Haudenschild Wins Inaugural FVP Platinum Battery Showdown at Fairbury

FAIRBURY, IL – June 5, 2018 – Sheldon Haudenschild took the lead on a Lap 3 restart and never looked back, scoring his fourth World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series victory of the season in the Series inaugural visit to Fairbury American Legion Speedway in the FVP Platinum Battery Showdown. Jacob Allen matched his career-best with a runner-up finish with Kyle Larson completing the podium.

The night didn’t start off as planned for Haudenschild, as Sheldon was just 21st quick in Qualifying and started seventh in his Heat. Haudenschild, in true Haudenschild fashion, charged from seventh to second in his Heat to secure a spot in the Sears Craftsman Dash.

Sheldon Haudenschild went on to win the Dash, earning the pole for the 40-lap Feature but it was fellow front row starter Hunter Schuerenburg getting the jump at the drop of the Green. Schuerenburg, in search of his first career Outlaw triumph, paced the field, pounding the cushion before a caution on Lap 3 for a backwards Shane Stewart halted action.

Schuerenburg elected the top on the double-file restart, but his No.20 machine stumbled on the restart as Haudenschild, who restarted alongside him, powered to the lead. Schuerenburg drastically fell to the back of the field with a flat tire. Things went from bad to worse as Tanner Thorson jumped Schuerenburg’s rear tire and went for a tumble. Thorson was uninjured in the accident and the Red Flag allowed Schuerenburg to change his tire and restart at the rear of the field.

When action resumed, Haudenschild motored away from the field and reached lapped traffic quickly around the bullring. Jacob Allen, who shattered the FALS track record in Qualifying, moved into second with his Shark Racing teammate, Logan Schuchart in tow running third. Haudenschild put on a lapped traffic clinic, slicing and dicing his way through the field.

A hellacious battle between Kyle Larson and Brent Marks for fifth was momentarily halted when a lapped car got loose and forced both Larson and Marks to take evasive action with 17 laps remaining. The duo did synchronized 360’s, but kept going, in turn two, forcing the rest of the field to check up. Greg Wilson had nowhere to go and got upside down. Gio Scelzi and Paul Nienhiser’s top-ten runs also came to an end in the accident. Wilson was uninjured but done for the evening while both Scelzi and Nienhiser tagged the rear.

With rubber prominent on the high line, World of Outlaws officials ruled single-file restarts for the remainder of the evening. Haudenschild continued to show the way as he reached traffic with the rest of the field directly on his tail.

With eight laps remaining, Schuchart pulled a slider on his teammate Allen to secure second and set his sights on Haudenschild. Haudenschild remained locked down in the rubber as Schuchart looked for a way to steal the lead. Schuchart peeked a car-length higher than Haudenschild in turn two with three laps remaining, but that was the end of Schuchart’s night as a flat tire on the No.1S brought out the final caution of the evening.

Haudenschild distanced himself from Allen, who was in search of his first career Outlaw win, on the late restart while Larson and Cory Eliason waged war for third. The pair of Californian’s exchanged sliders back and forth with Larson grabbing the final podium spot.

Sheldon Haudenschild went on to win his fourth Feature of the year aboard the NOS Energy Drink sponsored Stenhouse Jr.-Marshall No.17.

“My car was really good early and really good in the rubber,” Haudenschild said with a smile in Victory Lane. “I was able to get good drive on the early restart, grab the lead and get to the top. Other than a couple of times where I tagged the wall, I felt really good and felt like I was making good laps in traffic,” the Wooster, OH native added.

Allen’s second-place finish tied a career-best and was his first top-ten finish of 2018. “My team has worked really hard. Sheldon’s been one of my best friends for a long time, obviously I would have liked to get my first Outlaw win, but I’m extremely happy with second,” Allen said. When asked about racing with his teammate and relative Schuchart, Allen explained, “We’ll race each other hard, but clean. We both want to win, it’s unfortunate he got a flat tire ending his night. It’s always fun running up front with Logan.”

Kyle Larson, who slipped out of the top ten early, was pleased to get back to the podium. “I was pretty good as the race went on. I’m really loose until the fuel burns off, I was happy to get back to third after our start,” Larson said. Cory Eliason settled for fourth with Saturday’s winner in Wisconsin Brent Marks coming from 14th to fifth. The finish was Marks’ third consecutive top-five finish. KSE Hard Charger honors went to David Gravel and CJB Motorsports, as they came from 22nd to complete the top ten.

