DRIVERS, OWNERS AND EMPLOYEES PLEASED AFTER MEETING BRIDGEPORT SPEEDWAY’S NEW PROMOTER

Swedesboro, NJ (January 29, 2012) – Smiles were seen at the Holiday Inn in Logan Township, NJ on Saturday, January 28 after several meetings were completed by Bridgeport Speedway’s new promoter Doug Hoffman.

Following a session with track employees, Hoffman met with Friday and Saturday night teams separately. During his conversations throughout the day, Hoffman focused in on providing a quality racing surface for competitors and running an efficient show for fans. In addition, Hoffman and his family are committed to providing a concession stand with superior food and value. The running order of the Saturday night features this year will be the same with the Big Block Modified main being the final race of the evening. Some rule changes were discussed including the possibility of adding sail panels to the Big Block Modifieds. For the Micro-Sprints, an open tire rule will be in place for the 2012 season.

After releasing a tentative 2012 schedule recently, Hoffman is planning to finalize the event listing within the upcoming week. The first event of the season on Saturday, March 31 will be the initial race of the Poker Series for the Big Block Modifieds. Also, this will be a Race of Champions Dirt Modified Tour event and a plethora of talent is expected to attend. For each Poker Series race, the winner receives an Ace (A), second a King (K), third a Queen (Q) and so on down to the 13th-place finisher receiving a Deuce (2). After the completion of the five-race series, the driver with the best poker hand receives $2,500, second $1,500 and third $1,000.The driver with the worst hand receives $1,000. To be eligible for the Poker Series point fund, a driver must participate in all five events. Brett Deyo of BD Motorsports Media will manage the publicity for the five Poker Series races at Bridgeport by coordinating press releases, race-day promotions, contingency awards for racers, and apparel sales.

With the 2012 season just two months away, plenty of excellent marketing and sponsorship opportunities are available. Any interested parties should contact Gena Hoffman at gena@bpspeedway.com or Skye Michael at skye@bpspeedway.com to determine the right package for you.
