SIXTEEN-YEAR-OLD DAN LEAPER LOOKS TO GET ROOKIE SEASON UNDERWAY AT NEW EGYPT SPEEDWAY WITH THE MID-ATLANTIC SPRINT SERIES

DOUGLASVILLE, PA ... Douglasville, PA’s Dan Leaper will pilot his number 24L Triple X Race Components chassis at the Delaware Auto Exchange Mid-Atlantic Sprint Series season opener on Saturday, April 14th at New Egypt Speedway. This will be the first race of Leaper’s 2018 Geiswite Creations Rookie of the Year campaign with MASS, as he joins the growing list of novice teams joining the series this season.

“We plan on running the full MASS schedule, and I hope we can learn some as well as prove myself this year,” Dan says. “After getting some decent finishes under my belt, I hope we can eventually win some heat races, and ultimately the Rookie of the Year honor”.

Leaper began his career at the ripe age of five-years-old, racing quarter midgets at Honeybrook Speedway. At age ten, Dan stepped up into a 270 Micro Sprint and then a year later a 600 Micro Sprint, competing at Linda’s Speedway, Greenwood Valley Action Track, and Hamlin Speedway before graduating to a full-sized Racesaver 305 Sprint Car in 2017.

“We really didn’t plan on racing 305’s or a full-sized Sprinter as soon as we did,” Leaper admitted. “Pat and Zack Bealer offered us a really great deal however, by trading all of our 600 Micro Sprint equipment for all of their 305 stuff, and my dad couldn’t refuse it, so here we are!”

Participating in two MASS events last season, each taking place at Grandview Speedway Inc. in 2017, Leaper is excited to return to the famous 1/3-mile-high banked oval because he enjoys the banking and the thrill of the car getting around the speedway as it does.

“This year we have some returning as well as some new sponsors who I would like to thank for helping us out this season,” Dan recalls. “APS Powdercoating, Rick’s Service Center, Carfagno Chevrolet, Tri-County Performance, Tri-County Chiropractic, Christman Remodeling, KB Bradshaw, West Fabrication Inc., Birdsboro Napa, Tim’s Shock Lab and my crew which consists of my parents, Steve, Andy Anderson, and Toot will help make this year possible.

Leaper, along with five other committed 2018 rookies, Jason Dunn, Chloe Andreas, Chad Connor, Dom Melair and Cj Faison will all be present on April 14th at New Egypt Speedway, for the start of MASS’ second operating season. 2017 Mid-Atlantic Sprint Series Champion Eddie Wagner, 2017 Rookie of the Year Tom Carberry and additional talents including Mark Bitner, Tim Tanner Jr., Jeff Geiges, Craig Pellegrini Jr., David Bonner, Brendon Poff, Samantha Lieberman, and Robert Burd are all planning on attending the season opener.

JASON DUNN LOOKS FORWARD TO A ‘CHANGE OF PACE’ IN 2018 WITH MID-ATLANTIC SPRINT SERIES

HAMILTON, NJ.. Former Sportsman/Crate Modified competitor Jason Dunn is looking to shake things up in 2018 when he kicks off his rookie season with the Delaware Auto Exchange Mid-Atlantic Sprint Series at New Egypt Speedway on April 14th. Along with attending all events on the entire MASS schedule, Dunn hopes to travel to Central Pennsylvania to compete with the PA Sprint Series when able to.

“My main goal this season is to learn and be consistent,” the thirty-six-year-old graphic artist and owner of JLD Graphics said. “Racing Sprint Cars is something that I have always wanted to do, and after accomplishing a fair amount in the Sportsman and Crate Modified division at New Egypt, I wanted to do something a little more different and affordable, which is everything MASS offered me”.

Dunn, who resides out of Hamilton, NJ, began his career in 2006, competing in the Rookie Sportsman class, and then ran a few races in 2007 at New Egypt Speedway before taking a hiatus after only four races. Resuming his career in 2011, Jason competed full time in the Sportsman and Crate Modified class at mainly New Egypt Speedway, but visited Bridgeport Speedway and Georgetown Speedway periodically.

“With MASS being a traveling series, I’m really thrilled to be able to visit new tracks, like Williams Grove, facing new challenges, and meeting new people,” Dunn said. “The goal for opening day is to learn about the car, finish the race in one piece and to have fun!”

“I’m really looking forward to this year, and with good equipment, my crew which consists of my brother Chuck, my wife Monica, and friends Pat McBride and Steve Wilson, as well as my sponsors Paul Mancini Custom Homes, McBride Fireplaces, Pioneer Auto Body, Cenco Heating Oil and Propane and JLD Graphics, I’m hoping we can get some experience, then some top fives, and hopefully the Rookie of the Year trophy at the end of the season. This will be a learning experience for sure, but if we take baby steps, we should be able to get my JLD Graphic #21J in the right direction”.

JLD Graphics, Jason’s graphic design business, will once again sponsor the top three Mid-Atlantic Sprint Series point championship finishers in 2018, with a free helmet paint job going to the champion, $250 off of second place’s helmet paint job and $150 off of third place’s helmet paint job. JLD Graphics is a custom paint shop based in Hamilton, NJ, which specializes in all forms of distinct paint and graphics.
