STANGLE SCORES A WIN IN THE VAHLCO WHEELS MODIFIED FEATURE AT NEW EGYPT SPEEDWAY

New Egypt, NJ (April 21, 2019) – At New Egypt Speedway’s Plumsted Township Night, Matt Stangle scored a win in the Vahlco Wheels Modified feature. The Crate Modified feature was won by Eric Palmer. Rich Mellor collected the checkered flag in the main event for the Larry's Hot Rods & Harley's Northeast Wingless Sprint Cars. Joe Garey Sr. visited victory lane after winning the 4-Cylinder race while Anthony Tramontana Jr. was the victor in the Lyons Construction/Metal Fab Rookie Sportsman.

The 30-lap Vahlco Wheels Modified feature began with polesitter Brian Papiez bolting to the front with JR Fulper and Matt Stangle in tow. The top three remained in order until a pair of cautions took place on the sixth tour. When green flag racing returned, Stangle grabbed the lead with Papiez in second and Fulper in third. Mike Butler, who started the event in fourteenth, was continuing his march forward as he moved into fourth place on the eighth revolution. After an eleventh lap yellow flag for a slowing John McClelland, the ensuing restart was red flagged as Kevin Vaclavicek’s car flipped on the frontstretch and collected other competitors. Once action resumed, Stangle was still on top with Papiez in second with twelve laps completed. Sixteenth place starting Danny Bouc inched closer to the front as he passed Butler for third on the thirteenth tour. The yellow lights illuminated for the final time with eight laps to go for Fulper. As the green flag waved, Stangle held off Papiez to maintain his lead as Butler took third place from Bouc and eighteenth place starting Ryan Godown motoring into fifth. On the very next circuit, Bouc regained third from Butler. With five laps remaining, Stangle had developed a half straight away advantage over Papiez. Stangle went unchallenged the rest of the way to pick up his second career Modified feature win. Papiez’s strong run netted him the runner-up position. With Bouc finishing third, Butler was fourth and Godown was fifth. Brian Papiez, Matt Stangle and TJ Lilly claimed the Vahlco Modified heat races.

In the 20-lap Crate Modified feature, Eric Palmer catapulted to the front on the second circuit and remained on top to capture his ninth career victory. Second place went to Joseph Brown. George Gareis Jr. came from eighth place to finish in third. Ryan Heim and Aaron Weaver rounded out the top five. The Crate Modifieds heat races were won by Joseph Brown and Eric Palmer. Robby Dunn was the victor of the consolation contest.

For the third time in his career, Rich Mellor took top honors in the 25-lap Larry's Hot Rods & Harley's Northeast Wingless Sprint Cars main event. Following a restart, Mellor overtook Brian Spencer on the sixteenth circuit and pulled away from the pack to gain the win. With Spencer taking second, Jermain Godshall was third. Heidi Hedin was fourth and Al Cheney came home in fifth. John Brammell and Brian Spencer took the Larry's Hot Rods & Harley's Northeast Wingless Sprint Cars qualifying events.

After taking the lead from Paul Hartwig on the second circuit, Joe Garey Sr. went unchallenged to capture the 15-lap 4-Cylinder race. The runner-up spot was taken by Joe Garey Jr. Mike Fox was third. Fourth went to TJ Graves with Hartwig holding on to take fifth.

Anthony Tramontana Jr. took the lead from Nick Van Wickle as the white flag waved to win his first career Lyons Construction/Metal Fab Rookie Sportsman contest. Ryan Godown Jr., who had won the first two rookie races this season, nipped Van Wickle at the line to grab second. With Van Wickle third, Ryan Krushinski was fourth and Vinny Troia was fifth.

