Daryn Pittman Convincingly Scores 9th Win of 2018 in FVP Platinum Battery Shootout at Lakeside Speedway
KANSAS CITY, KS – October 19, 2018 – Daryn Pittman scored his ninth World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series Feature win of the season in convincing fashion, leading every lap of the FVP Platinum Battery Shootout at Lakeside Speedway. Donny Schatz extended his points lead with a runner-up finish and Sheldon Haudenschild completed the podium. It was Pittman’s 81st career World of Outlaws win and second at Lakeside with his prior triumph coming 15 years ago in 2003.
Pittman won the Sears Craftsman Dash to earn the pole for the 30-lap Feature, alongside Logan Schuchart. Pittman held off an early charge from Schuchart to take command of the field.
A fast racing surface allowed Pittman to reach lapped traffic on Lap 8. The Oklahoma veteran negotiated traffic well, before the lone caution flag of the Feature fell on Lap 12 as heartbreak struck second-place running Logan Schuchart. Schuchart smoked down the frontstretch before coming to stop in turn one, ending his evening.
Sheldon Haudenschild assumed second place alongside Pittman with Jason Sides and Donny Schatz in row two of the double-file restart.
Pittman powered away from the field with a strong restart as Haudenschild and Schatz waged war for the second spot with the nine-time and defending Series Champion taking the position for good on Lap 16.
Schatz narrowed Pittman’s lead, but the Kasey Kahne Racing, Ionomy-sponsored No.9 remained proficient through traffic.
The best battle on the race track was between Jason Sides, Brad Sweet and Joey Saldana, aboard the Jason Johnson Racing No.41, as the trio utilized the entire the Lakeside Speedway racing surface battling for the fifth position.
Back up front, Schatz continued to close in on Pittman, but time was running out. With five laps remaining, Pittman maintained good speed on the cushion as Schatz was a car-length lower than him, desperately trying to reel him in.
Pittman stayed strong up top and rode the cushion to victory, a mere .586 seconds ahead of Schatz.
“This place is always been a track I’ve enjoyed coming to. If your car is good, you can get by guys and as a racer that’s all you can ask for,” Pittman said speaking fondly of Lakeside Speedway.
“Hats off to my guys, my car was great. It was a lot of fun, lapped traffic was tight, but I could move around and maintain speed everywhere. Man, these wins are hard to come by. I’ve been doing this a long time and they never get easier,” Pittman said with a smile next to his KKR No.9.
Schatz settled for second and kept things simple after the race, “That’s the way it goes sometimes. We got ourselves up there to compete for the win but didn’t get it. We’ll try again tomorrow.”
In his second career Lakeside appearance, Sheldon Haudenschild landed on the podium for the second consecutive year, finishing third. “The 9 and 15 were good, I like this place, it’s wide and fast. It’s definitely cool to have Ricky [Stenhouse Jr.] here and a couple of the NASCAR boys, we’ll try again tomorrow,” Haudenschild said next to his NOS Energy Drink sponsored Stenhouse Jr-Marshall No.17.
Shane Stewart was strong all night and finished fourth with Joey Saldana finishing fifth in his debut aboard the JJR No.41.
Brad Sweet, Jason Sides, Ian Madsen, Kraig Kinser and Brent Marks completed the all-Outlaw top-ten. Brock Zearfoss, in his Lakeside debut, earned KSE Hard Charger honors coming from the LCS to finish 11th.
The World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series continues its 40th Anniversary Season tomorrow with a return to Dodge City Raceway Park in Dodge City, KS. Williams Grove 410 Sprint Champ Lucas Wolfe; Indoor Series Atlantic City Winner Ryan Flores; 410, 360 Sprint Winner Michael Carber Are Latest To File East Coast Indoor Dirt Nationals Entries
TRENTON, NJ October 17, 2018 . . . Perfect track conditions featuring a multi-groove, dustless, easy-to-pass on surface have enticed Williams Grove Speedway’s 2018 410 Sprint Car champion Lucas Wolfe to file an entry for the East Coast Indoor Dirt Nationals being held at the CURE Insurance Arena in Trenton, NJ for the second year.
