Accord, NY- Accord Speedway PERREGO AND JORDAN CAPTURE KING OF THE CATSKILLS MAIN EVENTS

The Ulster County weather was warm and breezy in the afternoon but once the sun went down a brisk chill filled the air. Nevertheless, the heated and competitive action packed racing on the speedway kept the crowd entertained throughout the King of the Catskills events. The Accord Speedway was in top form and a solid roster of drivers and a standing room only crowd proved to be a win/win for Promoters Gary and Donna Palmer to host their annual King of the Catskills event at the speedway. Working right up until race time, Gary Palmer had the pristine quarter mile clay speedplant in impeccable condition and the attention to detail enabled the solid field of Modified and Sportsman competitors to race wall to wall and then some throughout the evening of racing events. The evening of speed was headlined by sponsor Bruce Insinger and his Insinger Fuel Team. Check them out on the web at: www.insingerperformance.com

When all was said and done, the 2018 Accord Speedway Modified champion, "The Montgomery Missile" Anthony Perrego was all business as he drove from eighth starting position to and followed "Showtime" Danny Tyler for forty one laps until he made the move of the event to slip past Tyler and go on to record his first ever KotC event and with it garnering a cool $5,000.00 for a good night's work in his Superior Remodeling hot rod. Tyler, the 2017 speedway champion and defending champion of the event, settled for runner-up honors but it was a great way to finish for the talented racer who took some time off of racing during the season to re-group and the decision paid off big for Tyler. "The DC Express" Danny Creeden started from eleventh position and worked his way into contention and then engaged in a blazing battle with "Jammin" Jimmy Wells right until the end with Creeden gaining third place and Wells fourth in his Upstate Auto Wagon. "BK Speed" Brian Krummel returned to the speedway and completed the top five with a solid run. Garden Stater Steve Davis made the long tow and headed up the second five in his Premio Sausage racer. "Iron" Mike Ricci raced from 12th spot to finish seventh while Jerry Higbie was eighth, invader Frank Cozze ninth and Andy Bachetti drove into the top ten after suffering a series of problems during the evening. Twenty six Modifieds were on hand for the event with the returning Corey Lowitt scratching out early in the evening.

Speedville, New York's Dustin Jordan made his first ever Accord Speedway appearance and started from fourth spot to grab the lead after Ryan McCartney led lap number one. Jordan pushed his Firetower Doubles racer to the limit with some great moves taking it to the top in turns one and two and he broke away from the field. Some skirmishes including a hard tumble by Chris VanDuser on the backstretch slowed the action a bit but the racing was rock solid with excitement throughout. VanDuser was not injured in his incident. Each time racing resumed Jordan showed the hot hand with young guns tenth starting Cole Stangle and twelfth starting Alex Yankowski hustling through the field to run nose to tail as chased Jordan around the track. The hard drive by Stangle came to an end when he lost the handle and spin out ending his night of competition. Ninth starting "The Bushkill Bullet" Kyle Rohner worked his way into contention and the 2018 track champion and defending champion of the event soon found a home on the baseline of the speedway as he came charging forward. Rohner would move into second on lap-28 and a restart gave him one shot at the win but Jordan was strong and captured his first win at the speedway in his very first attempt. Rohner would settle for second with Alex Yankowski third, Cole Hentschel fourth and Ryan McCartney completing the top five. The second five found Charles Loiodice, Kevin Stevens, Jim Housworth, Michael Corbin and Daniel Morgiewicz following.

The veteran campaigner "Quick" Willie DeGraw wasted no time in charging to the front in the 25-lap Emmanuel's Marketplace Fireball Four Cylinder feature. Again, a few skirmishes here and there slowed down the event but DeGraw was in command from start to finish. DeGraw would lead wire to wire to pick up the win with Dave Donovan second, PJ Bleau third, Mike Travis fourth and newcomer Ryan Lamania fifth. Dave Bendell headed up the next five with another newcomer John Napoli, Bill Rion, Tim DeGrote, and Jeremy Warren following.

The Emmanuel's Marketplace Four Cylinder Enduro excursion found Ted DeGrote utilize his outside pole position to grab the lead. DeGrote built up a huge lead but things came to a halt when Shawn Maloney got upside down on the backstrestch. Maloney was unhurt in the incident but the car suffered sever damage front and rear. On the restart Mike Travis would take over the lead with DeGrote now second and Johnny Bankich hustling hard from a 22nd place start to move into third but a straightaway back at the time. A series of red flags slowed the action and on another restart DeGrote was back in the lead with Travis and Bankich chasing and Jeff DeGroat, who was fourth now falling off of the pace. Another restart brought the three leaders together again and they raced together for a couple of laps until again they hit slower traffic with Bankich taking the low road, Degrote the high road and leaving Travis with no wiggle room. Bankich then took command of the event and went on to win with PJ Bleau the runner-up and Ted DeGrote third.

GEMSTONES:

The showcased event of the season at Accord for the Palmer Family was another spectacular event for the successful New York promotional team now in their 18th season at operating their Ulster County facility. The racing was superb as every Modified and Sportsman heat resembled a mini feature event. The standing room only crowd came from far and wide with as many as eight states representing the statewide support of the tremendous racing activity. Parking was at a premium and the grounds were abuzz with excitement for the long awaited evening of racing at the "Gem in the Catskills". The turnstiles of fans filled the concession areas all night long as they devoured the great cuisine offered up by the speedway concessions.

Special thanks to Superior Landscaping located in Walden, New York and Yannone Enterprises from Newburgh, New York for stepping up big and adding the bonus money for the Sportsman feature event.

26 Modifieds made their way to the pit area along with 35 sportsman and 20 Fireballers and 34 Four Cylinder Enduros. Four heats were needed for the Modifieds with New Jersey invader Billy Osmun III capturing the first, Jimmy Wells getting the win in the second heat, invader from Oley, Pa Loudon Reimert winning the third and Jerry Higbie capturing the fourth. The Sportsman division cars ran four heats with RJ Smith, Travis Green, Joey Bonetti and Charles Loiodice capturing the heat wins. Two Sportsman B-Mains were needed and won by Matt Shultz and Nick Plumstead.

The Northeast Stock Car Old Timers were on hand and selling the their raffle calendars. With 80 chances to win, the twenty dollar tag seemed very reasonable. You can check out their website at: www.nescotracing.com The Capital District Deaf Center was also on hand selling their raffle tickets that will be drawn on December 8th at the Red Lion Inn.

Arnold Restivo and his sister Ann made it to their first Accord Speedway event since 1975. The only question is, "What took you so long?" Welcome back!