Brent Marks Dominates at Wilmot for First Career Outlaw Victory

WILMOT, WI – June 3, 2018 – Brent Marks passed Daryn Pittman on Lap 13 and went on to annihilate the field for his first career World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series victory at Wilmot Raceway. Marks nursed a flat right front tire the final lap and still took the checkered 4.514 seconds ahead of second-place Pittman with Brad Sweet completing the podium.

Daryn Pittman won the Sears Craftsman Dash, earning the pole for the 40-lap Feature alongside Kevin Gobrecht Rookie of the Year contender Ian Madsen. A brief, but heavy, rain shower drenched Wilmot Raceway during the Last Chance Showdown and caused for nearly a two-hour delay before the Feature.

The first lap of the Feature got off to a bumpy start for veterans Kraig Kinser and Joey Saldana, as they both ended upside down in turn one. Both drivers were uninjured in the accident, but neither returned to competition. Kinser, who set Quick Time over the field for the first time this season, started third and his opening lap accident moved Brent Marks from inside the third row, to outside the second row.

Pittman controlled the field on the second attempt and Marks quickly established himself as a threat, maneuvering his way to second at the conclusion of the first lap. The final caution of the evening flew on Lap 5 when Gio Scelzi and Ian Madsen got together battling for fourth on the backstretch, with the latter getting the worst of it, ending his night.

Pittman continued to show the way as he quickly reached the back of the field almost instantaneously at the Wilmot bullring. Pittman cleared the first handful of lapped cars while Marks stayed right with him, waiting to pounce.

On Lap 13, Pittman remained bottled up in heavy traffic and Marks was able to sneak underneath to lead the first Outlaw laps of his career.

From there, it was pure domination.

Marks quickly distanced himself from Pittman and began lapping cars at a torrid pace. With 10 laps remaining, Marks’ lead was half a track over Pittman. Marks hopped the cushion in turn two with seven laps remaining, allowing the lapped car of Jason Johnson to get back by the leader momentarily. Marks would fight his way back by Johnson and go on to win his first career World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series Feature by more than four and a half seconds.

When Marks car arrived in Victory Lane, the right front tire was punctured and flat, presumably from when he hopped the cushion. Nonetheless, Brent Marks had finally made it to the place he dreamed of as a kid.

“This is a dream come true,” a relieved Brent Marks said upon exiting his family-owned No.19 in World of Outlaws Victory Lane for the first time. “It was nice to finally have a night with no troubles lingering throughout the night, but I never expected this. This is awesome. I’ve been trying so long to get my first Outlaw win, this is unreal,” an elated Marks added.

When asked about the closing laps, Marks referenced the flat tire, “I could barely turn the car. I was just hanging on, it was a handful.”

Quite possibly the most remarkable thing about the Brent Marks Racing No.19 team is the fact that the team has one crew member. Jesse Lentz and Marks, who prior to last season had never raced further west than Knoxville, travel from race-to-race competing against teams not only with multiple crew members, but crews and drivers with decades of World of Outlaws experience in their back pocket.

“It’s been tough, Jesse and I have been really exhausted, especially with all the problems we’ve had the past few weeks. I can’t wait to get back to the hotel and sleep until noon,” Marks said with a huge smile.

Kasey Kahne Racing teammates Daryn Pittman and Brad Sweet both echoed their happiness to see a fellow World of Outlaws regular get his first career victory. “I made too many mistakes and allowed Brent to get by. But truthfully, I don’t think it mattered, because once he got by me, he was in his own zip code. You hate to lose races and give up the lead, but honestly, I’m happy for him. I know what it’s like and what it feels like to get that first win. It was a solid weekend for us, we’ll come back Tuesday and try to get a win,” Pittman said in good spirits.

“Brent did a great job. I’m happy for him, it is always fun to get your first win. We’ll take a podium and look for a win on Tuesday at Fairbury,” Sweet said.

David Gravel’s winning streak at Wilmot came to an end as he finished fourth, with Gio Scelzi scoring a career-best fifth aboard the Indy Race Parts No.71. Shane Stewart, 11th-starting Sheldon Haudenschild and Donny Schatz were the only other cars on the lead lap as Marks lapped up to eighth place. After making the Feature as an alternate because of Justin Peck scratching, Matt Vandervere earned KSE Hard Charger Honors coming from 24th to 12th.