The now annual race has been expanded to a third night of racing to accommodate new racers interested in competing. The event featuring the 600cc wingless Micro Sprints will again with racing on Thursday, Friday and Saturday night December 13th – 15th. Racing will start at 7 PM on Thursday and Friday, 5 PM on Saturday.
Wolfe, of Mechanicsburg, PA., won nine Sprint features in 2018, eight 410s and one 360 feature en route to his best season yet as a Sprint Car racer. Wolfe wll have top-of-the-line equipment, being fielded by veteran driver and owner Lou Cicconi, for the race.
Also entering is Indoor Auto Racing Series 2017 champion Ryan Flores of Cornelius, NC. Flores, who works on the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series in the shop and at the track, confines his racing to Indoor TQ events. This year’s Indoor Dirt Nationals will be Flores’ first time racing on dirt, indoors or outdoors.
Michael Carber of Pipersville, Pa., like Flores a NASCAR crewman, was one of the entrants in the inaugural Indoor Dirt Nationals and has filed his entry for the second annual race. Carber’s resume includes wins in 410 and 360 Sprint cars.
With more than 100 entries filed, Wolfe, Flores and Carber, despite their impressive credentials will have their work cut for them.
“The great dark clay racing surface and awesome three wide groove action at the inaugural event caught the attention of racers from different forms of racing that want to be involved,” said event promoter Len Sammons.
Entries will be split into two preliminary night programs on Thursday and Friday evening. The first two nights of action will set the line-ups for Saturday’s main event program where all entered racers will compete.
“The split preliminary night schedule will allow us the pit space to expand the entry list to 120 cars with 60 competing each night,” Sammons elaborated.
The trio of recent entries join Erick Rudolph, of Ransomville, NY, a multi-time TQ indoor winner who currently among the leaders in points on the Super DIRTcar big-block Modified series. Another dirt Modified driver, Dom Buffalino has landed a ride to join the action.
The Thursday and Friday events will now feature heat races and four A-Qualifier main events. The top two finishers in each feature will go directly into Saturday, December 15ths main event.
Points earned throughout each night programs will be used to lineup alphabet mains for Saturday night’s main event program for all other racers. At the event last year, Wyoming, Delaware’s Luke Thomas rebounded from a problem on his qualifying night to advance from the D-Main to finishing seventh in the A-Main.
An invitational event will also be held on each of the two preliminary nights. The top 20 drivers in the 2017 Indoor Auto Racing Series Slingshot and Champ Kart point standings who accept an invitation to compete will run a heat races and a feature event. The Slingshots will be part of Thursday’s program, the Champ Karts on Friday.
Tickets for the event are on sale through a link at www.indoorautoracing.com or by stopping by the CURE Insurance Arena in Trenton.
All tickets for the additional Thursday event will be offered as general admission open seating for just $15. Those who have already purchased a Friday night grandstand ticket, or do so by September 21, will receive a general admission ticket for Thursday as an added bonus at a later date in the same method the other tickets arrived. After September 21, all three nights will be sold as a separate ticket.
A range of different price tickets are available for Friday and Saturday action including lower and upper level reserve seats. General admission upper-level seating where children are admitted for just $5 is available as a less costly alternative, but without the guarantee of specific seats.
Saturday’s front row or suite tickets will also include a special pit area tour prior to the start of racing action.

DEMO DERBY AND 6 AUTO RACES HEADLINE WALL STADIUM’S SPOOKY SPECTACULAR ON OCT. 20
WALL TOWNSHIP, N.J. ~ An impressive field of All American Auto Group Racing Series stock cars can be expected at Wall Stadium Speedway on October 20 when six feature races an a Demolition Derby headline the annual Spooky Spectacular stock car race. On October 20, pit area gates will open at 10:00 a.m., practice starts at 11:00 a.m., grandstand seating opens at 1:00 p.m. and qualifying starts at 1:45 p.m. with main events to follow at around 3:00 p.m.