Chrystal and Joe Judge won the 50/50 raffle worth $449.00.

Grandma Ann's Pies were handed out to all feature winners and two raffled off courtesy of John Liggan Insurance, Wright's Farm Market, Sunday Rosendale Farmers Market and Cousin Pete Donohue.

Speedway management thanks all of our drivers and fans for a great season at the speedway.

Hamlin, PA -Hamlin Speedway Closes Out 2018 Season In Spectacular Fashion
By: Steve Pados, GA Motorsports Media

Hamlin Speedway Promoters Randy and Denise Smith welcomed in an energetic group of racers on Saturday evening as they hosted their final event of the 2018 racing season. The racing was top notch all of the way in all divisions and a great crowd was on hand to bring the season to a spectacular finish. The Hamlin driving stars used all channels of the 1/5th mile clay cushioned attraction to keep the fans the fans on their feet throughout the evening of speed. With some additional dollars on the line from a great support group of sponsors, a great field of entries assembled in the Pocono Mountains to place their marks on the "Pearl of the Poconos" racing facility. The high flying racing action was sponsored by the good folks at S&S Speedways Indoor Go Karts located in Stroudsburg, PA. (www.ssspeedways.com) and a great support team of additional sponsors with Gilroy Northeast, JPA Masonry, Hufcut Concrete, Archbald Auto & Truck, Total Fleet Service/Weisenfluh Racing, Richie VanOrden Racing, McLaughlin Racing and Donaldson Farms.. Six smiling winners found their way to the RLE Towing and Recovery Winners Circle at the end of the evening of racing action. The six feature show was completed at 10:21 PM.

The Saturday night action found "The Rockaway Rocket" Danny Buccafusca putting on a show stopping performance as he led the entire 27-lap feature in the All Star Slingshot feature headliner. "The Fighting Irishman" John Gilroy hopped in the same car a bit later on and captured the regular Super Slinger feature for his second win of the season at the speedway. The JPA Masonry Rookie Wingless 600 Sprint finale went to "The Taylor Tornado" Zack Weisenfluh. Billy Koch made a rare appearance at Hamlin but he put the finishing touches on the great run to capture the Chad Wheeler Excavating Wingless Sprint feature over a hard charging "Big Show" Joey Amantea. "Junior Excitement" JJ Rice captured the Junior Slingshot event with a wire to wire run. "Chops" Anthony Chrobak found a ride for the evening and put on a show as he captured his second feature event of the season in only his third start in the Hampton RV & Trailer Sales Stage One Modified headliner.

In the All Star Slingshot feature, Danny Buccafusca wasted no time as he grabbed the lead at the start of the 27-lap main and in a matter of a few laps you could color him gone as he raced away from the field in the Gilroy Northeast Inc hot rod. The battle for runner-up honors was a dandy as 2018 track champion chased Ashley Kober down but could not pull the trigger as Kober was at the top of her game. Buccafusca grabbed the win, his third of the season with Kober in second Neary third, Adam Buchel fourth and rookie graduate Aidan Donaldson taking fifth and top finishing honors for the Juniors graduating into the the All Star ranks. Another graduate Joey Kalafut was sixth and another graduate Shelby McLaughlin was seventh proving the Junior Slingshot division drivers are up to snuff when transitioning into a higher level of racing. Dale Kober, Tanner Jones and Tyler Banks completed the top ten.

The Hampton RV & Trailer Sales Stage One Modified headliner found Anthony Chrobak jumping out front early but getting stiff pressure from John Mirabelli and Adam Buchel. Buchel quickly made his way around Mirabelli, who was making his first start of the season. Chrobak and Buchel ran one/two the remainder of the event and they had to dart and dodge some slower cars in the fast paced event. Chrobak, who landed on his noggin the night prior in going for a win at another speedway, made no mistakes on this night as he captured his second win in the division in three starts. Buchel was second in another great run for the Florida Keys AC/Cole Polishing Team. Jasper Ziegafuse hustled to third with Mirabelli finishing fourth in his return to racing and Jacob Nemeth finishing fifth and newcomer Mark Evans sixth.

The Super Slingshot feature event found Wes Hearn leading for one lap and on a restart John Gilroy unleashed the power on his hot rod and raced away from the field with impressive laps in the 14.2 second range. While Gilroy was stealing the thunder, Wes Hearn, Dale Kober and Alan Kober waged a fierce battle for second place. Gilroy picked up his second win of the season in limited appearances while Wes Hearn, Dale Kober, Alan Kober and Jimmy Conroy completed the top five. Heading up the second five were Richie VanOrden, Derek DeSilva, Wally Bell, David Guest and Wendy Guest.

JJ Rice raced into the lead at the start and would receive early pressure from James Hendricks with Hendricks at one point pulling off a slider to momentarily take over the lead but Rice quickly dove under him, grabbed up the lead and walked away from the field from that point on. Rice would claim his second win of the season with Hendricks in for runner-up honors and hard charging Kasey Hufcut third. Charlene Benz was fourth and Connor Mirabelli completed the top five with the newcomer Mirabelli walking off with the hard charger award put up by VanOrden Racing. The second five found RJ Sherman, Ashton DeWitt, first time racer Isabella VanOrden, Amber Baccaglini and newcomer Chase Zimmer rounding out the field.

The JPA Masonry Rookie Wingless 600 Sprint encounter found Ryan Lacoe leading the way for four laps before yielding to the high-flying 2018 Rookie 600 Sprint Champion Zack Weisenfluh. Weisenfluh blistered the clay with some 12.3 second laps but behind him Noah Zielinski and Tyler Lindsay stayed with him as they waged a hard fought battle for real estate. Lindsay got by Zielinski late in the event and a lap later Zielinski suffered from mechanical problems and pulled out of the event. Weisenfluh collected his third win of the season with Lindsay getting runner-up honors. Lacoe was third with Dennis Stawinsky fourth and Tony Parlanti completing the top five. Geordan Marrero headed up the second five with Matt Zielinski, BRandon Nicholas, Jake Eby and Noah Zielinski following.

"Bad" Chad Sandt took the lead at the start of the Chad Wheeler Excavating 600 Sprint event and he would lead through the first four laps until Billy Koch pulled off a slider in turn three and was able to control the point. The event was far from over as fifth starting Joey Amantea began to turn up the heat in his JPA Masonry hot rod. Amantea was able to drive by those in front of him to gain second place and with a couple of laps to go put a ton of pressure on Koch. Amantea was able to drive alongside of Koch but Amantea had to check up as the racing was that close, allowing Koch to gain a margin of victory as the pair crossed the start/finish line with Koch just nipping Amantea. Chad Sandt was third in a solid performance while Noah Zielinski was fourth in his first start and Mack Brink completed the top five, The second five was headed up by Paul Richards Jr with Geordan Marrero, Zack Weisenfluh, Duane White and Scott Slater rounding out the top ten.

