, increasing his career total to five.
“I just want to thank all of the fans for coming out tonight,” Rico Abreu said. “There was a lot stuff going on in Indianapolis. For you guys to choose to come racing with us instead is really cool and we all really appreciate it. I gotta thank the Dirt Classic staff, Tony Stewart, and the All Stars for making this happen. We just really enjoy doing this. Even on the bad nights, we still really enjoy this, and we should, because we are all pretty lucky to just be out here racing.”
Lined up according to points accumulated on Friday and Saturday, Friday night’s Prelude to the Dirt Classic Indiana winner Christopher Bell and five-time Arctic Cat All Star winner Sheldon Haudenschild led the 24 feature starters to green. Haudenschild jumped to the early advantage, leading Bell and Rico Abreu at the completion of lap one. Unfortunately for Haudenschild, early momentum would cease with red flag conditions halting the field on lap two. Randy Hannagan, Bryan Clauson, and Kraig Kinser were all involved and unharmed.
After a caution on lap two for a spinning Tyler Courtney, green flags waved for a third time with Sheldon Haudenschild still in charge, once again followed by Christopher Bell and Rico Abreu. Abreu made a big bid for the runner-up spot on lap four and made it stick, using another one of his textbook slide jobs in turns one and two.
Meanwhile, Haudenschild continued to roll the very topside of the speedway, opening up his advantage by a near straightaway. Traffic started to come into play for the first time on lap nine, slowing some of Haudenschild’s momentum. Abreu tried to work traffic as quickly as he could, sliding two and three cars at a time, but still had trouble closing in on the Haudenschild Racing/No. 93 entry.
By lap 24, Abreu worked his way within reach of the top spot and capitalized, using a monster slider to work underneath Haudenschild for the lead in traffic. Once obtaining control, Abreu never stumbled, surviving the remaining 16 circuits, as well as two additional cautions, to earn himself a trip to Dirt Classic Indiana victory lane. The St. Helena, California, native navigated the very top-shelf of the speedway for the majority of his campaign at the front of the field, opening his advantage to a near straightaway even during traffic.
“I was pretty good everywhere here tonight,” Abreu explained. “I could run the top and I could run the bottom. I knew the bottom was going to slow down eventually so I decided to work my way up to the top. I thought I heard somebody working up on the outside of me. I just worried about getting to the top and staying smooth. I had so much fun here tonight. Kokomo always puts on a great race. I am very happy to win in a winged sprint car here.”
After a four car battle for the last two podium spots, Jamie Veal and Chad Kemenah emerged. Veal worked his way forward from fourth to finish second, scoring a second consecutive podium performance during the Dirt Classic Indiana doubleheader at Kokomo Speedway. Kemenah climbed from the outside of row three to finish third.
Up next on the 2016 schedule, the Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions will return to the Keystone State for the I-79 Summer Shootout presented by Classic Ink USA; a trio of events along the Interstate 79 corridor in Western Pennsylvania. “America’s Series” will visit three facilities during their three day campaign, each hosting a full, Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions program worth $5,000 to the main event winner. In addition, a $3,000 point fund will also be awarded to the weekend’s top racers.
The I-79 Summer Shootout presented by Classic Ink USA will take shape on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, July 29-31, beginning with action the the Eriez Speedway in Erie, Pennsylvania, on Friday night, July 29. Action will resume on Saturday, July 30, at Pittsburgh’s Pennsylvania Motor Speedway in Imperial, Pennsylvania, followed by a visit to the Tri-City Raceway Park near Franklin, Pennsylvania, on Sunday, July 31. It will be the final Western Pennsylvania appearance for the Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions in 2016.

A Little Luck and A Lot of Skill Help Lance Dewease to Summer Nationals Win
Retains coveted Morgan Cup trophy for the Pennsylvania Posse and pockets $25,000
MECHANICSBURG, Pa. - July 23, 2016 - Lance Dewease's World of Outlaws Craftsman® Sprint Car Series victory in the the Champion Racing Oil Summer Nationals finale at Williams Grove Speedway on Saturday night took a lot of hard work and a little good luck.
Dewease, who spent much of the first two-thirds of the feature looking for a line around Joey Saldana, battled to the lead on one restart, had do it again after the caution flew before a lap was completed and then, after the caution flew on the final lap for Aaron Ott, who spun near the start/finish line, ran out of fuel as the open red was called.
"I was out (of fuel) about six laps before that," Dewease said. "It kept shutting off going down the straight away. I just slowed way out of the throttle so I could try to make it to the end, took the white, it sputtered a little going up the back stretch, I thought I was good and we come of four for the checkered and the yellow comes out. I thought, man, we're done… Everything went our way tonight."
