TICKETS FOR FIRST TRENTON, NJ INDOOR AUTO RACES GO ON SALE SEPT. 25

THREE QUARTER MIDGETS, SLINGSHOTS, CHAMP KARTS TO BE FEATURED FEB. 7-8

TRENTON, NJ, September 19,2013 . . Tickets will go on sale on Wednesday, September 25 at 10:00 a.m. for the first ever Three Quarter Midget Series Indoor auto racing
events to be staged at Sun National Bank Center in Trenton, N.J. The two days of racing, entitled the "Battle of Trenton" will be held on February 7-8. The event will feature the popular three-quarter sized Midget cars driven by top northeast drivers both nights.
On Friday night, the TQ-Midgets will be joined by Slingshot racers and on Saturday will share the spotlight with Champ Karts.
The events are being promoted by Len Sammons Motorsports Productions and will follow the 12th annual Indoor race program at Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, N.J. slated for January 24.25.
“The opportunity to promote indoor racing in Trenton is a great fit for us and the chance for our drivers to race in central New Jersey has been widely acclaimed,” said Len Sammons.
The TQ Midgets are purpose built racers designed for maximum speed and maneuverability on small indoor and outdoor speedways. Most are powered by Suzuki 750cc motorcycle engines and
each is a one-of-a-kind engineering exercise. Though both the cars and the venue are small compared to outdoor speedways, speeds over 75 MPH have been registered routinely in the Boardwalk Hall races in recent years.
TQ Midget drivers include ‘regulars’ on outdoor TQ circuits such as two-time ATQMRA champion Ryan Tidman and stars from other forms of racing such as 700-time career feature winner Billy Pauch, New England paved track NASCAR Modified specialist Ted Christopher and Wall
Stadium and New Egypt favorite Jimmy Blewett. Anthony Sesely, a paved track champion from Matawan, NJ who has raced this past year on both dirt and asphalt, won the most recent Indoor TQ race last February in Boardwalk Hall.
The Friday night Slingshot cars are identically built cars with aluminum roofs and bodies that resemble the popular dirt Modifieds that race in the area. Slingshots race outdoors on both dirt and pavement.  Because the cars are so similar, a premium is placed on individual driving talent, leading to often spectacular results.
The Saturday night co-featured Champ Karts are go-karts with roll cages that surround the driver for protection. Unlike the Slingshot class, different chassis and engines are permitted. Drivers come from a wide range with as many as ten states of residency represented in
recent Boardwalk Hall race events.
Choice reserved front row tickets are priced at $30 for each night and lower level reserved seats are $25 on both Friday and Saturday.
Adult General admission tickets are $20 each night and children
general admission tickets are just $5.
Racing begins at 7:30 p.m. Friday night and at 7:00 p.m. Saturday.