PEARL JAMS:

Kudos to Randy Smith for an excellent track surface that once again found the drivers utilizing the many racing channels throughout the evening of competition. Additional time was taken to keep the track surface smooth and tacky throughout the evening of speed.

The JPA Masonry Rookie Wingless 600 Sprint heats were captured by Ryan Lacoe and Hunter Metzger. The Wingless 600 Sprints ran off two heats with Chad Sandt and Noah Zielinski capturing the wins. The Junior Slingshots ran one heat with JJ Rice claiming the victory. All Star Slingshot heats were won by Ashley Kober and a very excited Andrew Turpin for getting his first heat win. Wes Hearn captured the Super Slinger heat event. John Mirabelli captured the Stage One Modified heat run.

Special thanks to LeAnn Hearn for her assistance all night and to former racer JD Cazzaza for taking control of turns one and two for the evening. The Timing Controls failed in the tower and the limited staff did a yeoman's job in keeping up with the show throughout the evening. It was back to the days of hand scoring for some of the events and arthritis kicking in towards the end of the evening.

Announcer Steve Pados offered a special prayer for great racer Greg Hodnett who lost his life on Thursday night at another speedway. Hodnett was a many time guest on the Pados Brother's Gasoline Alley show. All of the features were 27 laps in honors of Hodnett and the Lelands.com race team.

Once again many thanks to all of the teams and sponsors for kicking in for the special bonus race addition at Hamlin. All of you make Hamlin Speedway a special place to be on Saturday night and we can't thank you enough for your support and loyalty.

The event ends the season at Hamlin. A party in November at S&S Speedways will take place with awards being handed out. More information will follow on the speedway website.

On behalf of the Smith Family and Staff, thank you all for being part of our Hamlin racing community.

Hamlin, PA -Hamlin Speedway National Tour Events To Jared Silfee And Tanner VanDoren
By: Steve Pados, GA Motorsports Media

Hamlin Speedway Promoters Randy and Denise Smith welcomed in 120 plus racers on Saturday evening as they head into their final events of the 2018 racing season. The emphasis on the All Star and Junior Slingshot divisions quite honestly never materialized as only three touring stars made their way to Hamlin for the national tour events. Nevertheless, the racing was top notch in all divisions and a great crowd was on hand to watch the Hamlin driving stars heave their race cars around the 1/5th mile clay cushioned attraction. With some big dollars on the line, a great field of entries came out to the Pocono Mountains to further enhance their standing in the Hamlin points battles which ended with this event. The high flying racing action was sponsored by the good folks at S&S Speedways Indoor Go Karts located in Stroudsburg, PA. (www.ssspeedways.com) Florida Keys Air Conditioning added five hundred dollars to the Stage One Modified purse while Speed Sport Showcase offered one hundred dollars to the hard charger in the All Star Slingshot feature headliner. Some very happy winners found their way to the RLE Towing and Recovery Winners Circle at the end of the evening of racing action. The eight feature show was completed at 10:43 PM.

The Saturday night action found Jared Silfee putting on a clinic as he led the entire fifty lap feature in the All Star Slingshot feature headliner. Wally Bell captured the regular Super Slinger feature run for his first ever win at the speedway. Dennis Chamberlain and newcomer Bob Hummer captured wins in the JPA Masonry Rookie Wingless 600 Sprint finales. "The Travelin Man" Mick D'Agostino put the finishing touches on the greatest weekend of his racing life as he captured the Chad Wheeler Excavating Wingless Sprint feature and with that capturing his second consecutive Hamlin Speedway track title. D'Agostino had similar success at the Accord Speedway on Friday night as he captured the NEWS Sprint Car Championship in his initial season of competition. "TVD" Tanner VanDoren captured the National Junior Slingshot tour event with a wire to wire run. "Deuce" Glenn Macomber got back to his winning ways as he captured the regular 270 Sprint feature.

In the National All Star Slingshot feature, Jared Silfee wasted no time as he grabbed the lead at the start of the fifty lap main and took no prisoners as he was definitely in the zone to control the action. Wally Bell and invader Brett Bieber took up the chase and put on a great show for the fans as Bell ran the top and Bieber kept digging from the baseline. The laps clicked off and by lap twenty Silfee was into slower traffic. Methodically he worked his way through the traffic and as Bell, Bieber and Scott Neary came upon the slower racers, Bell went to the top with Neary diving down low and Bieber stuck in the middle and Neary coming out in the runner-up role, Bieber in third and Bell dropping some spots in the transaction. While some skirmishes brought the field together, the night belonged to Jared Silfee as he was turning constant 14.2 second laps while driving away from his competition. Jared Silfee would earn the win with his show stopping performance with Neary driving from a seventh place start to finish second. Bieber was third in a steady run with Austin Silfee and Wes Hearn completing the top five. The second five found Mike McLaughlin dusting off the racing shoes to fiinish sixth in his first Hamlin start of the year as former track regular turned invader Kyle Herve would finish seventh after starting 15th and earning the Hard Charger Award put up by Speed Sport Showcase in Scranton, Pennsylvania. Wally Bell would finish eighth and steady Tanner Jones and Dale Kober completed the top ten.

The Hampton RV & Trailer Sales Stage One Modified headliner with the Florida Keys Air Conditioning Bonus found Tanner VanDoren jumping out front early but getting stiff pressure from Jacob Nemeth. Nemeth tried all of the angles but VanDoren held his ground until a group of cars fighting for the lead, including Adam Buchel, Amanda Buchel and Cody Motto had all of the cars entering the third turn at the same time and VanDoren and Nemeth both spun. Amanda Buchel inherited the lead and would run some quick 13.2 second lap times to hold her brother Adam at bay. Amanda would lead the rest of the way to claim her first win of the season and the bonus bucks from Florida Keys Air Conditioning. Adam Buchel was second to make it a clean sweep for the Florida Keys AC/Cole Polishing sponsored race team. John Comandini was third with Cody Motto fourth and Joel Smith completing the top five. The rest of the finishers included Joel Price, Jeff Hineline, Evan Civick and newcomer Mark Evans.

The 270 Sprint feature found Glenn Macomber with the hot hand on this night as he wired the field in the twenty lap excursion. Macomber reeled off some 12.1 second lap times to step away from the field and get his fifth win of the season. Kyle Ferrucci finally broke through some of the problems he has encountered in a tough season in racing to garner in runner-up honors while Don Schmidt was third, Alex Reinsmith fourth and Anthony Chrobak nailing down fifth place. Newcomers John Wagner Jr and Ross Hollar completed the field.

