STOCK CAR INDEPENDENCE CELEBRATION AT WALL STADIUM SATURDAY

WALL TOWNSHIP, N.J. ~ The birthday of our nation will be the focus on Saturday night (July 6) as auto racing enthusiasts will be rewarded with a 40-lap race for the All American Auto Group Modified stock cars and a 50-lapper for the Surfside Collision 4 Cylinder Stocks. The O'Shea's Auto Repair Factory Stocks are set for two 25-lap races, one regularly scheduled and one rain postponed from earlier in the season. The Center State Engineering Sportsman racers and the open cockpit ATQMRA Three Quarter Midgets will each race in a 25-lap main event. The restored cars of the Garden State Vintage Stock Car Club will present a rolling exhibition. Grandstand seating will open at 5:00 p.m. and qualifying is set for 5:45 p.m. Main event racing will follow at 7:00 p.m.

Veterans and active military, with proper id, will be admitted free in honor of their service and the Independence Day holiday. In addition, the holiday weekend celebration will feature a free sunglasses for fans while supplies last, special food items at the refreshment stands and country music on the public address system.

Recent winner Eric Mauriello of Brick will lead the way in the Modified division with expected competition coming from Holmdel's Andrew Krause, Jackson's Steven Reed, Toms River's Derek Hopkinson, Kenny Van Wickle of Manasquan, Dom Fattaruso of Brick and Roger Coss of Lafayette, just to name a few.

Leading the 4 Cylinder Stocks into their 50-lap main event will be point leader Neil Rutt III of Edison, Randy Hart of Brick, Darianne McLaren of Edison, and Jeffrey Loesch of Neptune City, among many others.

Top Sportsman drivers Eric Lane of Howell, Kyle Scisco of Jackson and brothers Jarret and Carsten DiGiantomasso, both of Jackson, are expected to see action in the feature race. Beachwood's Elliott Wohl and Scott Riggleman of Manchester will lead the Factory Stocks into action.

Wall Stadium presents professional motorsports events on Saturdays and Sundays during the summer months. MODIFIEDS, 50-LAP 4 CYLINDER RACE HEADLINE “SCOUT NIGHT” AUTO RACING ACTION AT WALL STADIUM THIS SATURDAY (JUNE 29)

WALL TOWNSHIP, N.J. ~ An extra-distance 50 lap race for the Surfside Collision 4 Cylinder stocks and a 40-lapper for the All American Auto Group Modifieds will headline “Scout Night” auto racing action this Saturday night (June 29) at Wall Stadium Speedway. Grandstand seating will open at 5:00 p.m. and qualifying is set for 5:45 p.m. Main event action will follow around 7:00 p.m.

The evening will honor both Boy and Girl Scouts, as they will be admitted free when wearing an item from the official scout uniform or come to the speedway with their Scout troop. It will be $1 Hot Dog Night at the refreshment stands.

On the third mile high-banked paved oval the Modifieds will battle in a 40-lap main event. Three-time and recent Garden State Classic champion Steven Reed of Jackson will lead the way with plenty of competition coming from Modified point leader Eric Mauriello of Brick, Andrew Krause of Holmdel, Roger Coss of Lafayette, Dom Fattaruso of Brick and Derek Hopkinson of Toms River just to name a few.

The 4 Cylinder Stocks will also be in the spotlight in a 50-lap main event with current point leader Neil Rutt III of Edison leading the way. Top runners Jeffrey Loesch of Neptune City, Darianne McLaren of Edison, Brick's Randy Hart and Alonzo Morales of Mt. Ephraim are also expected to see action

The Green Flag Driving Experience Legend Cars and the Center State Engineering Sportsman cars are all also set for 25-lap races.

Saturday’s schedule will see the competitor pit area open at 1:00 p.m. Regular practice will start at 3:00 p.m., while spectator seating will open at 5:00 p.m. Qualifying is set for 5:45 p.m. with main events to follow.

MAURIELLO TOPS MODS, MAJEK, O'SHEA AND RAJKOWSKI ARE WALL FACTORY STOCK WNNERS

WALL TOWNSHIP, N.J. ~ Eric Mauriello raced to his third win of the season in the 40-lap main event for the All American Auto Group Modified stock cars at Wall Stadium Speedway Saturday night. The Brick resident's victory came in front of a large crowd on the first Saturday night of the summer season at the Jersey Shore.

Kenny Matlach of New Hyde Park, N.Y. was the first leader of the contest but Tyler Truex of Little Egg Harbor soon advanced to second to challenge. Mauriello was on the charge from deep in the pack and arrived in third spot soon after. The top runners raced in tight formation until lap eight when several made contact and Matlach spun as a result. Mauriello then used the outside lane, as he had to advance through the pack, to race into the lead and was never headed the rest of the way.

Holmdel's Andrew Krause advanced to second by lap 12 and then raced home for second with Roger Coss of Lafayette, Toms River's Derek Hopkinson and recent Garden State Classic winner Steven Reed of Jackson wrapping up the top five.