PAUCH JR. WINS THE VAHLCO WHEELS MODIFIED FEATURE AT NEW EGYPT SPEEDWAY

New Egypt, NJ (April 14, 2019) – Billy Pauch Jr. won the Vahlco Wheels Modified feature at New Egypt Speedway. Modified Winner Billy Pauch JR (WOS Photo)

After the original start of the 30-lap Vahlco Wheels Modified feature was marred by a caution, Cale Ross rocketed to the front on the ensuing green flag with Brian Papiez next in line. As the top two of Ross and Papiez were pulling away from the pack, Mike Butler was continuing his march to the front as the tenth place starter slipped into third place on lap five. Following the second and final yellow flag of the race on the eighth circuit, Ross was still on top with Butler nudging past Papiez for second with sixteenth place starting Billy Pauch Jr. jumping into fourth. One lap later, Papiez regained the runner-up spot. At the midway point of the race, Ross had a half-straightaway advantage over Papiez. Two circuits later, Pauch. Jr. was just in the process of driving by Butler for third when the second place running Papiez pulled into the infield and out of the contest. Now with Pauch Jr. in second and in hot pursuit, Ross was beginning to encounter the tail end of the field with eleven laps remaining. By the twenty-second tour, Ross’s margin over Pauch Jr. had evaporated to a mere two car lengths in heavier lap traffic. Over the next few tours, Ross had Pauch Jr. on his bumper. After a brief side-by-side duel, Pauch Jr. scooted past Ross with only five revolutions left in the race. Over the final laps, Pauch Jr. increased his lead and went unchallenged to grab the checkered flag for his twenty-second career Modified win. Ross held off Butler to take second. With Butler in third, Ryan Krachun finished in fourth after starting the race in eleventh. Brandon Grosso, who started the race in thirteenth, came home in fifth. The winners in the Vahlco Wheels Modified heat races were PJ Oliver and Brian Papiez.

MASS Sprint Winner Bryant Davis (WOS Photo)

In the 20-lap Delaware Auto Exchange Mid-Atlantic Sprint Series main event, Bryant Davis motored by the early leading Larry McVay with seven laps remaining to gain the victory. The runner-up spot went to Rick Stief. Jason Dunn finished in third after starting the contest in eleventh. Delaware Auto Exchange Mid-Atlantic Sprint Series rookie Chuckles Stone came from nineteenth to complete the race in fourth. Eighteenth place starting Ricky DiEva completed the event in fifth. Bryant Davis and Randy Wilbert won the Delaware Auto Exchange Mid-Atlantic Sprint Series qualifying events.

In the closing laps of the MASS Sprint Car feature Eddie Wagner took a wild ride in the first turn, he was ok. (WOS Photo)

In the originally scheduled 20-lap Hammer Sportsman feature, Jim Housworth was declared the victor after the time limit was reached and eight laps were completed. The victory was the fifth Sportsman win for Housworth at New Egypt Speedway. Second place was captured by JT Trstensky. Twelfth place starting Steve Davis finished in third. Joseph Brown and John Criscione filled out the top five. JT Trstensky and Steve Davis were victorious in the Hammer Sportsman heat races. The consolation contest was captured by Brad Roberts.

For the twenty-seventh time in his career, Bill Liedtka took top honors in the 15-lap Street Stock feature. Liedtka, who was involved in a second lap caution with Jon Meyer, roared back through the field and took the lead from Brian Ludwig on the seventh tour. Meyer slipped by Ludwig on the final circuit to take second. With Ludwig crossing the line in third, Billy Wroble was fourth and Vern McLaughlin finished fifth.

After taking command from Jim Van Wickle on the fourth circuit, Ryan Godown Jr. ran away from the field to win his second consecutive 8-lap Lyons Construction/Metal Fab Rookie Sportsman race. The runner-up position was claimed by Anthony Tramontana Jr. Third place went to Vinny Troia. DJ Hunt and Ryan Krushinski completed the top five.

GODOWN LOGS A WIN AT NEW EGYPT SPEEDWAY’S CABIN FEVER

New Egypt, NJ (April 7, 2019) – At New Egypt Speedway’s Cabin Fever 40 presented by Oliver Communications Group, Ryan Godown topped the field in the Vahlco Modified feature. The Crate Modified feature went to Ryan Simmons. Jermain Godshall was the victor in the Larry's Hot Rods & Harley's Northeast Wingless Sprint Car main event. TJ Graves took the checkered flag in the 4-Cylinder race with Ryan Godown Jr. winning the Lyons Construction/Metal Fab Rookie Sportsman contest.