The Super Slingshot feature event found Wally Bell ringing the bell harder than the rest of his competition as would capture his first ever win in the Donaldson Farms/Jersey Girl Brewery entry. Dale Kober would race from fourth to second with Paul Ennes third, Jim Conroy fourth, and the returning Richie VanOrden fifth. Derek DeSilva and David Guest completed the field.

Tanner VanDoren raced into the lead at the start and would receive early pressure from JJ Rice and Shelby McLaughlin. VanDoren was able to control the pace of the race with some quick 14.8 second laps times. A couple of skirmishes brought the field together and on the restart VanDoren would repel the challenges from Rice and McLaughlin and the returning Abby Yates. After the final restart, VanDoren was able to open up some distance on those behind him and would go on to capture the National Junior Slingshot tour event. Rice, McLaughlin, Yates in another Florida Keys AC sponsored hot rod was fourth with Brian Smith steady as a rock in fifth place. The second five found Kasey Hufcut, Nolan Palaima, invader Tyler Ulsh, Joey Kalafut and James Benz completing the top ten.

The first of two JPA Masonry Rookie Wingless 600 Sprint encounters found newcomer Bob Hummer more than up to the task as he wired the field in a race that found Zack Weisenfluh applying the pressure every step of the way. Weisenfluh was able to pull up even with Hummer on a few occasions throughout the twenty lap distance but Hummer prevailed for his first ever win at Hamlin. Weisenfluh was second in a great run with Dennis Stawinsky, Ryan Lacoe, the returning Savannah Leggio, newcomer Ryan Conrad, Rob Burakowski and another newcomer Ken Karpovich completing the field.

In the second JPA Masonry sponsored event, Garden Stater Dennis Chamberlain was all business as he grabbed the lead at the start and led all twenty laps to capture his second win of the season. Jack Hanna chased him all of the way to finish second as he too had the opportunity to shake off some of the gremlins that had give them trouble in recent weeks. Richie Maguire was third in a great run with Carmen Leggio Sr and Jr next in line to complete the top five. Tony Parlanti headed up the second five with Fred Heinly, Rich Maguire, Naoh Zielinski, Scott Slater Sr and Matt Zielinski completing the field.

Joel Smith took the lead at the start of the Chad Wheeler Excavating 600 Sprint event and he would lead through the first laps until Cody Smith and Paul Richards Jr got together in turn three and disabling both cars from the event. On the restart, Mick D'Agostino and his traveling show went to the top of the raceway and got a great run off of turn two to wrest the lead away from Smith. D'Agostino was able to drive away from the field with some very quick 11.9 second laps while Smith, Chad Sandt, Joseph Smith and Tyler Lindsay waged war with each other as each driver used a different seam on the raceway to find the sweet spot to go faster. In the end, the D'Agostino move to grab the lead, was the drive he would need to go to victory in one of the most hotly contested events of the season. Joel Smith, Chad Sandt and Joseph Smith and Lindsay would complete the top five. There was no slacking off in talent in the second five either as Danny Buccafusca headed up the list with Joe Nemeth, Hunter Metzger, Geordan Marrero and Colin White rounding out the top ten. Twenty of the 27 entry starting field completed all of the twenty feature laps.

PEARL JAMS:

The hotly contested evening of racing entertainment was precise in every step of the way and even with a couple of breaks for track maintenance the staff kept moving the program along swiftly and the seven division, eight feature show was completed at 10:43 PM. Kudos to Randy Smith for an excellent track surface that found the drivers utilizing many racing channels throughout the evening of competition.

The JPA Masonry Rookie Wingless 600 Sprint heats were captured by Bob Hummer, Jack Hanna and Savannah Leggio. The Wingless 600 Sprints ran off three heats with Chad Sandt, Mick D'Agostino and Joel Smith capturing wins. The Junior Slingshots ran off two rounds of heats with Austin Homan and Tanner VanDoren winning the first round and Tyler Ulsh and Brian Smith winning in round two. All Star Slingshot heats also went two rounds with Jared Silfee winning in each round while Brett Bieber and CJ Fritz were also winners in round one. Paul Ennes and Austin Silfee captured the additional heats in round two. Stage One Modifieds were won by Amanda Buchel and Jacob Nemeth. The Super Slinger heat went to Wally Bell and the 270 Sprint heat was claimed by Glenn Macomber.

During the intermission period, Announcer Steve Pados interviewed the owners of the Florida Keys Air Conditioning, Jonathan and Lisa Murphy regarding the great bonus money they put up for the event and their long association with the Buchel Family. As Mr Murphy explained, "racing is about family" and the families have enjoyed a long friendship dating back to when the Flemington Speedway was throwing clay. The staff and management of the Hamlin Speedway thank them for going out of their way to assist in the racing activity at the speedway. On another note, the money will stay in house as Amanda Buchel captured the win and the bonus. Florida Keys website is: www.floridakeysac.com

Thanks to Tony Frable and his Speed Sport Showcase team for putting up the $100.00 for the Hard Charger in the All Star Slingshot event. Kyle Herve won the Award. Speed Sport Showcase will once again take place in 2019 in Scranton with details for the event still being hammered out. The website is: www.speedsportshowcase.com

Thanks to John Gilroy from Gilroy Excavation for a bnus he placed for the leader of lap twenty in the event and the money went to Jared Silfee.

Some of the regular racing fans at Hamlin were disappointed in the fact the National Touring drivers were absent and stayed away from the event but hats off to Brett Bieber, Kyle Herve, the Lapicki family and Junior star Tyler Ulsh for making the effort to attend the event and support Slingshot racing. Jason Kraycirik made his first Hamlin run and did a great job in his Phillipsburg/Easton Honda sponsored racer. Brett Schantz was another first timer.

Brandon Nicholas was back in action after taking a nasty tumble a few weeks ago. Welcome back Brandon. Jackie Maguire picked up the winnings of the 50/50 raffle.

After this evening, our tower girl Olivia Mease is stepping away from her post after joining us five years ago. While she will be missed, we wish her the best as she completes her education and goes to work in the nursing field.

Even though the season is in the latter stages of the 2018 racing season, there is still plenty of hot racing action coming September 22nd to close out the 2018. season. Make sure you come out to the speedway before the season ends, you are going to love it.

