Hamlin, PA- Hamlin Speedway Shines Brightly With Great Show

The premier racing facility in the Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania, the Hamlin Speedway, once again showed it's own spit and polish last evening with an exciting show that covered all of the hard work and dedication the Smith Family has placed into the facility. The tremendous racing season thus far in 2019 and the loyal fan base and talented roster of driving stars who converge at the speedway are appreciative of all of the hard work and determination that goes into preparing an exciting and fun-filled evening of racing. The racing action at the 1/5th mile clay-cushioned facility has been over the top with many outstanding driving personalities carving out their own claim to fame in weekly competition for age groups from 8 to 60 plus.

The 2019 season is just six weeks old and many special events have been already been completed through the heart of the racing schedule. Heading up the headlines for last evening’s show include Kasey Hufcut, who won the Junior Slingshot event, Shelby McLaughlin, who captured her first All Star Slingshot win in that portion of the evening. Dale Kober who captured the Super Slingshot event. "The Whiz Kid" Jack Hanna who won the JPA Masonry Rookie Wingless event and "The Electric Man" Colin White who won over a healthy field in the JPA Masonry Regular 600 Sprint main even. Amanda Buchel captured the postponed Hampton RV & Trailer Sales event and her brother Adam Buchel came back to win the regular feature in the division.

Colin White grabbed the lead at the start of the JPA Masonry event and hustled out to a huge lead over Dylan Martin and Hunter Metzger. The action that took place behind the pair was stunning to say the least. Every turn and straightaway action was filled with excitement as the track was extremely racy as the drivers took their shots at each other for position. White would claim the win with Billy Koch giving chase in second place. "Bad" Chad Sandt would hustle in from ninth starting position to grab up a third place finish on this night. Dylan Martin would make a return to the speedway and came out fourth while Joey Amantea would close out the top five finishers. Joel Smith headed up the second five with Zach Weisenfluh, Mack Brink, Joseph Smith, Cody Smith, Tony Parlanti and Mick D’Agostino folliwng the leaders.

In the Super Slinger action, Dale Kober ran away and hid to go on and claim a win at the speedway. Paul Ennes would finish in the runner-up role. Wally Bell would finish third while Jim Conroy was fourth and David Guest would claim fifth place honors and Mark Exeter would finish up in sixth place.

He finally caught Leggio on lap eight and cruised into victory. Jake Eby held on for second place while Tony Parlanti was third, Carmen “POPS” Leggio Sr and the returning Dennis Stawinsky rounded out the top five. Early leader Jacob Nemeth faeded to sixth place with an ill-handling race car while Michael Nolf, Brandon Nicholas, the returning Kyle Exley and newcomer Derke Angle rounded out the tio ten places. Kyle Ferrucci, and Jacob Newhard flipped on the backsteretch in the same incident with Ferrucci coming out of the mess okay but Newhard being attended to by members of the Hamlin Emergency Team and the Hamlin Emergency Squad. Newhard was taken to the hospital to chack out his condition

Chase Zimmer came from the back of the pack for sixth place while Ashton Dewitt, Doug Smith, Aiden Elliot, and Kylie Hendricks filled out the roster. In the All Star Slingshot encounter, Joey Kalafut blasted into the lead at the start of the event and held off all of the competition for seventeen laps until Shelby McLaughlin pressured him to take oever the lead. That was the only move McLaughlin would need to secure the win. Taylor Mills, hustled into runner-up honors with Kalafut back in third place.Paul Ennes continued his steady work for fourth place and Brian Smith, who started from tenth place, would settle in for fifth place. Dale Kober headed up the second five with Scott Neary, James Benz, Austin Silfee, Mikey Johannes and Andrew Turpin rounding out the top ten.
