Tony Stewart leads an All Star stompin’ at BAPS Motor Speedway
YORK HAVEN, Pa. (August 26, 2018) - Showing the sprint car world a Tony Stewart of old on Sunday evening in Central Pennsylvania, Smoke helped his Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions presented by Mobil 1 close out their four-race trek through Pennsylvania Posse Country by earning a victory at BAPS Motor Speedway, ultimately leading a dominant All Star roster that placed seven competitors inside the top-ten, Smoke included, two of which on top of the feature podium. For Stewart, the $5,000 victory was his first with the traveling All Stars since winning at Pittsburgh’s Pennsylvania Motor Speedway over one year ago, bumping his career total to three during All Star competition.
Vienna, West Virginia’s Cale Conley survived an intense battle with Paul McMahan, Lance Dewease and Carson Macedo to finish second during the Justin Snyder Salute to the Troops program, followed by Dewease, McMahan, and Aaron Reutzel.
“Anytime you can come to Central Pennsylvania and beat the Pennsylvania Posse is pretty special. These are some of the best drivers in the country. We are all very excited to be up here right now,” Tony Stewart explained, driver of the Textron Off Road/RUSH Truck Centers/Sage Fruit/Ford Performance/No. 14 sprint car. “I try to learn from everyone I race with, especially my teammate, Donny Schatz. Donny is a true friend of mine and a mentor. We try to learn a lot from each other. He is a great person to have around.”
Although Tony Stewart’s march to the front started from the inside of row three, he did not crack into the top-five for the first time, officially, until lap eight.
After a red flag incident on lap three for Anthony Fiore, a caution on lap 11 stacked the field once again giving Stewart another opportunity to improve. When green flag action resumed, Stewart was able to immediately work beyond Aaron Reutzel for fourth, then setting aim for one of the three podium positions held down by Carson Macedo, Cale Conley, and race leader, Paul McMahan.
Less than a handful of circuits later, Stewart proved to the packed house at BAPS Motor Speedway that he was a man on a mission on Sunday evening, actually taking Macedo and Conley three wide into turns three and four on lap 14. Stewart hugged the bottom with Conley and Macedo racing through the middle and on the cushion. The move was gutsy, but it worked, eventually crossing under the flagstand to complete lap 14 in the runner-up spot, now with McMahan in his viewfinder.
A caution on lap 16 gave Stewart an opportunity to restart on the tail tank of McMahan. The opportunity proved beneficial for the Columbus, Ind., native, soon battling by the Nashville resident via Elk Grove, Calif., on lap 18. From that point forward, it was the ‘Smoke Show,’ cruising on to score the 30-lap, $5,000 victory over Cale Conley and a fast-closing Lance Dewease, who charged ten positions by feature’s end.
On a side note, Kyle Larson, who started from the outside-pole position, led the first two circuits on Sunday evening at BAPS Motor Speedway before suffering from mechanical failure; Larson was scored 23rd.
Rounding out the month of August and rapidly transitioning into the month of September, the Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions presented by Mobil 1 will next tackle three events in the Buckeye State, invading Attica Raceway Park for Attica Ambush weekend on Friday and Saturday, August 31 & September 1, followed by the annual Pete Jacobs Memorial at Wayne County Speedway on Sunday, September 2. The Attica Ambush will feature back-to-back, full programs for Tony Stewart’s All Stars awarding $5,000 each. Sunday’s Pete Jacobs Memorial will award a $10,000 top prize.

Pittman Goes Back-To-Back at Big Sky Speedway for 6th Win of Season
BILLINGS, MT – August 25, 2018 – Daryn Pittman got by Jacob Allen on a double-file restart halfway through the race and never looked back, scoring his second consecutive win at Big Sky Speedway and capturing his sixth World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series victory of 2018. Allen settled for second with Donny Schatz completing the podium.
For the second consecutive night, Jacob Allen won the Sears Craftsman Dash, earning the pole for the 35-Lap Feature. Allen drag raced with fellow front row starter Pittman the entire opening lap and edged ahead off of turn four to lead Lap 1.