Accord, NY- Accord Speedway Names 2018 Champions To Highlight Spectacular Race Card
By: Steve Pados, Accord Speedway Media

The final days of the summer acts as the informant to alert fans the 2018 racing season is heading into the final stages of the season. Accord Speedway's final regular season points battles came to a conclusion on Friday evening as damp but muggy weather arrived to the Catskill Mountains of New York state. The Friday evening of events brought out a nice sized crowd to the speedway as the Accord Speedway presented it's "Night of Champions" to the "Gem in the Catskills" facility. All track champions were crowned in the final evening of points at the speedway for the 2018 racing season. The over the top event was sponsored by Orange County Fair Speedway and Taylor Rental. Their websites are: www.orangecountyfairspeedway.net and www.taylorrental.com

With some of the divisions at the speedway beyond tight in the point chases, all drivers with aspirations for a track title had to be at their very best to land in the WRWD Radio victory lane when the racing was completed. Heading up the list of 2018 track champions is "The Montgomery Missile" Anthony Perrego who enjoyed a great 2018 season and finished strongly to capture the Insinger Fuels Modified division title and in doing so captured his second Modified title at the track as he also was champion in 2016. "The Bushkill Bullet" Kyle Rohner was dominant all season and captured six wins during the season on his way to his fourth Accord Speedway title in the Arkel Motors Sportsmen division. "The Traveling Man" Mick D'Agostino spent the first few weeks learning a new division but quickly learned the short way around Accord as he scored six wins and remained consistent all season long to place his stamp onto the speedway title in the WRWD Radio NEWS Sprint Car division. The Upstate Auto Pure Stock racers had three drivers vying for the title but when the final tally rang down it would be Steve Williams winning the title in the hotly contested Upstate Auto Pure Stock division to earn his second driving title at Accord. The Emmanuel's Marketplace Fireball 4-Cylinder title found Jerry Kingeter the most consistent of a great group of competitors as he waltzed to title in the first year racing division.

The event brought out a nice field of drivers and racing equipment as the event served a dual purpose for the drivers who will be entering the spectacular "King of the Catskills" events scheduled for Saturday night, September 29th. The racing action during the evening was hot, heavy and hectic on the speedway with a few of the track titles still on the line. Anthony Perrego was fast and furious as he captured his third win of the season in the Insinger Fuel Modifieds. Chris VanDuser had a fast set of wheels under him as he claimed his first ever Accord win in the Arkel Motors Sportsman finale. John Hechinger captured his first ever Accord Speedway after a couple of competitors in front of him were found illegal and Hechinger was credited with the win in the Upstate Auto Pure Stock headliner. "Captain Quick" Jeremy Quick dominated the action to win his sixth feature of the season in WRWD Sprint Car action. John Brown took over the lead on lap five and went on to capture his first ever win at Accord in the Rookie Sportsman finale. Two features for the Emmanuel's Marketplace would prove to scramble the Fireballer's point battle with Richard Smith capturing the held-over feature event while Mike Travis had more than enough ammo to shoot down the rest of the field in capturing his first feature win at Accord in the night-cap.

The Insinger Fuels Modified division found the veteran Ken Ferrier jumping out front at the start and setting a torrid pace in the event. Kyle VanDuser, Rich Ricci III and Nick Johnson took up the chase but seventh starting Anthony Perrego was making big waves while charging forward. By lap four Perrego had moved into fourth and one by one those in front of him fell prey to the fast running Perrego hot rod. Moving into the runner-up slot by lap seven Perrego tried a couple of different lines but Ferrier hung tough and continued to dice it out with the newly crowned champion. Perrego cleared Ferrier to take over the lead on lap ten and Perrego was rocking the house with some 13 second lap times to leave the rest of the field in his wake. Perrego would capture his third Accord Speedway win of the season with Ferrier a solid second place finish. Jimmy Wells would hustle to third place while, Mike Ricci and Danny Creeden would complete the top five. Kyle VanDuser would head up the second five with Rich Ricci III, the returning Michael Storms, Jesse Marks and Rich Eurich finishing up the top ten. With the win Perrego also won the qualified spot for the big Eastern States 200 to be held at the Orange County Fair Speedway in October.

The WRWD Radio NEWS Sprint Car feature found Jeremy Quick an absolute rocket as he grabbed the lead from fourth starting place on lap one and he would the control the point the entire twenty laps to capture his sixth feature win of the season. MIck D'Agostino claimed runner-up honors and along with it, capturing his first Accord Speedway championship in the process. The Malley Boys, Jordan Lawrence and Dan Malley followed with Gary Huston completing the top five.

The Upstate Auto Pure Stock finale proved to be an exciting as well as entertaining event as Jay Smalley jumped into the early lead with Travis Brockner taking up the chase. Smalley led until lap twelve when he drifted high in turn two and Brockner seized the opportunity to blast into the lead. Brockner would cross the line as the winner with Smalley in second but post race infractions found both cars disqualified and placed to the rear. John Hechinger, who had never won at the speedway in the past, was credited with the win with Steve Williams in second place. The finish would vault Williams to the championship. Emerson Cargain Jr was third while Livy Johnson, Mike DuBois, Chris Kanuk, Tim Southard and Rich Scott following.

Chris VanDuser got off to a phenomenal start in the Arkel Motors Sportsman feature headliner. VanDuser would receive a heap of pressure coming from Leo Fotopoulos, as the young driving star was competing in his final sportsman event before stepping into the Modified ranks. With the top four cars clicking off lap times in the 13.7 to 13.8 second mark, the racing was tight and calculating. VanDuser would never waiver in his quest to capture the win and fought off the advances of Fotopoulos time and time again. VanDuser would cross the line first for his first ever win at Accord while Fotopoulos was the runner-up. The newly crowned champion Kyle Rohner raced from tenth to take over third in the waning laps from the veteran Harry Baldwin who would earn a fourth place finish and Ryan McCartney completed the top five. Corey Cormier, in a second McCartney entry was sixth with Tyler Johnston, Alex VanPelt, Travis Green and Mike Senecal completing the top ten.

Robbie Colburn used his outside pole position start to grab the lead at the start of the WRWD Rookie Sportsman feature. Colburn was on his way to a huge lead but a caution brought the field to a halt. When racing resumed John Brown began to pressure Colburn and would take over the lead on lap six. Brown was fast but Colburn remained behind him throughout the remainder of the event with Brown winning his first main event at the speedway. Colburn would be the runner-up with Brian Durbin, Jeff Higham, Michael Corbin, Erin Paulison and Samantha Muller completing the field.