In addition to claiming $25,000, Dewease also kept the Morgan Cup at Williams Grove for the local, Pennsylvania Posse fans. The win is the second of the season for Dewease who stood in victory lane at Williams Grove on May 20.
Notably, the win was the 10th series victory of Dewease's career which tied him with Johnny Herrera and his car owner Don Kreitz Jr. for 33rd on the all-time wins list.
Daryn Pittman, who won the previous night, had the early momentum as he scored the quick time award, a Heat race win and the Dash win which put him on the pole of the 30-lap feature.
It was Joey Saldana though who jumped out to the early lead in his No. 83 Roth Motorsports car. Dewease, who started in fourth got around Greg Hodnett for third on lap seven and then, on a restart, powered his No. 69K Kreitz Oval Track Parts/Sharman Builders car around the No. 9 Great Clips car of Daryn Pittman to take over second.
Through multiple restarts, Saldana held off Dewease. With 11 laps remaining, the No. 48 of Danny Dietrich brought out the caution after spinning on the front straight. When the field returned to green Dewease battled to the lead but before a lap could be completed, the caution again flew after a large piece of a nose wing ended up in the middle of the racing groove in turn two.
Saldana took the lead back but was not able to hold off Dewease, as the No. 69K again battled to the lead. As Saldana fell off Pittman took over the second and David Gravel took over third.
Dewease cruised through the final laps, building a large lead on Pittman in second. As Dewease rounded the final corner, the caution again flew for Ott who had spun and stopped at the start/finish line.
Just as series officials called the open red after hitting the maximum number of laps on a fuel load, Dewease ran out of fuel. After refueling for the final start, the field restacked single file with Dewease leading Pittman, and by that point, the No. 51S Trans East Equipment/Miller Bros. Chevrolet car of Stevie Smith.
Dewease easily retained the top spot on the green-white-checkered. As he crossed the finish line much of the front grandstand rose to their feet to cheer for the No. 69K. Pittman, a former regular in Central Pennsylvania, finished in second with Smith in third.
With Kreitz and Hall-of-Fame mechanic Davey Brown at his side, Dewease celebrated the win.
"Everything is about (Don Kreitz) and (Davey Brown) on this deal," Dewease said. "I'm just the guy driving it and I'm just having so much fun this year. It's just a pleasure."
For their part, Brown and Kreitz were jubilant in victory lane.
"I just couldn't ask for a better driver," Brown said. "He's just so good, I can't believe it."
"I can hardly talk," Kreitz said. "I've got tears in my eyes. Lance did a hell of a job driving the car and the moves he made in it."
The win ties the Outlaws vs. Pennsylvania Posse battle at two wins to two wins. The two sides will pick up the battle again at the end of September for the National Open at Williams Grove.
Pittman, who closed out the weekend with a win and second place, said he just was not quite quick enough to start the feature, but commended his Kasey Kahne Racing with Mike Curb team for a solid weekend.
"We got beat by a better car and that car has been hard to beat all year," Pittman said of Dewease. "We got one on him last night by starting in front of him. I finally found a decent line there at the end and felt like I could at least maintain with him and sort of keep his pace but at the end of the day he was just quicker than us."

Kerry Madsen was the night's KSE Racing Hard Charger, advancing 13 positions to finish in ninth... The Outlaws and Pennsyvlania Posse are now tied two to two for wins on the season.

Posse regulars Dewease and Hodnett round out the podium
MECHANICSBURG, Pa. - July 22, 2016 - Daryn Pittman held off the Pennsylvania Posse in Friday night's Champion Racing Oil Summer Nationals opener at Williams Grove Speedway to score his seventh World of Outlaws Craftsman® Sprint Car Series victory of the season.
Posse regulars Lance Dewease and Greg Hodnett both tried to run down the No. 9 Great Clips car, but Pittman held tough and gave the Outlaws their second win in Posse territory this season.
"I don't know if I'm more nervous with (Hodnett) behind me or (Dewease) - neither one of them you want to see on the scoreboard," Pittman said in victory lane. "Man, we won again at Williams Grove… this is a special race track to win at."
Pittman was fast all night taking a late run in the qualifying flight two that catapulted him to the top of the charts and his fifth quick time award of the season. After a second place finish in Heat three, Pittman was poised to start the Dash in sixth until the Dash inversion draw which ultimately put Pittman on the Dash pole.
When the initial green fell on the night's 25-lap feature, Pittman jumped out to a strong early lead as Hodnett battled past Aaron Ott to take over the second position. Through a series of early cautions, Jason Johnson battled into the third position and then had to deal with a challenge from Dewease who drove his No. 69K Henry R. Sharman Builders, Kreitz Racing machine into the third spot and then second following a mid-race caution.
When the field returned to green, contact between Schatz and Johnson caused Johnson to flip and brought out a red flag, the final stoppage of the night.