The World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series continues its 40th Anniversary Season at Fairbury American Legion Speedway in Fairbury, Illinois on Tuesday with the FVP Platinum Battery Showdown before heading to Jackson, Minnesota for the $40,000 to win AGCO Jackson Nationals at Jackson Motorplex. David Gravel Scores Third Win of the Year During Eventful Feature at I-96

LAKE ODESSA, MI – June 1, 2018 – David Gravel powered from third on a restart to lead Lap 16 and went on to win the Rumble in Michigan at I-96 Speedway. Shane Stewart continued his streak of top-five finishes with a second place run and Brad Sweet, who stole the lead from Gravel only for it to be negated by a yellow, settled for third at the conclusion of the caution-filled Feature.

Sheldon Haudenschild won the Sears Craftsman Dash and earned the pole for the 35-lap Feature alongside 1995 I-95 Outlaw winner Joey Saldana. Haudenschild paced the field early as Gravel quickly maneuvered into second around Saldana.

While Daryn Pittman and Saldana battled for third, Donny Schatz got a run off the bottom of turn four and surged by both of them to take the position. After an Open Red on Lap 14, Schatz pounced on Gravel and stole the runner-up position before a caution for Gio Scelzi, who was running in the top ten, halted competition one lap later.

Haudenschild led the field back to Green once again, but this time with the nine-time Series Champion next to him and David Gravel inside the second row. Gravel entered turn one on the cushion and powered around Schatz before squeezing under Haudenschild to steal the lead going into turn three with a breathtaking move.

Schatz slowed on the frontstretch the following lap with a flat tire and Jason Johnson clipped his left rear trying to avoid the Fargo, ND native and ended up getting upside down. Johnson was uninjured but done for the evening. Schatz was able to change his flat tire and return to the rear of the field.

Gravel commanded the lead through a pair of restarts, before an off the pace Sheldon Haudenschild brought out the caution with six circuits remaining. Haudenschild, who slowed significantly, never stopped but was the cause of the caution and was sent to the rear accordingly.

On the double-file restart, Brad Sweet got a massive run off the cushion and diamonded underneath Gravel to lead into three, only to see the caution for a backwards Cory Eliason negate the pass.

Gravel controlled the ensuing restart and one more with two laps remaining to win his third World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series Feature of the year and second in a row at I-96 Speedway.

“I got a little lucky with the yellow coming out after Brad got me. It was tough to know what to do on the restarts and Brad got a good run and I tried to protect position, but that only hurt my exit and he got by me,” Gravel said in reference to the negated pass for the lead.

“All those late restarts, you never know what’s going to happen. I just wanted to see the checkered. I’m just happy to get another win, this team deserves it. It’s our third win of the year, heading to a track (Wilmot) we love tomorrow,” Gravel added in Victory Lane in front of his CJB Motorsports No.5.

Shane Stewart scored his third consecutive top-five finish and while he remains in search of his first victory of the year, Stewart and the Kyle Larson Racing No.2 team are confident. “Another great finish for these ENEOS guys, we have really turned our team around these past few races,” Stewart, who stole second from Sweet on the last restart, said.

Sweet, who was in search of his second consecutive win, was in good spirits. “That’s racing, sometimes the cautions fall your way, sometimes they don’t,” Sweet said in reference to the ill-timed caution. “I should’ve got second, but I took one last shot at the win and gave up second to Shane. You never know if you don’t try,” Sweet added with a smile.

Donny Schatz, in true championship form, came back from a flat tire at the halfway point to finish fourth. Brent Marks, who battled fuel issues all evening, rebounded in a big way coming from 22nd to complete the top five in his first visit to I-96. Marks’ effort earned him KSE Hard Charger Honors for the fifth time during the 2018 season.

The World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series treks to Wisconsin overnight to compete at the Wilmot Raceway Saturday evening for the Badger 40 before the Series tries again to make its inaugural visit at Fairbury American Legion Speedway with the FVP Platinum Battery Showdown on Tuesday, June 5. If you can’t make it to the track, catch every lap LIVE on DIRTVision.com!

Brad Sweet Wins Memorial Day Thriller at Lawrenceburg

LAWRENCEBURG, IN – May 28, 2018 – Brad Sweet came from eighth and passed Donny Schatz on Lap 26 to take the lead in a thriller at Lawrenceburg Speedway and never looked back for his second win of the 2018 season. Schatz, who led 15 laps, settled for second with David Gravel completing the podium in the Memorial Day Spectacular presented by KOI Auto Parts.

