410 SPRINTS & MODIFIEDS RETURN TO NEW EGYPT SPEEDWAY FOR THE JERSEY RUSH VI TUESDAY NIGHT, AUGUST 23

An ultimate tradition will continue. Tuesday night, August 23rd the NAPA Auto Parts Jersey Rush VI presented by Pioneer Pole Buildings will rock the house at the New Egypt Speedway with an action packed Ultimate Double-header of 410 Sprints and Modifieds. It all started back in 2011 when JJ Grasso in a 410 sprint car and legendary Billy Pauch in a modified took the victories in the inaugural Jersey Rush I. A huge crowd turnout and accolades from the drivers on this event began what is expected to be a long running tradition. NAPA Auto Parts and Pioneer Pole Buildings are proud sponsors of this big event that will also carry a rain date of Wednesday night, August 24th.

Competitors and race fans will receive a royal treatment on Tuesday night, August 23. First, for the race fans, a pre-race Meet & Greet will take place from 5 PM to 6 PM, welcoming all race fans to visit the pit area to get an up close look at the stars and cars, just prior to the start of the Jersey Rush VI. The grandstands will open at 5 PM and spectators are asked to proceed behind the fourth turn stands to enter the pit area.

For the drivers, a lucrative payoff awaits the starting field of both division. In the 30 lap 410 sprint feature, $5,000 will go to the winner with $1,000 going to the tenth place finisher and an attractive $400 just to start the main event. For the modifieds, $3,000 will go to the winner of the 30 lap feature with $1,000 for fifth and $200 to start.

On Tuesday night, August 23 the pit gates will open at 3:30 PM with the grandstands opening at 5 PM. A drivers meeting is set for 6:15, warm-ups at 7 and sprint car time trials will get underway at 7:30 PM.

For the 410 sprints, they will complete in a series of 10 lap heats, a 12 lap B-Main and the 30 lap feature. Six cars will qualify in the heats with the top two finishers going to the re-draw and the top three fastest cars from time trials (not in the top 2 in the heat) will re-draw. The 410 sprints will follow the Speed Week Sprint wing, weight and tire rules. Approved Hoosier H Series Tires only. The URC wing rule will be in effect for the 360 and 358 sprints only. A $300 bonus will go to the highest finishing 360 sprint car. $100 tow money will go to all pre-entered non-qualifiers.

Modified drivers will draw for their heat race groups and take part in timed warm-up with an invert of four going to the heats. Six cars will qualify from the heats and the top four in the heats will re-draw for the top twelve spots. Modifieds must use American Racer Tires LR 44, RR 48 and open front. The weight rule for the big blocks is 2500 lbs, open small blocks (with windows) 2,450 lbs and a spec small block (PA or DIRT) on alcohol 2,350 and gas 2,275. Big Blocks will race with windows challenging Small Blocks with sail panels. There is no entry free but drivers are asked to pre-enter by calling 443 513 4456 and receive one pit pass for the driver. Pre-entry deadline is August 19.

Adult admission for the Jersey Rush VI is $30, children 6-11 $10 and children under the age of five will be admitted free. The pit fee is $35 and a license is not required. In the event of rain, Wednesday night, August 24 will be the rain date and carry a 7:30 PM starting time. The Jersey Rush VI is a co-promotion between Lenny, Danny and Davey Sammons and special events organizer Bob Miller.

The history of the Jersey Rush. Previous sprint car Jersey Rush feature winners include JJ Grasso (2011), Daryn Pitman (2012), JJ Grasso (2013), Ryan Smith (2014) and defending winner Greg Hodnett in 2015. For the modifieds, Billy Pauch is a three time winner, taking victories in 2011, 2013 and 2014. Jimmy Horton was the winner in 2012 and Duane Howard is the defending modified winner.