The Fireballer's held-over feature found Ken Barringer jumping out front early on and holding onto it despite constant pressure from a trio of hot rods. Barringer would lead until lap twelve when tenth starting Richard Smith pulled even with Barringer as they raced out of turn four. As they crossed the starting stripe Smith nosed his way into the lead and took over the lead for good in turn one. Smith would race to his fifth win of the season with Barringer second in what may have been his best finish of the season. Ed King, Brandon Conklin and Jeff DeGroat rounded out the top five while Willie DeGraw, Dave Bendell, Mike Travis, Jerry Kingster and Bob Clarke completed the top ten.

The second event for the Fireballer's, Ryan Heady jumped out front and led for two laps before Mike Travis found the baseline to his liking and he took control of the lead. From then on it would Travis separating himself from the field as he cake-walked into victory lane for his first win in 2018. Jeff DeGroat, Richard Smith, Ed King, George Barringer, Brandon Conklin, Brent Shaddock, Ken Barringer, Bob Clarke and Nicole Nelson complted the top ten.

GEMSTONES:

Despite the weather, Promoter Gary Palmer, gave the competitors a great track to race on resulting in some of the fastest times of the season in most divisions. The talented roster of drivers tested the many racing channels of the speedway throughout the evening in preparation for the blockbuster "King of the Catskills" spectacular coming up on September 29th and sponsored by Insinger Fuels.

Heat race action in the Modifieds found Rich Ricci III and Nick Johnson capturing victories. Alex VanPelt, Matt Shultz and Leo Fotopoulos scored heat wins in the Sportsman action. The Pure Stock heats went to Emerson Cargain and Travis Brockner. Mick D'Agostino captured the Sprint Car heat win. The rookie heat win went to Robbie Colburn. Fireball Heats were claimed by Ryan Heady, Mike Travis and Jerry Kingeter.

Happy birthday wishes go out to Bob Sleight.

Accord, NY- First Responders Night At Accord Speedway An Overwhelming Success; Bachetti Wins Again
The Catskills Mountains of New York State provided the backdrop for a spectacular Friday evening as the Accord Speedway presented the annual First Responders tribute for the greater Hudson Valley area. The over the top event was sponsored by the good folks from Upstate Auto (www.upstateautoinc.com) and Ulster Firearms and featured a sensational tribute to all First Responders. The event portion for the First Responders was headed up by Jim Slinsky and the Ulster County Sheriff's Office K9 Team. An over the top presentation featuring music, bag pipes, 21 gun salute, narration with video, echoing bugles and a tremendous number of fire trucks and emergency equipment filled the speedway. The show was brought to a climactic close with an another fireworks/skyworks extravaganza from Santore's Famous Fireworks. DJ Tim Adams provided the music during the celebration.

While the evening had a bit of everything going on, the racing action at track-side was once again superb from all angles. Picking up wins were "The Wild Child" Andy Bachetti as he sailed to victory in the Insinger Fuels Modifieds with a dominating wire to wire triumph to pick up his fourth win of the season at Accord. In the Arkel Motors Sportsman division, Kevin Stevens flexed his muscles as he steered his Frank Stevens Roofing sponsored hot rod to his first ever win at Accord. Not to be outdone, Dan Malley hustled his Malley Pool Water entry to the front and led all of the way to capture his first ever Accord win in the WRWD NEWS Sprint Car division. Showing that his trusty Camaro still had what it takes, Bob Sleight grabbed the lead at the halfway point and raced to his third win of the season in the Upstate Auto Pure Stock division feature.

Nick Johnson and Kyle VanDuser brought the Modifieds down for the start of the thirty lap feature attraction and the event began on an even keel as the field raced through turns one and two. Bachetti, who started from fourth slid to the inside heading down the backstretch and passed by both Johnson and VanDuser to take control of the event. Once in front, Bachetti ate up real estate and built up a huge lead that would evaporate on lap thirteen when Ed Burgess came to a halt in turn two. On the restart Bachetti powered away but by this time Tyler Boniface and Danny Creeden were having a dogfight for the runner-up role. Boniface, who had only competed in a handful events at Accord in 2018, proved he had himself a stout piece of equipment to battle with Creeden and the pair put on some excellent racing for the fans. Joe Judge encountered problems on lap-25 and the field went to caution for the final time. On the restart, Bachetti again controlled the point and would go on to record his foruth win of the season at Accord. Creeden was second with Boniface third, Anthony Perrego drove to fourth place and Nick Johnson was fifth in a stellar run for the rookie Modified talent. Heading up the second five was Rich Ricci Jr with Jimmy Wells, Danny Tyler, Jesse Marks and Ray See Jr completing the top ten finishers.

In the Arkel Motors Sportsman battle, Harry Baldwin would lead the first two laps until he spun in front of the storming traffic in turn four. On the restart, Kevin Stevens lined up from the outside and grabbed the lead out of turn four. Stevens was consistent with some 13.9 second lap times and would have a good lead until lap nine when Nick Plumstead suffered mechanical problems in his borrowed ride. On the restart, Stevens again showed he had the power but Tyler Johnston came quickly onto the scene after he slipped past hard running Danny Morgiewicz. Another restart was needed on lap-17 when Anthony Recchio spun and on the restart Stevens and Johnston were nose to tail and would remain that way with the checkered flag falling on lap twenty with Stevens winning his first feature at Accord and Johnston finishing second. Morgiewicz was third with Leo Fotopoulos and Cole Hentschel completing the top five. The second five found Charles Loiodice, Alex VanPelt, Travis Green, in his first run in Sportsman, Ryan McCartney and Kyle Rohner completing the top ten.

The WRWD Radio Rookie Sportsman feature found Brian Durbin with a fast hot rod as he led all of the way to claim his second win of the season. Robbie Colburn gave Durbin plenty of chase to finish as the runner-up while John Brown would be third, Jason Armstrong Fourth and Kyle Swart fifth.

Dan Malley was all business as he took the lead at the drop of the green flag and would lead the first two laps until newcomer Kyle Pugliese got upside down and back on his wheels in turn two. On the restart, Malley would race away to a huge advantage and now had Andrew Davis and Jeremy Quick staying with him. Davis and Quick would race nose to tail as they closed in on Malley. The battle ended with Malley crossing the line to capture his first win at Accord, while Davis would jump the cushion and the move allowed Quick to slide into second with Davis recovering and finishing third. Mick D'Agostino, Mike Traver, Jordan Lawrence, Mark Connolly and Gary Huston completed the field of sprinters.

