BRIDGEPORT SPEEDWAY’S CHARLIE BRAY MEMORIAL EXPANDED TO TWO DAYS AND INCLUDES SUPER LATE MODELS AND BIG BLOCK MODIFIEDS

BRIDGEPORT, NJ (October 21, 2011) – The 2011 season at Bridgeport Speedway will end with a blockbuster 2-day event. On the weekend of November 19 and 20th, the Charlie Bray Memorial is slated to have eight feature events with the Super Late Models and Big Block Modifieds co-headlining the program. This special event is named in honor of the late Nazareth Speedway Promoter and Bridgeport Speedway Official, who passed away suddenly on December, 8, 2008.

The action gets underway on Saturday with heat and consolation races for the Super Late Models, Big Block Modifieds and Bridgeport Modifieds on the big 5/8th mile track. After qualifying is complete, the Super Late Models will duke it out in a 25-lap affair with $3000 going to the victor. The previously postponed Bridgeport Modified feature from the Wingate Classic show will be staged as well with the first place finisher receiving $2500.

Also on Saturday, Small Block Modifieds will have a 25-lap main event on the quarter mile speedway following qualifying events. $1000 will be awarded to the winner of this contest on the inner dirt oval. Sail panels are allowed for this race on the quarter mile. An Allied Recycling Demolition Derby closes out the day’s action.

On Sunday, a 25-lap $3000 to win Big Block Modified feature tops the day’s activity. A 25-lap Bridgeport Modified feature from Saturday’s heat races could be worth $1200 to the victor if more than 30 cars attempted to qualify. The TSRS Sprint Cars and Proformance Cuts Outlaw Stocks jump into action on this second day of competition with heat races and features. The Vintage Stock Cars will round out the card. All of Sunday’s races take place on the outer oval.

On Saturday November 19, the pit area opens at 10:00 a.m. with grandstand gates unlocking at 11:00 a.m. Warm-ups get underway at noon with racing slated to start shortly after hot laps.

On Sunday November 20, the pit and grandstand gates open at 10:00 a.m. A pre-race pit party and driver re-draw is scheduled for 10:45 a.m. at the pavilion behind the main grandstand. An extra treat is in store for fans as Sunday’s meeting for drivers will be held at the grandstand pavilion. Warm-ups hit the track at 12:15 p.m. on Sunday with racing starting afterwards.

A 2-day general admission pass may be purchased for $45 and a single day grandstand ticket can be secured for $25. Kids 12 and under are admitted for free to the grandstand.

A 2-day pit admission pass is available for $60 and a single day wristband to the pits can be purchased for $40. No pit license is required for the Charlie Bray Memorial event.