Through the remaining laps, Pittman built up a nearly two second lead as Dewease worked to run him. Lapped traffic on the final lap was nearly problematic for Pittman as Dewease closed the gap but Pittman escaped and earned the win at Williams Grove.
"You knew the 69K came from a ways back and I wasn't sure what (crew chief Kale Kahne) was going to tell me to do under the red. I was kind of thinking 'man, I need to change my line.' And he said, 'just keeping running the top.' And I was like, 'man. are you sure?' That 69, I guarantee he's not running the top," Pittman said. "We got hung up in some lap traffic on the last lap and I felt like I made a pretty bad corner but luckily was able to hold onto it down the backstretch and was able to slide myself through three and four."
The win gives Pittman his seventh of the season, good enough for the second-mostand propelled him to third in the championship point standings over his teammate Brad Sweet. The win is also the second for the Outlaws, who, with Schatz's victory at Lincoln Speedway earlier in the season, now have a two-to-one lead over the Pennsylvania Posse.
Dewease, who finished in second and is the owner of the other series race win at Williams Grove this season, said the unusual track conditions were a challenge for he and his team all night.
"(This track) isn't my type of deal, this (car) likes it real slick. (The car) was really nice all night. Davey does a wonderful job. This is a new car - this is only like the third race on it. Davey and Donny, they work their butts off and I couldn't be happier to drive it as hard as I can for those guys."
Hodnett, who finished in third, said his No. 27 Heffner Racing /Trone Outdoors car was not quite where it needed to be tonight.
"We were really disappointed. We just weren't good to run the cushion all night and I don't know why," Hodnett said. "We were just balled up on it and loose off of it. We just weren't good enough to to run anywhere but on it and then not very good on it. The track was pretty different than what it had been all year so we've got a little work to do. Thankful to be on the front stretch with this group of competitors we have here."
The World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series continue their battle with the Pennsylvania Posse tonight as the two close out the Champion Racing Oil Summer Nationals at Williams Grove Speedway. Christopher Bell Earns Career First Arctic Cat All Star Victory During Prelude to the Dirt Classic Indiana
KOKOMO, IN (July 22, 2016) - For the first time in nearly ten years, the Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions invaded the famed Kokomo Speedway in Kokomo, Indiana, in an attempt to tame the Hoosier State’s “Baddest Bullring” during the inaugural Dirt Classic Indiana presented by Tony Stewart. The weekend doubleheader launched officially on Friday night, July 22, with 37 Arctic Cat All Star sprint cars making the call. When the dust settled, it was recent Tony Stewart Racing hired gun Christopher Bell at the top of the heap, leading all 35 laps on the Kokomo Speedway quarter-mile to score his first ever All Star victory worth $5,000. Rico Abreu finished just behind Bell, followed by Aussie invader Jamie Veal.
“It’s every kid’s dream to drive a race car for Tony Stewart. I’m just glad we were able to get it done tonight,” Bell explained in victory lane. “These guys gave me an awesome car tonight. It got a little tricky there in traffic because you really have to let up your momentum to figure out how to work around the drivers in front of you. I almost gave it away there at one point, but we were able to get by that and park ourselves in victory lane.”
Christopher Bell, piloting the Tony Stewart Racing/No. 14, jumped out to an early advantage ahead of recent Indianapolis 500 starter Bryan Clauson and Rico Abreu at the completion of lap one. After a pair of cautions, which halted action on lap two and lap three, green flag conditions would return with Christopher Bell maintaining his position at the front of the field. The Norman, Oklahoma, native extended his advantage quickly, using the very topside of the Kokomo quarter-mile. Even when traffic started to intensify, Bell kept his composure, moving to various parts of the surface to navigate traffic. At one point, Bell’s advantage stretched to nearly a straightaway.
Meanwhile, action for second, third, fourth, and fifth intensified. Bryan Clauson, Brady Bacon, Rico Abreu, and Chad Kemenah all battled continuously, utilizing slide jobs in turns one and two, as well as turns three and four, in an attempt to advance positions. By the time caution lights reappeared on lap 15, Bryan Clauson, who started on the outside of the front row, settled himself into the runner-up position, with Chad Kemenah, the main event’s fifth starter, just behind, each chasing Bell’s Tony Stewart Racing entry.
After the caution on lap 15, green flag conditions would return once again. Christopher Bell returned to the topside of the speedway, using clean air and an open track once again to his advantage. Bryan Clauson continued to chase the No. 14 from the runner-up spot, with Jamie Veal working his way forward from sixth to battle for third by lap 22. Veal’s campaign in third was eventually challenged and taken over by Rico Abreu, using a traditional Kokomo Speedway slide job.