The close competition of the Upstate Auto Pure Stock division makes for great racing action and the night would prove to be no exception. John Hechinger took the lead at the start and would lead through four laps until a faulty tires put him on the sidelines. The reigning track champion Travis Brockner would inherit the lead and the wind as he would lead through lap seven. Bob Sleight found the inside of the speedway to his liking and was able to pull even with Brockner and slip past him to gain control of the point. Once in front, Sleight would lead while behind a four car battle was going on and would remain that way until the checkered flag fell ending the event with Sleight winning his third feature of the season. Brockner would finish second with Livy Johnson, Emerson Cargain Jr and Steve Williams completing the top five. Following would be Johnny Miracle, Tom Cilurso Jr, Rich Scott, Chris Kanuk and Tim Southard to complete the top ten.

The Emmanuel's Marketplace Fireball feature was postponed until next week.

GEMSTONES:

Despite the fact it rained until noon, Promoter Gary Palmer worked right up until race time to give the racers an excellent speedway top to bottom and it showed with many three and four wide racing taking place throughout the evening. After the all of the First REsponders equipment left the speedway, Palmer gave the track the once over and all of the features were fabulous. Andy Bachetti had the fast time of the evening with some quick 13.4 second lap times while more than a half dozen drivers were clocking in the 13.6 to 13.9 range.

The talented roster of drivers tested the many racing channels of the speedway throughout the evening in preparation for the blockbuster "King of the Catskills" spectacular coming up on September 29th and sponsored by Insinger Fuels.

The speedway took an extended intermission period to pay tribute to all of the First Responders who work so diligently to keep our home security safe. Headed up by Jim Slinsky and the Ulster County Sheriff's Office K9 Team, many pieces of equipment came out onto the speedway in darkness and hoisted a 70 foot US Flag through the use of ladder trucks and at the designated moment all lights came on and put up an amazing display that covered the speedway and the entire infield area. Many thanks are in order to all of those who played a part in putting the spectacular event together. Santore's Famous Fireworks once again lit up the sky with their over the top fireworks extravaganza. DVD Copies of the entire salute to the First Responders are available through Videographer Tom Czaban and can be ordered by phone at: 518-250-0001. Taking part in the ceremony were: Accord, Ellenville, Tillson, Sawkill, Hurley, Kerhonkson, Rosendale, Stone Ridge, Craigsmoor, Napanoch and Saxton Fire Departments, Ulster County Fire Coordinator, Kerhonkson-Accord First Aid, Ellenville Rescue Squad, Esopus EMS, Kingston Nissan and Ulster County Sheriff's Office.

The National Anthem was sung by Vincent Nigro. Narration was provided by the Sheriff of Ulster County Paul J.VanBlarcum. Ulster County Sheriff's Chaplain Christopher Arnold led the prayer.

Special thanks are in order to those who donated to the fireworks including Upstate Auto, Ulster Firearms, RJ Smith Racing, Advance Concrete Foundations, Superior Remodeling, Peak Engineering, Saunderskill Farm, Shakelton NAPA, Fast Signs of Kingston, Arrowood Farm and Santore's Famous Fireworks. We truly appreciate your efforts.

"Uncle Mike" Hansen from WRWD Radio was back on board last evening with the WRWD Radio show truck and once again joined announcers Steve Pados and Tim Adams in the tower. Mike thanked promoters Gary and Donna Palmer for their hospitality as he thoroughly enjoyed the great racing action taking place on the speedway and the great spirit of the First Responders presentation..

A bike raffle courtesy of Upstate Auto had Annabel Mihm winning the girls bike and Bentley Thomsen winning the boys bike

Happy birthday wishes go out to Hailey Markle and Randy Anderson. The newly married Mr and Mrs Roger Lebron spent part of their honeymoon at the Accord Speedway. Congratulations folks!

Grandma Anne's Pies were distributed to all feature winners

Special Thanks go out to Clayton McCartney and Benny Campbell for assisting the speedway when a meter box blew out and rendering a portion of the speedway semi-dark. Thanks guys for being there for us.

Leo Fotopoulos, Kevin Stevens and Nick Plumstead scored heat wins in the Sportsman action. The Pure Stock heats went to Jay Smalley and Travis Brockner. At that point in time an extended intermission period will pay tribute to all of the First Responders who work so diligently to keep our home security safe. The spirit of the salute to the First Responders event is just a small way to thank and honor them for the job and services they do as they deal with unimaginable circumstances each day they report for duty. Santore's Famous Fireworks, as they did in June, will once again light up the skies above the speedway with their over the top fireworks extravaganza. Hamlin, PA -Hamlin Speedway Goes Ten Again Features With Outstanding Labor Day show
By: Steve Pados, GA Motorsports Media

Hamlin Speedway Promoters Randy and Denise Smith welcomed in their regular seven divisions on Saturday evening to usher in Labor Day weekend at their speedway. The rainy, hot, humid weather that has been a benchmark of the summer of 2018 alleviated over the holiday weekend and great, comfortable, time to go racing weather greeted the standing room only crowd and the 100 plus racers that entered the racing action in the Pocono Mountains. On tap was the special event for the Hampton RV & Trailer Sales Stage One Modifieds with the running of the annual Mom & Pop Smith Memorial race. Playing catch-up with a couple of races that were postponed on July 21st, Hamlin ran like clockwork with an over the top show that climaxed with the running of an unbelievable ten feature event program duplicating the ten show night from the previous week. The high flying racing action was sponsored by the good folks at S&S Speedways Indoor Go Karts located in Stroudsburg, PA. (www.ssspeedways.com) Happy winners found their way to the RLE Towing and Recovery Winners Circle at the end of the evening for all of the pomp and circumstance. The ten feature show was completed at 10:32 PM.

The Saturday night action found "The Nickel Man" Joel Smith rocking the house with a wire to wire run in the thirty lap Hampton RV & Trailer Sales Stage One Modified Mom & Pop Smith Memorial event. Jared Silfee used some last lap heroics to capture his second win of the in All Star Slingshot feature headliner. "The Oxford Express" Dale Kober captured the regular Super Slinger feature run. "The Taylor Tornado" Zack Weisenfluh captured his second win of the season in the JPA Masonry Rookie Wingless 600 Sprint finale. "Bad" Chad Sandt took advantage of an incident in front of him as he inherited the lead and then drove away from the field to claim his second consecutive win and his fourth of the season in the Chad Wheeler Excavating Wingless 600 Sprint headliner. "Lil Miss" Shelby McLaughlin turned up the wick in her hot rod as she sped to her fifth win of the season in the Junior Slingshot feature. Alex Reinsmith rolled a double as he captured the regular 270 Sprint feature and also won the held-over event from July 21st. In the Super Slinger make-up feature from July 21st, Alan Kober was all business as he led all of the way to claim his first win of the season. Three Restricted 600 Sprints came to the speedway and the feature found Dylan Kontra fast and then faster as he captured with win with room to spare.

