Allentown, PA: The Gasoline Alley Group Once Again Joins The RFRHS To Support The Upcoming Reading Nostalgia Nationals

The Gasoline Alley Group and the Reading Fairgrounds Racing Historical Society will once again join forces to offer a special awards package for the events that will take place at the 13th Annual Reading Fairgrounds Nostalgia Nationals events scheduled to begin on Sunday, August 6th. The Gasoline Alley Group is honored to once again play a small role in the success of the annual event. The Gasoline Alley TV/Internet Show was the premier racing show on the airwaves until November 2011 when the Pados Brothers opted to step away from the show that began in 2002. They hosted 546 shows in their tenure on the airwaves through the WALN and Service Electric Networks and two radio networks prior to that. The successful show and through the many additional events in which the Pados Brothers presided over have seen them interviewing more than nine thousand personalities in racing across the country and Australia, New Zealand and Canada. During their final season in 2011, the Pados Brothers were on the New Reading Fairgrounds speedway with their show and conducted 35 interviews with both the Junior and All Star Slingshot drivers taking part in the show that was aired later for TV. The support mechanism of Gasoline Alley to assist in various events along the way still remains a strong focal point for the Pados Brothers who have spent more than sixty years in racing.

The Gasoline Alley Group through the solid efforts of Ed Pados, has put together a solid community network of friends and sponsors who will lend their assistance to this annual event. Huston's Automotive/Danny Huston, Mammana's Automotive/Pat & Mike Mammana, Martocci Automotive/Tommy Martocci, Tony's Auto Repair/Mark Santiso, Bok Engine Service/Randy Bok, Murante Auto Repair/Lou Murante, R&T International Muffler, Ralph's Radiator/Ralph Stampone, Persa's Auto Repair/Dave Persa, S&S Speedways and Hamlin Speedway/Randy and Denise Smith, Carl's Auto Repair/Carl Menhenna, Jeff's Auto Repair/Jeff Strausser, Thunder on the Hill Racing Series/Bob and Donna Miller, Accord Speedway/Gary and Donna Palmer, Smith Fabrications and Stage One Modifieds/Richie and Joel Smith, Gardner's Auto Service/Gary Gardner, ARM Automotive, Dean's Auto Sport/Dean Curtis and GA Motorsports Media will all lend their support to the RFRHS for this great annual event. In touching base with Ed Pados in regards to the upcoming event, he remarked, "My brother Steve and I have always enjoyed a great relationship with the RFRHS group and we have always been fortunate to be able to pull together some solid support for the event from our good friends in racing and it is our sincere hope we will be able to do so in the future. Many of the Slingshot driving stars of today and many who have moved on to other divisions in racing have interviewed on the show in the past and we are extremely proud of our accomplishments with being able to match up and coming Slingshot drivers with some of the top Modified and Open Wheel drivers in the country to produce a show that was always full of great interviews and tons of fun to host." Pados later added, "Many of the Slingshot stars of today gave their first ever interview on our show and my brother Steve has always done an amazing job in teaching and coaching them the correct aspects of the interview process and all of them have thanked us many times for assisting them in their racing careers". Ed and Steve Pados have been honored with lifetime memberships to the RFRHS and it is through that wonderful kinship will continue to assist their dear friends at the RFRHS.

The racing at the Fairgrounds will open up on Sunday, August 6th with Go-Karts, Lawn Mowers and 1/4 Midgets. Monday, August 7th will bring both the All Star Slingshots, Junior Slingshots and Wingless 270 Sprints to the speedway grounds and will have the gates opening at 4 PM and the racing beginning at 6 PM. The Tuesday evening event on August 8th will find the All Star Slingshots and Junior Slingshots on the race card. Friday evening, August 11th th will find Four Cylinder racing taking place with a special exhibition for Vintage Race Cars.

The Reading Fairgrounds Racing Historical Society was founded with the sole purpose of keeping the memories of the great racing that took place at the famed Reading Fairgrounds alive through the many events in which they are involved with each year in the tri-state area. The Gasoline Alley Group has been extremely honored to play a part in the celebration of the great racing that took place at the great Reading Speedway and to the many fond memories regarding the former raceway and it's many great competitors.

The legends Night at Reading is scheduled from 4 to 10 to meet the drivers and owners of the RFRHS. The 2017 Home of Champions induction ceremony will be held at the Reading Fair on Wednesday evening, August 9th at 7 PM. The 2017 inductees include former driver Tommy McAndrew who excelled in both the Modifieds and Midget race cars and longtime car owner Marlo Adam and George Hudick. The fairgrounds facilities are located at 1216 Hilltop Road, Leesport, PA. The popular race society will be taking on new memberships throughout the run of the fair dates.