The first 15 laps went non-stop, forcing Allen to negotiate lapped traffic and allowing Pittman and Schatz to close in. Brent Marks had a right rear explode, bringing out the first of a handful of cautions.
The ensuing double-file restart saw Allen elect the top of the speedway. Allen fought off two Pittman slidejobs to maintain control and lead Lap 16 before the yellow flew for Dominic Scelzi, who lost the handle of his family-owned machine off of turn one.
The caution restacked the field double-file once again, but this time the veteran Pittman prevailed over young Allen, controlling the field off of turn two to lead Lap 17.
A pair of cautions for Alan Gilbertson and Jason Sides gave Allen ample opportunity to steal the lead back from Pittman, but the Owasso, OK native was too strong on the double-file restarts and motored away.
The final caution of the evening came with four to go as Sheldon Haudenschild’s engine gave out. With less than five laps to go in the Feature, Outlaw rules dictate single-file restarts, giving Allen a different chance to wrestle the lead back.
Allen stayed with Pittman on the restart, but couldn’t mount a serious challenge as Pittman went on to win by .904 seconds.
“To get this win the way the last few months have been is really something special. Man, our last win was tough,” Pittman said solemnly before thanking his Kasey Kahne Racing crew for their continued support.
“There’s nothing better than winning these races, you never know when your last one is going to be,” Pittman, who now has 78 career Outlaw wins, added. "As you can see there’s nothing on the side of this car and there’s no better way to sign a sponsor than by winning races. That’s my job, to go out there and focus on putting this car in Victory Lane so I can keep this job and keep doing what I love,” Pittman said before thanking the sellout crowd at Big Sky Speedway.
Jacob Allen’s first World of Outlaws win continues to elude him, but the young Hanover, PA native remains in good spirits. “Leading laps and running up front is a lot of fun. Obviously, I want to get that first win, but to be able to be on the podium, finish top-five and contend for a win against these guys is something to be proud of and I’m proud of my race team,” Allen said positively.
Donny Schatz was pleased to come home third but wished the race got into more lapped traffic. “It’s fun to be in traffic, but that wasn’t in the cards tonight. Third is pretty respectable, the race track was fun and that’s all you can ask for as a racer. Full house tonight, thank you guys for being here, it was an awesome night for all of us,” Schatz said in good spirits.
Brad Sweet picked up KSE Hard Charger honors coming forward to fourth with Kraig Kinser completing the top five.
The World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series continues its trek west to Washington and has a pair of dates at Skagit Speedway this upcoming weekend Friday, August 31 and Saturday, September 1 in Alger, WA. Following that, the Series will head to Grays Harbor Raceway in Elma on Monday, September 3rd before making its lone appearance in Oregon at Willamette Speedway on Wednesday, September 5.

BITNER WINS AT PORT ROYAL; DREVICKI TAKES EAST COAST TITLE
Port Royal, PA........Mark Bitner of Columbus, New Jersey led all 20 laps to win Saturday night's USAC East Coast Sprint finale, but second-place finisher Steven Drevicki polished off the 2018 series championship. Eddie Strada, Chandler and Joey Biasi rounded out the "top-five" at the finish.

LINEMAN AND FLEMING WIN AGAIN AT NEW EGYPT SPEEDWAY
New Egypt, NJ (August 26, 2018) - At New Egypt Speedway's Fan Appreciation
Night presented by the Hammer Companies, Bob Lineman Jr. won the Hammer
Sportsman feature for the second consecutive week while Dan Fleming grabbed
his second Crate Modified main event in a row. Heidi Hedin grabbed her first
career checkered flag in the Larry's Hot Rods & Harley's Northeast Wingless
Sprint Car feature. Jon Meyer was victorious in the Street Stock race while
Justin Dunn topped the field in the 4-Cylinder contest.