Paul McMahan won the Sears Craftsman Dash to earn the pole of the 35 lap Feature alongside Jason Johnson as both veterans looked for their first Outlaw wins of the year. McMahan led the opening circuit and continued to lead through a pair of cautions in the first handful of laps.

The tricky Lawrenceburg cushion got the better of Sheldon Haudenschild after the young Wooster, OH native pulled a massive slider for fourth on Lap 3.

When action resume, McMahan led as Schatz and Kyle Larson stalked closely behind. Brad Sweet established himself as a threat early moving by his good friend and fellow California native Larson for third on Lap 5.

As lapped traffic intensified, Paul McMahan bobbled out of turn two on the ninth circuit and Schatz and Sweet both pounced, shuffling the Nashville, TN driver back to third. Larson and McMahan waged war for the third position as Sweet began chasing down Schatz.

As is typical at The Burg, slide jobs were plentiful as The Greatest Show on Dirt lived up to its name in the fullest on Memorial Day. Schatz was masterful in traffic as always, but Sweet was just as good as the duo sliced and diced their way through slower traffic. Simultaneously, McMahan and Larson exchanged multiple slide jobs for the third position, with Larson finally wrestling the position away on Lap 21.

After clearing a handful of lapped cars, the top three were nose-to-tail with 10 laps remaining. Sweet gained on Schatz on an open track and made multiple bids for the lead, before completing the pass on the nine-time Series Champion in turn two to lead Lap 26.

A lap later Larson battled hard with Schatz for the runner-up position and had it as they crossed the line. Larson and Schatz continued to battle, but the Lawrenceburg cushion got the better of the California phenom as Larson spun in turn four, leaving fourth-place running McMahan nowhere to go as the caution waved with seven circuits remaining.

On the restart, Sweet showed the speed that got him to the lead from eighth and powered away from the field as David Gravel went side-by-side with Schatz for second and grabbed the position before the final caution flew with three laps remaining for Ian Madsen, who succumbed to a flat tire ending his top-ten run.

Gravel took a look underneath Sweet on the restart, opening the door for Schatz to steal second back from the CJB Motorsports No.5. Schatz had nothing left in the tank to come back after Sweet, as ‘The Big Cat’ crossed the line 1.460 seconds ahead of the Series Points Leader.

“I had a really good race car. It’s better to be in second sometimes, it allows you to move around,” Sweet said in Victory Lane about his pass for the lead. “We were terrible in the Dash going from sixth to eighth, but I was able to try some different lines, allowing us to make some changes for the Feature. We kept getting better and better as the race went on. It’s great to get this NAPA Auto Parts team in Victory Lane where they belong, hopefully we can keep this momentum up in the upcoming summer months,” Sweet said with positivity.

Schatz settled for second and endlessly thanked his Textron Off Road team for their continued work and was thankful to finally have the whole crew back, a rare occasion this season.

“I tried to go for the lead on the restart and lost a spot. We’ll take third, I can’t thank my guys and car owners enough for this opportunity,” Gravel, who set fast time during Qualifying, said. “Hopefully we can continue to qualify well and build off of this going forward.

Shane Stewart finished fourth, ending his winning streak at Lawrenceburg with Parker Price-Miller coming from 16th to complete the top five. Aaron Reutzel earned KSE Hard Charger honors advancing 15 positions, from 22nd to finish seventh.

The World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series continues its 40th Anniversary Season Wednesday, May 30 with the Series’ inaugural visit to Fairbury American Legion Speedway (FALS) in Illinois. Tickets for the can’t miss event at FALS can be purchased here. The Series then treks to I-96 Speedway in Michigan on Friday before heading to Wilmot in Wisconsin to conclude the weekend. Schatz Passes Stewart Late for Ninth Win of 2018 at Charlotte

CHARLOTTE, NC – May 25, 2018 – Donny Schatz continues his dominance of the 2018 World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series 40th Anniversary Season. Schatz passed Shane Stewart on Lap 24 and went on to win his ninth Feature of the year and 11th of his career at The Dirt Track at Charlotte Motor Speedway. 2017 Outlaw Showdown winner Logan Schuchart completed the podium.

Schatz won the Sears Craftsman Dash to earn the pole for the 30-Lap Feature, but it was Stewart leading the opening lap, utilizing the top of the racing surface.

Stewart set a torrid pace out front and reached lapped traffic quickly before a Lap 10 yellow for Jacob Allen cleared the track for the Bixby, OK native. A caution two laps later for Clyde Knipp would be the final stoppage of the Feature, as the remaining 18 laps went Green-to-Checkered.