Unfortunately for Bell, main event action would come to a stop three laps before the finish, this time for Bryan Clauson. Clauson, who was now racing hard with Rico Abreu for second in the running order, made contact with the turn four wall, sending the Matt Wood Racing/Cancer Treatment Centers of America/No. 17W entry for a ride, ultimately bringing out the red flag. Abreu would inherit second, just ahead of Jamie Veal.
Despite the distraction, Christopher Bell would keep control and lead the last three circuits to capture the $5,000 top prize, capping off a near clean sweep; qualifying sixth quick, winning his respective heat race, winning the dash, and dominating 35-lap main event.
The Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions will continue their Kokomo Speedway invasion on Saturday evening, July 23, with the Dirt Classic Indiana finale. The $12,500-to-win showcase will feature a unique, non-points format for the Arctic Cat All Stars, utilizing two sets of heat races, each accumulating points to help set the lineup for the evening’s main event. The Dirt Classic Indiana winner will take home the cash, as well as a golden ticket; receiving an automatic bid to start in the Dirt Classic Ohio main event at Attica Raceway Park over Labor Day weekend.
Kokomo Speedway pit gates will swing back open at 3:00 pm on Saturday afternoon, July 23. The Dirt Classic Indiana drivers meeting will begin at 6, followed by hot laps at 7. David Gravel Battles to Don Martin Memorial Silver Cup Victory
Picks up his fifth World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series victory of the season
SARVER, Pa. - July 19, 2016 - Donny Schatz did not make it easy, but David Gravel proved up to the task as he battled to his fifth World of Outlaws Craftsman® Sprint Car Series victory of the season in the 25th Annual Don Martin Memorial Silver Cup at Lernerville Speedway on Tuesday night.
Gravel started from the front, but did not have an easy road as Schatz moved forward early and then began challenging the Watertown, Conn.-native for the lead. Through lapped traffic, Schatz closed the distance and then battled by Gravel. Gravel kept up the pressure though and, the next lap by, was in position when Schatz bobbled on the cushion. He took back the top spot and held off challenges through the end of the 40-lap feature.
"Donny is really good - Dale (Blaney) and Donny at this type of race track," Schatz said. "I tried to keep my pace up as good as I can but it got harder and harder and harder to run. When Donny showed his nose there and passed me, I got the wing back and tried a different line down the back stretch and was able to get underneath him and slide him back and slide a lapped car. That was the winning move there really."
The win comes less than a week after Gravel last stood in victory lane with his CJB Motorsports team - that time at the inaugural Jokers Wild at Eldora Speedway. It is Gravel's first ever win at Lernerville and moved him past Brad Sweet and into the second position in championship standings. He is now 226 points behind Schatz.
The No. 5 Big Game Treestands started out the night taking the quick time award - his fourth of the season.
Gravel shared the front row of the feature with Blaney, who stood in victory lane at the Silver Cup in 2015. Through the opening laps, Gravel pulled out to a strong lead over Blaney.
Schatz quickly battled to third and after an early caution pulled wheel-to-wheel with Blaney for second. Blaney however held the spot through the first 10 laps. Another caution brought the field together and after several laps, Schatz battled past Blaney for second.
As Gravel worked his way through traffic, Schatz began closing on the No. 5 car, from an over two second lead, Schatz brought it down to .603 seconds by lap 23. As rode the cushion around the top of the track, Schatz brought his No. 15 Bad Boy Off Road/Chevrolet Performance J&J close but could not find a way by.
Gravel again pulled away but Schatz again closed the gap. This time, Schatz got around Gravel after sliding him through turns one and two for the lead. The reigning series champion's hold on the top spot was tenuous though as the No. 5 car took advantage of a mistake and retook the top spot. Though Schatz stayed close, it was smooth sailing to the end.
"Donny was really good there at the end. I could hear him," Gravel said. "And the cushion pushed the edge of the track off of four and I was just happy to hang on."
Schatz, fresh off his $50,000 Kings Royal victory was disappointed by the second place run.
"I shoved over the edge, that's just the way it goes," Schatz said. "Winning the Kings Royal and then coming and running second kind of feels like I let my race team down. I did everything I could. I know they did too… That's just the way this sport is. Some days you're the bug, some days you're the windshield."
He extended his lead over second place in the championship standings to 226 points. Following the Silver Cup in 2015, Schatz had a larger 294-point lead over the then second-place team of Shane Stewart.
Blaney, who came into the night as the past winner of the event, sad he was disappointed with the finish for his No. 1B GoMuddy.com team.
"It felt like we had a really good car all night," Blaney said. "Man, I just couldn't get maneuverable in that race at all. I couldn't float the corner. Just really disappointed… we've run so good here. We've run really good when the track gets like this but we just missed it a little bit in the feature."