As the 20-lap Hammer Sportsman feature began, Jimmy Amato pedaled to the
front with Ryan Heim and Bob Lineman Jr. next in line. On the second
circuit, Lineman Jr. motored past Heim for second just before the yellow
lights illuminated on the track for Pat Wall. When action resumed, Lineman
Jr. swept past Amato for the lead. Heim regained second place by slipping by
Amato on the fourth lap. Seventh place starting Cale Ross continued his
advancement towards the front by gaining third place on the fifth
revolution. At the halfway point, Lineman Jr. was comfortably in front with
Heim, Ross and David Burns in tow. With a good stretch of green flag racing,
Lineman Jr. continued his solid advantage over his rivals until Mickey
Kessler's ride stopped in turn two with one lap remaining. On the ensuing
restart, Lineman Jr. kept his lead and he was approaching the finish line
when a fourth corner incident between Heim and Ross brought out the caution
flag for the final time. As the green flag waved again, Lineman Jr. kept his
advantage over the new second place runner, Burns, to take his second
consecutive win and third of the year. With the runner-up spot going to
Burns, Art Liedl came from the ninth starting spot to finish third. Will
Dupree was fourth and Joseph Brown was fifth. The Hammer Sportsman heat race
victors were Bob Lineman Jr. and Cale Ross.
Following a skirmish with three laps to go between the first and second
place competitors, Dan Fleming inherited the top running position and led
the rest of the way for his second 20-lap Crate Modified feature win in a
row. After Aaron Weaver was in front for the opening circuit, John Criscione
took over with Joe Toth proceeding into second. As the race advanced in the
second half, the top two of Criscione and Toth remained intact with Dan
Fleming riding in third. Racing in tight quarters, Toth was able to take the
lead from Criscione on lap seventeen just before contact by Criscione sent
Toth spinning in turn one. Due to the incident, Criscione was relegated to
the back of the field and Fleming became the new leader. Fleming would lead
the final circuits to score the victory. Kyle Kania wound up in second with
Eric Palmer finishing third. Fourth place went to Ryan Simmons and Johnny
Bangs finished in fifth. Johnny Bangs, George Gareis Jr., and John Criscione
won the Crate Modified qualifying races.
In the 20-lap main event for the Larry's Hot Rods & Harley's Northeast
Wingless Sprint Cars, Heidi Hedin wired the field to garner her first career
checkered flag. Hedin repelled challenges by Karl Freyer to claim the win in
the non-stop race. With the point leading Freyer finishing second, Jermain
Godshall was third. Heat winner Brian Spencer netted fourth place and Rich
Mellor was fifth.
After taking the lead from Jerry Stanzione on the third circuit, Jon Meyer
paced his rivals the remaining distance to win the 15-lap Street Stock race.
The victory was Meyer's fourth of the year and sixth of his career. Bill
Liedtka came home in second place. Third place was taken by Jimmy Avery.
Mick Search and Billy Wroble completed the top five.
In the non-stop 15-lap affair for the 4-Cylinders, Justin Dunn led every
step of the way and held off the advances of the Garey clan to capture his
first feature win of the season. Joe Garey Jr. nipped his father at the line
to claim second. With Joe Garey Sr. taking third, JC Duvall was fourth and
Doug Ashford was fifth.
The Flemington Car & Truck Country Family of Dealerships presents Twins
Night at New Egypt Speedway on Saturday, September 1. All twins arriving
together at the track will receive free grandstand admission. On the dirt
oval, the Modifieds return to action with twin 20-lap features leading up to
their championship night on Saturday, September 8. The Mid-Atlantic Sprint
Car Series will be in competition with a complete show including a feature
and the held over feature from April 14. The Larry's Hot Rods & Harley's
Northeast Wingless Sprint Cars and Crate Modifieds fill out the
four-division program. Competitors can begin to enter the pits at 3:00 p.m.
and the grandstand ticket windows open at 4:00 p.m. Hot laps start at 5:00
p.m. and racing gets underway at 6:00 p.m. Admission to the grandstand is
$25 for adults, $23 for seniors 65 and older, $15 for teens 12-15, $15 for
military personal and their spouses with ID, and kids 11 & under are FREE.
Pit admission is $30 with a New Egypt Speedway license and $40 with no
license.