Stewart, in search of his first win of the season, again approached traffic quickly in front of Schatz while Brad Sweet, Logan Schuchart and Sheldon Haudenschild waged war for third. That aforementioned trio put on the best race of the evening throwing massive slide jobs, jockeying for position around The Dirt Track at Charlotte.

As laps began to dwindle, Schatz continued to close in on the leader running a car length lower than Stewart was. Schatz showed his nose underneath Stewart multiple times but Stewart stayed in the gas to maintain the lead.

As heavy traffic loomed, Schatz swooped underneath Stewart successfully to lead Lap 24 and the Fargo, ND native would never look back going on to win by 1.684 seconds in front of Stewart.

“In this sport, what you see is what you get, nobody wants to run second, but sometimes it does help when entering lapped traffic. I started moving around the track and my car kept getting better and better,” Schatz said in Victory Lane.

“We’ve been short a [crew] guy all year. I can’t take credit for this, I just drive the thing. These guys have dug and dug through all the adversity this season. We seem to get better through adversity though. I can’t wait for the next race,” Schatz added with a smile.

Shane Stewart, who’s Kyle Larson Racing No.2 team is based out of nearby Mooresville, NC, praised his crew for all the hard work this week. “I can’t thank my guys enough. Maintaining a World of Outlaws Sprint Car requires a lot of work and a lot of money. This is a strong finish for our team. We’ve had a tough start to the year, but hopefully we can get some momentum into the summer months,” Stewart said.

Schuchart, who was victorious in this event a year ago, echoed Stewart’s sentiment about the hard work of his crew, “We haven’t been racing a whole lot lately because of the weather, but these guys haven’t taken a day off. We struggled a little bit on restarts tonight, but we were really strong.”

Sweet and Haudenschild completed the top five with Ian Madsen, Daryn Pittman, Jason Johnson, David Gravel and Gerard McIntyre, Jr – in his first career start at Charlotte – completing the top ten. Brent Marks earned his fourth KSE Hard Charger honor of the season coming from a transfer in the Last Chance Showdown to finish 12th.

With NASCAR at the big track at Charlotte Motor Speedway this weekend, World of Outlaws car owners Kasey Kahne and Ricky Stenhouse Jr. raced with the Series. Kahne made his sixth Outlaw start of the year and came forward to an 11th place finish while Stenhouse, in his first Outlaw start since 2009, won the LCS and came home 16th in the No.17BC.

The World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series continues its 40th Anniversary Season with a Memorial Day race at Lawrenceburg Speedway in Indiana before making its inaugural visit to Fairbury American Legion Speedway (FALS) in Illinois on Wednesday, May 30.

Outlaws Forced to Postpone Return to Bridgeport Speedway

SWEDESBORO, NJ – May 21, 2018 – Mother Nature has struck again, forcing the postponement of the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series return to Bridgeport Speedway. The event was scheduled for tomorrow Tuesday, May 22, but extremely saturated grounds at the facility have forced the World of Outlaws and Bridgeport Speedway to postpone the event to a later date.

Both Bridgeport track officials and World of Outlaws officials were at the facility Monday afternoon and worked feverishly before making the ultimate decision that the facility will not be ready by Tuesday due to the amount of rainfall received over the last 72 hours.

Outlaw and Bridgeport officials are working on a date for a potential rescheduled event. Stay tuned to World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series social media channels for the most up to date information. The World of Outlaws 40th Anniversary Season continues Friday, May 25 with the Outlaw Showdown at The Dirt Track at Charlotte Motor Speedway before heading back to the Midwest.

David Gravel Wins a Wild One at Tri-State

HAUBSTADT, IN – May 13, 2018 – David Gravel was one of four different leaders in a crazy Feature at Tri-State Speedway and inherited the lead while running third when the leaders crashed on a restart. It was Gravel’s second World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series win of the 2018 season. Hunter Schuerenburg scored a career-best second place finish with Kyle Larson completing the podium.

David Gravel said it best, “It’s a 40-lap race at Haubstadt, anything can happen.”

Anything can happen and just about everything did happen. Gravel’s night started off with a bang, literally, as he made heavy contact with the wall on his first lap in Qualifying, nearly sending the CJB Motorsports No.5 for a ride. Gravel never came to a complete stop, recollected his machine and smartly took his car backwards around the track to make sure he had momentum for his second Qualifying lap. The veteran move paid off as Gravel laid the fifth fastest lap in Flight B, positioning himself nicely for his Heat Race.

