New Egypt Speedway Will Honor Bryan Clauson During Saturday, August 13th Event
Fans Wearing Clauson T-shirts Will Help Donate $6.30 to USAC Benevolent Fund

New Egypt, NJ ----- The dirt racing community was shocked at the passing of one of its most likable and recognizable names when USAC driver Bryan Clauson succumbed to injuries he sustained while leading the Belleville Midget National event on Saturday, August 6th. Clauson was a fan favorite and USAC feature winner at New Jersey’s New Egypt Speedway and during their event on Saturday, August 13th the Speedway will celebrate Clauson’s legacy.

The Speedway is asking its fans who attend to wear green and black, the colors of most of Clauson’s rides during his “Chasing 200” tour of 2016, and in addition anyone who wears a Bryan Clauson t-shirt to the race, the Speedway along with General Manager Allyse Wolfinger will donate $6.30 to the USAC Benevolent Fund, the designated charity of the Clauson family to accept donations in Bryan’s name. The Speedway will also be selling pins, paper fans, and stickers with all proceeds also being donated to the USAC Benevolent Fund. There will also be a moment of silence prior to the start of racing.

“Bryan Clauson was a fierce competitor, a fan favorite, but more importantly an amazing person who always had time to talk to everyone waiting to meet him. We would like to honor the driver, champion, and person Bryan was by helping others the way his family has requested. Saturday night will be a celebration of a driver who gave so much to our sport and its fans in the most respectful way we can,” said New Egypt Speedway General Manager Allyse Wolfinger.

Clauson was a two time USAC feature winner at New Egypt Speedway once in 2012 on his way to the USAC championship and again in 2014. This past season he fought through the field to finish an impressive third on his way to claiming the 2016 USAC Eastern Storm Championship.

New Egypt, NJ--- Billy Pauch, Jr. picked up his second victory in a row in the 358 Modified division at New Egypt Speedway on Saturday night bringing his season total to three. Pauch Jr. rocketed to the front of the field after starting in 11th position to cruise to the checkers.
John Pakenham led the field to take the green and quickly took the lead over second place starter Patrick Gold. The first caution of the night would come for Neal Williams spinning collecting a few other cars and damaging race winner Pauch, Jr.’s sail panel. The damage however was not severe enough to warrant him making a pit stop and he continued to accelerate through the field when the green flag was thrown. On lap 10 Pauch, Jr. was able to maneuver around Pakenham to take the lead. He would easily cruise to the checkered flag followed by Jimmy Horton, Ryan Godown, Neal Williams, and Billy Pauch. The victory brought Pauch, Jr. within 43 points of the championship that will be wrapped up next Saturday, September 5th with a double point feature event. Pauch, Jr. could play spoiler to the rivalry that has been once again ignited between his father Billy Pauch, Sr. and his biggest rival at New Egypt Ryan Godown. Following Palmer to the line was Brandon Grosso, Simmons, Tom Tanner, and Connor King. With a strong third place finish Ryan Simmons jumped back into the point lead where the top eight are separated by just 56 points going into their championship, double points night on Saturday, September 12th.

Mick Search of New Egypt, NJ won the first of two Street Stock features. Search would take the checkered in a race that saw numerous cautions and point leader Bill Liedtka taken off the track on the wrecker. Search was followed to the line by John Carpenter, Billy Wroble, Gary Klimeczak, and Joe Reid. John Carpenter would score the victory and the points lead in the second Street Stock feature of the night. The victory is Carpenter’s sixth on the season.