The Center State Engineering Sportsman cars, with newly crowned champion Kevin Davison of Howell and top runners Kyle Scisco and Jarret DiGiantomasso, both of Jackson, expected to be in competition, will compete in a 25-lap feature race.
The O'Shea's Auto Repair Factory Stocks are set to two 25-lap main events with 2018 champion Mike Montano of Freeport, N.Y., regular season finale winner Elliot Wohl of Beachwood and multi-time champion Scott Riggleman of Manchester expected to lead the way. The Surfside Collision 4 Cylinder Stocks will also see double-duty in twin races with expected entries to include 2018 driving champion Brian Osborn of Howell, Darianne McLaren of Edison and Hazlet's Chris Silvestri.
In the Mike's Performance Center Limited Late Model 25-lap race newly crowned champion Shanon Mongeau of Jackson is expected to attempt to keep his 2018 undefeated streak going with likely competition coming from Brick's Joe Mongeau and Harry Schaeffer of Carteret.
With the season-long title chase completed drivers in all divisions can forget about earning points and race strictly for the prize money offered.
Fans can expect competitors from the tri-state area to compete in the championship Demolition Derby.
Also featured during the festivities will be free pumpkins for fans while supplies last and a “Haunted Carnival” in the grandstand midway area. Included in the grandstand admission price young fans will have the opportunity to play a variety of carnival games as much as they like in order to collect tickets to win prizes such as stuffed animals, candy, toys and more. Fans are also welcome to wear their Halloween costumes to the track to add to the fun.
Once the October 20 event is in the books all attention will turn toward the 45th running of the “Turkey Derby” on Friday, Saturday and Sunday of Thanksgiving weekend during the daylight hours.

An All-Star Will Be Made In 6th Annual All Star Cup Shootout At New Egypt Speedway This Saturday October 20th
New Egypt, NJ – This Saturday’s 6th Annual All Star Cup Shootout at the New Egypt Speedway is shaping up to be one of its best yet.
It’ll be a barnburner for the Mighty Modifieds as the Small Block Modifieds take on the Big Block Modifieds once again in a 60-Lap shootout that pays $6,000 to win and $400 just to start the main event.

Christopher Bells Dominates Eldora Speedway for Fourth Career Outlaw Win
ROSSBURG, OH – October 14, 2018 – Christopher Bell pounded the cushion to perfection up against the Eldora Speedway wall to win his fourth career World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series Feature, but first of 2018, Sunday evening at the Ohio half-mile. Bell fell as far back as eighth but took the lead on Lap 14 and never looked back. Donny Schatz extended his Series points lead finishing second for a Tony Stewart Racing/Curb-Agajanian Racing one-two punch. Parker Price-Miller, who led the first 13 laps, completed the podium.
Tim Shaffer won the Sears Craftsman Dash and led the field down the backstretch, but a strong sweeping move across the racing surface from Parker Price-Miller saw the youngster lead the opening lap by a nose.
Carson Macedo, aboard the Jason Johnson Racing No.41, took second from Shaffer on Lap 9 and began closing in on Price-Miller for the lead.
Christopher Bell fell back from his fifth-starting spot on the initial start, but began his cushion-pounding charge forward immediately. As Macedo passed Shaffer for second on the ninth circuit, Bell re-entered the top five. Two laps later, Bell was third and visibly closing on the leaders. Bell passed Macedo for second on Lap 13 and took the lead the following lap from Price-Miller in turn one.
From there, Bell set sail, rim riding his way to a sizable advantage through lapped traffic.
Donny Schatz worked his way forward from his eighth starting spot to take third just past the halfway point.
The lone caution of the event flew on Lap 21 for a slowing Aaron Reutzel, setting up a double-file restart.
Price-Miller, who had fallen back to fourth, got an excellent restart and challenged Bell for the lead before settling into second. Bell once again powered away from the field, establishing a sizeable lead over the field.
Schatz went to work on Price-Miller for second, completing the pass with one to go. At this point, his TSR teammate was gone, as Bell cruised to win by over four seconds.