Polesitter Danny Bouc bolted to the front of the pack as the 40-lap Vahlco Modified feature got underway. On the second circuit, Billy Pauch Jr. moved past Brian Papiez to take over the runner-up spot. The top three of Bouc, Pauch Jr. and Papiez remained intact until the first yellow flag waved on lap four. When action resumed, Pauch Jr. swept past Bouc to grab the lead. Following a trio of caution periods, Pauch Jr. was still in front with thirteenth place starting Ryan Godown in second, Bouc in third, and John McClelland in fourth with seven revolutions completed. During this stretch of green flag racing, Pauch Jr. built up a five car length advantage over Godown with fifteen laps registered. Over the next few laps and with the top two in traffic, Godown quickly closed in on Pauch Jr. By lap twenty-five, Pauch Jr. and Godown were in a side-by-side tussle for the top spot. On the next circuit, Godown wrestled first place away from Pauch Jr. Now heading his rivals and with ten laps remaining, Godown was knifing his way past slower competitors as Pauch Jr. was fighting back to regain the lead. On lap thirty-three, Godown and Pauch Jr. were door-to-door again with Godown using the outer groove. Two tours later, Godown managed to retain his lead following a tangle with a slower running competitor in traffic. As the two-to-go sign was given, Godown still had Pauch Jr. in his tracks. On the final turn of the last lap, Godown fended off another determined challenge by Pauch Jr. to narrowly win his forty-seventh Modified feature. With Pauch Jr. taking second, Bouc’s strong run resulted in third place. McClelland was fourth. Eleventh place starter Brandon Grosso rounded out the top five. Pauch Jr., Bouc and Mike Butler were victorious in the Vahlco Modified heat races.

Ryan Simmons passed Johnny Bangs with four laps left to win the 20-lap Crate Modified feature. Polesitter Eric Palmer paced the field for the first thirteen tours until an incident between himself and second place running Ryan Heim sent Palmer into a spin. Following this caution period, Bangs became the new leader and led the pack until Simmons took command. The victory was the second for Simmons in the Crate Modified division. Twelfth place starting Joe Toth came home in second. Jeremy Martino’s late rush rewarded him with a third place finish. Bangs took fourth with Steve Hicks next in line. The Crate Modifieds qualifying events were taken by Palmer and Kevin Borden.

In the 25-lap Larry's Hot Rods & Harley's Northeast Wingless Sprint Car main event, Jermain Godshall used the outside groove on the final tour to visit victory lane for the third time in his career. For the opening nine laps, Stan Ploski headed his rivals before Godshall took over. Rich Mellor gained the top spot from Godshall on the twelfth tour. Once in front, Mellor began to pull away and had his sizeable margin wiped out by a caution period on lap twenty-three. On the last revolution of the race, Mellor lost control of his car in the final corner and Godshall took advantage of the miscue to claim the win. Mellor was able to hold on for second and Ploski was third. Heidi Hedin and Duane Nixon filled out the top five. Ploski and Brad Schalle won the heat races.

On the final circuit of the 15-lap 4-Cylinder race, TJ Graves squeezed by Jimmy Avery in traffic to score the victory. After starting fourteenth, Mike Fox finished in the runner-up spot. With Avery holding on for third, Joe Garey Jr. was fourth and Justin Dunn completed the race in fifth.

In the 8-lap Lyons Construction/Metal Fab Rookie Sportsman race, Ryan Godown Jr. took the lead from Ryan Krushinski on the third circuit and paced the field the rest of the way to take the win. After starting last in the field of eight, Anthony Tramontana came home in second. Third place went to DJ Hunt with Vinny Troia taking fourth. Krushinski, who led the opening two tours, held on to finish in fifth.

On Saturday, April 13, the Delaware Auto Exchange Mid-Atlantic Sprint Series starts their 2019 season with a visit to New Egypt Speedway. GODOWN ROCKETS TO VICTORY LANE AT NEW EGYPT SPEEDWAY’S ALL STAR CUP

New Egypt, NJ (October 21, 2018) – At New Egypt Speedway’s All Star Cup, Ryan Godown rocketed to victory lane in the Modified feature. The Hammer Sportsman main event was captured by Art Liedl. Johnny Bangs topped the field in the Crate Modified feature while Rich Mellor took top honors in the main event for the Larry’s Hot Rods & Harley’s Northeast Wingless Sprint Cars.