In the Mom & Pop Smith Memorial event for the Hampton RV & Trailer Sales Stage One Modified run with lap money on the line, Joel Smith rocketed out front at the drop of the green flag and throughout the thirty laps of hard fought racing, Smith claimed his fifth win of the season as he was able to blister the clay with consistent 12.8 second laps. John Comandini was able to keep pace as he was knocking off some impressive 12.9 second laps in his own right. Smith won with Comandini second, Tanner VanDoren third, Amanda Buchel fourth in the Cole Polishing hot rod and Joe Price rallying to claim fifth place. Jasper Ziegafuse, Quarter Midget star Mark Evans, Cody Motto and Evan Civick completed the field. Amanda Buchel claimed the Hard Charger Award for the event as she advanced five positions during the run.

In the All Star Slingshot feature, Paul Ennes grabbed the lead at the start of the twenty lap main and led for the first three laps before Adam Buchel in another Cole Polishing Sponsored hot rod was able to drive by him on a restart. Buchel was being pressured by Ennes, Wes Hearn and Scott Neary. The action was close and the quarters were tight as the laps clicked off. Jared Silfee began from eighth place and was making waves as he advanced through the field. Buchel held his ground and fought off the very tough competition time and time again. A late restart found Jared Silfee in the runner-up role and he began to make his assault for the lead. He pulled even with Buchel and the duo touched and Silfee slipped past Buchel for the lead and the win, his second of the season. Buchel was a disappointed runner-up with Hearn , Ennes and Neary completing the top five. Heading up the second five was the returning Taylor Mills with Ashley Kober, Tanner Jones, Austin Silfee and Dale Kober completing the top ten.

The 270 Sprint feature found Alex Reinsmith taking off with the lead at the start and he would quickly distance himself from the field with some 11.985 second lap times and handily capturing the win. Glenn Macomber would finish in second place with the returning Don Schmidt third and Anthony Chrobak fourth. Schmidt and Chrobak raced together for twenty laps dueling for third place with Schmidt prevailing.

The Super Slingshot feature event found Dale Kober spot on as he led the entire distance with some fast 13.6 second times as he claimed his third win of the season. Paul Ennes, who has returned to racing after a couple of years hiatus, was second in a great run as he returns to championship form on the race track. Wes Hearn was third with Jim Conroy, Greg Zellman, Wally Bell and David Guest following

Shelby McLaughlin raced into the lead from her front row start and would easily distance herself from the field with some quick 14.8 second laps times. A couple of skirmishes brought the field together and on the restart McLaughlin would lead but Kasey Hufcut had moved into second place. The duo would leave the field in their wake as it clearly became a two car chase for the win. Hufcut would slow with two laps remaining and drop from the field. McLaughlin would win her fifth main event of the season and solidify her hold in the point lead. JJ Rice would settle for second with Austin Homan doing great work for third place, Aiden Donaldson in fourth and Brian Smith claiming fifth place.. The second five found James Benz heading up the action with RJ Sherman, Charlene Benz, James Hendricks and James Costlow completing the top ten.

The JPA Masonry Rookie Wingless 600 Sprint encounter found Zack Weisenfluh hammer down at the start with four time winner "Nitro" Noah Zielinski applying the pressure. Newcomer Kenny Harris, Scott Slater and Richie Maguire had their own battle going for third place. As the laps clicked off, the drivers were evenly matched and Zielinski tried every channel of the raceway he knew to slip past Weisenfluh. It was not to be as Weisenfluh sped to his second win of the season with Zielinski in the runner-up role. Harris, Slater and Maguire would complete the top five. Heading up the second five were Ryan Stangle, Ryan Lacoe, Dennis Stawinsky, Dennis Chamberlain and Cody Powell.

Joel Smith took the lead at the start of the Chad Wheeler Excavating 600 Sprint event with Zack Weisenfluh, Duane White and Colin White chasing him. Smith was strong and hung tough while Colin White made his way into second place. Smith and White were now in a classic duel with Smith controlling the baseline of the speedway. A couple of restarts found White trying sliders but Smith fought off each advance. On lap thirteen, as they approached the the third turn, White got to the inside of Smith and tried another slider but Smith was aside of him and the pair made contact and Smith spun. White and Smith would be sent to the back of the field but while Smith complied, White did not and eventually pulled off of the raceway. When the racing resumed Chad Sandt took over the point when he drove to the top of the raceway in turn one and powered his Ron Sandt Motorsports entry to a few car length lead with former two time track champion Eddie Strada in pursuit. Sandt would work his magic and go on to capture his fourth win of the season. Strada would receive runner-up honors in his return to the speedway while Duane White, Joe Nemeth and Mick D'Agostino would follow in the top five. Heading up the second five were Joseph Smith, Zack Weisenfluh, the returning Amber Oraschin, Cody Smith and Tyler Lindsay.

In the held-over Super Slinger event, Alan Kober took advantage of a front row start and would lead all of the way to earn his first feature win of the season in the division. Greg Zellman would finish second with Dale Kober, Paul Ennes, Jim Conroy and David Guest following.

The held-over 270 Sprint event found Alex Reinsmith taking command at the start and leading all twenty laps on his way to victory. Glenn Macomber would finish second with Don Schmidt in third. Kyle Ferrucci would run into mechanical woes late in the event and scratched for the remainder of the evening.

In our first glimpse of the new restricted 600 Sprint division, three car made their way to the speedway. Dylan Kontra ran some very fast times around the speedway to the tune of 11.799 second laps to claim the win with Tyler Henry claiming second and Tanner VanDoren third. The cars had wings affixed for the shake down.

PEARL JAMS:

The JPA Masonry Rookie Wingless 600 Sprint heats were captured by Scott Slater and Noah Zielinski. The Wingless 600 Sprints ran off three heats with Colin White, Zack Weisenfluh and Joel Smith capturing wins. the first set and Mike Thompson and Chad Sandt prevailing in round two. Junior Slingshot heats were claimed by Austin Homan and Aiden Donaldson. All Star Slingshot heats went to Paul Ennes and Adam Buchel. Tanner VanDoren won the restricted 600 Sprint heat. Two rounds of heats were run off for the Stage One Modifieds with Joel Smith and John Comandini winning the first round and Jasper Ziegafuse and John Comandini winning the second round.

Time trials found the Super Slingers and 270 Sprints taking time trials. In the Super Slingers Paul Ennes was the top gun with a 14.368 second clocking. In the 270 Sprints, Glenn Macomber had top time with a 12.2 second lap time.