Brad Sweet Steals Black Hills Win on Late Restart
RAPID CITY, SD – August 24, 2018 – Brad Sweet used a double-file restart with seven laps remaining to get by race-long leader Jacob Allen and win his fifth World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series Feature of the 2018 season Friday night at Black Hills Speedway. Schatz used that same restart to surge from ninth to finish second with Dominic Scelzi completing the podium.
Jacob Allen won the Sears Craftsman Dash to earn the pole for the 25-lap Feature alongside 2018 Knoxville Nationals Champion, Brad Sweet. The initial start saw David Gravel blast from fourth to the lead down the backstretch, but Allen muscled his Shark Racing No.1A underneath Gravel’s CJB No.5 off of turn four to lead the opening lap.
The first of two cautions in the Feature flew with two laps complete as Sheldon Haudenschild spun to a stop after battling for fifth. Haudenschild’s crew thrashed to get the Stenhouse Jr-Marshall No.17 back out, which would prove crucial later. The ensuing double-file restart saw 2017 Black Hills winner Shane Stewart move into second as Gravel got shuffled back to fifth.
Allen, in search of his first career Outlaw triumph, motored away from the field as the rest of the field waged war behind him. Intense racing action on Lap 4 saw Sweet move into second, Dominic Scelzi into third as Stewart got shuffled back to fourth. Scelzi, also in search of his first Outlaw triumph, pounded the cushion in turn one and two, to get by fellow California native Sweet for second on Lap 7 and set his eyes on Allen.
Allen navigated lapped traffic like a veteran and appeared to be on his way for the long-awaited first Outlaw win. Sweet worked back by Scelzi on Lap 17 for second and the next lap Sheldon Haudenschild brought out the final caution of the evening with seven laps remaining.
The caution erased the 2 and half-second lead Allen had accumulated and put one of Sprint Car Racing’s elite talents right next to him for the double-file restart.
Allen elected the bottom, but Sweet was able to remain even for the lead on the restart. Sweet edged in front to lead Lap 19, but a determined Allen threw a slide job to grab the lead momentarily off of turn two.
While all eyes were on Sweet and Allen’s torrid battle for the lead, Donny Schatz surged forward from ninth to third.
Back up front, Sweet’s momentum allowed him to regain control down the backstretch and into turn three and four. As a last-ditch effort to get the lead back, Allen threw the car low, but spun the tires off turn four, scrubbing his speed and allowing Donny Schatz and Dominic Scelzi to split him down the frontstretch for position.
Scelzi and Schatz jockeyed for position briefly, allowing Sweet to extend his lead and go on to win his fifth Feature of the year.
“I kinda feel bad for Jacob, he’s been working really hard and has a really fast car. He was probably the guy to beat, sometimes those late restarts will get you. I’ve been fortunate to have been out here a couple of more years and the experience can help in those situations,” Sweet said honestly.
“My car was really good, I just lost some track position on the start. It was nice to get back into second right when we did to get that shot on the restart,” Sweet added next to his NAPA Auto Parts, Kasey Kahne Racing No.49 in Victory Lane.
Donny Schatz, who was coming off a weekend sweep in his home state, settled for second after his surge on the Lap 18 restart.
“Hats off to my guys they always give me a good race car and we were pretty good at the end. I felt like we were running 43rd most of the race,” Schatz said with a smile.
It was all smiles for Dominic Scelzi, who completed the podium, tying his career-best Outlaw finish. “I had a dream of a race car to drive. We’ve had a heck of a last few months and to be on the podium with the Outlaws is awesome. We were fast at Billings last year, hopefully we can finish one or two spots better tomorrow,” Scelzi, who is following the World of Outlaws back to his home-state of California, said.
Logan Schuchart came forward to fourth with his Shark Racing teammate Allen settling for fifth. Greg Wilson earned KSE Hard Charger honors coming from 17th to finish sixth.
For the second consecutive year, the Black Hills Speedway track record fell, this year to Daryn Pittman, who paced the full-field of cars in Qualifying with a blistering 14.813 seconds, just a fraction off of Shane Stewart’s time last year.