As the 60-lap Modified feature got underway, Jimmy Horton grabbed the lead with Cale Ross and Ryan Godown next in line. Following a caution on the first circuit, Godown zipped to the front of the pack on the restart with Horton dropping into second. Horton regained the top running spot on the third tour. After two additional appearances of the yellow flag, Horton was still in command on lap seven with Godown in his tracks. After a good multi-circuit duel, Godown returned to the front with nine revolutions completed. Horton, using the high side, recaptured the lead on lap ten. Horton and Godown continued to remain in close quarters over the next several tours with Ryan Krachun in third and Duane Howard in fourth. On lap fourteen, Godown slipped past Horton to take back first place. Godown was beginning to build a sizeable advantage when the caution lights illuminated on lap seventeen for a slowing Jack Swain. When action resumed, Godown maintained his edge with Horton, Krachun, Howard and David VanHorn completing the top five. By lap twenty with Godown beginning to pull away from his rivals, Horton was fending off Krachun’s advances for second place. On lap twenty-five, Krachun’s good run ended as he slowed on the track due to a mechanical issue. When green flag racing returned, Godown fended off Horton to maintain his lead with Howard in third, Mike Gular in fourth, and Billy Pauch Jr. in fifth. As Godown was stretching out his advantage, David VanHorn motored by Pauch Jr. to enter into the top five. On lap thirty-five, a flat tire on Chad Barney’s ride brought out the final yellow flag of the contest and the scheduled fuel stop took place as well. Following the short break in the action, the top three of Godown, Horton and Howard remained intact. Pauch Jr. broke back into the top five by motoring into fourth on lap thirty-seven with Gular shuffling back to fifth. During this good stretch of green flag racing, Godown was able to build a comfortable advantage. However with ten circuits to go and lap traffic looming ahead, Horton was cutting into Godown’s margin. On lap fifty-two, the top two were beginning to pass slower competitors with Howard and Pauch Jr. battling for third. With only five tours remaining, Godown’s advantage was still evaporating with Howard and Pauch Jr. running door-to-door. After clearing lap traffic on the final circuit, Godown crossed the finish line before his foes to take his first checkered flag of the season and his forty-sixth of his career. With Horton coming home in second, Howard completed the race in third. Fourth went to Pauch Jr. with Gular finishing in fifth. Duane Howard, Cale Ross and Mike Gular were victorious in the Modified heat races. The consolation contest was claimed by Mike Butler.

After taking the lead on the fifteenth circuit, Art Liedl paced the field for the remaining tours to grab his second victory of the season in the 25-lap Hammer Sportsman feature. JT Trstensky led the opening fourteen revolutions before the tenth place starting Liedl took control following a restart. Trstensky’s strong effort resulted in a second place finish. Jim Housworth was third. Will Dupree was fourth and Joseph Brown was fifth. The Hammer Sportsman heat races went to Art Liedl and Louden Reimert.

In the 25-lap feature for the Crate Modifieds, Johnny Bangs survived a restart with two tours remaining to claim his first career victory. As the contest began, Bob Lilick grabbed the top running spot. Jeremy Martino took over the lead on lap two. On the sixth circuit, the fourth place starting Bangs swept by Martino to take command of the race for the remaining distance. Martino finished in second with Eric Palmer coming home in third. Fourth went to John Aumick. Ryan Simmons came from his sixteenth starting spot to finish fifth. John Aumick and Jordon Cox won the Crate Modifieds qualifying races.

Polesitter Rich Mellor led from start to finish to capture the win in the 20-lap main event for the Larry’s Hot Rods & Harley’s Northeast Wingless Sprint Cars. The victory was the second of the year for Mellor. Heidi Hedin came home in second. Eighth place starting Brian Spencer earned third place. Joey Biasi and Jermain Godshall rounded out the top five. The heat races in the Larry’s Hot Rods & Harley’s Northeast Wingless Sprint Cars division were taken by Rich Mellor and Joey Biasi.