“I’m very grateful to run this thing, it’s a rocket every time I come to this place. It was so fast on the top, I could zoom right around,” Bell said in Victory Lane.
When asked about riding the wall at Eldora with a near-perfect race car, Bell didn’t hold back saying, “It’s the most fun thing you’ll ever do.”
“It’s a dream come true to be able to win World of Outlaws races at Eldora,” Bell, who was making his fifth Outlaw start of the season, added with a smile.
Donny Schatz settled for second for the second consecutive night and was pleased with his car, “My car was really good. These guys keep working on it and making some gains, it was great to have some grip out there.”
Parker Price-Miller, in one of three Indy Race Parts entries, held off Macedo to complete the podium, “We were really good, when you are out front, you don’t know how strong you really are, and Christopher blew my doors off. He was the class of the field. I can’t thank Bernie and Betsy enough for giving me this opportunity.”
Macedo, who will return to the JJR No.41 at Port Royal in two weeks, finished fourth with Ian Madsen completing the top five.
Brent Marks came forward from 12th to sixth with Joey Saldana, in another Indy Race Parts car, was strong finishing seventh.
Sheldon Haudenschild charged from 18th to eighth and Logan Schuchart earned KSE Hard Charger honors coming from 20th to ninth. Pennsylvanian Brock Zearfoss, who will finish out the season following the Outlaw tour, completed the top-ten.
A night after breaking a 19-year-old track record at Terre Haute, teenager Gio Scelzi was within striking distance of the 16-year-old Eldora track record in Qualifying, missing it by seven hundredths of a second.
It was an early start at Eldora, which was coming off a double-header World 100 program the night before, with the Outlaw Feature ending before 7:30 on a brisk October evening.
A rare off-weekend for the NASCAR Xfinity Series allowed Bell to compete back in his dirt track roots. Bell currently leads Xfinity points and recently set the single-season win record for a rookie with six. Bell finished 11th last night at Terre Haute.

THE 'NEW ENGLAND NIGHTMARE' KYLE SMITH BESTS THE MID-ATLANTIC SPRINT SERIES FIELD AT GRANDVIEW SPEEDWAY THUNDER ON THE HILL THRILLER

PA Sprint Series regular Kyle Smith traveled four hours south to Bechtelsville, PA from his hometown of South Egremont, MA to win the twenty-five lap Delaware Auto Exchange Mid-Atlantic Sprint Series feature event at Grandview Speedway Inc. Saturday night.
Smith, who won at Grandview Speedway once before last season when visiting the Mid-Atlantic Sprint Series, has now a total of seven victories to his name in 2018, making it a back to back weekend of winning after visiting victory lane last Friday night at Williams Grove Speedway for the first night of the Keystone RaceSaver Challenge weekend in Central Pennsylvania.
From his fourth starting position, Smith grabbed the top spot from early leader Jeff Geiges by lap 10, and after surviving multiple restarts with Geiges grabbing the lead back with two to go, Smith quickly regained his position and would go on to win the Thunder On The Hill Racing Series hosted event.
Three heat race wins, sponsored by Professional Design Services, Freiberger Excavating and Bruce's Auto Body, went to Jeff Geiges, Larry Mc Vay and Michael Haggenbottom. Heat winners were also awarded five gallons of fuel courtesy of Kelly Racing Fuels - the official fuel sponsor of the Mid-Atlantic Sprint Series.
Twelve drivers were qualified in to the CRC Industries Brakleen redraw, with Dave Brown and Jeff Geiges pulling the pole positions, earning them the Engler Machine and Tool Front Row Award.
Scott R Frack made his come back to MASS after taking a few weeks off rebuilding an engine earned the Fred's Trailers hard charger award after advancing eleven positions from his 17th starting spot.
Ryan Stillwaggon took home the the Bitner Automotive Lightening Fast Time Award after having a 13.041 second lap time in heat number one.
Next up on the schedule is the finale at Georgetown Speedway on Saturday, October 27th - day two of the Mid-Atlantic Championship Weekend.