Freddie Rahmer and Jim Siegel win Jack Gunn Memorial Twin 20's at Williams Grove Speedway

MECHANICSBURG, PA – Freddie Rahmer drove by Kyle Larson in lapped
traffic and on to win the first 20-lap main event Friday night at
Williams Grove Speedway as part of the Jack Gunn Memorial sanctioned
by the All Star Circuit of Champions.
Jim Siegel inherited the lead when Chad Trout had trouble in lapped
traffic and held off Tony Stewart to win $4,000 in the second main
Event.
The All Stars have never beaten the Williams Grove regulars in a
sanctioned race pushing their record to 35-0.
Rahmer’s second career All Star win was worth $4,000. It was his
second Grove win of the season.
“I knew once we got the lead it was a long way from over,” Rahmer said
referring to Larson. “We weren’t bad after the restart. I wasn’t
cutting the corners like I wish I was. Then we got to lapped cars and
made a couple good moves that probably kept him just far enough away
to get it done.”
“The whole night it wasn’t turning in like I needed it to,” Rahmer
said. “We changed the car and I knew after the first lap or so, we
were going to be okay. The car was night and day different.”
Larson and Grandview winner and All Star point leader Aaron Reutzel
shared the front row. Reutzel got the jump, but the yellow flew when
Jac Haudenschild hit the second turn fence.
Larson streaked away on the second start as third starting Rahmer
passed Reutzel for second.
Larson led by 2.663 seconds with four laps completed. He reached
slower traffic with six down and Rahmer closed.
Larson went to the bottom to try and lap cars as they raced into turn
one. Rahmer shot by on the outside taking the lead with 11 laps to go.
Larson stayed right with Rahmer as Chad Trout slowed bringing out the
yellow two laps later getting the leaders out of traffic.
“I wanted to see the caution because the track’s pretty fast and you
could easily get yourself in trouble there,” Rahmer said. “The yellow
definitely helped us. Get us into clean air. Ever since the middle of
Speedweek, we’ve been driving better and the car is a little bit
better. Everything is going good. We’re still not where I think we’re
capable of being. We’re close anyway.”
Rahmer controlled the restart and final laps through traffic beating
Larson by .347. Reutzel, Lance Dewease and Tim Shaffer completed the
top five. Brian Montieth, Lucas Wolfe, Gerard McIntyre Jr., Ryan Smith
and Chad Kemenah rounded out the top 10.
An inversion of all lead lap cars was used for the
second 20-lap main event putting Danny Dietrich on the pole and Chad
Trout second.
They traded the lead twice in the opening lap with Trout securing the
top spot over Dietrich and Jim Siegel.
The yellow flew with four laps completed when Robbie Kendall slowed in
turn four.
Close racing in the first turn on the restart resulted in Dietrich
spinning up across the turn and into the fence.
Tony Stewart passed Dave Blaney on the restart taking third as Trout
built a comfortable lead over Siegel.
At the half-way point, he led by 3.037 seconds and reached slower traffic.
That traffic cost Trout on the frontstretch on lap 11 as contact with
Tyler Esh caused him to spin bringing out the yellow.
That handed the lead to Siegel over Stewart and Blaney.
He controlled the restart and one more lap was completed before
Brandon Spithaler slowed with seven laps to go.
Siegel won by 1.118 over Stewart for his first career All Star win and
first Grove win in six seasons.
“It’s amazing,” Siegel said. “We built a couple different racecars
just trying to get me comfortable. This is a brand new RPM Chassis.
First night on it. It feels great to park it in Victory Lane. It’s my
first All Star win. It’s something I’ve been after for a long time. My
dad won one here back in ’96. He really loved following the All Stars
and it means a lot to me to get an All Star win.”
Blaney, Steve Buckwalter, and Anthony Macri completed the top five.
Larson started 21st and finished sixth. Greg Hodnett, Brock Zearfoss,
Brian Montieth rounded out the top 10. Rahmer dropped out of the main
Event.
Dewease set fast time over the 35-car field with a lap of 16.584. Tim
Shaffer, Anthony Macri, Brian Montieth and Tony Stewart won the
eight-lap heat races. Larson and Reutzel won the dashes and Brock
Zearfoss the B-main.