PAUCH AND LINEMAN RECORD WINS AT NEW EGYPT SPEEDWAY'S LEGENDS OF THE FALL

New Egypt, NJ (September 23, 2018) - At New Egypt Speedway's Legends of the
Fall, Billy Pauch Jr. took home the $7500 check after recording the win in
the Modified feature. Bob Lineman Jr. topped the field in the Crate vs.
Sportsman main event.

As the 75-lap Modified feature began, Billy Pauch Jr. motored to the front
from his third place starting spot with Jeff Strunk grabbing second. On the
second circuit, the first caution of the event took place for Anthony
Perrego's right front flat tire. When racing resumed, Pauch Jr. remained on
top with Strunk, Danny Bouc, David VanHorn and Brett Kressley next in line.

As a lengthy stretch of green flag action was evolving, the top runners
began to encounter lap traffic with twelve laps completed. By the sixteenth
tour, Pauch Jr. was masterfully weaving his way past slower competitors with
Strunk in tow while Bouc and VanHorn were in close quarters for third place.

The dicing through heavy traffic continued for Pauch Jr. and Strunk until
the top two entered some clear space with twenty-seven revolutions
completed. On lap thirty-three, the ride of Wade Hendrickson slowed down in
the first corner and the yellow lights illuminated the dirt oval. When green
flag racing returned, the top two of Pauch Jr. and Strunk stayed intact with
VanHorn passing Bouc for third and Kressley fending off Jimmy Horton for
fifth. On lap thirty-seven, eighth place running Michael Storms stopped on
the backstretch of the track after the engine expired on his ride and the
yellow flag waved again. Following the restart, the top five of Pauch Jr.,
Strunk, VanHorn, Bouc, and Kressley stayed in order. Over the next several
laps, the advantage for Pauch Jr. began to increase until the yellow flag
appeared for the lap forty-five fuel stop. During the brief break in racing,
the fifth place running Kressley went pitside and did not return. On the
restart following the short pause, Bouc lost his fourth place position due
to a spin in turn one. Following the clean resumption of racing, Pauch Jr.,
Strunk and VanHorn were still in the top three spots with Craig Von Dohren
in fourth and Horton in fifth. By lap fifty, Pauch Jr. was beginning to pull
away from his rivals. With fifteen circuits remaining, the leader was back
in the midst of lap traffic. On lap sixty-two, Frank Cozze's mount stopped
in the fourth corner. On the restart, Pauch Jr. repelled another challenge
by Strunk to remain on top with VanHorn holding onto third, Horton taking
over fourth and Mike Gular zipping into fifth. With ten laps to go, a spin
by JR Fulper stopped the action. When green flag racing returned, Pauch Jr.
remained in control with VanHorn outdueling Strunk to gain the runner-up
spot. Entering the closing moments of the feature, Pauch Jr. was
comfortably in command until a mechanical failure on Strunk's ride brought
out the last yellow flag of the race with only three laps remaining. After
the single file restart, Pauch Jr. held off VanHorn in the final laps to
register his twenty-first career victory at New Egypt Speedway. VanHorn, the
2018 Modified champion, came home in second. Horton held off a hard charge
by Gular to take third. With the seventeenth place starting Gular finishing
fourth, fifth was taken by Von Dohren. Danny Bouc, Ryan Godown, TJ Lilly and
Brett Kressley were victorious in the Modified heat races. The consolation
events went to Mike Gular and Brian Papiez.

In the 30-lap Crate Modifieds vs. Sportsman, Bob Lineman Jr., the 2018 track
champion, led every circuit to claim his fourth victory of the year and the
twentieth of his career. Cale Ross came from twelfth to finish in second.
Third place was captured by Art Liedl. After starting the contest in
twenty-first, Louden Reimert completed the race in fourth. The top five was
filled out by Jeremy Martino. The winners in the qualifying events were Matt
Ellery, Art Liedl and Will Dupree.
