THE 'NEW ENGLAND NIGHTMARE' KYLE SMITH BESTS THE MID-ATLANTIC SPRINT SERIES FIELD AT GRANDVIEW SPEEDWAY THUNDER ON THE HILL THRILLER

PA Sprint Series regular Kyle Smith traveled four hours south to Bechtelsville, PA from his hometown of South Egremont, MA to win the twenty-five lap Delaware Auto Exchange Mid-Atlantic Sprint Series feature event at Grandview Speedway Inc. Saturday night.

Smith, who won at Grandview Speedway once before last season when visiting the Mid-Atlantic Sprint Series, has now a total of seven victories to his name in 2018, making it a back to back weekend of winning after visiting victory lane last Friday night at Williams Grove Speedway for the first night of the Keystone RaceSaver Challenge weekend in Central Pennsylvania.

From his fourth starting position, Smith grabbed the top spot from early leader Jeff Geiges by lap 10, and after surviving multiple restarts with Geiges grabbing the lead back with two to go, Smith quickly regained his position and would go on to win the Thunder On The Hill Racing Series hosted event.

Three heat race wins, sponsored by Professional Design Services, Freiberger Excavating and Bruce's Auto Body, went to Jeff Geiges, Larry Mc Vay and Michael Haggenbottom. Heat winners were also awarded five gallons of fuel courtesy of Kelly Racing Fuels - the official fuel sponsor of the Mid-Atlantic Sprint Series.

Twelve drivers were qualified in to the CRC Industries Brakleen redraw, with Dave Brown and Jeff Geiges pulling the pole positions, earning them the Engler Machine and Tool Front Row Award.

Scott R Frack made his come back to MASS after taking a few weeks off rebuilding an engine earned the Fred's Trailers hard charger award after advancing eleven positions from his 17th starting spot.

Ryan Stillwaggon took home the the Bitner Automotive Lightening Fast Time Award after having a 13.041 second lap time in heat number one.

Next up on the schedule is the finale at Georgetown Speedway on Saturday, October 27th - day two of the Mid-Atlantic Championship Weekend.