“Steve and the crew have this No. 31 running great,” Mauriello said after stretching his point lead. “Inside or outside the car is fast and handles well. It really works good in the outside lane.”

The O'Shea's Auto Repair Factory Stocks were featured in three 25-lap main events. Tim Majek of Scotch Plains grabbed his second career win in the first race after early leader John Bowers of Pt. Pleasant spun after the duo made contact in the heat of battle on lap 18. Bryan O'Shea of Neptune City, Manchester's Scott Riggleman, Gerry Koenig of Merrick, N.Y. and Howell's Nick Kilmer wrapped up the top five.

The second main event saw O'Shea take the after jumping into the top spot early. Koenig, Tom Rajkowski of Fords, Elliott Wohl of Beachwood and Brick's Joe Mongeau completed the top five.

Rajkowski then took over the lead of the third main event on lap seven and raced on to his first ever main event win. Koenig, Wohl, early leader Joey Helberg of Union and Mongeau wrapped up the top five.

Jarret DiGiantomasso of Jackson took an emotional victory, dedicating the win to a friend who recently passed away, in the Center State Engineering Sportsman 25-lapper. Michael Carr of Pt. Pleasant was second with Howell's Eric Lane, Tommy Martino of Farmingdale and Michael Rising of Little Egg Harbor finishing third through fifth.

Neil Rutt III of Edison to the lead early and raced to a convincing win in the 25-lap race for the Surfside Collision 4 Cylinder Stocks, his third of the season. Jeffrey Loesch of Neptune City, Darianne McLaren of Edison, Sal Liguori of Hazlet and Ryan Maher of Neptune were second through fifth.

Defending Mike's Performance Center Limited Late Model champion Shanon Mongeau of Jackson won his fifth 25-lapper of the second over Jerick Johnson of North Carolina, Hazlet's Chris Silvestri, Jim Moorman of Brooklawn and Jackson's Greg Gastelu.

Auto racing continues at Wall Stadium Speedway this Saturday (June 29) night. The Modified cars will battle in a 40-lapper while the Center State Engineering Sportsman cars and the Green Flag Driving Experience Legend cars will compete in 25 lap main events. REED WINS THIRD GARDEN STATE CLASSIC AT WALL SATURDAY

WALL TOWNSHIP, N.J. ~ Veteran All American Auto Group Modified stock car driver Steven Reed survived most of the carnage and raced on to victory in the Garden State Classic auto race at Wall Stadium Speedway Saturday night. It was the Jackson speedster's third victory in the 125 lap grind.

Tyler Truex of Little Egg Harbor was the early leader of this 59th edition of the race as Reed lurked in the top pack for most of the early going. Reed pitted earlier than most for new tires and he felt that may have been the winning move. When Truex and a host of others headed to the pit area for a tire change around lap 80 Reed took over the top spot.

The race was a tough one for most competitors as the 26 car field was forced to endure several caution flags for accidents, an oil down which stopped the race when the track crew was faced with a massive clean-up and a hard hit by Willingboro's Trevor Alspach in the fourth turn guardrail. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.

For the final laps of the race Reed fought off the attacks of Derek Hopkinson of Toms River who battled side-by-side with Reed for many of the closing laps before finishing second. Holmdel's Andrew Krause was in contention most of the way before finishing third while Truex finished fourth. Howell's Eric Mauriello wrestled through many problems before finishing fifth.

“The pit strategy that we used tonight won the race for us,” Reed said in the winner's circle. “This is our third win in the race. We never pitted in the first one and short pitted in these last two wins.

“Taking this win on Father's Day weekend is pretty big for me. My father has been with me ever since I started racing so this win is for him.”

Like the Modifieds, the O'Shea's Auto Repair Factory Stocks also saw plenty of action in their 25-lapper before Neptune City's Brian O'Shea raced to his second straight victory. Union's Joey Helberg was second, with Scott Riggleman of Manchester, Nick Kilmer of Howell and Beachwood's Elliott Wohl wrapping up the top five.

Neil Rutt III of Edison raced through the pack and took the win in the 25-lapper for the Surfside Collision 4 Cylinder Stocks. Brian DeSarno of Wall, Farmingdale's Doug Ashford, Neptune City's Jeffrey Loesch and Alonzo Morales of Mt. Ephraim were second through fifth.

Rob Silver of Howell took the win in the 25-lap Green Flag Driving Experience race after the No. 88 of Sean Verwys, which crossed the finish line first, failed a post-race inspection. Peter Bruno of Little Silver, Brick's Joe McGrath, Kyle Dealaman of Warren and Jim Downey of Cliffwood Beach wrapped up the top five.

DEMO DERBY, FIVE MAIN EVENTS AND DISCOUNT ADMISSION ON “PACK THE TRACK NIGHT” AT WALL STADIUM THIS SATURDAY (JUNE 1)

WALL TOWNSHIP, N.J. ~ Auto racing fans have a big event slated for this Saturday (June 1) at Wall Stadium Speedway with a Demolition Derby and five stock car main event races during “Pack the Track Night” action. A special discounted admission price of just $10 for adults and $5 for students aged 7 to 17 will be offered. Kids 6 and under and parking are always free. Spectator seating will open at 5:00 p.m., with qualifying slated for 5:45 p.m. Main event action will follow at around 7:00 p.m. This “Carnival Night” themed event will feature free games on the midway area.