Gravel would go on to finish second in his Heat Race and draw the front row for the Sears Craftsman Dash, an event he would win to earn the pole of the 40-lap Feature. The Watertown, CT driver shared the front row with a different face, as Kevin Thomas Jr., in his first Outlaw start of the season, came forward to finish second in the Dash.

Thomas, a non-wing Sprint Car ace, used the cushion to lead the opening lap. Gravel would pull a slide job in turn one and two and led the field down the backstretch of the second lap. Just as the yellow flew for Aaron Reutzel, heartbreak struck for Thomas. The studs on the hub sheared off, causing the right front tire to come completely dislodged from the Dooling Hayward Motorsports No.63 machine, ending the current USAC Points Leader's night in unfortunate fashion.

Gravel controlled the restart, but Indiana native Justin Peck showcased his speed as he powered around the CJB Motorsports No.5 to lead Lap 4. Peck set a blistering pace out front and put some distance between him and the rest of the field once he took command.

Sheldon Haudenschild would throw his name in the mix, taking third on Lap 13 and began quickly closing in on Gravel and Peck as they navigated lapped traffic. Haudenschild and Gravel thrilled the capacity crowd, exchanging slide jobs back and forth for multiple laps as they battled for the runner-up spot in exciting fashion. Sheldon just barely edged Gravel at the line before the caution flew on Lap 23 for Kerry Madsen.

Peck chose the top for the double-file restart, but an excellent restart for Haudenschild saw him grab the lead convincingly. A Lap 30 caution for Ian Madsen set up the restart everyone is talking about.

Haudenschild elected to the bottom with Peck to his outside. Peck tried a massive slide job on Haudenschild in turn one and two for the lead, but it ended with the duo making heavy contact, creating a logjam in front of the rest of the field.

After the race, the two drivers had a different perspective on the incident. Sheldon, obviously disappointed, thought that the incident was pretty cut and dry, while Peck called it hard racing.

“I thought I had a run on the restart, we were both racing hard. I hope there are no hard feelings going forward. It’s definitely a confidence booster to have this much speed, but we have to finish races,” Peck said after the race. Peck, Haudenschild and Brady Bacon, who was running sixth, all had too much damage to continue.

After the carnage was cleared, David Gravel assumed the race lead with 10 laps remaining, with Hunter Schuerenburg and Kyle Larson in tow. Gravel was strong, but Schuerenburg stayed right with him in search of his first career Outlaw win. Gravel made a bold move with two laps remaining, splitting two lapped cars, but once again Schuerenburg kept pace. Schuerenburg got a massive run down the backstretch on the final lap to make it a thrilling finish to the line as Gravel barely edged the No.20N by 0.101 seconds for the victory. The win was CJB Motorsports fourth win in their last five starts at Tri-State, dating back to when Paul McMahan drove for the Pennsylvania-based team.

“I tried to race a smart race, the lapped cars got tricky. I saw Hunter poke his nose there at the end, what a great run for him, I’ve known him for a long time and they’ve been good this year,” David Gravel said in Victory Lane.

“With me in the middle, I knew it would be tough to go around me and I was still able to see who was on the bottom.” “I’m happy to get another win, it’s been an up and down year so far, happy to get a win on Natalie’s [Jackson] birthday and on Mother’s Day,” Gravel added.

Hunter Schuerenburg was pleased with his career-best second place effort, “We’re slowly getting there, I’m not going to say we are there yet, these guys [we are racing against] are really good. Overall it was a great effort for my team, this deal is a lot of fun. We’ll just keep on rolling and see if we can get one here soon.”

Kyle Larson finished third, but never truly threatened the race leaders. “My car got better and better throughout the race. I had a lot of fun tonight, it was cool to be on the podium after not being in a Sprint Car in a while,” Larson stated.

Joey Saldana came from ninth to fourth with 14th-starting Donny Schatz completing the top five. Last year’s Outlaw winner at Tri-State Parker Price-Miller earned KSE Hard Charger honors coming from 22nd to eighth.

The World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series continues its 40th Anniversary Season and heads to Central Pennsylvania for a trio of dates with the Pennsylvania Posse starting on Wednesday, May 16 at the Lincoln Speedway before heading to Williams Grove Speedway on Friday and Saturday May 17 and 18 with the running of the Morgan Cup.