On the famous high banked third mile paved oval five feature races will be presented with the Center State Engineering Sportsman cars, the O'Shea's Auto Repair Factory Stocks and the Mike's Performance Center Limited Late Models all battling in 25-lap feature races. The Surfside Collision 4 Cylinder Stocks will see double duty as they battle in two 25-lap main events.

The Sportsman races will see former champion Kyle Scisco and brothers Jarret and Carsten DiGiantomasso, all of Jackson, not only battle for the race win but also for the division's point lead.

Top racers in the Factory Stock race will include defending champion Mike Montano of Freeport, N.Y., former champ Scot Riggleman of Manchester and Beachwood's Elliot Wohl. Alonzo Morales of Mt. Ephraim, Neil Rutt III of Edison and Sal Liguori of Union Beach are expected to lead the 4 Cylinders into main event action.

Defending champ Shanon Mongeau of Jackson and top runners Mike Tillett of Bayville and Chris Silvestri of Hazlet are expected for Limited Late Model competition.

Once the races are complete, the action will turn destructive when the Demolition Derby action is presented.

The grandstand midway will be festive during the “Carnival Night” event as plenty of games of chance for both young and old will be offered with prizes going to the winners.

MAURIELLO AND COSS TAKE EMOTIONAL WALL MODIFIED WINS

WALL TOWNSHIP, N.J. ~ All American Auto Group Modified stock car drivers Eric Mauriello of Brick and Roger Coss of Lafayette earned highly emotional wins at Wall Stadium Speedway Saturday night. Mauriello's Memorial Day weekend triumph came in a car that prominently featured the American Flag while Coss' win came in a car owned by the family of his late car-owner Jeff Willet. Willet passed away after a battle with cancer just a few weeks ago.

In the first main event, rain postponed from May 11, Toms River's Derek Hopkinson jumped to the lead and fought off Jackson's Steven Reed and Mauriello in the early going. Mauriello advanced to first near lap 40 and then fought off Ron Frees of Lanoka Harbor, Hopkinson and Reed to the finish. Andrew Krause of Holmdel was fifth.

“Steve Ferrara and the entire team really believe that this weekend is about all who gave their lives for our country,” Mauriello said. “I am proud to drive a car that looks like this on this weekend and even more proud to put it in the winner's circle.”

Like the first Modified main event the second one was also a slug fest with Brick's Dom Fattaruso leading the way early. Joey Merlino of Pine Hill soon took his turn at the front before Neptune's Chris Andretta took command before half way. Andretta fought off Merlino in the middle of the 40-lap race before Mauriello advanced to second for the final quarter of the event.

Mauriello then tried hard to make it a clean sweep on the night but spun exiting turn two with three laps remaining. Coss then advanced to second on the restart and charged to the front when Andretta's car stumbled exiting turn four. Andretta, Fattaruso, Shaun Carrig of Little Falls and Mauriello wrapped up the top five.

“This win is for Jeff Willet,” Coss said upon exiting his car. “Jeff and his family have done a lot for me and for everyone in this sport over the years. I miss him very much. This win is for Jeff.”

Carsten DiGiantomasso of Jackson won his second Center State Engineering Sportsman 25-lapper of the young season as Christian LaCicero of Lavallette fought off Jarret DiGiantomasso of Jackson for second. Micheal Rising of Little Egg Harbor and Brick's Robert Sutphin were fourth and fifth.

Howell's Rob Silver took the lead early and never looked back in the 25-lapper for the Green Flag Driving Experience Legend Cars. Sean Verwys of Stroudsburg, Pa., Peter Bruno of Little Silver, Jim Downey of Cliffwood Beach and Joe Przybylinski of Fairfield were second through fifth.

Jackson's Shanon Mongeau won the 25-lapper for the Mike's Performance Center Limited Late Models over Chris Silvestri of Hazlet. Jim Moorman of Brooklawn, Jackson's Greg Gastelu and Michelle Moorman completed the top five.

Joey Bailey won the 25-lap race for the visiting Three Quarter Midgets over Buddy Sload and Ryan Tidman.

The 2019 Saturday night regular season continues this Saturday (June 1) evening with the Surfside Collision 4 Cylinder Stocks racing in twin 25-lap main events while the O'Shea's Auto Repair Factory Stocks, Sportsman cars and the Limited Late Models all compete in single 25-lap feature races. Demolition Derby action will also be featured for the first time this season.

The “Pack the Track” night card will feature a $10 admission for all adults while student admission is just $5. On this “Carnival Night“ grandstands will open at 5:00 p.m. Qualifying starts at 5:45 p.m. and main event action starts at 7:00 p.m.
